Gave it a 'field projection' try, probably got us close, but not close enough.

31-May-24
I found this cache on my Mega Walk #22 - a 26,000 step walk from Brooklyn to Altona. Boy I like birds, bit this one was a bit creepy. Once I had the numbers, I followed the projection to the cache. Thanks from D B-A

16-Feb-24
We packed the ebikes and headed to the big smoke for a couple of days. Fortified by lunch and joined by Mr Morris we headed off on the next part of the trail.Glad the owner was there to ensure we found this one. Thanks for taking us on a tour of the backblocks of Altona, Brooklyn and wherever else we were.

10-Feb-24
Spent the morning with Chewinprickes on our deadly treadlies completing a maintenance run on the FT and KCT trails. All caches are now in good condition and ready to be found.Robmc.

Lunch done now and seeing new parts of the track further south. Interesting sculptures and art. Thanks Robmc

No luck for me today. I wasn't too confident in my answers, and I didn't know whether to add or subtract the magnetic deviation as mentioned in the hint, so I did both. One seemed more reasonable so I had a look, but my confidence was close to zero, so I only gave it a cursory look.

My thanks to Robmc for placing and maintaining it.

09-Jul-23
After correcting the clue answers for a singular noun, I got to GZ and spotted the cache eventually. I liked the sculpture!

We had been in Melbourne today studying and needed a break from the bumper-to-bumper traffic on the way home, so we turned off and headed out to find this cache.

This is one that the calculations would have been easier with my laptop rather than my phone. So we played safe and had a couple of choices for GZ, and neither of them worked out, so back to the drawing board, and a better-looking set of numbers came up. Still, no luck, so we decided to PAF. it was a lovely afternoon to have a chat and search for a cache, and soon we had the cache in hand.

Thank you, Robmc, for this Multicache; very tricksy indeed.

05-Mar-23
Based on the numbers we had, we had an obvious spot but just wondering if we were wasting our time as there is a lot of flood debris here

no luck Sad

Had to adjust our coords slightly but made our way to the cache. Nicely hidden cache. Thanks Robmc

06-Nov-22
Out and about with Rebel Acts on our way to Geelong for some Adventure lab madness, but couldn't pass up the opportunity for a few caches on the way.

Cheers for the cache

06-Nov-22
A big day caching in the Altona and Laverton area with pinnacle333, we were able to enjoy the sunshine at last.
We did our maths and projection, had a short look, then made a slight adjustment and found the cache. Thanks Robmc.

06-Nov-22
Found by Rebel Acts.

Out and about with Omegaman1971 on another Sunday caching adventure, today our plan was to do the labs from Altona to Geelong it was a long day but thankfully the weather was finally dry and sunny, lots of laughs along the way and some frustration on a couple of labs but we got them all sorted eventually.

This is one of the caches found today. I really enjoyed the sculptures along this trail.

Thanks Robmc for the cache.

No luck with our coords. Oh well. Lovely walk anyway

02-Sep-22
Well my second shot at the title here.

As it turned out I was close by with no cigar.

I returned today with geo_jas to catch up banter and return his most excellent GCA reverse cache.

My calculations were failry good.

My eyes not so much.

I admit he came up with the hide.

Not sure I would have found it there though.

Happy to put a smiley on this one.

This was the target cache for today as themd had tried this once before. I collected the required information and did my calculations then we headed off for a look. I always struggle to work out magnetic and true bearings and this was no different so I worked out a few possible locations for gz and after searching for a while, I managed to locate the container at my second calculated gz
Thanks Robmc for the cache

I would like to believe I looking in the right direction, but it was getting dark and I still had a handful of caches to get down the track. Will have another crack one day.

02-Dec-21
My second go at this one too. This time I had slightly better coords and it was a quick find.

Just after I got back to the car the heavens opened up!

Checked on a maintenance run.
All good and ready to be found.

