Logs
As a grandmother of a Brownie, I was roped into being parent help for the local Brownie pack's in their first taste of Geocaching. Noisy group of giggly girls. But we found it in the end.
Found the cache in a good state although as pointed out by other cachers, the GPS is a bit off. Also, the log is now fully full and we had to log our find on the cover page of the log book. TFTC
Easy find, it was harder to go down the path to join the big path! Cache could do with a new log soon. Tftc!
But of a trickier find with this. Simililar to other finds, phone GPS was being a bit special TFTF
Took the dog for a walk with my son (13213) and decided to find some caches along the way. Took us a wee while to find this one, but great way to explore the surroundings more! TFTC
On a mission to find this cache before band practice. No muggles around . Thanks for this series of caches along this walkway trancer96
Out with KiwiKatieG walking off our tasty breakfast we just had nearby. Log was super dry (even after all this rain we have had recently). Hint was absolutely spot on. Took a few seconds to find the big tree. Left a bit of newly acquired swag behind for the next cacher to come along. TFTC
Approaching this cache, and I were very aware of the ton of rain we’ve had recently and wondering whether we should have brought gumboots. In the end thought it was fine, with the ground at the GC still pretty firm under foot. We expected the navigation to be out due to all of the trees, but it was surprising close. Thanks to that and a bit of caching instinct, it didn’t take long to have the cache in hand. Log still dry despite all of the recent rain. TFTC, KTG
Thanks to Just-Lookin for noting that the hint was wrong. Initially the cache was indeed wedged but a slight mid-life relocation failed to get the requisite hint update. Now fixed.
Made the same classic mistake as geocachers before me and focused on navigation rather than instinct. After searching several wrong trees retraced my steps and found soon after.
Cache was more nestled than wedged and in good shape.
TFTC and the others on this walkway.

I really don't know what the previous log is all about. I came to check on this having not been for for quite some time and the walkway is completely open between the two entrances I walked between - those being Tararua Close over in Aotea and the Warspite Ave entrance opposite Driver Crescent closest to the cache. Took me a minute to find the right tree as it always does but the cache was all good if a little exposed.
Note that the track heading southwest from here to Champion street is closed for pipework. Access is still fine coming the north and east of here.

On my way to band practice and had time to at least find the first cache. (From Warspite st). Well it took 10 minutes to walk across the road ( 3pm school traffic) only to discover this track is closed for 2 years while wastewater pipes are being replaced. Not sure if this effects the caches as I am not from these parts. Another 10 minutes to get back across the road. Oops time for band practice.
After another go, I was able to succeed.
My problem turned out that I was looking for a big tree near GZ... and not the obviously bigger tree I kept passing. Hahaha!

I need to remember to check activity before setting off.
My coordinates kept flipping in the area too and was flip-flopping between the two.
I need to come back another time.

Co-ords were a little bit off, or maybe it was just my GPS under the trees.. luckily the hint was there to tell me everything I needed to know! The last cache on our little Bothamley Park adventure today. TFTC
Lovely sunny day in BP, birds chirping, etc. Snug hide, in good order. TFTC and the quartet of caches along this stretch of the Park
GPS drifting, so got to roughly the right spot and started searching. Took a bit of time before I flicked up to which was the 'big' tree. After that, a quick find. Cache in very good condition, tftc.
I had a bit of free time while in the area today and paid a very enjoyable visit to the park. This was my first stop and was an instant find. The cache is in good condition, thanks very much.
Quick find on this pleasant wee trail, now for the return leg. Thanks for series trancer96!
Took the family for this one,
Surprisingly, one of the little ones remembered it and tracked it for us

A lovely sunny day for the last day of summer so Jaeh68 and I decided to go for a walk and find a cache. I've never been to this park before but I will come back. Thanks for bringing me here. TFTC.
Sorry to be the bringer of frustrating news NoLandBeyond - the cache is still in place and no fancy moves needed to retrieve it. Photo included here.
Can anyone confirm if this is still here? Tried finding it but couldn't see anything
I visited Bothamley Park and walked the three arms of the track, collecting the caches that trancer96 had placed since the last time I was here. It was a chilly calm morning with passing showers, so there were only a handful of other walkers and MTBers around.
The CO's maintenance log says he doesn't really like this hide. Although it's more traditional than most of his it was still a cool hide in a massive tree that I wasn't really expecting to see. And I liked the arrangement of the camouflage!
At this point I should have turned up towards the Lemmings cache, but I didn't have it on my roadmap. Instead I turned around and headed towards the Champion Street entrance; I ended up driving to the Lemmings cache later on.
Thanks for my fourth trancer96 find of the day.

Came to see what's going on here. Took me a couple of minutes to find the right place which I didn't expect. Anyway the container seems fine but the log was missing as noted several logs back. A new RITR logbook is now in place using the old container. The original hiding spot didn't seem very suitable to me nowadays so I put it in a more traditional place and covered with some sticks and litter.
Not exactly a great hide here and if I come up with a better one in this area I will archive this one. Will leave it be for now though.

Muggles had got to this one and left things on the ground. I’ve put what was left of the log book and container up in the tree, covered but will need some tlc
Found muggled on the ground so put back in tree- mightn’t be the original place. (Will message co) Thanks
Just followed the GPS for this one and it lead me straight to the cache for an easy find.

On the way back down the track, and just one more! Squeezed in this cache to give me six finds for the day. Quick find in the logical location.
Many thanks for the caches today. My watch said I had completed a 6.5km walk around the park today when I got back to the car. Happy with that.

Out for an afternoon stroll grabbing a few caches. Quickly spotted and signed. Thanks for the cache.
Quick find in a cool spot. Dropped new TB thats at the start of race! Go bug go!
Again, relying on dodgy phone GPS under the trees wasn't helpful - what classifies as a large one? In the end I had to switch to satellite view to get a feel for where I should be, and that was some distance away. As I got closer, the hint object was very much obvious and I found the cache shortly after. All good here, and TFTC
Found lying on the ground and open. No log so left a signed piece of paper and returned to likely hiding place.
Needs maintenance. Found on floor without log. Returned container to likely hiding place.
Popped down a side track for this quick find, and was not disappointed. Had to look around a bit before locating the hint, but very obvious once I did so. Tftc!
Pretty cool find definitely started searching too early along the track, got there in the end TFTC
Second time lucky for this one. GPS wasn't working great but Buck Mum came to the rescue. TFTC
Am enjoying this run. This one a little harder to find for a beginner but sure you wood get it with all the clues
Needed a cache today to deal to a dot day. Got one further along this track a couple of days ago, and my intention is to look for other ones nearby on other dot days! Located the cache without too much effort. It wasn’t difficult to spot, as per the first photo attached. Now a little better hidden, as per the second photo! #2661. TFTC.
A quick find whilst enjoying this series of caches placed in Bothamley Park. Thanks for the cache.
Out and about with Flowerydaze on a cold morning threatening with rain. The fourth of this series we found today. A quick find and as the CO said a simple hide. But the rain which had been holding off, came on just when we had finished this one so we called it a day. TFTC
I hadn't visited this cache since I placed it and despite not being a great hide it has, at least, resisted muggling so far. All's well here although I have an idea how to improve it slightly when I next visit.
As usual, the only people on the path were me, and some other guy how was standing right near where I needed to exit the path for the cache. He didn't look like a cacher, so I wandered past and then back once the coast was clear. All safe and dry here. TFTC.
