Colourful display! Had to ask the lady in the shop what all the bikes were about. Apparently they aren't allowed to have the race on the road like they used to - the fun police are out

Headed out to the Wheatbelt for a night of camping with B12, C10 and Geotrakka. Rolled out of Perth nice and early with the intention of cleaning up caches south of the Great Eastern Highway, before changing direction and pushing north and west towards Koorda. The next day we pushed west. Love spending time out in the Wheatbelt, perfect weather for it too! Cheers Lazarus_68! Big Grin

We have been on the road for a few days travelling south from Geraldton zig zagging our way across the state picking up caches in as many LGA's that we hadn't previously visited as we could. Also on the radar were Adventure Labs and anything else that came across our radar.
We are now heading back north to Geraldton.

What an interesting little location with many bikes and parts sitting around. The giant one was our favourite and someone's gone to a fair bit of trouble to create that .

We are happy you put a cache here there to highlight this area otherwise we may have just driven past and not bother to stop
and have a close look. The cache itself was a nice easy find and the logbook now contains our name.
Many thanks for the cache and for bringing us here.

TFTC a quick stop on our wild flower trip. Thanks for the hint. Been focusing on bikes until I read the hint and knew exactly where it was.

18-Sep-22
Spending a bit of time travelling around WA wheatbelt checking out the wildflowers.
I couldn't find the original one here, this one was much easier. WEnt on the wildflower walk then had luch in the lovely picnic area in town across the road from the pub. Very well setup

Found on a trip to the west from South Australia., visiting friends and relatives, checking out the sites and finding caches of interest along the way.

The weather has been really good since I headed north of Perth. There has been no rain and the winds haven’t been too bad. Makes a welcome change from the previous 3 weeks when I was constantly beating my way into strong winds and it rained almost every night! I hope it holds out for the next couple of weeks as I head south end east on my way home.

Cache was quickly found due to good hint and is in reasonable condition.

Thanks Lazarus_68 for the cache.

New container in new location.

08-Sep-21
After overnighting in Wongan Hills, I continued on with my Dalwanninu Dash to find a few more WanAus caches.

Another spectacular spring day in the wheatbelt. A huge thanks to the cache owners for such an enjoyable day.

I come past here yesterday and was surprised there was no cache, so I placed one. Sitting in the pub at Wongan Hills, I opened Cachly to see a disabled one. I contacted the CO and the replacement cache is now a mint tin under a flat rock.

When the initial search proved fruitless I got my best contortionist impression on and started the climb, couldn’t see anything so had a feel about and felt the cache and then heard a clang, looked down and couldn’t see anything so started scouring the structure again looking for the cache.

A couple of minutes of nothing I was hoping to have a replacement in the car as I started to climb down when I spied the cache a lot further from where I thought it could have fallen too.

After signing carefully placed the container back in its correct location and made my way down.

-----

With the school holidays upon us I arranged to take the geo-twins for a boys weekend away to the Northern Wheatbelt for some camping and caching, we were joined on the trip by my father in law as he grew up in the area and wanted to try and get to see some of the wildflowers.

-----

Day four, the homeward journey.

We packed up bright and early enjoying the crisp morning and headed to grab the cache in town before starting the drive southwards. A quick tour of Buntine, the childhood home of my father-in-law.

The target for the day was to grab a cache in Wongan-Ballidu to be able to tick off another LGA, we did this with success at out first cache attempt. With all the goals for the weekend wrapped up we drove hard for Bindoon for lunch and then non-stop to home.

We all had a fantastic time away, I was able to grab 8 new LGA’s and explored some country that I haven’t been to before.

----

Thanks Lazarus_68 for placing this cache for me to find, this is find number 2474 for me.

13-Aug-20
Have been on holidays but now on the way home grabbing a cache or two as we go. Not knowing when we'll be next this way thought we'd stop and have a look.

Mr dimor had to do the locating honours, not quite suitable for me with dickie knees and needing two knee replacements but I used a TOTT to pass another TOTT to help him with his search. A good catch by me so I could sign the log then reused a TOTT to pass cache back, glad I packed a few tools.

TFTC and love the entry statement Smile

With restrictions easing a little, we headed out for a bit of a road trip in hope of finding a few caches on our travels... Headed north towards Pithara & after a picnic lunch just near here we wandered over to make the find of this one Big Grin

Of course DangerMouse09 was clued onto this one & he found it in the first spot he looked... Oh to be 11 again [:o)] TFTC Lazarus_68!

I won't say an easy cache, but can say found.

This one with challenges and risks, especially for some who have mobility issues.

Safety most important.

28-Dec-19
Out and about in the Central Wheatbelt area this weekend on a mission to grab some missing LGA's. After 1200 odd K's, 43 finds, a few DNF's and two nights under the stars, it was mission accomplished.

Couldn't locate this one from ground level and I wasn't gonna climb it. Smile There is Christmas lights all over it though, maybe it was dislodged when that was done.

Lazarus_68 I couldn't find your cache, this was my 4th DNF for the day. I did have 15 finds today so all is not lost.

Great to get back here after being involved in the caches placement

On the way home from International Geocaching Day 2019 in Greenough. Took a very long way home and managed to snag a dozen finds via some very remote country towns.

Had a great day out and found some great locations - the highlight of the day was certainly the cache at Coalseam Park - an amazing location with lots of history. We knew we were in for a treat as we saw more cars on the road in/out of there as we did for the first 2 hours of our journey this morning. Had a beautiful walk and took in the sights.

Great way to finish off the big weekend in Greenough, thanks to all of the cache owners who placed caches for us to find! We really appreciate your efforts.

Thank you! Dad and I hadn't been out caching in a while, but with the man currently wearing a moonboot, I figured a road trip was the most practical option. So off we headed to visit Calingiri, Wongan Hills and Ballidu. This was the last stop for the day. Dad had an idea of where to look, but seeing as he was wearing the moonboot, I decided to retrieve the cache.

30-Sep-18
This took sometime to find only due to us dismissing where we first thought it would be. Eventually we realised one of us would have to retrieve it - geo hubby eventually grabbed this find. Glad there weren’t many people around today.Tftc

25-Sep-18
Felt a bit conspicuous searching for this one but geo-hubby lost his inhibitions and soon had that pesky bugger in his hand. Thanks shaz6611

04-Aug-18
the phone GPS was going all over the place, probably because there was no reception, which meant I wasn't sure if to look for it at the "normal" bikes or at the special one. So it took a while the retrieve it. Second on the Log, I guess that was closest we were to a FTF. TFTC

19-Jul-18
We headed out into the country to get away from the city and clean up the map a little. We could see the impressive looking GZ up the road and as we approached we thought we were in for a lengthy search, but we had the cache in hand in a matter of minutes. Although there were no finds recorded on line we were excited when we unrolled an empty log and claimed a {*FTF*} Lazarus_68 thanks for bringing us to such a fun looking and fun retrieval cache, a favourite point your way TFTC
