Enjoyed visiting the historic location with ZippyBling - found the decoy first, found the cache subsequently - very nicely done! TFTC.
I've been here before, I can feel it.It was a lot more overgrown then though!Maybe that's why I couldn't find it then?Or maybe I'm just coping. Who knows?I'm definitely coping.Anyways.Today.I managed to find it.As indicated by the find log above.I stumbled across the decoy first.Just like last time. It's not in great shape, but it's still achieving it's purpose!Mighty clever that thing is.Found a very well presented Munzee and a couple of other bits and bobs. But after scouring the structure a detail intrigued me which soon revealed the cache.I can see why I didn't find that last time, very well done. Thanks for hiding this sneaky cache The Farmers 5!
I allocated a bit of time to run out and grab today's streak find - this one had been on the radar for such a task for a little while and it seemed like this was the right time to call in its services.I found a nice and easy place to park and I was off on a little stroll by dusk to a pretty fascinating structure.A couple of laps of it were completed, with what I presumed to be the oft-referenced decoy found (it's not in terribly great shape and I couldn't extract the note confirming its status either way).As such, I persisted in my search and eventually decided to try something that I'd been briefly suspicious of a little earlier but hadn't checked out yet. Can't believe I held off on investigating given the cache was there all along!I gleefully signed the log under the watchful eye of the local kangaroos (some of whom had ostensibly jumped the fence and were spotted amusingly close to the nearby playground on the drive out). Thanks to The Farmers 5 for placing this one here!
Very happy to be here for my first Mega event from WA. Out to fill my grid and find some high favourited caches. Lots of laughs catching up with old friends and making some new friends along the way. Signing as a team - WA6Some logs are delayed and out of order - Apologies for that- its been hectic trying to keep up! Nice cache here worthy of a fav pointMany thanks The Farmers 5 for placing this hide for me to find and adding to my adventures.
Day 3 of my Canberra Mega adventure. Out caching with the members of the WA6 crew. The day looks to another sunny day. Very happy to claim a smiley here . WA6 crew - Geotrakka, meme28, burns345, Neva2old, I c nothing and CirrusSome logs signed as N2O or WA6This is my 12650 find Thankyou The Farmers 5for placing and maintaining this cache.
Part of the Sandgroper contingent that has come to the Mega to explore new hunting grounds. Its sure to be a great week with many finds and laughs with lots of great friends and maybe some new ones along the way. Thank you for placing this cache for our enjoyment. Logged as WA5.
Over here for Canberra Mega from Western Australia picking up caches and meeting like persons. TFTC logged as WA6 (Geotrakka Meme28 Burns345 ic_nothing cirrus_wa and Neva2old)
Embarking on a week long mega adventure in the ACT and its picturesque surrounds, I've teamed up with an enthusiastic West Aussie crew: I C Nothing, Meme28, geotrakka, and Burns345, with the occasional cameo from neva2old. As we traversed territory, I was enthralled by the rich variety of caches this new hunting ground presented, turning each discovery into a memorable experience. Our group engaged in friendly competition at each stop to be the one to claim the find and shared countless laughs along the way.Together, we marked our triumphs in the logs as WA5, and on the rare occasion WA6.Thanks The Farmers 5 for placing Vents for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 12:49 on 27/3/2024.This is find number 8251 for me.
If only modern civil infrastructure had the same air of mystery Cache gods were shining on us as we approached GZ my first suspicions were correct! Very lucky with a somewhat sneaky hide. TFTC Farmers5!
Found on a fun morning of caching around Weston Creek. Searched for this one years ago and found no success. Came back today and changed my approach from last time and soon had the cache in hand. Definitely not what I expected here, nicely done. TFTC TF5!
With a chance to collect two souvenirs, The Drovers and I decided on teaming up for a trip to Canberra. This was a great idea as there wasn’t any ‘Magic Marker’ events near us and for me personally to find at least 21 caches for the ‘Winter Solstice’ souvenir. We manly focused on caches which were meant to be quick and easy finds to maximize our numbers for the day. The event was great fun too. Most caches found were quick and easy to find. However, there was a few which took a little longer to find. All found caches were **signed as 'JM&TD'**. We decided on mixing and matching the caches and this means a few revisits for either them or me. They ended up with 28 finds and I ended up with 31 finds plus a couple of DNF’s. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found and for allowing them to bring the Geocaching community enjoyment. TFTE and TFTC’s!
With nice weather, it was a good opportunity to grab a few caches.
We found a nice variety of hides, and all in good condition.
Signed and replaced as found.
Many thanks for placing this cache, The Farmers 5, and for us and others to find.

Great to see a working heritage asset with the the Canberra Main Outfall Sewer (MOS). Also love a good decoy. TFTC!
First cache of the day
Coordinates are very spot on
Thanks for the hide
It took us only 5 mins which considering my slow geosenses it’s a great achievement

Out for a wee spot of caching on Easter Monday and we headed out to Weston. Kicked off with a Farmers 5 special, and it was Baristayan who located the very clever hide.
Thanks for the cache and the history lesson!

