A really interesting place to visit. Our grandkids would have loved it!Once the sun had broken through and things had warmed up a bit we headed off to the Botanic Gardens a place we had visited many years ago. The Rainforest Walk Mrs SKI remembered, and it is just like some areas close to where we live, The banksias were out and well worth a look. Some in flower we have in our garden at home! You can't be in this area without a visit to Black Mountain, but it is looking quite sad and run down. Most of the viewing areas are now obscured and the Tower is closed. Then it was time to head to the museum, and finally pout for a big tea down south, that we probably should have passed on, but was still enjoyable.Of course we collected a few caches on the way, quite a variety.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache The Farmers 5.**SKI Pair****

After a long, almost entranced walk through the gardens, we had limited time to find this cache. Buses just love to be missed around here!We had a super fast initial search and our frantic-ness totally hampered any chances of finding the cache, but once the hint was read, it was in hand in seconds. The cache is in place and in perfect condition. The Paperbark Treehouse was so interesting. Something about its construction made me want to just stay there and wait for some grand adventure to spring to life around me!TFTC The Farmers 5 Smile

Cache 9143 on 7 Aug 2022.

Was back visiting the gardens this afternoon and decided to swing by this cache on my way back to the car park. Tried a few ideas first with no luck, so reverted to previous logs for any hints. Found one, changed tack, and laid my hands on the cache finally.

Thanks The Farmers 5 for the cache and the fun!

A trip with the family to the botanical gardens seemed perfect as The path were nice and flat for me to walk on. There was this cache left and a couple AL stations which we did and had a lovely walk in the gardens followed by a nice meal in the cafe.

This structure ia very interesting and the cache took a moment to spot.

Thank you The Farmers 5 for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

A rainy day is always a good time to attempt a stealthy hide such as this. Enjoyed checking out all the levels before concentrating my search on a particular level and coming up with the find a short time later. I did park in the pay parking area costing me $3.60, but the money is all for a good cause and making the find was worth it as well. Thanks Farmers 5 for bringing me here!

This took way too long and l was super keen to get to the garden cafe to grab a coffee before it closed and while l had just finished the lab cache in the rain forest l ended out this way and set about on searching the area while the area was deserted. Read the hint and discovered that the whole thing is surrounded by them….argh! Ended up giving up as my caffeine withdrawal was too strong and the frustration was over taking my better judgment. Difficulty of 3, yeah that’s beaten me before, actually a lot less has beaten before but that’s when l let fly with the cache cursing and on my retreat towards the cafe l read some previous logs and it made me think of another approach and l quickly headed back and surprisingly located the cache after a quick scout about. Whaaat?? How is that possible? Maybe from now on l will save all that time by going to the gz, simply give up, stop looking and quickly turn about and find the little buggers without any stress. Simples. Many thanks for bringing me here and the hide, l think.

Headed here on lovely but cold winter school holidays ‘get out of the house’ with 4 geokids. The treehouse is great new addition to the gardens, they loved it.
After much time with all 5 searching and my GPS jumping all over for some reason, we asked for a clue. The most determined of our geokids found it quite quickly and is headed home very satisfied.

This weekend from 17-21/06/2021, I joined georode and gridge98 in visiting our nation's capital, Canberra for geocaching adventures. We prioritised the higher difficulty-terrain combinations, as well as the more special/unique cache types.
On Thursday, I largely spent the day solo and visited Black Hill lookout, the Botanic Gardens, Australian National University and nearby Canberra Central, and then gridge98 and I walked around the front of Parliament area in Parkes.
Friday was spent completing a few hikes in Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve and Kowen Escarpment Nature Reserve, before then meeting locals at a Friday evening dinner event.
Saturday was predominantly the UFO series in Bullen Range Conservation Reserve, targeting the higher terrain ridge area.
On Sunday, we arose to the morning's CITO event, before returning to Goorooyarroo Reserve for more walking around those hills.
Finally on Monday, gridge98 and I headed north to Yass for the Birds of Australia Wherigo series, a few climbing caches, and returning to ACT completing the UGC series.

Today, I took ownership of our rental car, with my aim of heading to the lower Black Mountain challenges. However, I was lured by the virtual cache at the top of the mountain, and so that became my first stop. A short jog around the hill, and then great views at the top of Telstra Tower.
My next visit was the Australian National Botanic Gardens, completing the *Australia's Garden* and *The Rainforest Walk* Adventure Labs. It was then on to the challenges around lower Black Mountain, spending a few hours walking around before the rain fell later in the afternoon.
My afternoon was then spent touring around Australian National University whilst following a few more Adventure Labs: *ANU*, *Everyone's a critic!* and *What's in a name?*. I then had a walk in downtown Canberra and visited Glebe Park completing that *Glebe Park Wander* Adventure Lab.
After dinner, gridge98 was grabbed from the airport, and we explored some of Parkes in front of Parliament House. A few more virtual, wherigos and Adventure Labs were completed, and we made one last stop at the National Carillon.