Out on another Melbourne Multi Monday run, had to work on Monday so I here on a Friday instead Wink
I headed off to the cache truely inspired to find it quickly, when this didn't happen, the magnetism of the hint had me signing the log in short time.
Cache logged with sanitised hands.
**Thanks for placing this cache Robmc**

Hmmm I don’t think I have magnetic traits.. I’ve tried three projection tools and not sure I’m in the correct area. Leaving a note rather than a DNF to try again when I have more magnetic abilities.

24-Jun-20
Three projection tools later (and I now have a good one!), a big push from the CO, some googling and a friend encouraging me to try again, I re- did my calculations and had some new co ordinates. Travelling to this new GZ was a lot easier than my previous attempts that included rock scrambling, balancing on a log and a fence climb! the cache was soon located and I left a magic card game. This cache gets a favourite for the cool sculpture, use of a new tool, help from wonderful fellow geocachers and the adventure! Thanks very much Robmc!

17-Jun-20
This one got me counting and i soon had what I thought were the right coords for GZ. I searched for some time until the light faded but couldn’t come up with the goods. I studied the logs and then contacted robmc to verify my coords. Although my counting was correct, my coords were not! Robmc very kindly redirected me to something I had not come across before. Today I returned to correct the DNF and I spotted the likely GZ as I approached. Bingo. A much quicker find today. Thanks for the cache and nudge robmc! (And for the recent maintenance run)

A short maintenance run today along this trail.
All good, and ready to be found.

*Found on the 29 Feb 2020 @ 11:57 am.*
*Cache find # 10755.*

After heading to the Leap Year 2020 event and finding a few others over that way, it was now time to get back to try and finish this trail off, this time starting at the other end of my unfound ones.
Now I had started this one before heading to the event but ran out of time before finding it and had to leave.
On my return I went through my numbers again and didn’t come up with anything that was different but where my numbers were putting me definitely seem to be right as you could see the flood waters had washed through at this spot.
So the search began else where and close by but on the other side of the track was some more suited hiding spots and eventually I found the one that contained the cache.
Still not sure where the problem was but the cache was found which is the main thing.

**Thanks to Robmc for placing this cache.**

I attempted this cache half heartedly on a bike ride a couple of years ago, and figured it was time for a proper look.

The calculations pretty much jibed with what I'd gathered that time, but where I first looked didn't have anything that drew me to investigate. So I continued around, checking possibilities as I went. Then I saw a likely location... Aha!

Now, as to where I might have oopsed slightly with my math, who knows? It doesn't matter, as my name's in the log.

Thanks, Robmc... A very interesting feature along the creek that I was glad to come back to, and a fun multi.

The cache is in good nick.

I spent way too long looking for this cache.

I checked my calculations twice ( and my bird counting) , and my location seems to align with previous comments.

I checked the possible GZ which looking like a possible good hide, but found nothing after an hour of searching.

I even widened my search area and just randomly looked around like some others have, I could not find the cache.

If it is there this seems way too difficult for 2 stars. Nearby cache KCT - The Spirit of Water has the same rating and I found it in about 30 seconds.

Maybe the cache is missing?
Perhaps a hint would help confirm I am on the right track.

A quick little multi I missed on my first pass along this series. I mustn't have had it on my GPS and was able to come across and pick up this afternoon. This was another freaky statue to check out! Thanks for the cache Robmc.

Firstly an apology for not recognising you straight away. I would have been right at your feet asking for help as to what went wrong with my calculations here if I had realised that you were there.
Thankfully the CO was standing not far away and was pointed out to me. Recognition dawned. You know the rest of the story. I have indeed learnt plenty from this cache and it won't be forgotten. My cryptochromes have have been awakened and I will be able to use that sense again in the future. ( I hope)
On to the cache. Once GZ was worked out, with grateful thanks to Maccamob, I headed that way before returning to my youngest son's house to spend some quality time with him, daughter in law and Tag-a long before heading back over to Altona for the afternoon CITO.
This was fun and that birdman amazing.

