The weather looks gloomy this afternoon and I cant see a single patch of clear sky: I was grateful for this quick park and grab being nearby for a quick stop after work. Throsby seems like a nice, peaceful little suburb, and it was nice to make a visit. The grass around GZ is a little long, which is a good muggle deterrent, though it does get scarier and scarier the more the year grows older and warmer. The tortoise book of my youth was a book named Harriet, by Anthony Hill! It was the story of Harriet the Galpagos Tortoise, a cute little lady who lived to 175 years old! Ive heard people say their immediate association when they hear the name Harriet is Harriet Tubman, who was an American slave abolitionist, but mine will always be Harriet the Tortoise Even still, its my favourite contender for a girl name lolAs I predicted, the rain is slowly starting to fall as Im finishing typing this up - so Id better stop rambling about tortoises! Thanks for the cache! Long live Tarzan, and forever may he Reign!
Been a while since I marked end looked at it and saw it was replaced no longer a turtle
TFTC smile19645 Day 6 out and about on a rainy/Sunny day on my way to Wollongong in a round about way picking up LGAs on the way signed as GS1947 on small logs Thank you StrangeTrousers for placing this cache for our enjoyment
#621 2:41 pmCanberra capital geobash mega event trip LTFThanks for placing this cache StrangeTrousers
Unfortunately this isn’t here anymore and instead ran for my life yesterday after finding a huge rat under a log lol… looking forward to getting this one though the kids had a good laugh at me
A trip to check out some of the awesome places in NSW & ACT and grab some old caches. TFTC.
Nice quick find of a great container.
Nice quick find of a great container.
Found on a big day caching up north. Dashed through the grass and soon made the find. Very cute hide, however the logbook is missing. I'll send a photo to the CO as evidence. TFTC ST!
Find this but had been vandalised will need repairing ASAP
Didn't have any replacement stuff. TFTC

The tree were it was meant to be hidden had a big branch on the right side that fell so we couldn’t find it.
After grabbing a few more of the nearby puzzles, I headed down for this one. Parked across the road and took the walk through the long-ish grass started my search. Took a few moments to spot what I thought was the cache. Turned out it was, however part of it fell off as I grabbed it. Log was signed ok and the cache replaced with the broken part sitting precariously in place.
Other than that, all is good. Thanks ST. Fav point for something a little different.
Added note:
The log sheet is there and has plenty of room still.....

Night time visit to the Lord of Throsby. Don't know the book, but loved the cache.
He had another visitor - a Piedish Beetle.

Found with Eldritch on a short walk and passing lots of ducks. Nice cache. TFTC
Found the headless tortoise on completion of our 7.5km walk in Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve with grasses at times well over our heads. We walked and picked up just a handful of caches over 3.75 hours with a total 136m ascent/descent - rather flat out here really.
This was a quick and easy find on our way out of the reserve. TFTC StrangeTrousers.

Log replaced. Sadly I could not get the glue to work, so Tazan's head is still broken
Found, thanks, but log is completely saturated and cannot be signed. Pic sent to CO as proof of find.
Log completely soaked and needs replacing. Also the outer container is broken, although this doesn’t affect the watertight integrity of the log!
Started early this morning, trying to make most of the dry weather before the rain came in later on. Made my way to Gungahlin for the first AL and then more to come.
Here it was a quick and easy find

Poor little Tazan needs some work. No longer has a head! Someone has broken it off. Didn't take anything and no pen so I couldn't sign. Thanks
First time doing this and the amount of joy I got finding this is incredible thanks!
Doing some essential trips this afternoon collecting some caches along the way.
Quick find, cute cache, all in good order, well apart from the head.
Thank you StrangeTrousers for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

We’re in Canberra today grabbing a couple of caches on our bikes. Great day to be out doors. TFTC
This was my first ever find because I have never done it before but it was so much fun and where it was hidden freaked me out
Found it. Awesome geocache - so creative! Didn’t write on the scroll as it is full.
Out with Joolay to this beautiful new suburb, grabbing a daily and exploring the sites. Thanks so much for the cache. So nice to check out different areas of town
Quick find today with Nibletricecakes getting a cache for the day. Decided to tackle Throsby as it’s far enough away to leave the close ones for the hard days. Cute as container and an awesome spot. Log is pretty full and would have left fresh paper but actually did not have any. Wrong bag. Thanks for the cache Strangetrousers
I was honestly not expecting that. TFTH
The log is pretty full and could use a replacement

More like king of the bone yard - quite gruesome! I also hope he sorts out the damned dog across the road...
With BomEm, caching aroundnthe suburbs.
Liked the container on this on.
Nice hide.
Gets a fav from me.

