Had trouble with co-ordinates but thought I found the right hint but no luck. But now that I found one of the others maybe I'm looking for something similar.

27-Dec-22
Found it! Very clever

29-Nov-22
A nothing day at home so it was a totally unplanned trip. Before coming down to park I uploaded an offline list to work from. This meant I could enter the bush with some certainty. Once at GZ the cache was quickly located. The log was full but managed to squeeze my name sideways. Thank you for the placement.

After finding the "Clean Sweep" cache we wondered if we could expect something similar here and weren't disappointed.
We spotted it quite quickly after initially overshooting GZ slightly and again loved the very inventive container.
In his excitement signing the log Mr Coblet almost lost his footing and had an unexpected paddle but he managed to regain balance and completed the formalities without incident. You could say he almost had a brush with nature, so fulfilled the intention of the cache.
Thanks tryfyn for another great cache in this lovely reserve and for the extra effort you put into making it unique.

21-Apr-22
Found this afternoon, was very wet and had yeast-like spores growing inside. Unable to write on it as too wet unfortunately!

26-Feb-22
No service made it a bit hard to find. The log is fill and wet.

26-Feb-22
Made a bit more difficult having no service, but found in the end. Log could use some attention and is a bit soggy. Thanks

28-Dec-21
Found a while ago with storeynz, forgot to log it so revisited and wrote our name in. Such a lovely setting.

06-Oct-21
Such clear water! Spotted the cache from a distance - happened to be downstream quite a bit and was at the right angle. Enjoyed the pun.

This was our 2nd find of the day ... proving to be an easy find using the hint. As always this is a lovely reserve to visit. Beautiful today, and and saw some Kereru too. Perfect, thanks for the cache placement.

#12,128. A nice brush with nature in this interesting reserve in Whakamarama. GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Quick find. The cache itself was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. But the logbook was now full. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and …

Headed over this way to clear a few non-smilies off the map with Cats&Dragons. The plan was to start in Waihi and head South along the coast and see how far we can get before our other halves call and tell us to head home. To make the most of this a 4am start was on the cards to cram as much caching in as possible.

Last walk of the day and still really enjoyed this walk, however as we were picking up one cache Cats&Dragons distrubed a bees nest which I then wandered over an got about 20 stings on my legs. Not the best way to end a day but better than not caching.

Nicely themed container, coords seemed a little out for me today, but still no troubles in finding.

Spending a couple of nights away in the camper and discovered this hidden gem of native bush complete with geocaches AND a place to overnight. Mr S got there in the end while Mrs S anxiously watched from above, hoping he didn't slip and end up in the stream with the eels. On our way back out to the camper we came across the cutest little robin, in fact Mrs S nearly stepped on him. He was quite happily hopping around in the undergrowth hunting his dinner, totally unconcerned at our presence. Thanks to all those dedicated friends who look after the reserve and have made it predator free. Long may they continue their good work.

Thanks tryfyn. Have a FAV for bringing us here. I guess now we should solve some of the local puzzles and organise a return trip.

Last find for the day Big Grin

With the help of the hint, followed a sort of trail down to the water, and then spotted the cache. Not found one like this before. Reaching for the cache, the log was soon being signed.

Thanks for the hide.

Got me thinking the puzzle Nature Abhors A Vacuum, might be a similar hide? another visit that will have to be, as not sure how to solve that one.

I love this little bush walk - it’s not my first time caching here. I was at the nearby school so it was a good opportunity to attempt this cache. The hint was very helpful thanks. Would’ve loved to do the bigger loop but my daughter wasn’t so keen today. Thanks for getting us out here. Looks like i have some puzzles to solve before my next trip here. Tftc

Kiwis69 mentioned she was planning a trip to Tauranga to pick up some solved puzzles and have a nice little walk. Just a quick mission for Sunday morning, so I offered my services as Chauffeur, Extra eyes (for spotting caches) and some Chit chat on the walk to the caches. The weather was perfect for this time of year, we got to witness the most gorgeous sunrise on the way over the Kaimais. We were treated with stunning blue skies and had a fantastic morning caching.

Nice and easy to spot this one, must of approached from the right direction as it was quite obvious and we both had a laugh. Admired the very clear stream, that's lovely to see. Almost completely cleaned out this area now. Great recycling effort Tryfyn.

I finally decided to have a go at solving the growing array of blue question marks around the BOP. After some solving successes, I was super-keen to find the actual hides and persuaded 11hpg11 that we needed a quick trip over the Kaimais for a few short walks today. First port of call was this reserve - a lovely walk and another cool place I wouldn't have seen without geocaching. The stream is incredibly clear! This was one of the more straightforward finds on our loop walk - a relief after spending ages looking for some old long-buried treasure nearby. Nice cache holder too, a fav for this & the fun we've had today, TFTC

We travelled to Tauranga this morning for some post-Easter caching, heading first for Puketoki Reserve. We had an enjoyable wander through the Reserve, collecting 4 trads and 3 puzzle caches along the way. Making our way back towards the carpark we detoured down to the stream for a closer Brush with Nature. Having some idea of what we were looking for quickly eliminated many hidding spots. Then we glanced a few metres further and spotted the hide. Nicely done. Thanks.

