Logs
Checked on this cache today, as expected it was missing and due to a pest trap now at GZ and the unique container now gone I have decided to archive this popular cache. To make up for it I have put out two new caches around the lake Ngaroto.
I've disabled this cache and will check on it once day light saving starts in a week or two.
Short trip away with woolwood9.
Nice find for us tonight.
*Thanks for giving us a reason to visit!*

Time for myself after 3 days of homeschooling M14. I didn't know there was such a nice walk around the lake! Beautiful weather and not to many people on the track.
I love this one! Favo in!
Thanks for hiding iammrwalker!

TFTC, picking up in reverse today, attempting to get all, missed a few due to muggles, what a shame will have to come back.... Lovely walk or run depending on what your vice is. Wow only the second time being a native blue duck!
Easy find after a 3 hour tramp on Kapepuku our group
then stopped at Lake Ngaroto and walked around it.
ozzawazza and I check out a few cache's fortunately I also lost my here,
it's not an ideal walk in hot weather with very little cover although
Kakepuku was not much better. Maybe I will come back for the rest

This was our favourite hide of the day, also our last one as my phone battery finally died.
Thanks for the fun around the lake. We'll be back another time to get the ones we missed.

The Freezer Mice strike again!
Out for a quick trip around the lake with the kids to grab a couple of caches on the way.
A pretty quick and easy find, the kids liked the cache container.

I've done the track around the lake once before, 5 years ago, when the predecessors of the current caches were in place. I have to say that I liked it better back then, the path was narrower, more trees, etc. Now everything is cut open and there's a big car park to attract s-loads of muggles. Still, it gave me the opportunity to do the loop again with new caches. TFTC!
Didn't have to look too hard for this nice specimen. It gets a fav.point, which is also for the whole series.

Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, now WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
Very quick find we could see it as we approached. We will try and hide away as much as we can as we are afraid it will be muggled. Thanks for the cache.
What an awesome cache, gave us a nice surprise.
We were very careful about keeping our activities hidden from the few muggles who passed by while we signed the log as we are sure that they would have been quite puzzled as to what we were doing if they had seen the container.
Great idea for a cache, gets a favourite point from us.

Easy to spot if following the caches in numerical order. Happy boy finding this one!!
Added some more swag and water proof paper. Covered the container with debri as I could see it from the path.
Much easier. I tucked the container away more snuggly because it was rather obvious on approaching. Grabbed the TB.
Well that one did what it said on the tin! With flags and traps nearby, we were happy that we knew what the cache was! Trackable dropped. TFTC
Took the opportunity between showers to complete the rest of this series. The caches were well placed and the hints very helpful. A very appropriate cache. Approached from the wrong side but soon found it. How could you miss it? Tftc
Last August we came here but I couldn't walk far as I was on crutches due to a cycling mishap so today we came back and although time was against me we had afternoon tea then got the bike out and off we went
We are on a road trip in our campervan to do some bike trails with geocaches along them and the plan is to head to Bowentown and on up to Whangamata then on to Pauanui. All these places have bike trails with geocaches along them so I wish to thanks the C O s who placed the geocaches along the trails as We really enjoy doing trails and getting geocaching numbers up.
Other geocaches were also sought out as we went along to help fill the day in. We were pleased most caches were well maintained and only had 3 no finds along the way
many thanks

Took pup for walk today, He led me straight to the prize. A nice shady place for him to rest while i signed the log. Muggles walked past while I was stopped - I'm sure to the untrained eye it hopefully looked like I had stopped to give the dog a rest and some water to drink!
For my personal challenge of working towards getting my calendar on GC.COM to be at least the same shade of green or darker I need to sign off at least 11 caches today. I won't grumble if I find one or two more Today I decided to leave Hora Hora Domain and head for Lake Ngaroto as there were more than enough caches to fit my requirements.
It was sitting out in the open. I replaced him back out of sight.
Cheers for the cache.

Got the bike out for this one and had a great ride around the lake picking up the caches. Good one for placing them. All were found. Great Stuff

Very late getting some caches logged, life has been getting in the way.
Anyway, apologies for the copy paste logs, it was a few weeks ago and I barely remember yesterday, let alone that long ago haha. I'll make notes where I can. Now I definitely remember this, saw a face poking out at me, as I was searching... there was no way this couldn't be the cache
TFTC , the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 8 find(s) of 12 today, making this find #1978

#571. Mr and Mrs Northwood headed out after Sunday breakfast to complete the walk around the lake and hopefully gather all the caches. We were surprized how many other people there were walking, running or cycling, but it was a very pleasant morning.
We did not have to look hard, a duck was sitting full view watching as we approached! Replaced in the same place and provided it a bit of camo.

