During our big tour of New Zealand we stopped here and found the well-camouflaged cache. TFTC
Stayed overnight at the nearby freedom camping spot, and made sure to stop here in the morning before leaving. A cool hide here, cheers
Down south from Whangarei for a 10 day trip including the Dunedin Mega. Visiting family here for a couple of days and just had to get out and about finding a few caches as well.A nice day today for a loop trip around Riverton, Tuatapere, Clifden and back through Otautau. Not many muggles about, so a nice quick fun find here. TFTC
Trouve easy find for me. When I read smart cache Im usually not smart enough but this one was quick. Tftc
Cache intact and very cleverly hidden! Fortunately we had southlandicebergs along and he was experienced enough to figure the hiding spot out. TFTC!
This was a very cool cache - I was searching with kellipls for a while and eventually southlandicebergs put us on the right track. TFTC
Took us a few minutes but found it eventually (thanks to our 9yo) listen to the others when they say coordinates are spot on photo of cache but not hiding spot in photo
This is a clever cache indeed. The first of its kind I have found in the south island. We moved to Queenstown from Auckland recently and thought we would come and check out Riverton for the weekend and a coastal fix. TFTC
Yep surfs up And between the location and the hideI am giving this a favorite TFTC
Found it while traveling New Zealand. Nice hiding spot! Greetings from Holland. TFTC!
Walking southward from Cape Reinga to Bluff along Te Araroa, the long pathway, and I managed along the way to stop for the occasional cache. What a welcome sight the tavern at Colac is to a tramper. A cold drink and a bite to eat is a high priority, but with a cache not far from the beer garden it wasn't long before I took a moment to duck over and check this one out. At first I began scanning about at the main feature here but the compass on my phone insisted I look at a less assuming feature nearby. It didn't take long till I spotted the hide, very well played abbeykitt, it's hidden in plain sight if you have your geosenses tuned.Good fun, thanks for hiding a geocache here to show my progress on the geomap as I cross Aotearoa. Cheers.-- This log is trackable ! ---- Feel free to discover ---- Please mention, in which cache you've seen this code: ---- 3TABQX --
All we will say is that is very sneaky. Seen this type before so its always good to check. The dude is looking worse for wear bless him. TFTC
Doing a Southern Coast tour and getting a few caches along the way. Found pretty quickly but this is a cool hide at a cool location. Thanks for getting me to stop here.

Had an overnight trip to Riverton with my SO for my birthday and had geocaching on my wishlist. Stopped for this one on the way from Riverton to Gemstone Beach and it eluded me. In fact, I made a right mess of myself unscrewing something I shouldn't have from a curious object at GZ that I thought looked like a good possibility, but all I found was oily greasy black liquid that I got all over my hands. Defeated and dripping, I retreated back to the car to bust out the glovebox wet-wipes for a lengthy clean up before continuing the journey to the beach. SO knew how annoyed and disappointed I was with myself that this one got the better of me and so insisted we stop for round 2 on the way back past when we were heading for home. I read through lots of logs and with renewed determination and a general idea of what I was looking for, I marched back over to GZ and very soon had cache in hand. Doh!! - I had run my fingers over this on my first visit and dismissed it as it hadn't moved when wriggled and seemed to belong! Returned to car with grin, not grime this time. Crafty hide. Tftc.
Interesting cache - found while travelling around NZ living in a caravan for a year
Out and about finding caches in the wider Riverton area, some solved puzzles and a mix of other types.
Thank you for the cache.
Thank you for the cache.
Main objective today again was logging solved puzzle caches and anything else on the way. It was a great day with even the tide cooperating. TFTC
We're currently travelling New Zealand in search of adventures. We're exploring from Invercargill to Te Anau.
26 February 2023 13:02 - Cache Number 2779
Took a few minutes to get our bearings here, but the coords are spot on. Excellent cache is in good condition. Fav Point, TFTC

