Right where I thought it would be, still dumb enough to run over in socks haha. My bad ! Awesome cache, another one ticked off while the baby is sleeping in the car
I'm down in Auckland for a geocaching weekend with Yvettetb. It was her birthday yesterday and I wanted some cache numbers to bring my December finds up hence the plan to hit Auckland. We did the walks in Long Bay Regional Park on Friday, walking 18.7kms and got 30 caches (including AdLabs). Saturday we cached around Lake Pupuke and got 27 caches with 10.8kms of walking. Today we did Devonport so we could attend the Narrow Neck Event. Only 9.3kms walked today but it was very much up and down the mountain at North Head. 16 caches for me today. After this mornings walking I wanted some numbers for the Summer Solstice souvenir. In the 2.5 hours we had left before the event we grabbed quite a few caches in the area. Outfits weren't my thing today. I wasn't in a bikini on the beaches and I didn't have appropriate golfing attire either. Luckily my non descipt clothing didn't cause the troll to get upset while hunting for the cache. Thanks for the quick and easy find here today
What an unexpected quick find at GZ and a cute little bridge, no trolls around today. Thanks for the great cache.Day three of my birthday long weekend and what better way to celebrate than by going geocaching with Lis's Crew. What a great summers day for caching in/around Devonport to coincide with the Dip and Strike Event at Narrow Neck Beach later this afternoon.
**#19,564****10.44am**After the thrill of the 7th FTF for the weekend we celebrated by finding another cache down the road, quick fossick and the cache was soon spotted, nice biggie here!!
For some reason weve never got around to doing this one, though weve been nearby many times. Decided to head this way today on a sunny afternoon. The cache turned out to be much easier than Id been imagining and just loved the size. Tftc
Cool size. Easy find. I need to come back to fill it with the big box of swags I own... Tftc
#429I had a route mapped out in my head but changed the route when I saw that this was a large cache. Love a big cache! No golfers around to troll today.
See the note below by FMZ. He rescued this and put it back where it should be - such a lucky find or it would have been lost. TYFTC!
Funny story...
So I was looking for another cache about a kilometre away from this one, and found a large ammocan, obviously a geocache, with a logbook. It clearly wasn't meant to be there (too close to another cache, names in logbook from geocaching.com) so I took it away in the hopes I could figure out who it belongs to.
At home, after doing quite a bit of research - made much more difficult by the way the website now tries to obfuscate other cachers' finds, and only shows their last 1000 - I managed to figure out it was this cache.
So a return journey over the bridge, and this cache is now back where it should be, trolling the golfers. Hopefully whoever took it and tossed it elsewhere has lost interest and doesn't cone back to mess with it any more.

Was in the area today to collect cache numbers and with a few adventure labs nearby, decided upon here for the task......On the bike for faster commuting times between caches.....later on in the afternoon this option really paid off, when the thunder storm hit suddenly.........
Cache is all good, signed in as SAC sometimes to save space in the logbooks........no need for logbook space saving at this good sized cache.....
TFTC.

Out for another solo mission to boost calendar date numbers while the other half works. The target area today is the Devonport peninsula.
Once I realised where the hide was I nearly opted to leave this one for when I was with the other half. But after a moment I decided to give it a go, and soon had the container extracted. Such a nice big container for an urban hide, thanks.

M24: how does this cache have so very little favorite points? I love finding large caches like this and luckily, the ground wasn't slippery today to retrieve it.
A nice and easy cache to find here. TFTC.
FP given too.

oo i loved the location and the container of this however the log book was completely soaked so it needs replacing
thank you so much
thank you so much
log is a bit wet but we signed, super great hide. found with puttg. have added some travel bugs
In the area for a leg spread and ended up doing some impromptu caching. Unfortunately that meant I was without a pen which is sub-par in this game (but would be excellent if I was over the bridge). Quickly located the cache but was surprised to find such a damp logbook in this type of container. Some swag for swaps would be good too. I took a photo for proof of the find which I’ll send to the CO. I left the TB for the next finder. Thanks for the clip clop clip clopping cache!
I replaced with a nice new LARGE cache, and also dropped a trackable for the first person to visit again.
Up in Auckland again to pick up 2 Large for challenge which were in Devenport
Great Place
Log book Wet ,but got our name on the paper {No Container} needs maintenance
But a nice quick find thanks

