After a visit to kambah shops it was time to spread my wings to find some nearby caches. This was a quick find thanks to hint. Tftc
It's been a very quiet month for us, but we were finally able to get out to find some caches on the most beautiful Sunday afternoon. We have been meaning to stop at this memorial having driven past it many times. Quick find of the cache, and then some time spent reading the messages around the memorial. Thanks for the cache Farmers5!
Great cache probably should be moved a bit because of the bees and giant bushes but really fun! I left a smiley sticker as a tradeable!
New cache in place with fresh log book .Please cover when replacing .Stealth required and hint added .
DNF. Area pretty disturbed so may need checking it is still in location. I may have just totally missed it though.
Found it! Had to fight off a bunch of bees, but got the cache eventually. Nice little park
Took a bit of hunting around from a few directions. Bee, who is ironically allergic to bees, could only do so much hunting as the garden was full of buzzing. Quick dash between prying eyes!*The generic bit*Travelled up form Northern Victoria to attend the GeoBash Mega in Canberra. We started geocaching just before the Easter Mega event in Rutherglen last year and will celebrate our 1000th find at this Mega. Thanks to the organisers, sponsors, volunteers and all the COs who make these events a great success.
First one for the year!! Hopefully, the first of many, many, more! Thanks for the cache
The coordinates might not be bang on - I found the cache out in the open and tried my best to rehide it again around GZ.
Quick find with O319. Have been working on a challenge cache traditional a day for 365 days for about 10 months now. Needed about a dozen days over that time and today was the last one needed.
New cache container in place now .
Please rehide as found .
Stealth required in a busy area at times.

This is a beautiful memorial.
Thank you for bringing me here.
I took some time to read the tiles and look at the tree.
It's late.afternoon and rather peaceful here.
It looks like the cache is frequently found by muggles, who also sign the books. There has been some gardening that took off some of the cover.
I did remove some crude drawings. But otherwise the cache is in good nick.

#1058 Wrapped up work today in Kambah so I naturally checked the map for a cache and saw this one nearby. Made the short drive over and walked to GZ after parking nearby. I’ve never been to this memorial before so it was nice to take in the art work in remembrance of the fires. I hd the area to myself and made quick work of finding the cache. Sat down and signed the log before returning it to its hiding place. Thanks Farmers 5 for the hide
Cache check and all is good .
Not sure what previous person actually found, but cache is right in its correct spot with large log book and swaps .
Good luck !

#2323 A spot that could cause a problem if the playground was in use, but had GZ to myself this afternoon for an easy find and sign. Thanks TF5 for the cache and maintenance.

Unless it’s a beer can, this is a DNF. Kids had a great time at the park though!
Wonderful and thought provoking piece of art. Thanks for taking us here.
Crawled through some bushes before lxndscxpe found the cache without having to crawl through any.

I thought, from looking at the map, that this was just another sunburban playground cache, but far from it. The memorial is quite magical with its carvings in the tree and the stories of the tiles. A very interesting spot to visit about a more recent historical event. A FAVpoint for pointing this one out and showing it off.
They recently cut back the bushes but cache seems save. There is no ammo can as in one of the pictures just the sistema container but all good with it.
Thank you The Farmers 5 for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Out on a rainy night to keep our streak going. Thanks for bringing us to a new place. We will have to come back during the day to have a proper look at the tree and area.

Lockdown has bought a totally different approach to caching with the introduction of homework! Much time for homework in fact. Therefore many more puzzles solved, both as a solo and collective effort. Thanks to my fellow geo buddies for assistance when needed.
And in between there are still some traditionals, though not nearly as many of them left these days
Logs all in good condition unless otherwise noted.

I was already drenched and saw on the map this one was close, so keeping in tune with Richard Brandon's philosophy "Screw it, let's do it" decided to walk to this one. Once I arrived at GZ I was intrigued. After realising that I wasn't looking for a micro, I quickly spotted the cache.
Thanks for the fun!

Have driven past here many times, but needing a regular size today, it was tine to stop and make the find. Spot the cache as I approached and soon had my name in the log. Returned the cache a little into it's position to ensure no muggle activity.
Thanks Farmers 5....and interesting location and feature.

After a long week at home working, the opposite of fun, I found a few trips to make over the long weekend. After yesterdays walk around Coolamon Ridge, I felt I should visit some of the ground based caches in the area that the others have already done. Having done a few walks and climbs, the remaining caches were in the suburbs. The woodwork here is amazing, well worth a look just for that.
Thanks for the cache The Farmers 5

Great sculpture, but a reminder to a terrible day that still shapes our suburbs 20 + years on.
Great container too. Thanks for the cache.

I looked over this cache a dozen times before I actually saw it. Great hide.
At the time of the fires I was a volunteer fire-fighter so spent that particular day trying to fight this fire, lets just say it changed me.....but I can not imagine what it would have been like for people in the path of it.

Gps shows it on the qrong side of the seats! This is such a lovely playground tftc
Indeed a lovely storytree and such a great way to pay tribute to the devastation of the fire. Cache found and signed without any trouble on a peaceful quiet afternoon. Such a lovely spot. Tftc
Quickly found the cache. Such a nice log book. This is our first visit to this interesting place. Thank you for bringing us here The Farmers 5.
What a very interesting place! I love the mosaics that are part of the community art works. So lovely that the community have gotten involved in this important story telling and remembering.
Thanks for bringing us out here. Thanks for the cache.

This was quickly spotted by Nibletricecakes. A great memorial of a very scary day. TFTC.
Out caching with the geo-grandkids, and after a few micros they really wanted to find a large cache. A search brought up this one, so a short drive to somewhere we'd never been before brought us to this amazing carving. The younger one (7) was navigating to the cache, but was walking in circles for a while. The 9 yr old just looked in "a good hiding spot" and soon had the finders smile. We took an explorer card, and left a koala. Then we spent ages looking at the tree, reading the plaques, and discussing the story as told through the Firetree.
Great fun, TFTC and a Favourite point.

Again geocaching has taken me somewhere that I wouldn’t have known about before. TFTC.
I remembered the bushfires. We were lucky as the reserve behind our home didn't catch the spread of the fire. Looking back now, it's amazing how things can go back to normal.
My first official find! Have to admit I looked around in the bushes for a while
Straightforward find today. A really interesting display, too - thanks for the cache in an area I hadn't visited before!
Great cache in interesting location. I remember the firestorm well, manning a tanker from Goulburn near hear on that Saturday.
TFTC & a well deserved Fav from me