This was an appropriate cache to find for Whio Awareness Month. An easy find in between the muggles out walking, running and cycling. TFTC.
+ a marble, - nothing.

Lake Ngaroto was on my list from long time. Happy to do small trip around the like on my bike. Busy Sunday here! Nice trail. Love it! Wish to see more lake but anyway .... Thanks for hides along! Nice one! Great idea for container. Right spot for it. TFTC
Cache Nr: 5425
We did the nice walk around lake Ngaroto today. It was hot (29 degrees) but the sun was mostly behind clouds. With a nice breeze it wasn't too bad.
I could find all 12 remaining caches allright.
Thanks for placing all the caches Quiri

For our NZ visit we created a "wishful-thinking-to-do-list" ... knowing we can not do them all but we can at least try. Old caches, earth, virtual and webcam are on the top of our list... but also some traditionals, multi etc...
Easy find this time

Nice container, had to wait for muggles from both directions to clear before finding.
Over in the area for a quick visit so we took the opportunity to join all the families and dog walkers out for a nice walk. Great weather for it. Very clucky blue duck around here tucked carefully away. TFTC
Spending a couple of days at Lake Ngaroto to do all the caches on the track around the lake. Haha cute container. Had no trouble finding this one.
Another smilie. Thanks iammrwalker.

I almost followed the wrong geo-trail, but turned back before I went too far. TFTC
I thought I was going to have trouble finding this one, but then I saw something looking back at me . Left Bangoskank99's - Caching Around Maze Geocoin TB. TFTC.
Had a teachers only day, so hung out with my Nan today, we came to Lake Ngaroto for a day of adventure, we have never been here before. We walked the track and found every single one of them, some took longer than others, but we got there in the end, many thanks for bringing us here.
Out and about today. Been having withdrawals since attending Mega in Wellington. Nice hide here and all is good. Many Thanks. A def fp and a fave with McBella too. Took TB.
I love it when a cache is so unexpected that it just makes you laugh out loud at the silliness of it! TFTC and FP.
We were not expecting this! Had to be fast because of the muggles. I was expecting something quite different! Super fun, gave us all a good laugh on the home stretch. Tftc
Nice hide in the theme of the place. not many ducks today. I think they know it is duck shooting season as they were here last week! TFTC
Took a couple of friend and the family for a work around Ngaroto to find a few Geocaches. I was introducing them to the crazy sport so was finding the others which have been placed around the lake. It also gave me a great excuse to find these two new ones.
Showed my daugther the cache and she loved it. She even tried to make it swim a long the path!! She was a little sad to say goodbye to him. Thanks for laughs, a fav point from my daughters behalf.

Today I had to have a little excision on my shoulder. As it was early in the morning operation in Hamilton and NZPatoto was my driver, to brighten my afternoon we decided to get 3 caches that had popped up since the last time we did Lake Ngaroto. Figured they would be an easy target for the walking wounded and not too much trouble.2 of 3 Found by NZPatoto. Easy find and love the blue duck. It started to rain as we were going to this one but not enough to make us abandoned collecting the smile. TFTC
Took Nahkins through to Hamilton for small op. On way home did 3 geocaches around Ngaroto area. After doing Ngaroto Clearing carried onto this cache. Got a bit wet but the sun came out. I loved the blue duck. It was nice and dry. TFTC
Headed out here this morning for a quiet walk while the good wife practiced he photography skills. Firstly I noted that the area had been improved immensely with a carpark where there was once a grass turnaround, toilets where there a couple of bits of scrub. A big improvement.
So on leaving the car I headed off along the boardwalk to enjoy the early morning and was surprised at the number of people that I encountered even at 8am. The track keeps improving as I can still remember the 1st "floating boardwalk" (which wasn't as long and sunk within about 18mths of construction).
As I pulled up here I waited for some joggers to pass before making the grab, but do have to wonder what mr. iammrwalker is going to play with now. Soon located the cache and headed back to the car.
Thanks for getting us out here once again, thanks for the placement

Trying to up the step count, so plan is one lake circuit per cache for the two caches I still had to find here today. It’s a lovely route but a lot busier than it used to be when I was using this as a running trail. Had to wait for muggles to move along before making a nice quick find here. Love the cache holder - which kid is missing their favorite bath toy??! Tftc
A walk around the lake after work and time to grab some new caches...it's a very big duck. Tftc
