I had to wait for a few cars to pass before searching for this one but luckily it was spotted quite quickly, TFTC!
Find Number 7164. My daughter is walking the Te Araroa so I decided to meet her for Christmas day so was heading to Pakiri Beach. As I was heading to Mangawhai first I cached my way back to Pakiri. After finding number 3 this one was straight forward. Still dusty but all ok. Thank you for the placement.
Day 19 of my TA adventure...on my way to the beach and finally got one of this series to hot to stop for the others and with a pack on not the easiest ....
Nice bit of shade here for a quick break and find tftc

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!

Quick find on day 22 of the TA. It's pretty dusty on the road this morning!
I seemed to have skipped this one when logging online. Nice hide on a quiet corner. Cache in good nick. Tftc! No. 24
After a bit of a search and waiting for all the traffic to pass, soon had cache in hand. TFTC
Checked cache today - replaced eclipse tin with a plastic pill container. All good and ready to be found.
Added a container here...and put Fap and Gap /Squirrel Nutcase's
Plastic bag and paper inside it .
Glad to get this after a previous DNF.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We decided to shape our weekend caching adventures around a couple of Gap's jobs... and then it started to rain.
Our iPhone was clearly pointing in one direction, but a quick search came to nothing. We widened out and found (what we think is) the obvious hint. So back to the not so obvious... There are a few odds and ends nearby that indicate a bit of a hideout/hut has been constructed here at some point. We found the squashed container and mushy log under some of the materials. We did a small patch up job, but didn't have a replacement container. This will need a repair. TFTC.

Today I had to go to Waihi Beach then on up to Mangawhai to measure jobs. weather was not the best but jobs were inside.
Arranged with Squirrel Nutcase to come along as a passenger so we could collect a few caches in our travels.
We both got wet and muddy (which is all part of caching) along with 7 DNF's with several caches needing new log books.
We decided to stop in Wellsford for the night, had dinner at the local roast shop which was very very nice.
Perhaps owners would like to do some repairs in area. SLTFTC

We drove north last night for some FTFs on the latest caches of the Te Arai Trail. Afterwards we overnighted at the local RSA, and today completed the other caches on the trail. The first hint item spotted had been well-searched, and clearly did not hold a cache. The second was more hidden, and we found what we were looking for. Thanks.
Daughter 2 found a stump and remarked it was weirdly cut. A brief hunt and I asked her how far out the GPSr was - turned out it had settled down to a distance that suggested we look for another. She found the cache not long after. Thanks for the caches, series and outing today Davieland!
Headed up North with Jag50 and Merlot58 to stay in Pahi for the long weekend. On our second day we decided to complete the Mangawhai clifftop walk. Another quick park and grab before continuing on. Signed as JAM.
Found with Merlot58 and Aiden29 whilst holidaying up north for the long Easter weekend. Quick find here and we were on our way to the next cache.
Day 2 of an easter caching weekend away with Aiden29 and Jag50. A quick find and we signed as JAM to save space on the log
Gotta be careful with mint tins in moist areas. They rust quicker 1897 25 March 2018 2:36 PM
Easy park and grab. Didn’t have to pull into driveway as plenty of room on side of road. Found during a little caching adventure after completing the Mangawhai run/walk. Found with Riser5. Tftc
On a caching mission with Keylev, Laval, Cragger and NZIceman to collect a few northern caches. Although the weather was quite windy and we had a few small showers we had great fun driving around the dirt roads in NZIcemans new ute!
Signed the log as Mini SEAC or M SEAC as we were a small contingent as the southern and eastern caching group today and it saved time and log book space. We wanted to send the smallest cacher in to get this one, but he was a little worried about spiders and creepy crawlies so it was left to Keylev and myself to grab this one! TFTC!

Decided to head out with Mrs NZ Travellers, cragger, laval and NZIceman to find the Northernmost Auckland cache (and some others of course) as we are working on a challenge cache for our D/T grid.
Quick find with the use of the hint.
Thanks for the cache.

Cache has been disabled for a week or so in order for me to confirm co-ords. Thanks.
This one is probably there but a very dangerous place to pull over. With the new hints as GZ out by quite a bit, pulled over in the private driveway as suggested. Owner drove out was not too impressed with people stopping in the driveway. Alas we had a quick look but a DNF here for now. Too much traffic and trucks travelling this route to pacific road on route to the golf course.
Didn't feel comfortable parked in private driveway....searched many tree trunks however but found nothing .
I did this trail with TW. Nice road, but it was very busy. The series should have been great, but poor cords lets it down. Most were 20m out, with one of the caches over 65m away from the posted cords. Thanks.
Thanks to the previous finder of this cache who were able to point us in the right direction. Wow, top marks to the cachers who found it 75m away from posted co-ords. Cache page needs to be updated to avoid damage to the surrounding area.
Heading home after a week long Surf Lifesaving Camp at Mangawhai Heads. Taking the family on a scenic detour to Black Swamp as it is a part of this coastline we have not visited before. Picking up some caches along the way.
The GPS has you looking 75 metres back up the road. Unable to find suitable parking near the indicated GZ we parked up at the next good spot. Read 0B80B8's found log which indicated we were actually now at the correct location. After a couple of minutes searching Scotty found the hide. We will send the CO updated GPS co-ords. TFTC

I couldn't really believe it this avo when I was about to leave work and head back out to the beach. This new cache that had been published two days ago, still didn't have any found logs against it, so I made the decision to head straight out to look for it, even though I still had my tidy work clothes on.
After spending some time at number 5, I made my way here and got out to search. The gravel road here is even more dusty and it blankets all the roadside vegetation in a thick layer and I was covered in it too, in no time. I was hoping to get the FTF here as well, to make it worthwhile.
I searched all the hint objects close to GZ, without any luck, so widened the search area somewhat, but even after 20 minutes, no cache could be found. Out of desperation, I widened the search area even further and must have looked at over 50 hint objects up and down the road on both sides. I really wanted that FTF, but after 40 minutes without success, I had to pull the pin and leave, but not before messaging the CO for a possible elaboration on the hint. Luckily, a response came back before I had driven too many kms away, back to the beach.
With the extra info provided, I thought the cache should be findable, so turned around and headed back. The info lead me to a place outside my original search area and 3 or 4 minutes looking around there, turned up the cache. And yes, the log was still blank here too, so FTF # 52 for me. TFT(dusty..!! )C
I understand the CO is adjusting the co-ords, but just a note for future cachers anyway. The good "near" parking is by the "Private Property" driveway, not the "accommodation facility" driveway. And if you see an interesting "letterbox..??", you will be in the right area.
