There was a plan… a grand plan… a secret plan…
It involved months of messaging, hiring a boat, importing a driver from Tasmania, making a list, solving some puzzles, an event with an ulterior motive & an early start…
Leaving the BeaverFinder at Jacobs Well, we boarded the Blue Woggle for a day of high seas adventure from Coomera Island North to Crusoe Island and many points in between…
The crew consisted of Snickersallan, Davinells, EeeePees and myself… electing not to abbreviate our names the logs were signed in full…
A perfect day aboard the SS Beaverlicous, sponsored by the South Stradbroke Auto Group - we specialise in used Volvos…
A locked gate wasn’t going to stop us from finding this cache… Couran Cove is unlike anywhere else I’ve visited…
Thanks CouranCove

What better way to celebrate your birthday than with a surprise trip out on the waters around South Stradbroke Island finding caches?!?
It was a stunning day to be on the water and the company was brilliant. Joining us, forming a motley crew, was EeePees, Peppa and Snickersallan. We set off early from Jacobs Well, weaving our way through the islands, flying over the wakes of the giant “look at me” boats, avoiding the shallow sandbars along the way.
We stopped at Couran cove for the cache on the other side of the island and on our way back we made the find. Tftc CouranCove

Me and my 2 sisters found this geocache on a nice sunny day. It was a fun little activity and only took 10 to 15 minutes to find!
Thank you so much that was lots of fun. It was hard to find but we are so glad we kept trying
It’s a perfect day to be out on the water in Karicka’s tinnie. There weren’t too many people about today and Karicka made a quick find. Thanks for the cache
Did see a few healthy looking wallabies on the island today.
Thank you for hiding this geocache CouranCove

Came here on a day trip. So sad to see the place not being use to it’s max. It’s a really under appreciated place.
Didn’t have a pen to sign the log. So will send photo to CO.
Thanks for the cache.

Thanks for the cache.
Found it but I think that the cache moved because the GPS was navigating us to a place about 10m-15m away from the cache. Thank you for the geocache though!
Couldn’t find it initially but after checking some of the photo clues in previous posts we went back again and found.. Thank You was a nice activity to add to the Couran Cove Day visit.
Took a bit of searching and mozzies bites but with the clue and pictures we found it!
I introduced my grand daughter to Geocaching. Found after a bit of searching. She loved it. She thought she was looking for an ‘X’ that marked the spot, and started digging for a treasure. Precious!
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys.
Needed stealth as this is a busy area at this time of year. Signed log and replaced as found TFTC
29/12/20 15:50 looked further afield then spotted quickly . Thanks for the cache CouranCove and CASSPARR and libibibii for the maintenance. And so ends my adventure on South Stradbroke. Great exercise.
Geocache was replaced on the 8.11.20 in a glass salsa jar with a present and a new log sheet
We found it in real rough condition, we are going to replace it later this afternoon
Thanks for the cache was in a little bit of a bad condition so we will replace this afternoon
We had a good look around but couldn't find it. Left with some very disappointed kids.
We thank we found the remnants of it. But we think it's pretty much destroyed. Found worn out zip lock bag
Official Geocaching container was missing, but found under the detached base of a palm frond. TFTC
TFTC! On a Geocaching adventure with my Aunty and Uncle from Melbourne (Vic). Not long arrived by ferry to the Island and pretty much walked straight to this one. My Aunty had the cache in hand rather quickly and signed for us all as S, G & B for short!
Grub62 and I are holidaying nearby in the Gold Coast & we met up with Smiley1982 as a bit of a family geocaching get together. We were are signing as S G B for short to save on log space and for ease of writing. I had sneaked off ,while Grub62 and Smiley1982 were finishing the formalities after we arrived on the island, and had a hunt around at GZ to no avail. After Grub62 arrived at GZ she soon found the cache a little way away (not at the base of a tree at all as per the hint). I also dont know if a plastic bag under a rock actually qualifies as "natural". But all good, the cache was replaced as found. TFTC.
We were on an Adventure - Bunadoorian, Smiley1982 and myself - we headed over to South Stradbroke Island to find the GeoTour caches ( well those we could get to and still available). The ones closest to the resort we walked to with mixed results. We were able to look for a couple of the further away ones with the help of Paul our very informative , friendly and 4WD tour driver. This was the first cache we had found on the island and my first in Queensland! TFTC CouranCove It is very sad that the caches aren't being maintained very well. This was 1 of 4 finds with 5 DNF's for the day both on and off the island.
A nice quick find on our way to the paddle boards and kayaks. Was surprised there was no container, the log just placed under the hint item.
Thanks!!

Visiting Couran Cove on the maiden voyage of our new boat sailing from Coomera to Newport. It was too crowded in the marina so we anchored outside off the beach and took the dinghy in. We enjoyed refreshments at the café and then went for a wander around the resort to start the geotour.
This was the first of our hunt and did take some time to find, as it is no longer at the base of a tree and no longer in a container. We finally found the log in a ziplock bag under a natural feature in the vicinity of gz amongst the lilly pillies with help from previous finders' log hints.
We made note of the clue and signed the log - found with Astrokatz.

Dora the Explorer! and I have been paddling southward down the island and grabbing caches on the way.
This cache took a little while to find. It was nice to have a break from paddling whilst trying to find the caches in this area.

Took a little while. Look under rock.
We completed the fish series and traditionals around South Moreton Bay Island all by Kayak and walking. We stopped to camp overnight. Was a very enjoyable adventure using sit on top kayaks and hammock tents.
On day 1 we completed in this order, one of the caches may be out of order. We used two cars. One was parked at Jacobs Well and the other at Paradise Point tomsave back tracking. We had a very early start leaving Jacobs Well with the high tide.
Fish and Cache series, 16, 23, 19, 20, 22, Crusoe House Boat, 21, 18, 17, Jumpinpin Passage, Fish Cache Series 24, 3, 2, 1, 5, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 2 Goats in a Boat Fish Series 12.
Day 2
Camped overnight near Fish Series 11.
Fish and Cache Series 11, 57 km from Mexican, Fish and Cache Series 13, 14, 15, Dux's Hut, The Sand Dunes, Tipplers, (we had a break here and bought breakfast from the shops here). As the Sun Sets, Wallaby Lawn, Step Back in Time, The Bora Ring, Easy for Some, Minbalup, and Canoe Tree. We then paddled from here back to Paradise Point.
The adventure was fairly straigt forward, saw lots of sting rays, so make sure you have foot wear on when pushing kayaks across the mud flats which we had to do on afew occasions. I even had a fish decide to join me in the kayak. I quickly put him straigt back into he water. We were both quite exhausted on the final leg back to Paradise Point as we were going against the tide.
All in all was a fun adventure and I would recommend doing it by kayak over two days.

We had tried for this cache before lunch but had to abort on the mission as there was a resort activity of soccer in progress. Now we were liquored up on wine and full up on food we were heading back in.
There were still a few littlies hanging back playing soccer so we went in through the gate and headed to the trees, hopefully their parents aren’t around as the kids are ignoring us but we are pretty sure if parents were watching they would be a bit concerned at 2 adults walking in and heading to the trees!
We kept the trees as our shield to hide ourselves so we woudn’t be spotted, we never found the cache but we did find the log and the base of the cache, so we signed the log than put it in a ziplock bag and put a large rock on it at the base of the tree.