On the outskirts of Melbourne early this morning for a pick up, I required a multi find for the day. This was the closest to me. I did the counting and crunched the numbers. I knew what was required but the only method I knew was not the correct one. I called an expert in this area and I was given the calculation based on my numbers. I found the cache just before the large spots of rain started to fall. Thanks Robmc.

Annoying Tarbit and I had planned a caching day which started the moment I stepped off the Spirit at the pier. AT had planned a route that started at the docks and took in both the KCT and Federation Trail, and we looked for a few caches in between there too.

After parking up near the badminton centre, we wandered to this statue and started to obtain the information needed. As my GPS doesn't have the functions needed to complete this easily, we used AT's GPS and set on our way. It was clear pretty quickly that something wasn't right and if we continued we would end up in the river. Not sure we went wrong, but we decided to explore the area and think where would we hide it. Possibly more by luck than judgement AT made the find. TFTC

28-Apr-19
I picked Lost_and_found_79 up straight off the Tassie ferry for a day of caching and after heading to Webb Dock first we came over the Westgate Bridge to try the Kororoit Creek Trail, the Federation Trail and others nearby. After a few diversions we were now tackling the remainder of the KCT starting from the south. After a few finds nearby we headed to this multi next. After getting the info we had some numbers that looked pretty good but after following the projection something wasn't quite right unless we were going to get wet. WE followed the experience in several other logs and just checked a few likely spots nearby. Maybe got a bit lucky but it was worth a try as we turned up the cache before too long. Our 34th find of 43 for the day and another multi to the total. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and the series Robmc.

Today was a day to gather Multis for the Multi Month Challenge with Simsfamily which took us to some great locations with informative information.
It seems there was a few lessons to be learnt today. All revolving around Maths and reading.
The first took a couple of goes to get it right and the second was to read the cache notes.
But with the problems out the way the cache was eventually located.
Log signed and replaced as found

Thanks for the cache Robmc

This month I have some extra time on my hands after taking a redundancy so taking a relaxing break is in order. What better thing to do to relax than some caching. So I decided to tackle multi month and I also roped Ausfox; in as well. We had made a good start last weekend but Ausfox; needed a few more to really get on top of things so today we were to tackle from Sunshine to Williamstown to grab as many multi's as we could.
Well it does pay to read the cache notes more thoroughly doesn't it. It appears we were victim to the same error as many other before us. With the help of a PAF we got there in the end and I am very annoyed at myself for that error. Oh well what will be will be. Our name is in the book now.
Thank you Robmc for the multi

I thought I'd chance my arm on this one despite many finders running into a couple of ambiguities. Well, I ran into a couple as well but decided to go with one set of promising coords. Once there I surveyed the area, picked out the geotrails and set about searching high and low. Then the heavy drizzle started . Having found more than my fair share of the COs other hides I then (finally) found the cache at a very logical spot. Glad to get the outstanding multi in the area off the radar.

Another find for B & LeeLee. They are becoming few and far between around these parts these days, but we haven't quite cleaned out the map just yet.

I noted before visiting something of interest that may be relevant. Then I completely forgot about it once we arrived. And of course it was important, which meant we led ourselves on a bit of a merry dance for a bit, until a PAF to the ageing O.B.E. from down Geelong way confirmed what I knew but forgot all along. At which point, a quick find was made.

Ironically, I sit here logging this as emails are dropping in from the CO's having found some of my caches today. Thanks again for keeping us occupied around here (but hint hint, we're running out!)

edit: dropped all my TB's by accident. No, my car isnt in the cache and neither are any of the others, will fix later today.

Finally got to pick this one up as a smilie, just haven't got back here with BFMC for a while.
A really cool sculpture. I would love to have it in the garden.
Thanks Robmc for an interesting multi and lovely but warm day for a short stroll.