Cache check and all is good still there .
Recent rains have made the bush a bit think around GZ but it’s right there .
Good luck .

#3159 I found myself walking around in circles and spreading my search area. I had found a decoy on a previous visit, but back with DeadThief today and after a short search he home straight in where I had failed. Thanks TF5 for the cache. These vents are much more decorative than their newer counterparts.
Last for the day....and a neat hide that I've certainly seen before. Have been in the area before but good to go back and check it all out again. Log was signed and then back to the car and off home.
Thanks for the fun Farmers 5....

I had no idea that this existed, thanks for bringing me out here. A nice easy find, however could not get the logbook out of the container for the life of me, so I couldn’t sign it. A photo from GZ is attached as proof. TFTC
Got easily fooled with this one. I re adjusted myself and looked harder and eventually I found what was quite obvious! Tftc!
Cool spot, found pretty quickly but cannot sign log due to ant nest. Have photo if required TFTC
Awesome location! We needed a tool to get to it - I tried to make sure the next person won't need one when I put it back. The wet weather has caused a bit of water damage, might need to be looked after. TFTC!
Great spot and gets a fav from me. After wandering around Weston just in search of a leg-stretch really I took in a couple of caches. After a little searching the GPS soon settled on better coords and the cache was soon in hand. A crafty little hide. TFTC.
What a clever hide! Found the decoy quite quickly, took a bit longer to find the cache. An interesting piece of history - thanks TF5!
Found with hip7pie on a very wet afternoon walk. Took us a few minutes but this was a great find to celebrate her 400th geocache - just the right level of sneaky TNLNSL TFTC

# 6424 Found while in the area. I used to live near here and this was always Kangaroo hill, and I see it still is . First time visit here though. A bit annoyed by the decoy, but in a good way. It didn't take too long to uncover the real thing.
Thanks The Farmers 5

Found today on a drive around Weston. We used to see this from the road on the way to the Cotter and played the "first in the family to see it" game. Beaut piece of Canberra history.
Condition Report:. Good and dry

Stumbled straight onto this one for once. Farmer 5 puzzles can be tricky. Glad to have it found signed and returned l.

I needed to get out and about. So early this morning, actually a bit earlier than expected I went for a drive.
I was driving by and thought I had time to drop in here and finally pick this one up. I have been here for a cache a long time ago and it was nice to see again.
Nice quick find with spot on coords. Tftc The Farmers5!!!

What a great place and thank you The Farmers 5 for all the info on the Vent Chimney. I really expected to have trouble with another of your tricky hides, but the co ords were spot on. TFTC
I have been here before as part of a multicache, but interesting enough to be worth a return. Good hide. Favourite point. TFTC The Farmers 5.
Doing a dog run to this side of town I decided to collect some of the caches around here.
This one brought me back to a place I had been last 8 years ago for another cache. Hardly remember how cool these stacks are.
I was lucky with the cache hide and made a quick find, nice hide.
Thank you The Farmers 5 for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Hunted and searched and hunted and searched and then thought... mmmm I wonder... bingo! Clever little cache! And a bonus it gave us V for November. Out on the hunt with Gliss! And a delightful herd of Roos with many babies. Tftc
Found with Nibletricecakes. After hunting about; seeing the decoy; hunting about; reading some logs; hunting about... I was about to pack it in and target a different daily when I heard those lovely words "got it". Yay! I needed a "V" cache for a November challenge so this def ticked a box. TFTC
Absolutely love this cache! Definitely kicking myself after checking every single possible hiding spot except the real one! Even checked the decoy a couple times in case it was double bluffing about being a decoy!! FP from me! TFTC!
Got one up the road and it would be remiss of me not to collect this one. This cache comes with a premature sensation of elation, then a trough of despair, then a sense of wonder when the great attachment is revealed. What else can you say when trying not to give anything away?

Found on an after work, evening mini mission
On with the torch and off for the search. I startled a few roos hanging out at GZ and soon after I found the decoy. Checked all over that but no joy until i expanded my search and tried something else...Haha! The cache! Good hide!
Thanks for the hide, The Farmers 5!

Found the decoy straight away. But it took a little longer to find the cache. Loved the hide and such a cool spot. Signed log BG. TFTC TF5.
TFTC Woohoo my 200th cache and a perfect find to mark the occasion. Getting on dark I was rushing to fit this one in. Came across the decoy too quickly and was so chuffed with myself I’d found it so quickly. Got me, and I was cussing I’d not bought tweezers too! First to log on the new sheet, just wow what a day. 70 caches today
Cache maintenance completed on the cache .
A new fresh log sheet installed .
Good luck in the hunt .

