Sunday is usually a day we use to do a shorter walk (read 4-6 caches max) to also have time to prep for the new school and kindy week. We picked this ridgeline track today hoping for a walk without too much scrambling about. We can absolutely recommend this walk. If you park at the waymarked carpark and walk in both directions there are wonderful views and it's a well manageable path. Some stiles across the farm but they are sturdy and well maintained, same as all the caches along the track! This specific cache provided wonderful views and cows were running loose in paddock. We decided that the boys will go further for the next one or two caches while the girls will start the return

Enjoyed doing this Ridgeline track with lots of views.
Not too hilly, thank goodness!
Quick find by TrinityNZ here.

Walking this track with Supernanny on a bit of a cold and windy Sunday. A huge difference to yesterday’s amazing sunny weather.

This is the fifth cache we found on this ridge line track. On arriving at GZ we realised there were two choices, so took one each. For once, I made the right choice and quickly found the cache.

Thanks tmann421 for the caches on this track.

Quick find on the way past. Lots of buzzing from the overhead lines. Time to move on!

Great spot for a breather! Overshot 2 on my way up, avoiding bulls as well, but hopefully will have success on the return! Many thanks- didn’t know about this track! It’s fantastic

#8830. I had to come up to the Kapiti Coast today to do some maintenance on one of my caches. So decided to pick up a few others while up here as its a while since I last searched this region for geocaches. I haven't been on this track along the pylon route previously. So it was fun to explore a new path. I parked down at the road and wandered along until the sign indicated where the track began. Slowly walked my way to GZ as the track has been washed out in places and is very muddy in other areas. But eventually made my way up the spur and grafted my way up the steep section of track to the top. This was the last cache I did on this path today as I could see a big bull on the track 100m away and decided I didn't want to move him on. The cache was quickly found in the logical spot thanks to the hint and good coordinates. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks tmann421 for hiding the cache here. Favourite for showing me this new track.

A walk up this pylon track while Mrs Popmac visit her auntie. The track was a bit wet at first, but good up top. Good view from up here. Thanks tmann421 for the cache.

Another great find, on a stunning day.

Enjoying both the views and the caches along this track. Sunny Saturday afternoon - what could be nicer. TFTC.

03-Feb-20
Nice short walk with the kids to find this cache, started from the Nikau Valley end to avoid the big hill, nobody else up here today just a group of curious cows, TFTC

17-Nov-19
A quick find but unfortunately no view for us today in inclement weather. Nice to be on relatively flat ground after the slog up the hill to here.

Nice view, great spot, fun track. Thanks.

Find #3081. A new track to me so a good excuse for a walk on a wet southerly day in Wellington - go north to finer climes! Though still a few showers and a cold wind!
Parked at the southern end and walked the return route, caching along the way.
These high voltage cables were fair buzzing when I first went past - sounded like a waterfall. On this return, they were all but silent. Bizarre!
Located the eclipse and used the lee of the pylon to shelter from the rain. SL TFTC

We have been waiting for an excuse to do these caches on Bright's track and with the team China doll here from the UK this was the perfect excuse to do so. Little blue hen was keen to up her stepcount and by leaving a vehicle at each end of the track we completed the mission from North to South with ease.
Accurate coordinates and logically selected locations for the caches made for a very pleasant afternoon stroll. Tftcsl

Lovely walk with bkj97 and team China doll 47. Helped walk off lunch and prepare us for dinner. T4TCSL

The first day of our holiday in New Zealand and after lunch decided to do this lovely walk suggested by our caching friends Bkj97 and little Blue Hen. Having positioned the cars at either end once at GZ it was a quick find for me. Signed the log and returned and continued our walk. TFTC

Great cache thanks. Forgot the pen, photo attached.

Decided that I would go to Kapiti and pick up a cache for the day or maybe 2, well I decided that I would pick this cache up first and see what happens after this. As I made my way to Kapiti I decided that I would go to Nikau Palm Road and park up there and make my way to GZ from there.

The drive to the parking co-ordinates was quite pleasant as there wasnt much traffic on the road and I was soon at the parking spot, arriving at the parking spot, I noted that there wasnt anyone at the carpark so I was able to park anywhere I wanted to but I decided that I would park out of the way and to the side, once I found a safe parking it was just a matter of gettimng what I needed and then I was on my way.

The walk to GZ was very pleasant and it was still early in the morning that there wasnt anyone around at this stage, having walk to the cache that was on this track prior to this cache I knew most of the way to GZ, as I got nearer to GZ I soon spotted why the cache was named so and once I arrived at GZ I decided that I would let the GPSr settle down before I started looking for the cache and once I started looking I soon spotted something that needed a closer look.

Managed to retrieve the cache, signed and then replaced the cache back where I found it. Thanks tmann421 for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (14078).