Was over this way today to pick up an item I'd purchased, and saw there were a few caches nearby, so continued on up the road to have an explore with the three juniors. Not exactly geared up for a bush walk, wearing jandals, so was pleased to find the track was well maintained. What a cool little reserve and walking track!

We spent a bit of time hunting for the cache near the car park, but weren't having any luck, so we figured we'd come back to it, and go find the other caches further along the track. So this one was our first find of the day. It didn't take too long to spot it. Junior reckons this deserved a favor point for giving us a laugh. Nice one.

01-Apr-18
Found this one after a small scramble down to the river. A few possibilities to check within the area but cache was quickly located. Love the pun and the container! Thanks for bringing us here!

21-Mar-18
The last of our caches in the area today. Once we went exploring off track it didn't take long to find this one, and we appreciated the humour of your inventive container! Thanks for bringing us to this lovely area; we enjoyed the bush walk and birdlife. We heard tui and saw a robyn and a wood pigeon today. TFTC tryfyn! SmileSmile

It was a race tonight I had an hour to get from Te Puna to here find the two caches I have left here then back to get kids by 7pm . Walked past this one to start with so backtracked then read the hint a new i need to go of trail a little to find the cache once I did that it was a quick find on to the next cache for a clean sweep hopefully.

Had been looking to work my way through the Kaimai's this summer, or at least that part of it I could between work and the chores that have been set for me. This year was not to be one of a summer holiday but rather working through so I took the opportunity to retreat into the hills at pretty much every opportunity.
So headed over here in the early part of the morning (as if that is any different from the normal) to make the most of the light and the plans that I had.
Started walking about 5.45am (first walk only) as have been wanting to get these few along here for a while.
This was my last short walk of the day and a chance to gather in a few more. THis walk I encountered far more people in the first 10 minutes than I had seen all day on the previous 3 walks, and with all manner of pooches. NIce quick find once the muggles had passed.

Thanks for the placement and the cache was all dry and in good order.

SmileSmileSmile Day after the storm - thought I would go and see if there was much damage in this beautiful reserve. Took the short loop to this one and carefully made my way down to the cache. Just as I reached the stream some cachers from Wellington arrived. After hellos, I said I thought I may be a bit far from the cache and for them to try next hint item. They soon had the cache in hand and we move on SmileSmileSmileTFTC SmileSmileSmileSmile

10.25am - Track busy with muggles. Just had to judge our timing to collect this cache. Interesting hide of container. SLTFTC

With my uncle (squirrel nutcase) and Gap when we found this cache. A neat walk in the bush. TFTC.

30-Dec-17
With Gap (of Fap and Gap) and nerweed... We are on a mission to complete a few challenges, and to do a general cache tidy up of the landscape...

We returned to Whakamarama with enthusiasm. This is a great piece of bush land... We were only after a couple of caches here with desirable D/T ratings. We wondered if there was a back door, but realised there would be no shortcuts today. Just as well; we managed to complete the loop while finding some seriously good caches...

We shared our visit with several family groups. It was a matter of timing our cache hunts around these people. This one required a sharp eye to get ourselves attuned to the style of hides. An interesting hide to say the least. TFTC.

It's been a while since I was last here and I have a lot of love for this reserve so I was quite excited about returning. This cache was a good one to start with as GPS wasn't the best but the hint took the edge off. We over shot this one and had to back track a little but finding this cache revealed the theme for things to come. Cheers tryfyn - great area and straight forward first - TFTC Smile

28-Dec-17
Another great themed cache, thanks for bringing me out this way again, was just the ticket today to try work off the xmas pudd!! Cheers Tryfyn

Only notice these come up this morning. So presents already opened we thought we would go out this way today. Arrived at GZ. Spotted it and giggle. And just as I thought I had been beaten to FTF by Macwatt and co. Lol. They really did poop the bed this morning. But first cache on Christmas day. Now I'm in Hamilton. How did that happen? Lol! Tftc.

25-Dec-17
I was awoken by the neighborhood rooster..the birds and the neighbour s children crying...we decided to go and get as day light was just appearing...there was no one around and all was quiet...except for the early morning bird song..
The bush was magnificent with the sun streaming through the foliage...anf soon had the aptly placed container in hand (FTF) with a clean log to sign
Thanks Tryfn great cache

{FTF} Merry Christmas! An early morning wake-up with screaming kids next door. Just as I was drifting off to sleep Macwatt leapt out of bed and said we are off. What a beautiful morning and a fantastic area to go walking. Just love this area, especially with the sun just coming up through the trees. A very fitting cache recepticle too.

25-Dec-17
Merry Christmas.
I do love a good (short) bush walk and the walk through this beautiful reserve fits the bill perfectly. The fact that there are a few unfound caches in here, also helps attract me out here again.
I even managed to convince teenager to come along "for a driving lesson" with the promise of topping up the petrol in his car, and of course Max had to come along too. Its nice to enjoy a nature walk, with Mans Best Friend.
This cache was the first on my route and a quick stroll around the short loop (the long way around) brought me here. Didnt need the GPS to pin point the spot as the cache was fairly obvious and, well, different. When caching, you are always looking for something out of place and this certainly is!
I wasnt at all surprised to see two familiar names at the top of the log sheet after a very early morning mission out here.
We continued around the loop and headed on towards the next one.
Thanks for bringing me back out here for a cache that definitely doesnt suck Wink
