Sunday is usually a day we use to do a shorter walk (read 4-6 caches max) to also have time to prep for the new school and kindy week. We picked this ridgeline track today hoping for a walk without too much scrambling about. We can absolutely recommend this walk. If you park at the waymarked carpark and walk in both directions there are wonderful views and it's a well manageable path. Some stiles across the farm but they are sturdy and well maintained, same as all the caches along the track! Geoteen: "can't find it"Geodad: "next to you"Geoteen: "there is nothing here"Geodad: "look down"Geoteen: "nope nothing"...Geoteen: "ah yeah there! Why didn't you say so?"Oh yes. A teen alright.
After a couple DNFs, really happy to find this one instantly. Beautiful view up here, worth trecking through the mud
Replaced container and log - shifted about 2m to get it away from the blackberry.
My pen wouldn't write on the log so photo proof I got it. Now to head back up... tftc!
At the end of my Kapiti trip I did the first couple of caches on the walkway - I'll leave the others for another day. Maybe from the other end so I don't have to do the climb.
Unfortunately this cache was quite wet and slimey; I left it out in the sun to dry while I went up to the next cache, but it was only marginally better when I returned. The inner pill bottle was missing its lid which probably didn't help.

Don’t look, I’m out for some more wet caching… why?! Quick find, thanks tmann421!
Braved the mud and cows and found this lovely view, thanks! Container wet but logs mostly okay.
A good walk on an iffy day; don't expect rain though. Quick find as per coordinates. Tftc!
Glad for an excuse to stop on the way up the hill and stretch my legs. I definitely had a peek!
No one around so nice to hunt at leisure. Tftc

Well that’s me done! Many thanks tmann- a great afternoon walk. Thoroughly enjoyed it

Looked on the way up. No luck. Looked again on way down. Found it no problem. Funny how that happens. Tftc.
#8828. I had to come up to the Kapiti Coast today to do some maintenance on one of my caches. So decided to pick up a few others while up here as its a while since I last searched this region for geocaches. I haven't been on this track along the pylon route previously. So it was fun to explore a new path. I parked down at the road and wandered along until the sign indicated where the track began. Slowly walked my way to GZ as the track has been washed out in places and is very muddy in other areas. But eventually made my way up the spur and saw the sign that gave the cache its name. I didn't catch an eyeful of anything untoward. The cache was not in the first place checked but found it in the second. Agree the container is a bit short for what is described in the hint. The log was quite damp so have put in a fresh logsheet inside a plastic bag. Signed the new logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks tmann421 for hiding the cache here.
A walk up this pylon track while Mrs Popmac visit her auntie. The track was a bit wet at first, but good up top. Log was damp. Thanks tmann421 for the cache.
Another of the ridge line series. Lovely walk. Also averted my eyes. My Berrocca containers are a different shape to this cache container. All in good order. TFTC
Youngest son had a party to go to just down the road so we dropped him there and headed up to Bright's farm. Nice to have some company on the track this time. A man sitting in the shade by the gate told us there is some sort of reunion going on at Te Nikau today and he was directing traffic. Eldest son wasn't impressed when he stepped on what he thought was a stone and it turned out to be a cow poo. The sign near GZ makes you want to look over there all the more. GPSr was useful in pointing me in the correct direction to find the cache. Finding this cache today completes a full calendar month of finding a daily cache, I can have a rest now that I've completed that personal challenge. TFTC
Again, GPS reception was rubbish, probably due to the nearby pylons. Again, the lack of any hint meant relying on cacher's intuition and eventually the cache was unearthed.
Find #3083. A new track to me so a good excuse for a walk on a wet southerly day in Wellington - go north to finer climes! Though still a few showers and a cold wind!
Parked at the southern end and walked the return route, caching along the way.
Blackberry, scotch thistles and tall grass hampered the search but got it in the end. SL TFTC

Cache name made sense when we got there. We have been waiting for an excuse to do these caches on Bright's track and with the team China doll here from the UK this was the perfect excuse to do so. Little blue hen was keen to up her stepcount and by leaving a vehicle at each end of the track we completed the mission from North to South with ease.
Accurate coordinates and logically selected locations for the caches made for a very pleasant afternoon stroll. Tftcsl

Averted my gaze. Lovely walk with bkj97 and team China doll 47. Helped walk off lunch and prepare us for dinner. T4TCSL
The first day of our holiday in New Zealand and after lunch decided to do this lovely walk suggested by our caching friends Bkj97 and little Blue Hen. Having positioned the cars at either end it was a quick find. Signed the log and returned and continued our walk. TFTC
Was up in Kapiti for work and needed a cache for the day so I decided that I would check my GPSr and see what I could go far that was not too far away, after checking my GPSr, I decided that I might as well go back out and pick up the last cache that I had left on the Bright Farm track walkway.
As this cache was closer to Valley Road I decided that I would park at this entrance and walk to GZ from here, as I neared the entrance to the walkway I decided that I would park the car just to the side of the road in the shade of the lovely tree and make my way to GZ from there.
As I was making my way down the driveway towards the path and the start of the trail, I was approached by a resident, and she asked me if I was from the council, as she said that she had a permit for the fire, I said that I wasnt and she was relieved and I advised her that I was just going to check out the walkway. I think that since I was in my work clothes she must have thought that I was someone official.
Finally making my way on to the track, having bing here before as I had found the cache at the start of the walkway, I was glad that the track was not too bad as I was in my work shoes and they are not the best for tramping in the mud. The walk to GZ was very enjoyable and I was able to get there without getting myself too dirty, actually I got there without any issue.
Finally arriving near GZ, I decided to let the GPSr show me the way and it took a few seconds to settle down and then once it id this it pointed me to a spot that was worth a look and then after a closer inspection I soon managed to find the cache.
Managed to retrieve the cache, signed and then replaced the cache back where I found it. Thanks tmann421 for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (14087). The log was a bit damp s I sent a message to the CO, was a bit disappointed with myself as I didnt have a replacement log with me.
Once I replaced the cache, I took a few seconds to enjoy the view before deciding that it was time to make my way back to the car and make my way to my next appointment for the day.

