Time for someone else to enjoy managing caches in this area.

Find Number 7166. My daughter is walking the Te Araroa so I decided to meet her for Christmas day so was heading to Pakiri Beach. As I was heading to Mangawhai first I cached my way back to Pakiri. Nice quick find here as container was exposed. Have tucked it back behind so not so visible. Thank you for the placement.

Seems like the cache moved a little?

Today I went caching before, during and after the Mangawhai Walking Weekend. This was a lovely trail for that challenge: #3/20 tftc! Yep, this fence was easier than expected.

08-Feb-19
This took a minute of searching, a fence contains a lot of places to look.

Thanks for the hint Smile Had quite a bit of traffic pass and even had one do a slow drive by! Guess we must have looked a bit suspicious lol. TFTC

Was here in January and was looking at a diff tree and fence for some reason!

24-Nov-18
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We decided to shape our weekend caching adventures around a couple of Gap's jobs... and then it started to rain.

The hints so far have been on the money and we have been able to search visually. TFTC.

24-Nov-18
Today I had to go to Waihi Beach then on up to Mangawhai to measure jobs. weather was not the best but jobs were inside.
Arranged with Squirrel Nutcase to come along as a passenger so we could collect a few caches in our travels.
We both got wet and muddy (which is all part of caching) along with 7 DNF's with several caches needing new log books.
We decided to stop in Wellsford for the night, had dinner at the local roast shop which was very very nice.
Perhaps owners would like to do some repairs in area. SLTFTC

The weather was just right, so I took two days to go up to Waipu to get in some Geocaching. Also, I wanted to make sure all my camping gear was in order for next month's Mega in Wellington.
I broke into the middle of the trail starting here. The cache was right where you said it would be. TFTC.

17-Jul-18
It was time to go to the next shade of green on my GC.COM calender for today so a trip to Te Arai was needed to get the numbers.

The safest place to park was in the middle of the intersection with the hazard lights on.

Cheers for the cache.

Found this one relatively quickly. A farmer came past on his farm bike and gave me a funny stare as if to say "What was I doing by his fence? or "What was interesting there?" Thanks for another cache Smile

We drove north last night for some FTFs on the latest caches of the Te Arai Trail. Afterwards we overnighted at the local RSA, and today completed the other caches on the trail. No problem spotting the cache at #5. TFTC.

As daughter 2 is home from uni for the week, and GAR was coming to Mangawhai anyway, we decided to do a spot of caching along this Te Arai Trail. Managed to find this quickly, without any traffic passing to see us. Thanks for the hide Davieland.

Headed up North with Jag50 and Merlot58 to stay in Pahi for the long weekend. There was a car parked near GZ, but the occupants ignored us searching for the cache. Signed as JAM.

Found with Merlot58 and Aiden29 whilst holidaying up north for the long Easter weekend. A car parked near GZ moved on as we approached. Quick find here as we signed in as JAM.

Day 2 of an easter caching weekend away with Aiden29 and Jag50. A car was parked just down the road but took no notice of us and a quick find was made and we signed as JAM to save space

03-Mar-18
On a caching mission with Keylev, Laval, Cragger and NZIceman up north today. We had a target cache near Mangawhai Heads to collect for a specific challenge so thought we would start early, attend a breakfast event in Silverdale and then head north. After breakfast and a much needed caffeine hit, we carried on north and set this cache as our first target of the northern mission. Found in the logical place and we signed the log book at Mini SEAC as it was a small contingent from the South and East today. TFTC!

Decided to head out with Mrs NZ Travellers, cragger, laval and NZIceman to find the Northernmost Auckland cache (and some others of course) as we are working on a challenge cache for our D/T grid.

Quick find in the obvious spot and we were on our way.

Thanks for the cache.

Cache and co-ords - all good to go.

21-Feb-18
Cache has been disabled for a week or so in order for me to confirm co-ords. Thanks.

Easy find tftc. Thou this intersection is quite busy with beach goers travelling to either Black Swamp or Te Arai. Need to pick your parking wisely - not quite a park and grab if traffic busy.

29-Jan-18
Looked for ages but could not find .
A very dusty corner to search on.
Quite a few cars going by on holiday weekend...

26-Jan-18
I did this trail with TW. Nice road, but it was very busy. The series should have been great, but poor cords lets it down. Most were 20m out, with one of the caches over 65m away from the posted cords. Thanks.

With no access to photos on the GPS we used cachers instinct to locate the cache in an obvious place. TFTC

23-Jan-18
Came up from West Auckland with FMZ, we picked up a few caches, placed a few, and shot FMZ's drone into the air for a bit of a play. Had dinner at Warkworth McD's 11:30pm, then another cache then home by 1am! Great evening. Cache an easy find even in the dark.

Quick find here with Gorby after checking out the area and some droning at Te Arai. TFTC

I couldn't really believe it this avo when I was about to leave work and head back out to the beach. This new cache that had been published two days ago, still didn't have any found logs against it, so I made the decision to head straight out to
look for it, even though I still had my tidy work clothes on.

Arrived near GZ just after 5 and got out to search. The gravel roads around here are extremely dusty at this time of year and I was covered in it in no time. Mrs 0B8 won't be happy Lets hope I get the FTF to make it worthwhile.

After searching where indicated by the GPS without success, I was about to widen the search area, when a car pulled up in the centre of the intersection with a damsel in distress. She had a dead flat tyre. I offered to help, but she insisted her husband was not far away and would be there soon, so I guided her carefully to the side of the road, into the shade and facing away from where I hoped the cache might be.

Then back to searching and sure enough, the pesky little cache was found quite close to where I probably would have put it too, although the GPS was bouncing around 17 to 20 m away from indicated GZ. And yes, the log was still blank, so FTF # 51 for me, at 5:15 pm. TFTC
