The road was a bit of a highway today so I had to wait quite a bit between searching. It took me a while to find and then my pen decided to stop working, doh! Photo taken as evidence, TFTC!
Find Number 7163. My daughter is walking the Te Araroa so I decided to meet her for Christmas day so was heading to Pakiri Beach. As I was heading to Mangawhai first I cached my way back to Pakiri. I made hard work of this one. It was not exactly where I expected but got there in the end. Cache was very dusty but otherwise all good. Thank you for the placement.
Unbelievably dusty today, had to time my weigh in there between the cars, all good here, thanks
Nice find while in the area with tmann421 today
Enjoying the trip north and the caches

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!
TFTC
*Wasn't sure we would find this one but the original container was soon located a bit buried but in good order.*

Road was quite busy and therefore dusty so didn’t want to get the kids out here. Tried it solo but it was too hard for me. That plus the dust and leaving the family in the car made the decision to abandon the mission in favour of ice cream an easy one. I’ll come back solo one time in the off season.
Started on wrong side of the road. GPS was point me there. When steady moved to other side and got it in my hand very quick! TFTC
Checked cache today. All good. Hanging - ready to be found. The blue dot on my phone was spot on.
Today I went caching before, during and after the Mangawhai Walking Weekend. This was a lovely trail for that challenge but here I had to give up due to lack of search energy, all part of the game.
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We decided to shape our weekend caching adventures around a couple of Gap's jobs... and then it started to rain.
We didn't expect much traffic to interrupt our searching, so parking was a little more roadside than usual. It took a few sweeps of the fenceline for us to get our eye in... TFTC.

Today I had to go to Waihi Beach then on up to Mangawhai to measure jobs. weather was not the best but jobs were inside.
Arranged with Squirrel Nutcase to come along as a passenger so we could collect a few caches in our travels.
We both got wet and muddy (which is all part of caching) along with 7 DNF's with several caches needing new log books.
We decided to stop in Wellsford for the night, had dinner at the local roast shop which was very very nice.
Perhaps owners would like to do some repairs in area. SLTFTC

The weather was just right, so I took two days to go up to Waipu to get in some Geocaching. Also, I wanted to make sure all my camping gear was in order for next month's Mega in Wellington.
This one took me some time to locate. I guess it blends in too well. TFTC.

We drove north last night for some FTFs on the latest caches of the Te Arai Trail. Afterwards we overnighted at the local RSA, and today completed the other caches on the trail. At #3 I spied the cache as soon as I opened the camper door. Thanks.
GPSr was out at this cache so took us a bit longer than the others to find. Caching with daughter 2 instead of GAR tonight - nice of her to join me, made it a nice outing indeed. Thanks for the cache and the series Davieland.
Headed up North with Jag50 and Merlot58 to stay in Pahi for the long weekend. On our second day we decided to complete the Mangawhai clifftop walk. We ended up turning down the wrong street, distracted by the muggles parked right by GZ. As we walked up they left and we could find the cache. Signed as JAM.
Found with Merlot58 and Aiden29 whilst holidaying up north for the long Easter weekend. Signed as JAM to save room on the log.
Day 2 of an easter caching weekend away with Aiden29 and Jag50. This didn't take too long to find and we signed as JAM to save space on the log.
Easy park and grab. Found during a little caching adventure after completing the Mangawhai run/walk. Found with Riser5. Tftc
(3013) The GPS put me in the middle of the road. Witch side do I hunt. Eventually spotted the cache and had the log signed. TFTC
On a caching mission with Keylev, Laval, Cragger and NZIceman to collect a few northern caches. Although the weather was quite windy and we had a few small showers we had great fun driving around the dirt roads in NZIcemans new ute!
Signed the log as Mini SEAC or M SEAC as we were a small contingent as the southern and eastern caching group today and it saved time and log book space. On our way into Mangawhai and made a quick stop at this cache, found, signed and off we went to the next cache. TFTC!

Decided to head out with Mrs NZ Travellers, cragger, laval and NZIceman to find the Northernmost Auckland cache (and some others of course) as we are working on a challenge cache for our D/T grid.
Cache in hand quickly and we were on for the next one.
Thanks for the cache.

Cache has been disabled for a week or so in order for me to confirm co-ords. Thanks.
Coordinate way out had a bit of a search but find in the end. No were to really pull over. This road is busy for a gravel road - especially with the "Te Arai golf course" under construction - alot of trucks. cache found in the end but a bit dangerous in this area. Tftc
Huhugrub's coordinates are correct here, not the ones showing on the cache listing page - that had us on the wrong side of the road. Once we saw Team Welsh's log we adjusted our hunting place just enough to make finding the cache easy. Thanks for the cache, all good here.
Found thanks to co ords provided by a previous finder...
Otherwise wouldn't have had a chance .

I did this trail with TW. Nice road, but it was very busy. The series should have been great, but poor cords lets it down. Most were 20m out, with one of the caches over 65m away from the posted cords. Thanks.
Used these co-ords S 36° 07.976 E 174° 36.147 as provided by huhugrub which showed the co-ords being out by 20m. Cache owner may wish to update the cache page to make it more accurate to future cachers. Full marks to the earlier finders for locating this cache. Thanks
Heading home after a week long Surf Lifesaving Camp at Mangawhai Heads. Taking the family on a scenic detour to Black Swamp as it is a part of this coastline we have not visited before. Picking up some caches along the way.
We had a read of Lostcourse's log then followed his footsteps and spotted the cache whilst heading back to the car. TFTC

After eventually managing to get a FTF on numbers 4 & 5, I thought I should give this one another go, looking a bit further afield than I did before. Parked under the shade of the big tree again, and walked further along the road and then started working my way back. And just like Lostcourse before me, I managed to spot it and so was able to convert this blue grumpy into a yellow smilie. TFTC
Out at Mangawhai for a while, so just had to search for a cache or two. I thought these two newish trail ones ( # 1 & # 3 ) would be ideal candidates, so headed out to number 3 first off. I managed to park in the shade of a nice tree, but despite looking everywhere low along the fence for probably 10 metres either side of indicated GZ on my GPS, I couldn't locate the pesky cache. And to top it off, during the search, I managed to gash the back of my knee on a short broken stick, so blood everywhere. Aarrghh...!!!
I decided to pass on this one and head back to number one at the start of the road. On the way there, I passed a vehicle parked in an unusual place and casually wondered why. When I logged online later though I realised why. A new cache had just been published, while I was looking for number three, but without email notifications on my phone, I had missed a potential chance of a FTF. Maybe time to update my mobile plan..?? Thx anyway for placing.

Popped out after lunch to find these to newish hides. This was my second stop. I parked up and got to searching. After a kongish search I finally spotted the goods. I was actually walking back to my car in defeat when I spotted fortuitously. Coordinates were well over ten metres out for me. Cheers for the cache placement!
#9821. {FTF} at 14:40 and first day find. A pleasant day trip to Mangawhai. Plenty of holiday visitors in the locality, but GZ itself was all quiet when we visited. We had earlier ventured further along Black Swamp Road after finding Te Arai Trail #1. But we had no luck after searching all around GZ, and then as we started to get hungry, we adjourned and logged a DNF and went into the village for something to eat.
Refreshed after lunch, we returned to GZ and redoubled our efforts. This time extended the search further along, and eventually found it some 16 metres away. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
We have since seen the cache owner’s note. But the listed coordinates are yet to be adjusted on the cache listing. We have noted our average set of coordinates here.
Thanks for the placement and for bringing us to the site, and …