Haha, we had wondered what the title referred too as we approached, with Mrs Rattll having to explain the reference of the title to young Rattll. But in the end it was young Rattll who made the find.
Sorry we hadn't read the logs before coming so didn't have a replacement log with us.
Thanks for putting this here tmann421

Cache # 4,598 - a quick enough find after the slog up the hill. At least it wasn't raining, but the ground was still very wet (as it usually is on the uphill climb). Cache log is damp and about to fall to pieces - needs replacing and I didn't bring a new one with me (sorry!). Still usable for a bit. Lovely views from here. Thanks again for the cache and the series!

TFTC! Never knew this track was up here. Good thing i wore my boots as they got caked in mud from the first part of the track. All relatively easy caches in good condition along the way
I was out and about in Paraparaumu, making the most of a sunny day, and decided to walk along the Brights Farm track to try for all the caches along the way.
I hadn't been into the Nikau Valley for almost 20 years, and had not walked this track before, but all the caches along it were found with relative ease, and replaced exactly as found after being signed. The walk itself was certainly challenging at times, especially after some of the wild weather we've had over the last week, but I enjoyed the exercise and the views, so thanks for giving me the reason to discover it.

Another steep bit of track here, pleased to have my walking pole to help in not slipping over. I wondered about the cache name before I arrived but all was revealed at GZ, very funny that they have done that, and hence a great cache name. This one was the toughest find of the series for me, it took a while but shouldn't have.

Found this on our way down the hill. Pleased we had 2 cars - 1 parked at each end - so no need to climb back up again. Tftc
The cache name had has guessing as we walked along but didn't make any sense until we were there - very clever! Fortunately, the GPS suggested a slightly different location and we followed that to the cache. We were looking for an extra small size cache as shown in the size but then re-read the description (!) and cache found. TFTC
A quick find of the cache container although I didn't notice the reason for the cache name until I returned later in the morning.
As I walked the whole track not too long ago (and I had to skip this one) I just came up from Valley Road to get this. No bovine issues today (in fact none to be seen anywhere) and the cache was indeed pretty much where one of the cows was parked before. I didn't notice the reason for the cache name last time but I did today. The sign ironically draws your attention when you might otherwise not even think of looking over there. TFTC.
Shame to be going down into civilisation but at least there's some 4-legged company at last... and the walk back to the start to look forward to!
Thanks for the cache tmann421 - only a couple left

No campers today and able to quickly grab this one to keep my "streak" going. Managed to keep my clothes on also. Thanks for the cache.
Easter Sunday, a gloriously fine, sunny and still day on the coast. We took the opportunity to visit this walk, hitherto unknown to us, and tackle the geocaches laid here.
We headed in from the Valley Road end, walking to Nikau Valley Rd and back.
This was our second find. Dodging a bit of rough stuff, some slightly muddy patches, and then doing a bit of huff and puff to get here. Rewarded by a nice view, with respect to everyone's privacy of course.
Straightforward find after checking a couple of possible hiding spots.
Cache in order; log signed, then all safely re-hidden, just as found.
I visited here with team cacher zboy wonder.

Nearly at the end of our walk, and once again I'm glad we don't have to retrace our steps because this part is quite steep and I'd prefer to be going down rather than climbing back up again. The cache was an easy find. All the caches have been in good condition, thanks for placing them all tmann.
#9971. We teamed up with Flowerydaze to go on an enjoyable joint exploration of the Bright Ridge Skyline Track on the Kāpiti Coast this Saturday. The weather forecast was for scattered rain to develop from around midday. So we made an early start this morning hoping to enjoy some cloudy but drier weather before the expected rain arrived. We left one car at the Valley Road trailhead, and drove to Nikau Valley to make a start from there to head back to Paraparaumu at the other end. As it turned out, the scattered showers had arrived once we got out of the car at Nikau Valley. So we donned on our wet weather gear and Team Geocacher Mr T remarked that if we did that, the rain would surely stop. And so it turned out to be the case. After a short while, the showers had moved off and it was relatively dry for the rest of the walk.
The track and GZ were all quiet when we visited. We had been looking at the wrong places. But then Team Geocacher Mr T called out that he had made a quick find a short distance away. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Favorite point added for the series, and for the intrigue here!

Last but one on this track. I'm looking at the climb back up with some trepidation.

Second cache on the trail, starting from the southern end. Quite a steep climb, followed by a quick find.
I came up the coast to clear this recently published series. A nice day for a walk and not being too hot this morning. A quick find and everything was in order. TFTC [Find # 4156]
I had a bunch of new and unfound caches on the Kapiti Coast so decided that as the weather was good I would spend some time today and knock off as many as I could. Parked the car in Valley Road and walked to the end of the track collecting caches along the way and then returned the way I had come. This one was a fast find and I realised when I arrived what the name meant (great song!) Signed log, TFTC
11.50am. Didn't see Ethel! decided to leave the last one and drive round when I get back to the car. That hill is a good climb. 40 minutes to get back to the start.
Thank you. David.