I had three goes at this. It is surprisingly hard to count these birds. My excuse is that it had been a long day. I was very relieved to find the cache on the third go. My gps was a bit wobbly here.

DNF @ 15:20

My self-appointed challenge for the year is to get 1000 finds for the year, and I've fallen behind in that. To get me closer, I took to the Federation Trail and Kororoit Creek Trail. There were storms forecast, but thankfully seemed to pass by the area, and leave me unscathed.

Once again it appears I can't multi. I counted, I calculated, I guess I was wrong as the location seemed unlikely. Checking my calculations gave me the same answer, so I decided to move on.

Thanks anyway Robmc

TFTC. We have nominated November to complete the multi month challenge. Being in the Altona visiting children and my mother we decided to attempt a few canes on the KCT. A big improvement to the area to what i remember growing up. We did the counting and made the projection. I think we did something wrong , which we confirmed after finding the cache. WE widened our search area and then saw something familiar that indicated a hide. Bingo. Found it . Signed log . We then went back to find where we went wrong. Ah there it is missed one.

Day 3 of our epic 12 day / 10 night trek to the Parkville Mega in Melbourne. Razz
The constant was my travel companions for the entire trip, - Anymules and S.A. Sewer Rats but we were joined by almost local cacher Bushfire for a lot of the escapades Cool So to save space in the logs we usually just wrote our initials BABS to save space. As we met and cached with other teams along the way more and more initials were added. Surprised
We spent the morning still in Ballarat before attending a Lunch event and then caching our way towards the mega making quite a few varied detours along the way!. Surprised

Finally made it almost to out digs for the next five nights, but couldn't resist the old 'just one more find. Wink And of course that turned into five or six! [:o)] This was one of them. Smile Bushfire had previously had a DNF here so some extra eyes didn't go astray, but as usual it was him that made the find anyway! Surprised

**Thanks Robmc for this cache. ** Big Grin

Out helping Bushfire in our travels from Ballarat to Parkville.
Found and signed as part of our group as BABS.

The Melbourne Mega has been and gone so now the hardest part for me is to log all these great caches that we have found over the past six days. We have had six days of full on caching which started with a few high D/T caches in Ballarat using kayak,s ladders, etc the assault started last Wednesday 14th but not without a few mishaps that included a tree fall, a number of bike mishaps and numerous bloodletting. Some of us look like the walking wounded but you just have to keep soldering on as there is always another cache to be found. I also have to include the stiff legs from all the kilometres walked.
Most logs were signed BABS which stands for brisal5, Anymules, Bushfire and S.A. Sewer Rats to save space in all the log books. This will a generic log owing to the huge number of caches to be logged so I would like to thank all cache owners for the time and effort it takes to place these caches and also for the maintenance of the said caches.
Again thanks to all the cache owners that helped to make the 2018 Melbourne Mega the great success that it was, so now to look forward to St.Arnaud next year where you will be blown away with the quality of the hides. Save up your favorite points as you will use heaps in this area.
It is nice to change this DNF into a smiley with help from my mates.

Last night I was planning my post work caching, and had a read of this. Luckily I did, as I wouldn’t have my had my GPSr with me. After some quick maths, and a google to remember how to project, I was off. A great source for a multi, I love these statues. The hide was well done, and in good nick. Thanks!

22-Jul-18
Oh, I can totally relate to this guy. And it has nothing to do with Moomba. There was most definitely a lesson to be learned here. For me, anyway. Always go caching with your GPSr. Sometimes the phone just doesn’t cut it. Learned that the hard way today, sigh. All is well that ends well though, and I eventually found the cache with 5% battery left. Close call. Lucky I didn’t need the phone to get back to my car, although I was going to be in a spot of trouble if Trav the Rav had been stolen. Which he hadn’t. But you never know. It was slowly starting to get dark as I made this find. And the Police helicopter circling overhead made me a little uneasy. What if there was a madman on the loose? Stealing my car? As usual no one actually knew I had ventured out here. Except the CO. Funny how the mind works. Anyway, I did make the find, and I did get out of there alive. Not that it is a gloomy place or anything. It’s actually quite nice now that the works have been finished. It was all in my mind, lol!