I remember exploring this area when it was just a paddock - Nothing much between the horticulture school and the RSPCA in those days.
A very nice brick structure that is in stark contrast to the modern architecture of the suburb.
The CO might want to check on this one as I think the cache might not be as originally intended.
Thanks for the cache The Farmers 5.

I wasn’t very confident on arrival here it was late at night and cold and I had intended to go to the nearby cache but I entered the directions wrong way in my phone. In any case I was lucky enough to find the cache after a brief search and even missed the decoy. Thanks for the cache and interesting camo.
Now that the rain has passed we decided to call into this one on our way home.
Saw something which we thought had to be the decoy and made the find soon after.
Thanks for another good camo Cache The Farmers5

A hidden gem and piece of history! Kind of tricky I say. Here early in Canberra at a junior training and development camp at the AIS for xc skiers and then there’s the MEGA and the NFF to look forward to - a big week! Time for a few caches out this way exploring the Capital, finding a few MTB trails and of course caches that give the visitor a new perspective. TFTC!
Great morning of caching around Canberra after doing a parkrun in Coombs. Didn't have a plan as usual, but just went from cache to cache not knowimg where I would end up. Luckily the weather was better then expected.

A quick find with the decoy in good condition. Sigh. The real cache was found after a brief look. The cache container is broken or at least I assume it isn't meant to be like that. Very clever idea. Interesting to find out what this chimney actually is. I was wondering while walking down. Tftc
Found by Roarts after a bit of looking around. I've driven past this and never known what it was for. Tftc.
A familiar spot (for maybe obvious reasons). Had a good look around, spotted the decoy and then eventually found the real cache. Nice hide.
Thanks,
Thanks,

After a pretty ordinary couple of weeks at work, and with such a lovely day forecast, I decided I needed a day off to reset my thinking. And what a better way to do that than with a few caches. Quite a few caches had popped up in my previously cleared out areas, so I made those my initial goal for the day. Who knows where my caching will take me today!
Unless otherwise noted, all caches were found in good order and according to any hints provided.
Found in the second place I looked, knowing that the first place was not going to be it. Nicely put together, but not still keen on the fake cache idea. Second time I have been here on a cache hunt, but last time was for a waypoint.
Thanks The Farmers 5 for the cache and the fun!

I came out to grab a few caches and get a bit of exercise. I had a slight detour to pick up a newly published cache on the way.
This was another detour, this time on my way home. I've found other caches in this area before, but this is a new one. I managed to find the dummy cache before the real one. But eventually I had it in hand.

After work with an errand to run I decided to stop here for a look. For once on a Farmers Five cache I was happy to see the real cache immediately. Still a wonderful way to hide a cache. I had a bit more of a look round and found the second cache as well.
Thanks.

I have had my eye on this cache ever since it came out, as I have been intrigued by the positive comments and quick amount of favourite points it has received in it's short life!
I was in the area today for my daily cache and decided to pick this one up as well given I was so close!
The decoy is almost as clever, if not more clever, than the actual hide itself! The cache took me ages to find though because I was too caught up searching for a particular hide, and didn't expect to locate the cache in another fashion!
Got there eventually though and have seen this camo used before a few times so really shouldn't have been tricked for so long!
Well done Farmers 5, I will give you another FP for the extra effort you put into this cache!

Had eyed this location off some while ago, umming and aaahing about the hide... obviously the obvious was going to take some doing. But in the meantime, a clever cache has been hidden. On our way home from Redwood Grove Park, it was high time this cache was located. Muggle hubby joyously declared he had found the cache... smugly I knew better, and had cache in hand. Replaced carefully. TFTC Farmers 5, a favourite from me
Yep got me! I was thinking this was a little easy for a 3 rating. Replaced and within one minute allrounder had the log in hand. Good cameo too. Interesting hearing about the history of the Vent. Thanks for the lesson, I had no idea this was even here.
A favourite point from me.

Found @ 1:55pm with hccatcher11415
We both went straight to the chimney where hccatcher thought she had it. I noticed that the GPSr said we were still 8m away. Fooled! I followed the arrow and made the find of yet another cleverly camo'd cache.
Thanks The Farmers 5, you guessed it, a favourite for me!

Naturally I found the decoy hiding spot first - and ignored it. After wandering around for a while came back to it and then found the decoy. Argh.
Wandered around some more and finally decided to check one more place - yep there it was.
Thank you for placing the cache The Farmers 5 and the air.

fitzy_1965 & I had stayed in town last night so took advantage of some driveby caching while kid free.
We never found the decoy.....walked straight up to GZ and it all fell into place making a quick find. (Must say that I'm disappointed that a Munzee has been stuck to the vent itself)

Out and about recovering from yesterday's strenuous caching run (walk) and I managed 6 before heading back home. Several new ones in this general area caught our attention. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, returned the cache, and headed off to the next one.
Thanks The Farmers 5 !! I've done the enjoyable Multi based on the System beneath our feet....