Decided that since I was here and that I still had a bit of time on hand I might go and check out the next cache that wasnt too far away on this point.

Again we made they wrong assumption as to where it would be, but Mr Rattll was on the ball and quickly redirected Mrs Rattll to the correct GZ.
Thanks for setting up these caches tmann421

One of five caches located on a walk along this track with the geohound this afternoon, although the ‘track’ wasn’t all that obvious in parts. However it was a pleasant jaunt, steep in parts, with good views. Reasonably quick find. #1959. TFTC.

18-Sep-18
TFTC! Never knew this track was up here. Good thing i wore my boots as they got caked in mud from the first part of the track. All relatively easy caches in good condition along the way

I was out and about in Paraparaumu, making the most of a sunny day, and decided to walk along the Brights Farm track to try for all the caches along the way.

I hadn't been into the Nikau Valley for almost 20 years, and had not walked this track before, but all the caches along it were found with relative ease, and replaced exactly as found after being signed. The walk itself was certainly challenging at times, especially after some of the wild weather we've had over the last week, but I enjoyed the exercise and the views, so thanks for giving me the reason to discover it.

Thanks tmann421 for the cache. This is our find number 819 and we found it at 12:02 PM on 27 May 2018.I think the pylons put the GPS off a little but the description had us on it before the dog got bored

Great hiding spot, kids liked this one.

29-Apr-18
Another straightforward find. TFTC

26-Apr-18
We didn't stop for long, the buzzing from the pylons wasn't as enjoyable as the views we were starting to encounter. Great spot, TFTC

25-Apr-18
This was another cache hide that caused me no grief at all. My mission was quickly completed and it was on to the next cache.

08-Apr-18
Enjoying a walk along the ridge... stopping now and then to sign the nice dry logsheets.

Made this one quick as hissing pylons above sound so unnatural and there are great views to the south island to be appreciated along the way.

Cache # 4,229 - A quick find by CelloJoss and me after a good puff up the hill. Needed the walk, and the day was nice, although breezy. Great views from up here. A number of cows made our acquaintance in both directions. Smile TNLNSL. TFTC!

Consecutive caching day # 1,791

Kinda buzzy to find this so quickly. TFTC

03-Apr-18
A good leg stretch after a day at my desk. Thanks for the cache.

02-Apr-18
The description for this cache meant there was only one (well maybe two) likely hiding places and sure enough that's where it was. Nice echo chamber effects going onn there too. TFTC.

Easter Sunday, a gloriously fine, sunny and still day on the coast. We took the opportunity to visit this walk, hitherto unknown to us, and tackle the geocaches laid here.
We headed in from the Valley Road end, walking to Nikau Valley Rd and back.
This was our fourth find. Now we were enjoying the relative ease of the ridgeline walking and rewarded by further good views.
Obviously there has been recent investment in electricity grid infrastructure in this area. I'm expecting that this is supporting growth on the Kapiti Coast and beefing up the supply into the Paraparaumu sub-station.
Straightforward find on this one.
Cache in order; log signed, then all safely re-hidden, just as found.
I visited here with team cacher zboy wonder.

This was my turn around point on an enjoyable walk on the track today. This one took a little longer than the others but all sorted eventually! Thanks very much for the cache.

I think we might have reached the highest point here. And we've had some great views both out to sea and over the countryside. Cache was a quick find on a very pleasant walk, thanks for placing these caches along this track tmann.

#9969. We teamed up with Flowerydaze to go on an enjoyable joint exploration of the Bright Ridge Skyline Track on the Kāpiti Coast this Saturday. The weather forecast was for scattered rain to develop from around midday. So we made an early start this morning hoping to enjoy some cloudy but drier weather before the expected rain arrived. We left one car at the Valley Road trailhead, and drove to Nikau Valley to make a start from there to head back to Paraparaumu at the other end. As it turned out, the scattered showers had arrived once we got out of the car at Nikau Valley. So we donned on our wet weather gear and Team Geocacher Mr T remarked that if we did that, the rain would surely stop. And so it turned out to be the case. After a short while, the showers had moved off and it was relatively dry for the rest of the walk.

The track and GZ were all quiet when we visited. Arrived at the twin pylon, but we had not read the geocache description properly, and so searched the wrong spots first. After realising our mistake, the cache was found fairly quickly afterwards. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Favorite point added for the series.

Thanks for the placement and for bringing us to the site, and …

I had a bunch of new and unfound caches on the Kapiti Coast so decided that as the weather was good I would spend some time today and knock off as many as I could. Parked the car in Valley Road and walked to the end of the track collecting caches along the way and then returned the way I had come. A very fast find here, it took only seconds to spot the cache. Signed log, TFTC