Suscoe dropped by the Birdman this morning. All quiet in the park except for one dog and owner.
Did the numbers and headed off.
Cache soon located.
All good here today.
Thanks Robmc for this multi. So many little and big heads.

10-Jun-18
I learnt a few things today.

1. I know nothing about birds.
2. I have no idea how to project a waypoint and Googling while standing at the primary waypoint ain't smart
3. I should research a bit before heading out

Fail! Frustrating because it would've been the last one the series for me (which would've been the bridge and playground one a while ago, until this one popped up). Geocaching is all about timing of both brain and presence, I guess. Smile

13-May-18
My geobuddy Spiffy- had recently done this trail and recommended it to me. So a free day and I put the bike in the car and off I went. Arriving at WP1 I saw 2 other people with phones looking at the art so I called out "are you caching" and yep they were. Together we collected he clues with one of them causing a little debate. We projected GZ and off we went. I checked one spot then decided to check another 10m away and made the find. Quick chat and off I went. They later totted me at another cache seeing I was digging around! Thanks to Robmc for placing this cache.

13-May-18
It was my birthday and a Sunday. So it was defiantly caching day. Dad and I set off to try finish this series. This was first on our list. We've been here before, we normally don't do multi but we decided to try this one. We were determining numbers and we soon saw someone on a bike. He pulled up and said are you caching. We're like yep. He came and helped us and there was some confusion about one of the answers as we all got a different answers.
We soon had the numbers and we're looking around where our numbers lead us. Dad soon said haven't we done this cache. I said to dad yeah we've been here but we couldn't find it remember. (We looked for this one when it wasn't a multi)
Fleabag soon found the cache. We signed the log, well I used my fancy stamp. Dropped off 2 TBs picked up one.
Had a quick chat about caching and were on our seperate ways.

12-May-18
This multi appeared since my last visit to the Kororoit Creek Trail last year. Arriving at the interesting artwork I counted the various birds and took a seat nearby to calculate the projection. Arriving at my calculated GZ I was a little out, but switching a little bit I soon noticed a spot that turned out to be GZ. I left a couple of trackables that I had with me. This is a pleasant location indeed.

Thanks to Robmc for placing this cache.

So confession time. This is the first cache we attempted this afternoon but obviously my calculations were 'up the creek' and after searching what we thought was GZ decided to move on to some of your other caches. I was prepared to log a DNF on it and shame myself. On the walk back from the others I was reading old logs and decided to relook at it while the kids played in the park.
I had the same answer again so took off in the general direction but went further as my incorrect GZ was too close to another cache. I checked one area thoroughly with no luck then decided on another and found it. Maybe it's not the conventional way, but a find is a find. Thanks for another multi Robmc

25-Apr-18
Found with Eudes, ssmc4 and linearZZ with Shadow the geodog on our multi team attack on FT and KCT. Debated long and hard over the answer for E. The singular or the plural? Hmmm... Of course we chose the wrong one and had to adjust our projections. Didn't help, and we spent far too much time looking in all the wrong places before ssmc4 made the find.

Last one for the day. Began at the ANZAC Day dawn service to see th sun rise, finished here in the dark to see it set. The Pies won - what a treat of a day! Counted and double-checked to recount. One had a question mark over it. Did the calculation and off to a likely, and what should have been a familiar spot. Searched around, but as darkness fell quickly, resorted to PAF for a hint. Yes, I was literally almost on top of it! Signed and returned, and off in the dark we left. TFTC Smile

25-Apr-18
On an Anzac Day caching bike ride with EuDes, Alsume and LinearZZ along the Federation and Kororoit Creek Trails. This was #23 of 26 caches I attempted and our first multi. I wish I'd videoed the multiple attempts that each of our team had in counting the birds in this fantastic sculpture - it seemed like that we'd guessed at every number between 3 and 98 before we finally reached a consensus! Calculations were calculated, projections were projected and then we all wheeled along to what looked like a GZ. The search was eventually widened to what looked like a sensible hiding spot, and then voila!, the cache was in hand (just like those sculpted birds). Nice cache and very informative too (a fav point from me). Thanks Robmc.

