Spring Victorian Incursion 2024.Day Six: Merri-bek (which ProjectGC is still calling Moreland at this point).Weather: the wind was back briefly, but generally a great day.I imagine that many parks across Melbourne have got a mess to clean up today after the high winds yesterday, and here is no exception. Fortunately the carnage is away from the cache. Nice work on the cache, but this seems like a strange place to put it, as it looks so out of place. The log is in its final days. Thanks for this hide Cliff5009 and nirgalagrin.
Swung past here while walking around the local area. Thankfully there was no muggles in the neighboring apartment and was able to poke around with out arousing suspicion. Found the creatively hidden cache with no problems.
We didnt give up and kept trying. It wasnt quite where the location metres said. Its worth not giving up
TBS picked me up on his way to a job so we thought we would grab a quick cache on our way back before Miss D was due to be picked up. Nice little hideTFTC
Jo2022AUS was in Melb for soccer training and I was in Melb for work so we met up to grab a couple of caches. Nice hide here found by Jo2022AUS. TFTC
I found this cache today on my Mega Geocaching Walk #12 - a 35,500 step walk from Glenroy Station, through Strathmore Heights, Oak Park, Pascoe Vale and on to Coburg Station. A very easy find at GZ but a man doing some stuff with his car on the other side of the fence meant that I had to be stealthy. Thanks from D B-A
Came back to this one today after a long time between drinks. Got it rather easily. Thank you nirgalagrin for looking after this one
I needed a tree climb cache for today for a challenge cache, so I headed to this area to get one. Nice quick find here today. My thanks for the cache, Cliff5009, adopted by nirgalagrin.
Lifted up the correct rock but there was only a bug. After some digging it still wasn’t there.

On a maintenance run to check a few of my hides and get a bit of exercise...
The cache and log are fine here.

I don’t know if the houses nearby have been there the whole time, but I feel watched (I didn’t see anyone) logging this.
Cheers!

Lest We Forget.
Having attended your breakfast event and CITO this morning, it is now time to find the last cache on your list.
A nice quick find in a well known style of hide.
Remembering those who Served and this style of cache are often a part of my geocaching plans.
Put the kettle on.

I thought this was an appropriate one for today. Lest we forget those who fought for us. Tftc
With the inner container refreshed, and a new log sheet, the cache is ready for action.
Found this one, but couldn't remove the log for the life of me, even with the tools I had brought. Might I recommend some maintenance and updating the attributes? Thanks
11878 Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1030. The Mega is complete and we are making our way over the Wyndham Vale for a couple of days. Another LGA. SL Tnx Cliff5009 / nirgalagin
Had trouble here and returned to the car for a tool. The rain has caused an expansion in the plug. May need to be checked.

Staying nearby before we fly to WA. Grabbed this one while in the area after reading memorials and plaques. tftc
A nice lil hide in an interesting area. After having a look around and reading some plaques we headed over to make the find. Clever hide.

My last Melbourne find for this trip and an appropriate one two days before Anzac Day.
The cap extraction took all my teeth pulling practice to get out.

Suscoe was in Melbourne today for family business.
It was a delightful day with sun and some cloud and a mild temperature.
Autumn days are the best when they are like this one.
Thanks to Cliff5009 for this hide, a nice spot, great old memorial too.

Unfortunately, the log was super wet but a quick find was made just as the shower eased off. Thanks for the cache.
Heading into town for dinner with my boys, so a bit of caching in the area beforehand.
Easily spotted in its location. Not quite what you expect to see there. The logbook is unfortunately quite damp.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, nirgalagrin

Nice easy find, nice camo too. Unfortunately log still damp, hard to sign without damaging it.

Another day out with Omegaman 1971 to finish off the year, this is one of the caches we found on our travels of the area, the roads were very quiet for a midweek day, but that made it easier to get around and most parks we visited seemed deserted.
Thanks nirgalagrin for the cache.

Last caching day of the year, and last chance to get out and about for a few laughs with my buddy Rebel Acts.
Certainly didn't feel like a weekday, absolutely love Christmas holidays.
Cheers for the cache and the opportunity to add a smiley to the map.

After a fun pre-Cristmas gathering with family members, at the Coburg Lake Reserve, this is one of the caches we found as we headed homeward.
**FEEDBACK TO CO.** The log here is very wet, almost impossible to record a visit.
Thanks nirgalagrin for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Well this was worth coming over for. Quick find but a nice one, great job, TFTC!0
That was a gem of a cache and very creative. Also had lived in the next suburb for years but never been to this park which was a treat. TFTC
Didn't hang around due to blustery conditions. Maybe a bit close to overlooking apartments?
Found at 4:35 pm.
We only had a few hours today so decided to work on completing the RSL WhereIGo in the northern suburbs areas. The traffic was good on a Sunday so we had some spare time to look for some other caches along the way.
After completing the clues we headed over here for this one. Wow, now that is close to those houses...luckily even though all there washing was hung out they were indoors so a quick sign and we were away.
Thanks Cliff5009 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Lest we forget. Not many muggles around on this lovely day in this pleasant park. Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC.
All was quiet when we arrived in this memorial park. Accurate coordinates and a familiar style of hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Cliff5009 for the cache.
Have flown down to Melbourne from Sydney for a 2 week training course at the Melbourne Tullamarine Airport Air Traffic Control Centre, but my main interest will be in collecting as many Victorian (VK3 in HAM radio terms) caches as possible during my free time away from the workplace. My primary caching target areas will be the Woodlands Historic Park (with it’s 100 plus caches), the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail, the Outer Circle Railway Trail, the Donaldson’s Creek Trail, the Ruffey Creek Trail, Eltham (Diamond Valley Railway), and the suburbs surrounding my Essendon apartment. This was the 4th of 6 finds for the day, and the 54th of 242 finds for the trip.
It was a bit wet for my after work caching activities today, so just visited a few parks around Pascoe Vale with an umbrella to at least make a few finds for the day.
Rogers Memorial Reserve was next for this one, and another nice quick find after passing the impressive War Memorial. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC Cliff5009.

Great little spot. Sounds of children playing, gardeners gardening and people just getting on ... TFTC
Out with xambo4u, we were chasing shadows, fingerprints and footprints with extras along the way. Always good to take time to ‘remember those who served’ An easy find. Thanks Cliff5009
Out and about with echidna44 for another enjoy day of caching with a new challenge in mind. Its to catch a jewel thief. Having done some prep on what we needed it we are now on their track. Parked and walked across the road to pay our respects. Made the easy find. Thanks for the cache Cliff5009
It was a good hiding spot as we go there quite a bit for Scouts and Marching to the RSL but never knew it was there it was a tricky one cause i never thought it could be in that location

A popular place for us having attended numerous Anzac Day ceremonies here. A nice little cache found on a cool morning. A first find after a number of years in 'hibernation'. TFTC.
Another quick stop on the way home from work. Great container, hidden well, but would be good for kids and new cachers. Thanks!
Came back to right the DNF after we unfortunately came when the cache was removed for maintenance easy find in a cute park, we sat on the grass in the sunshine and ate some pasties while we signed the log book. Thanks for this one!