Keen to grab this one whilst passing close by and parked about 80 metres away. I headed to GZ just as a golfer appeared and asked if I was hiding from the golf balls- yep I guess so. Soon had the log-book in hand but there was no container here - nothing, just the book in it's zip-lock. Might need a CO check I guess.
Today is a 5-day, a self-imposed 'improve to double digits day', another milestone (or is that another millstone?) towards world/stats domination - or not. With a plan to work from home for the afternoon, and having been over at Devonport (and placing a new cache) I was set to start to reel in some of the many options available on my (convoluted) route home. Ended up finding 7 caches, with 2 DNFs so not too bad.

Nice quick find with PhilBirdBoys, went straight to the correct side. Log book is rather damp. TFTC.
There were a few stragglers on the golf course but nobody seemed interested in us. We trolled each other, and I was sent in to retrieve the cache and sign the log for all of us including the geohound.
Loved this one! Cool location, excellent condition, and the name and description were pretty great too. Signed (well, calligraphied) the log and replaced. TFTC and a FP for this one too
Super easy find! Not sure about the high terrain rating but found it thanks to the hint! TFTC
I had to go at this one twice, during my first approach to GZ there was a group of teenage girls practicing their dance moves I went back to my car on Vauxhall road and then decided to come down on my way home just to check if everyone had moved on. Luckily they had, it only took a few second after that to spot the cache and recover it. TFTC
Not many golfers around today, just a couple who had just moved on to the next hole so the area was all mine. Was a quick find, contrary to what I had expected with scuba gear required as one of the attributes. Cache is in good condition, nice and dry. Yay for the leap day smiley. Tftc
Nice find while in the area with tmann421 today
Enjoying the trip north and the caches
Signed log as tm/ww NZ

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
*We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.*
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!

I just had to take advantage of the great weather forecast for this weekend. The decision was made to head out to Devonport to find the many recently placed caches that have appeared.
I decided to leave home early before the traffic jam I just knew Lake Rd would turn into and also to hit muggle-centric locations in Devonport before too many people were up and about.
Thankfully as I approached GZ the golfers were just heading off in the opposite direction to where I had to search. I scrambled down and soon located the cache.

Trying to collect the rest of the caches around Devonport.Managed to make our way to this one without getting wet.Cache didn’t appear to be in any container but was nice and clean and dry.Plenty of golfers about but more on the other side.
Out in the Devonport area finding some caches to collect my end of 2019 souvenir. Found the cache lying on the ground so completed the formalities, and put it back where the trolls live. Thanks GeoTrioNZ
I think we did a pretty good job here trolling the golfers, as just when I was about to sign the log a golfer came up looking for his golf ball in the water. I was wearing Goretex trainers so I was able to walk into the stream and retrieve it for him. Talk about things being hidden in plain sight, he didn’t think of asking what the huge container was!
Predicted what it might be and where - crawled under without too much trip-trapping! Nice to get a large - they are scarce these days. TFTC
We didn't have the strange pants but that didn't matter, we found the cache pretty quickly. So clean and tidy and nice big log book. Picked up the TB and dropped one off, thanks
Day five of the streak, and this cache size caught me by surprise didn't read the page properly was expecting a small or micro

We had a nice trip to Devonport today. I hid under the bridge and really trolled the golfers TFTC!
Found while out for a Sunday ride earlier today. Great sized cache! Donated a pen as a cache this size should really have a scribe in plce. Tftc
It was missing last time I was here, but seeing its been recently replaced I stopped by here this evening for another look. A quick find, and a nice big container as well, TFTC
On our way to spend some time around the Devonport Area today to make some finds. Thank goodness it was dryish around GZ. Simply amazed at the quality and size of this cache. SL. TFTC.
I looked for this one a while ago so am pleased it's been replaced with a nice large container. TFTC
Today D4nielB and me decided to take a ferry to Devonport an wander around a bit and look for some caches on our way.
This one was a quick find and a really big container!
Greetings from Hamburg, Germany.

After searching for ideas for what to do today, Jul1ane and me came up with the plan to visit Devonport and do some walking around combined with a few caches. So we went to the harbor, got us some ferry tickets and went over the bay to Devonport. We enjoyed the day at this lovely area.
FTF!!! ... but only for the new (and big) container. That's probably not "small" anymore.