25-Apr-18
This one caused a good deal of consternation and head scratching as the changing range of answers for one of the questions was finally narrowed down to one number. Excellent. Big Grin Further trouble arose however when one has a look, or should that be 'looks', at one of the other clues. Eventually we decided that the many outweighs the one so we were off to our projected GZ.

However, the fun didn't stop there as we widened our search pattern quite a bit without success. Thankfully, an earlier log gave that bit of a hint needed and s, who was on his Pat Malone in his search activities, yelled that phrase we all love to hear at 14:15. He too was high and dry about 20 metres from our projected GZ. Surprised Nevermind.

TNLNSL. Thanks Robmc.

25-Apr-18
The AD Cycling Team of EuDes, Alsume (towed by Shadow), ssmc4 and LinearZZ made it to WP1 and there was only disagreement over two quantities. Those with the the capability on more modern GPSrs quickly made the projection(s). The one across the creek was quickly discounted and a search of the likely area ensued. Logic suggested a location that implied one of the above quantities had been chosen incorrectly and confirmed by ssmc4 making a good call at 14:10. Thanks Robmc

Found on 20 Apr 2018 at 11:55 am.
With too much annual leave built up I have started to take a few random days off to get it back down again so I took the bike out for 4 hours today along these trails on the opposite side of the city to what I am normally on. I managed 39 finds and 4 DNF's.
Apart from a few council workers near the first few caches, it was awesome on a Friday, clear trails and virtually no muggles anywhere to hinder my searches.

Stopped by here, parked the bike and started gathering the clues. I had what looked like a good spot but on arrival and a short search I decided it wasn't a good spot at all so looked around to think where another good spot would be to hide a cache and about 20m from my calculated place there was the cache. No idea what I did wrong but very glad to make a find here.
Thanks Robmc for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

It was time to get the bike out again and do a few more of the KCT caches.

I had a couple of attempts at this one...at the start and the finish of the ride however I must have suffered from a bad case of cache blindness. Next time...

This was the only cache we hadn't found on the KCT, so made a detour on the way back home after finding "Pieces of Eight" in Williamstown to turn this into a smiley.

Got the required information, made the correct calculation, and headed off to find the cache. We split up to cover more ground quickly: N took the high road and A took the road less travelled. Found with ease in a logical spot.

We couldn't resist the temptation to get back onto this trail which we found caches beside, back in November last year. We loved the idea of this multi, although we did have to concentrate. Took the wrong path to GZ, but got there in the end.

Thanks Robmc for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Had what we thought were the correct figures and calculations, but with no luck at gz, (and being too close to the nearest trad), widened the search area. Cache was soon found, so I took a reading and reworked the calculations backwards when I got home. I think I can see where we went wrong.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, Robmc

It was found eventually..some of the calculated numbers needed adjusting ,will need to have a look at home exactly where one of them was wrong (in my calculations , not yours )
Thanks Biiiiiiiird man

This cache was a good reason to revisit this park of much interest.
I lovely sunny day for a stroll after doing some calculations.
Thank you for your geocache Robmc

Found by Mary & David at 1543. Noticed this new addition to the KCT series when it appeared. Mary was having an afternoon at the Plaza, so David decided to go and find it. Parked a short walk away and found the Birdman to be fascinating. Gathered the numbers, worked out where GZ was, and headed over there. Seemed appropriate to use M, but did T as well out of interest. T was about 23m away from GZ. Found the cache ok after a quick search. Good to get the numbers right the first time too. Our thanks to Robmc.