A quick park and grab with Lpud in the Geowagon today. Loved the container so gets a favourite from me. Thanks StrangeTrousers
Out for a Sunday drive a found this fantastic cache! Mmmm quiet I think not! What would of been a beautiful area if not for the continuous barking of the blue healer dog! Pity the new neighbours who are yet to move in to discover that Throsby ain’t so ambient! TFTC
Fyi there was no paper inside to write down names.
It is also surrounded by a kangaroo skeleton

Found today on a quick cache run. Bits of dead kangaroo under nearby log - nasty !

The Mega has arrived! So off I go to join in on all the fun! .
Day 3 of the Mega for me and this time I teamed up with ZimbaW, Miz Wacket and steelpaw for a day of quality caching.
After a great day of caching, I was in need of a rest so off home I went. Swung by this one along the way for the quick find. I thought this was a real one before I looked a bit more closely lol!
Thanks for the hide, StrangeTrousers Fave point!

Left Port Macquarie heading south to the Mega event At Canberra.
A few days stopping at the EPIC.
Spent a morning around the lake, hubby rode his bike & I wandered to find a few caches.
The afternoon was seraching for caches not far from the EPIC.
A FP for the cache container. I expected Tarzan to look a little different
Thanks for placing this cache StrangeTrousers

On a fly in fly out day trip up to our nations capital to fill in the last State / Territory find of our great country.
A nice warm day to be out finding a few caches.
Made my way around the new estate and soon located Tarzan.
I soon found his trusty friend hiding away from us.
I hope Tarzan withstands all of the new development.
Thanks StrangeTrousers TFTC.

What a wonderful day I had thanks to Darkside Dan. Another 100+ day mostly in the Moss Vale area as I continue on my quest to make Parkville Event my 6000 milestone. Less than 90 to go now.
All caches attempted were found and now carry our names though most were signed as DSD and SG.
Thanks to all the COs involved for making this sort of day possible.

As I got close the stink was overpowering, good think I found it quickly. Second of these I've found in as many days.

Found on a sunny day whilst walking the area playing another game. After thinking the cache was real and trying to avoid the sad smell I realised my error and did the honours. TFTC
Found with Decrypter. We had parked some distance away so as to get a bit of a walk and we headed to GZ. We started searching and soon spotted the kangaroo carcass. After a short while D came up with CIH. TFTC.
TFTC Out for a walk with Trodectus on this magical spring day. Unfortunately, the drought has brought many roos from the country into the city. The visiting roos are not road wise, and the carnage around Canberra is literally heartbreaking. See picture.
This gets a favourite from me for the cache carriage system.

With a very busy day ahead of me and no time for caching I had to settle for something quick and easy! Luckily I have been saving these two new Throsby caches for a day like today!
Getting in here is a bit of a pain though, Old Well Station Drive is usually the road I take, but they entrance to Throsby can only be accessed travelling a single direction! So had to go through Franklin and Harrison first!
Got to a quiet GZ and noticed the dead roo, a bit stinky, sounds like it has been here for at least over a month now reading past logs!
A quick find however, lucky the roo wasn't positioned another metre or two over! Cute cache guardian, very nice!
Thanks

I was that intent on finding the cache I almost didn’t see the 'resting' roo. Shame it chose to 'rest' there as it is a lovely spot. Liked the cache container. Also another suburb towards my Canberra suburbs quest. TFTC
Poor roo. TFTC. Collecting suburbs for the suburb challenge. Always nice to find something other than the mint tins that plague Canberra.
I need to refuel the car today, so off to Costco I go. That finished, I'm doing a northside cache or two. I've got the GeoSchnauzers with me, so a walk is in order. I parked a little way away, and we walked up to the cache. Lucky I had the dogs on their strings. There's a dead kangaroo right beside the cache. It's freshly dead at the moment. but it won't stay that way ...
Thanks, StrangeTrousers. Nice container.
Thanks, StrangeTrousers. Nice container.
A sneaky afternoon pickup. Nice quiet spot at the moment. Dead roo was a concern but cache was found no problems. TFTC
The addition of a dead roo a metre from the cache was a surprise but the cache was found after a brief search in the expected places. What a surprise to see him here. Tftc.
The eighth find of the day. After the event, I decided to head out and pick up a few micro caches towards my Badgegen badge. After a quick couple of micros around Franklin, I headed out to clean up the remaining caches I had along the Majura Cycleway. A visit to the new suburbs of Throsby and Taylor to clean up one or two before making a quick stop to get Loci612's newest tree climb cache (love your work, keep it up!). I had my bike in the car which proved handy for finding the caches along the cycleway, although it meant a lot of people stopped to ask if I needed help. The weather was really nice for most of the time, except the last cache or two where it got quite rainy. Thanks to all the COs who placed caches.
Found 23:07 22/7/18 with Simber15 and DSD on a very cold night. A great container. Thank you StrangeTrousers for the cache and bringing me to this location.
Set out to do some geocaches today. A quick and easy find and we were off looking for the next one. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