When I first looked on at this treehouse, I thought it had been burned in one of the recent Summer bushfires and was closed, so it was surprising to see it was indeed still open, and perhaps meant to be like this? This geocache's coordinates were bouncing around the place, and I started to look in a few areas, before relenting to just doing the tourism thing first up, ascending up to the highest platform of the treehouse. A pretty cool treehouse! I did see a few good spots that a cache could be, but trying to find a micro-sized cache could be in many possible hiding spots. I then looked over the treehouse, and eventually managed the find in about 5-10 minutes of dedicated searching time. It seems like I may be one of a few who didn’t resort to a PAF to find this one. I was also confused to why this cache's size is actually listed as an other, as even by finding the cache container, it could certainly be categorised to a defined size type. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks The Farmers 5 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

#11497 - 12:54:00 PM; Dropped the geohoney in the city for some retail therapy and headed off to the Botanmical Gardens for a couple of caches and then on to the foothills of Mt Ainslie to see how many more of the Ainslie Hometown Ramble series I could collect (10 finds and 2 DNFs as it turned out). A nice day to be out wandering in the bush. I was a bit worried as I closed in on this one after seeing some recent DNFs, so had a rather confusing PAF conversation before making the find and adding my name to the log. I can confirm the cache is safe and sound. TFTC The Farmers 5 Smile

Was in the area and thought this was a good opportunity to look for this cache. I forgot that school holidays had started and the place was crawling with families. Still managed to have a couple of breaks in the traffic. Also PAF to verify that I was looking at the right area. While waiting for the muggles to move on I identified two spider species and plucked a loper caterpillar of my arm.

One of those caches that the clue made perfect sense. After I found the cache.
A good 10 minutes of searching required.
Have been here a few times with the family. But made the effort today to make the find.
Nice hidey place.
I took the little nephew in to see the location too. He was not so impressed. Apparently he expects an Easter egg when he makes a find. Poor planning by his uncle.
Thanks for the cache.

More like a DNA - Did Not Attempt. The whole Tree house is closed. Might need a disable?

14-Mar-20
After having some brunch with our friends at the nearby cafe, we took a lovely stroll through the Rainforest Walk and also to show them a geocache. I visited this awesome treehouse a couple of weeks ago when my friend was filming their entrant into the 'Lights! Canberra! Action!' film festival - the film didn't get in, but my cameo scene parodying the 'How's the Serenity' scene from The Castle from the top of the treehouse is something I'll never forget. This treehouse is absolutely amazing; so well designed, very fun, and a really really cool addition to the gardens. And with some beautiful views too! I spent a tiny bit of time the first time looking for this cache without success, but today I decided to try again. After a while of searching and hanging around I asked a previous finder for a bit of a hint; very generously, he gave me a hint and soon enough I had the cache in hand. Nicely placed. TFTC TF5!

I had the treehouse to myself this morning, though there was building going on just over the way. Mostly the trees covered me, and I was able to have a good look around. It's a nice place, and I enjoyed a quick snack and drink there before continuing my walk. It took me about fifteen minutes or so to find the cache.

After a few attempts at this one, fresh eyes found it!Thought I was in trouble when a Ranger appeared but got the all clear!

23-Oct-19
I was at the Botanical Gardens for a field trip today, and afterwards took a wander down here to look for this cache.
I was surprised that there were so few people around on such a lovely day, and I had the Paperbark Treehouse to myself.
GPS signal seemed to be affected by the tree cover, but it only took a few minutes of searching before I made the find.

Thanks TF5

Found 15 min before closing.
Were just about to give up as well. While looking up, Mr TiedyeSmileys' foot slipped down into the the small creek running through and ended up all muddy. Thinking that does it, let's give up, right there was the cache.

16-Jun-19
After enjoying a coffee in the cafe, I set out to find a couple of caches in the garden, and another in walking distance from the garden.
This one took a bit of searching, even though I had a previous finder with me and they vaguely remembered what level it was on (didn't seem 100% sure). They couldn't remember where the cache was hidden though, so after some time searching I made the find. Sneaky hide. TFTC The Farmers 5.

Found by The Marathon Man and pnutbeagle on our 3-month Australia holiday after travelling from snowy and cold Northern Ontario Canada

After readings the logs and the problems some other people were having finding the cache we were wondering whether it could be done. But after a 10-15 minutes search the cache container was in our hands and the log signed