Finally was able to sneak this one in before heading off to night school this afternoon.
Worked out what was required the other day and after looking in a few spots I soon had the cache in hand.
Another hot afternoon to go out caching.
Thanks Robmc TFTC TFTS

After doing the trad close by, I made my way to this one, worked out what was required and just as I was about to head off in the direction of GZ.
The work phone rang and after a couple of frantic calls ( I hadn't even started yet) I was needed at work now.
I will be back to finish this one soon

Just when you think you've finished a series! Lol ...

I tacked this cache on to the trip as I do like a multi.
No trouble here identifying the various birds I needed and successfully projected to the hide which was a good spot.
Still to traumatised by the other KCT multi that I stuffed up last time to give it another go.
Time now for lunch
Thanks Rob

#13964. Here we are almost back at Williamstown after a successful day on the Mount Disappointment Trail. Robmc suggested that 2TF seemed to be up for grabs on this one - well yes it was, until I got there and opened the book to find Feathertop had already visited today. I like the Birdman and am glad that he now has his own cache. I was a "beta tester" for this multi so after a quick hello to Birdman it was straight off to GZ for me. It seems the Creek has been up and racing over the past few days - well over the banks and almost to the path in some parts.

Log signed and container returned to its hiding place.

Thanks Robmc

Joint First to Find! {FTF}

Well, I've never gotten wetter while finding a cache. I was totally unprepared for this in this afternoon's conditions but oh well you can always dry out afterwards. I was just leaving work when I saw the notification come through and thought that I could make the detour on the way home. Even though it was starting to rain fairly consistently I thought I would be able to duck in and out quickly without getting too wet but didn't stop to check that it was a multi or that I had any sort of protection from the rain.

I actually started heading after an earlier cache in this series, late one night after work, that had remained unclaimed for an unusually long period. I thought I would make the late night first to find on that one as well but my car broke down half way there and I spent the next 3 hours waiting to get towed back home instead. Luckily I'd broken down near a pub so it wasn't all bad news.

Today I avoided all mechanical issues on the way to wp1 and pulled up behind what looked to be another cacher. Always good fun to meet up with other people in the field and it was nice to meet someone whose caches I have enjoyed finding. After a quick introduction Pacman and I headed down where we combined observations and made some calculations while trying in vain to stay dry under the flimsy cover. With some general coordinates figured out we set out down the wrong path initially before backtracking, all the while getting more and more soaked, and finding the correct path down to GZ. We searched in widening circles until Pacman uncovered the hide. Happy to add our names to the blank log book and take off back towards the car if not to get dry at least no wetter if that was possible. Thanks for the cache Robmc.

I've got to look into these crytochromes. I always struggle to tell north from south in the northern hemisphere, and when out walking or driving, my instincts tell me I came from 'that way' while my north-south-according-to-the-sun senses are telling me the opposite as my brain has been programmed in the southern hemisphere.
Quite topically I just returned from a 6-week trip around Europe a couple of days ago and really struggled with this when out geocaching in unfamiliar places.
But I digress.

The things we do for a new cache - like go out unprepared!
No rainjacket, no camera, no long pants, no boots. But that doesn't stop a keen geocacher...
Approaching the start area I met up with Jarwilo (nice meeting you, Jarwilo) and we made our way to WP1. We observed, compared notes, made a general projection and headed for GZ. Took a bit of luck as our projection was just a general one, but widening the radius sufficiently we stumbled upon the prize anyway.
Tried to sign the logbook but unavoidably some raindrops still made it onto the page. (I'll check it myself in a couple of days and report/replace accordingly with permission if any dampness is evident).
I was just thinking earlier this afternoon I should head out here again soon Smile. The last time I was out on this trail (actually, it was the *only* other time I've been out here) I misssed this particular sculpture installation.
Thank for the multi, Robmc, and for showing me a sculpture I had missed on my previous visit.