Day 9 and we are continuing our journey around the South Island. Today we were heading to Te Anu. Headed down the road and on the way out we stopped off at this cool dude. Quick find and we were on our way. TFTC
We had a little scan of the area, a few places the cache could be. But with very accurate co ordinates it didn't take us long to find this clever, sneaky cache. Thanks for placing.
What a great tribute to the surfing fraternity I used to be part of (a long time ago) so I had to grab this despite the rain that was falling at the time. TFTC Abbykitt.
This is my fourth geocaching excursion to **beautiful New Zealand**!
Due to Covid [xx(] I had to wait for 3 long years to again return to my beloved Middle-Earth [xx(].
This time it's again a road trip enduring for 26 days, covering both North- and South-Island.
Arrived in the furthest South, I made an excursion to Monkey-Island and to the Clifden Bridge, to collect two more precious 'Oldies' [:X] of the South Island .
On the way, I made some nice finds .
This geo-treasure contributed to the finds of today. Cool! [^]
Awesome hide ! Kudos [^]...
A big thanks to the owner Abbykitt [:X] for hiding and maintaining this cache [^] - and best regards from Germany !

Enjoyed lunch at the tavern and then found the cache before heading to the beach. TFTC
I have RedCo5 staying with me in my snail shell for a few days over the summer holidays. She enjoys caching and normally can log more than me.
We decided to head west form Invercargill today going to a few touristy spots where there are caches as well..
This was the last for the day. Nicely hidden. A fave given.
Cheers for the cache.

Circumnavigating the Southland coast. Stopped her to view the sea and a quick play in the swings for the kids. Found quickly, TFTC
Evening bike ride after parking camber at Colau bay beach. Nice implementation for cache, anyway a quick find. +FP. Greetings from Finland.
Day two of my road trip through Southland. Today's journey takes me from Invercargill back to Mosgiel. My rather indirect route goes by way of Riverton on to Tuatapere then through Winton, Mataura and Balclutha. With a final detour up to Middlemarch. Old School Challenge caches are the focus of the trip, but there's a few others to look for along the way as well. a quick find here before heading down to the each to do the Lab cache TFTC
Found it very quickly then a muggle van turned up, so i had to take lots of photos until they left, to be able to return it.
Thanks for putting a cache here

Today was the first of only two wet days in our 4 week tour around the South Island. We had planned a day of puzzle-collecting walks in Invercargill, but easily swapped that for a rather convoluted road trip around Southland and north to Te Anau to collect the PWGT caches and solved puzzles over a wide area. We were also happy to stop for the occasional Trad at some interesting spot. TFTC
Thanks for the cache spent a day out geocaching on 26/02/22 but haven't had the chance to log on here till now
Love the hiding mechanism. The log book is full but managed to sign beside another name. Nice spot and heading down to the beach for the ad lab. TFTC
Back on the TA this time greenstone to bluff just over 300km so my last "big" section to complete..have no time restrictions so perfect opportunity to get a load of caches as I walk passed .
As you would expect the scenery is amazing after conquering the Longwood forest checking in to the camp ground clean up and some food I just had to have look for this..didnt take long once other options are eliminated have seen the same hides before..tftc

Out and about with wombat_4 and TDronsfield for a day of caching. A couple of possible places . Found it tftc
Yay! Great hide. We had to go and take the dogs down to the beach to wait for muggles to leave the area. But once they’d gone we got it quickly. Found with CatseyesNZ. TFTC
Goi d with The DoolittlesNZ . After two dnfs up the road we were happy for the find here.
AliGle and I were doing a bit of a tour around the south of the South Island in a Jucy Camper over a few weeks. After spending the night near Invercargill, we spent day 8 doing a drive around Southland then returning to Bluff for the night, before our trip to Stewart Island tomorrow. A nice quick park and grab find of this well hidden cache. TFTC, FP added!
A quick park and grab. Lack of hint didn't stop us finding this one quickly. Coordinates were spot on.
I remember this dude last time I was here a few years ago. He looked a lot newer then. TFTC.
This is the end of day 3 of the TA NOBO for me…. A big haul from Bluff. No caches grabbed yesterday along the Oreti beach - was too difficult to get the phone out in the sandblasting winds. Today I completely forgot to look for any - but after tea at the local tavern I wandered over to GZ hoping for a QEF. And yes I picked the hide pretty quickly with (hopefully) no one watching.

We are slowly heading back home after finishing the hump ridge track , picking up few caches on the way. It was an incredible three days of pure magic. Thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.
Nice and tricky hide here. But had no trouble finding. TFTC
