2177. DNF avenged. I see how I missed it on my first attempt and would rate this one at least a 3/3 instead of a 1.5/2.5. Second attempt I arrived on the wrong side of the beach near high tide and heavy waves. This one was another cache that felt way too precarious while on a solo adventure. Glad I avenged a DNF but more happy I finished today without injury. TFT(rocky)C.
It was a bit slippery with high tide comming in. But found it when a was on the way back. Tftc
OK so it's up there!
As per instructions went the right side, got to the tree and searched for the cable.
No tree climbing is required, the finding and retrieval of the log a little tricky, but happy to be signing the log.
Thanjs again for the hide

Thought this was going to be a mish but went straight to it.Hardest part was retrieving it!
Been back a second time but even with a clue I wasn't prepared to climb up past the marker, the big root is rotting and not a lot else to hang on to. So it will have to remain a DNF from me.
Checked on this one today. All good except for steel ring rusting, so replaced with a non rust version. Spoiler photo of black marker attached for future reference.
No joy here today. Couldn't spot any black marker and carrying on further would definitely not fit a 2.5 terrain rating.
Queen's birthday weekend in Northland. Such a mission to get there! Tide is in so I had to be careful by crossing the beach. Also at the GZ the rocks are extremely slippery as this is spot facing lack of sunlight in the winter months. Anyway... Thanks for a black marker and recent maintenance! All good here! TFTC
Didn’t attempt this as bottom stairs to the beach missing and being only short unable to get up or down to the beach
Wouldn't have found with out the marker. An adventurous find. No pen today sorry.
Doing a quick maintenance run today. After a recent DNF, wasn't sure what I would find, but cache was indeed missing. Replaced as it was originally, which was not affected by the part that has fallen down. Take care when the rocks are wet, they can be quite slippery.
Blondini51 went to a lot of effort to get this one, not as easy as it could have been, some teamwork helped. Nearly lost a shoe but grabbed it before it was claimed by the sea. It was almost high tide. Thanks for the cache.
Well that was a good quick find for Mr Cacher just another great area on the Tutukaka Coast. TFTC
I headed out to Nganguru today for Whangarei's monthly clean up. I had lots of caches in this area that I hadn't got last time I was down. I had a great day with lovely bush walks, beautiful sea views, and fun scrambling around the rocks. I was pleased to finally be in the area to find my knitting puzzle that I'd solved years ago too. I wandered down and begun hunting for the black marker mentioned in the clue. I was hoping it wasn't on the broken part of the tree and it wasn't. I scrambled up on the rocks and clambered around until I made the find. I was pretty tired at the end of the day with 17 caches found. Thanks for the cache to show us this area
Loved this one and the clamber up to it. Even the little cacher managed to scramble up and get safely down. Tftc
FYI - black marker is still there.

We made this much hard than it really needed to be by climbing in all the wrong places. Certainly found the easier way out
Sometimes it pays to read all the info rather than head straight to GZ! My journey down was way easier than the way up! Stunning day for a caching adventure TFTC
I was up North for the weekend and this morning I decided to pop over to Tutukaka to grab some of the recent caches in the area. Unusually, I don't think I've been down to this little beach before, so it was cool to go somewhere new! The morning was a bit drizzly and the only other person down on the beach was a dog walker. This cache was a bit trickier to find and retrieve, but I got there in the end! The tree has fallen over recently too - glad there wasn't a cacher underneath it! TFTC!
Almost missed it but got there with a little extra searching. Trying to get the last few caches on the way to 100 footer the hidden creatures. Logged as r18
This was a tricky one. Almost missed it. Almost thought the tree had caused it to be lost.
(3135) Great spot for a cache on this quiet Tutukaka beach. Nice quick find with the hint help. TFTC
Received a PAF from RussellSchool while here ( which worked out mutually ) & could see them wave from up at the trig on Wellington's Reserve
Made a quick find & then went for a lovely long swim & had a quick catch-up & cuppa/ impromptu event cache over at Wellington's Bay. TFTC!

Quick cache check today whilst in the area. Cache all good. Black hint marker was missing so replaced with something similar.
We loved this beach! Nobody here, except birds and us! After logging the cache we went skinny dipping. So nice!
Thanks for the cache!

After getting a 2ndTF on a cache in town we thought would check these out. Off for a drive after work and between the showers. Got to GZ and made my way up. Nice easy find, just watch the footing. Ftf #3 yay.