Replaced the cache with something more robust. Large enough for trackables and swapables
Met up with paraonegirl and k-adventure for breakfast in Devonport and some caching. We were targeting different caches today so I split off from the others to find the few caches in the area that I hadn't yet found. Adding my name to the growing list of previous DNFs
Found only geocaching sticker hanging on the bridge. Maybe cache went for a lunch break See you next time. DNF
Some people say that this hobby is not "all about number", how wrong they are. Especially when you set a personal challenge to keep your interest in this great hobby going. Over the years I have done this and this year (well it goes until 29/2/2020) is no different. So on to most caches that I can find.
Luckily I was wearing my waterproof boots.
Cheers for the cache.

We remember the previous Bird Calls cache near here and can see where it used to be but can’t believe how much the area has changed.
We headed over to search for this new one and had to be careful as all the recent rain has made things very slippery. Fortunately we managed to retrieve the cache without incident and didn’t encounter any trolls.
Nice hide, TFTC.

Was a bit slippery here & of course l picked the wrong side to start looking. Slight re-adjustment and soon signing the log. TFTC
Having set myself a personal caching goal for the year (or at least whats left of it) I thought I had better crack into it and start collecting so that hopefully the last 6 months of the years is far more productive than the first 6 months. So heading up to collect a few caches around Devonport area nice and early meant leaving not to early, 5am and home by 2pm, so managed to avoid most of the peninsula traffic that is an absolute nightmare.
Great collection of caches and hides to be had, and ever grateful for the toolbox of magic tricks in the boot of the Geowagon that enabled me to collect a number of the more interesting caches. So all in all 41 successful finds today. All caches today signed "CD" to save log space.
The place was all quiet, with the story in place I wasn't sure what I was going to find so was grateful for the birdie.
Thanks to all the CO's for their contributions, thanks for the cache.

You'd think I could do better, but I found the cache in the sixth place I looked. That would make it a double bogey for me. TFTC.
We made the most of a sunny day to collect some more caches in this area. No golfers in sight here and Mrs Jag quickly found the cache
We were out cleaning up the shore of caches - after reading the cache description we were sure we had the right gear to collect this cache. Cache was quickly located and no trolls were hurt in finding this cache. TFTC
Spotted instantly but had to change sides to retreive, a few golfers around but they had there eyes on there balls.

Joined team SEAC for a Queens Birthday outing into the rain. The bridge was slippery and the stream a torrent in this rain, but we finally located it once MrNZT had taken his blinkers off. TFTC!
A plan was hatched to head out this way with NZ Travellers, cragger, laval and NZIceman to get some more smiles. We managed to get completely soaked through and windswept but had heaps of fun.
The water here was very high due to the huge amount of rain in the past couple of days including whilst we were out there today! Started at the wrong end of the bridge, went to the other but nothing there either, Mr NZT then returned to where he had begun and made the find - doh!
Thanks for the cache. Signed as SEAC (South East Auckland Crew) x 6 to save log space.

After a couple of days of rain and lots of snacking we decided some fresh air and a stretch of the legs was needed today. The weather wasnt really conducive to lots of lovely caching but it did keep the muggle count down during our hunting! Was joined by Keylev, Cragger, Hellobird1e and Laval today so signed the logs as SEAC 6 today as there were 6 in our mad caching party. Had loads of laughs and got horribly wet, but nothing a hot shower, dry clothes and dinner wouldn't fix later on!
This hide had us going for a little while, although we knew where it must be hidden we just couldn't quite spot it until we changed sides and MrNZT realised he had had a mans look initially!! Found the cache and signed the log. TFTC!

After looking at the cache page online, and after reading your hint, I pretty much figured out where the cache might be before I arrived at GZ... and sure enough on this particular occasion I was right. However, as I approached GZ I needed to bide my time as there were a lot of muggles around this morning... both of the golfing kind and the people out strolling kind. So once the coast was clear I soon had the cache in hand, log book signed, and I have put the cache nicely back in its spot all ready for the next finder. The cache is in good condition. As I was putting the cache back in its spot the heavens opened up briefly, and so I waited awhile pondering on the appropriate Norwegian Fairy tale for the moment. Anyway, I was able to leave GZ once the rain died down. So thank you GeoTrioNZ for taking the time to set up this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC
