With sadness, I deliver the news that the Witch was blown away by a tornado.
It happens.

Maybe she'll pop up elsewhere. And hopefully her new home will remain untainted by naughty messy wizards.

11-May-19
Again. Sorry

10-May-19
Was really excited to go into the cauldron but left disappointed with a DNF. Spent a good 45 mins here. Definitely only enter during the daylight hours. Evidence of undesirable items strewn about suggesting it would be unsafe to come across the inhabitants here, very possibly even to say it could jeopardise your safety and particularly your geo kids which I recommend not entering unaccompanied.
We did find a small container approx. 8 metres from the GZ half concealed in the straw in the garden bed leading into the cauldron. It contained only a sheet of paper with the last finders details logged. We don't believe this is the actual cache as it doesn't fit the description as written and placed by CTheExplorer.
There were a few items that could possibly be related to the cache strewn about but just cannot be sure, so this is why we are going with a DNF log as it's quite possible CTheExplorer, you have done an amazing job of concealment.
We really wanted to experience the 'scary' experience but not today. We will be back.
Thanks for the cache CTheExplorer

05-May-19
Came with grumpy teen who was not happy to look. Searched for ages and quit when some mums told their kids to come away from the dangerous people in the bush. Epic fail.

02-May-19
TFTC. Doing some caching on a trip to Mainland from Hobart to Devonport and in Melbourne.
There was no log book in container so put a temporary one in place. Needs maintenance

01-May-19
Ok, the cache is fixed and working as it should again.

I'll put a note on the main page too, but.... please be aware there is evidence that someone might be using the spot to sleep rough atm.

So please only go in daytime hours, and approach carefully. If you see anyone in there, its probably wise to return another time.

17-Apr-19
Oh dear. Additional info from a kind cacher makes it clear this needs to be disabled until I can restore the cache and check precisely what the Witch is up to. Seems shes been sleeping at the office making it unpleasant for visitors.

I hope to do it soon but life and other circumstances may make it a matter of a number of weeks to rather then the typical week or so.

Sorry.

14-Apr-19
Decided to make this spooky cache our Sunday outing... no witchy or wizardy senses were enough today .. maybe it’s the Merlot hangover dulling senses?
There was a zip lock bag and empty container & lid scattered inside .. no guardian to be found

13-Apr-19
Found the stash. I think the fun bit is missing.

02-Apr-19
Caching day with crank1 for the day. Lovely park with native plants surrounding. Creepy for me but love the cache. Fav for me. Thanks CTheExplorer for placing this cache

02-Apr-19
I had a great time finding your cache with kangas11
Loves this area
Fav from me
CTheExplorer, thank you so much for placing it.

01-Mar-19
Sooo spooky. got a scream out of mum when she first saw it . Keep looking it’s worth the find . so clever. Thank you

23-Feb-19
Scary but fun!

01-Feb-19
We had spare half hour this afternoon and popped over to check out the cauldron.
We were not disappointed as this was a clever little hiding spot that's been well designed.
Thanks for the cache!

30-Jan-19
The phone played up in the heat, but heaps of fun. Left a little friend in there who needs a good home

20-Jan-19
Love this cache! So clever. Thank you so much!

20-Jan-19
I was the one who found it before the Geokids. We have seen ones similar to this before, but loved the concept and the execution of the hide. Had an idea it was going to be something like that.

18-Jan-19
Well..its so well hidden, I thought the remaining bits had been taken! Then I spotted it and replaced the fun part.

Have fun!

Ps. I hope the cacher who found it when it wasn't all there, has a chance to return for the full effect.

14-Jan-19
Found in the company of G of GJMMelb and quiet1_au. We found part of it, as G and Q have already described. Definitely will stop here again for the full effect! TFTC

13-Jan-19
A place we've visited before whilst caching, lochb, G of GJMMelb and I knew where we had to go and hoped for better luck this time (not sure if it was the same cache or an older one?) Annoying to see the rubbish and spray-painting in this place that ought to be a kid magnet, but after a long search I spotted something and it proved to be the cache hide minus the guardian (CO approved our log as we put our names in a temporary log and checked we found it) TFTC - a nice idea for a cache hide - pity some muggle messed with it.

13-Jan-19
Found with Lochb and Quiet1_au. We arrived here and were not sure what we would find. We search for a while and then started to seek more information. I was distracted by a phone call and did not help much. With research completed we were about to give up when Q found a container. There were no contents or indication that it was the cache. We continued to search but it seemed highly likely that it was the cache - what else could it be. Not finding anything else we provided a log and signed it. Later the CO confirming that this was the cache - part of it anyway. Now that the cache has been reconstructed we may head for a look if we a passing.
One of the most novel and inventive cache types I have seen. Thanks CTheExplorer
GJMMelb

13-Jan-19
I stand corrected.
While part of the cache remains intact, the fun and essential bit is missing.
Will replace soon.

12-Jan-19
Honestly I strongly suspect the cache is fine as there is always some debris here despite Cito attempts. Also because of loggers silence when I tried to get details only minutes after their log.

Will confirm very soon but please don't let the previous note put you off from giving it a go.

10-Jan-19
We think we found the part of the cache on the ground but could find the rest. It may need maintenance.

07-Jan-19
Thanks that one was fun!

05-Jan-19
Adorable! After visiting my sister (a witch) and brother-in-law (a spook) and my nephews (gremlins), I headed off to make this find on my way home. My spidey senses must be broken, because this took me ages to spot. But spot it I did and left my scratchings on the scroll. TFTC

Double, double, toil and trouble
Fire burn and cauldron bubble
Double, double, toil and trouble
Something wicked this way comes!
Eye of newt and toe of frog
Wool of bat and tongue of dog
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting
Lizard's leg and owlet's wing
Double, double, toil and trouble
Fire burn and cauldron bubble
Double, double, toil and trouble
Something wicked this way comes!

Our last visit here was on 24/May/2014 for a successful find on [Koby & Mayas treasure hunt.](https://coord.info/GC4WZ31)
We had a short multi in St Kilda called [The Cauldron](https://coord.info/GC4R7DC).
Interesting to note the character of this area has not changed significantly since then.
We found discarded beer bottles and a bong here today... and your cache.
What a ripper!
Found with +Wife just after the rain started.
Thanks for the cache CTheExplorer

19-Dec-18
Went in with a wand and magic'ed away most of the undesirable bits scattering the floor.
The Couldron is, for now, clear.
Enjoy.

18-Dec-18
Forgot to bring a pen. Wonderful disguise and we did have to suppress the screams. Sad that it seems to be a local hang for less than desirables.

17-Dec-18
Out with my geo granddaughter to fill in a gap on our calendar. There were a few muggles at the nearby playground but all quite near GZ. This secluded spot must be a local secret haunt with suitable decor! A pity! Anyway where to start a search. Then I spotted something a little out of place and this revealed the guardian. The container was then quickly located and the log signed. Nice idea for a cache. Tftc

16-Dec-18
Arrived here in the pouring rain and was very surprised to see so many kids playing on the equipment. Made our way to the interesting GZ. Was surprised at what we found. It reminded Mrs Papi of the cubbies she used to build. The clever hide was located by her which is just as well as her phobia isn't quite as bad as OHC's. Thanks for the cache.

What an interesting little place. Thought it would be a dry refuge out of the rain, but still got a spray.
Luckily Mrs Papi spotted the hide before I did, or I’d have run out screaming.
Cheers CTheExplorer

16-Dec-18
Super fun find . Shame about the litter and vandalism. We used to live walking distance from here and kids have enjoyed the playground but I never knew about this secret lair! All the best, we’re headed back to the hills

*28 Nov 2018, Found @3:23 pm, Find # 2253.*

This was a clever cache and one I enjoyed finding, shame about the rubbish left by others though.

**Thanks to CTheExplorer for placing this cache.**

20-Nov-18
Thanks to a hint from CO found it this time Good one thanks

15-Nov-18
Great fun find! Thanks for taking the time to make such a nifty little hiding spot and clue! Sadly my pen was out of ink (of course) so I couldn’t leave the message I wanted to which was...”the last time I was in this park was very sad because my cat had just been put to sleep and I had to escape work. It’s nice to have a now have a happy memory of this fab little spot...”

06-Nov-18
Fantastic idea for a cache. BurntKrust made sure this was a spot I visited whilst in Melbourne. I was not disappointed!!!

28-Oct-18
First cache. Went on bike with kids. Once read the hint, was easier to find. Was a nice addition to our afternoon activities. Thanks!

21-Oct-18
Indeed a fun cache to find. Hard not to be spotted running in and out but as long as you choose your moment. Need maybe a bit of CITO but hey, I did what I could.

Thanks for the hunt and the fun.

21-Oct-18
Took the children there a couple of weeks ago! Great hiding spot! It was our first one! Wow, you have inspired us to create one of our own and continue to the hunt!!

17-Oct-18
No luck but lots of rubbish , bottles etc

17-Oct-18
Wow, you’ve gone to a lot of trouble to make this cache an absolutely fun find in lovely surrounds! Logged and put back in its original position. TFTC

14-Oct-18
Loved the hide for this one, and was amazed to find a place I never would have thought existed in a park I frequent so often! TFTC!

Just logging this one from Friday Smile

08-Oct-18
Last find for the day for Sinornithosaurus and I, and it was a very nicely hidden and nicely constructed cache. I seem to remember finding a cache in this park a while back and then forgetting to log it and the next time I checked, it was gone!! Sad oh well, this cache makes up for it! TFTC CTheExplorer and for maintaining just in time for us to find it today Smile) Was going to drop a trackable but didn't bring one that would fit unfortunately...

Visited some trackables,

That's awesome CTheExplorer...geogirl was happy that this was seen to.

05-Oct-18
Found this cache although it seems like cache has been detached.
Owner should try to see to this ASAP.
Still a great, clever cache to find.

05-Oct-18
This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache.

05-Oct-18
Fixed! Again
That failure will not reoccur. And can I say...my own cache gave me a fright at least 3 times while repairing it.

04-Oct-18
Ok. A new version is in place.

Although I tried to make it as sturdy as possible, sharp tugging is to please be avoided. A gentle coax ,after the inevitable scream, is recommended.

Have fun!

24-Sep-18
Looks like some cutting and trimming has resulted in a lost cache.

Will decide whether to recreate or disable.

05-Aug-18
TFTC. The hint will help with what you are looking for.

Enjoyed the hiding spot! TFTC! Found on an evening out caching with mrx2

28-Jul-18
Looks like somebody has been destructive in there.

28-Jul-18
I'll check it out today or tomorrow.

28-Jul-18
Looks like this has been muggled . Found lots of rubbish and what looks like part of the cache. I’ll contact CO.

28-Jul-18
Good news. The cache is still secure in its hiding place...just missing one fun aspect of it, but totally ready for finding.

I'll attempt to return it to full fun asap.

28-Jul-18
Returned this afternoon and found it. Thanks for hint.

28-Jul-18
Fun aspect returned to its rightful lair. Love the clever construction. TFTC

*8 Jul 2018, Found @ 1:47 am, Find # 8035.*

After the 15 Years of Terror event, I then headed out for a bit more cache finding, I was now on my way home so I decided to swing passed this one to have a look.
I ventured in and it was good that I didn't find anyone at home so I was able to look for the cache, after a short search I find it, alot bigger than I was expecting, very nicely done.

**Thanks to CTheExplorer for placing this cache.**

08-Jul-18
Out and about with my geo husband picking up some unfound local caches. It was lightly raining so GZ was well protected from the elements to search for said cache. It wasn’t long before the find was made by my husband who claims to be the best Cache finder. The cache itself was well constructed and placed and I give it a favourite point. Even the people that appear to come here to hang out wouldn’t come across this. Thank you for bringing us here and TFTC

Greatcache

08-Jul-18
TFTC, really well hidden and very cool hiding spot! One of the geokids afraid of spiders so he says it was a scary find!

04-Jul-18
I had the day off, and needed more caches for the souvenir month, so I headed out to add to my tally. While my wheels were being rotated, balanced and aligned, I headed here for the first cache of the day. With no-one around, I slipped into the cauldron, where the cache was quickly found.

Thanks for the cache, CTheExplorer.

03-Jul-18
Like a number of folk this isn't the first hide I've found at this particular location - I'd re-hidden a muggled prior cache here back in early 2014.

So when I saw that there was a new hide here, I'd planned to search for it asap before it was possibly muggled, but somehow a couple of months have passed by... Anyway, a late night supermarket run saw me about a km away and I figured that the late hour and biting cold would likely dissuade any potential ne'er-do-wells from being in attendance.

Was still a bit twitchy when I approached the "cauldron" (I still think of it as the Very Cool But Not-So-Secret Grove, heh) and circumnavigated the outer before taking the plunge. Good coords saw me locate the container and its guardian pretty easily - nice bit of construction - should hopefully last much longer than its predecessor.

Not wanting to hang about I signed the log and replaced it as found before making my exit from the grove and heading off once more for the bright lights of the supermarket. Thanks for the cache, CTheExplorer.

Find #3407. Found @ 17:27 with The Good Lady Wife.

On the way home from running some errands, and I suggested a cache find on the return trip. There is not that much option between where we were and home, so a smidgen of a diversion was in order.

I looked for the cache while TGLW did some walking laps of the park.

I've now found 4 caches in this park, including one in almost the same location as this one. The Google satellite map view of the placement is a bit misleading, but there is really no sensible option that is not here (especially given the name of the cache).

Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache CTheExplorer.

20-May-18
With a little time to kill while waiting to pick someday up I decided to occupy myself with a little caching. Being a wet afternoon, it meant that the park was completely deserted. I wanted in not sure how long I would be looking for, but as it turned out it was the second spot I checked. I jumped a tiny bit at first ??. This is cleverly hidden and a nicely designed container.

Thanks to CTheExplorer for placing this cache.

The Witch is no longer lonely.
Her house is in order.
Visit...if you dare!!!

Find #4323

I don't like to leave it anymore than a week between finds if I can so on my way home from work today I decided to stop off and take a look for this recent one. I was a little cautious poking around with my torch given the previous logs but the coast was clear after dark tonight and I had the area to myself. I was pretty lucky I think and it was in one of the first spots I checked. Another quick look around and I had the cache in hand. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache CTheExplorer. Great to have a new cache out in the area.

09-May-18
Took a quick look and found someone's added a cool/ slightly creepy touch

A small aspect of the cache has already crawled away.. .I'll ensure he returns shortly. But it definitely does not affect functionality.

Thankfully no bongs today. Im hoping the cold weather keeps those at bay over winter at least.

07-May-18
Needing a second cache for the day for a challenge I am slowly working towards completing and finding myself in the area I thought I'd divert over to this very pleasant park and see whether I'd be able to find what seemed to be a bit of an elusive cache.
I can't say I laid my hands on it within the first 20 seconds but it wasn't too long before I spotted the cache. I'm not sure whether I'd rate it as a small but then again it isn't a regular. It's somewhere in between the two sizes.
I'd also agree with gmj3191's sentiments. This is a bit of a bong room/hang out area for some semi-disaffected youth. Tagging palm trees is a little.....crude really. The cache may well survive due to the placement and camo though. Well done, CTheExplorer on an excellent placement and great camo.

06-May-18
Working out in the garden preparing three new garden beds and then out to get a load of very good looking soil in the old ute.
I was going to spend Sunday shoveling soil but that all changed with a call from my very good caching mates the suscoe cachers.
Would I like to join with them on another trip to Melbourne to grab a few more caches as we have found most in and around Geelong.
Well how could you refuse an offer like that so here we are at this cache early on a Sunday morning.
On arrival this promised to be a long hunt but you never know as out new found caching family soon had the prize in hand so well done MUM and all the kids enjoyed searching for treasures.
Thanks for placing.

06-May-18
Suscoe decided that we should have a big Sunday drive today and so we prepared our tour of the local caches and got our good mate Bushfire along for the adventure with us.
We headed off bright and early, a cloudy start to the day but then approaching Melbourne the sun came out and for most of the day it continued to shine brightly on us. We got back home around 5:00 pm with a good collection of finds to record.

Thanks to CTheExplorer for this hide. Approaching GZ we met up with a family of cachers and had a nice chat while we all ventured into the cauldron and searched.
Wasn't long before one of our new caching folks had the cache in hand and the cache was opened by a little cacher.
Log signed, a short chat was had and we were off on our way.

Get your hand dirty to find it

06-May-18
Had to dodge a few Slytherin and Hufflepuff children here and play ring a ring a rosy on a broomstick until could dart in - under the invisibility cloak - and become a bat

04-May-18
Glad to be one of the few Smile

04-May-18
That took us a while, but we got there. Amazing hide, very tough!! TFTC!!

03-May-18
I’m certain it’s still there, I’m just not very good at Geocaching. :/
I tried searching for it a few days back (I was the person smoking a couple logs back) but I was way off. Checked the new logs which helped a lot with where it is.. I just can’t find the actual cache itself, as I’m not entirely sure what to look for.

03-May-18
Just as well I hung around and looked just that bit extra! TFTC

30-Apr-18
Found on 30 Apr 2018 at 12:22 pm.
I was getting a service done on my car so I borrowed a loan car and went for a quick drive today to look for a few new ones in the area. Even on weekday I thought it would be easier but still plenty of muggles around even on a week day.

I parked across the road and as I headed across I noticed someone smoking right at GZ and looking at their phone and then looking at all the bushes so I waited over the side of the park and the finished their smoke and left.
So in I went into the middle of the cauldron like instructed and about 20 seconds later I made the find. I then exited the cauldron and the "smoker" was back so I quickly moved too scared to ask if they were caching.
Thanks CTheExplorer, a much nicer hide than the last cache I found in here back in 2014: https://coord.info/GC4WZ31 "Koby & Mayas treasure hunt". Nicely constructed. A favourite from me.
Actually the first cache I ever found was over the other side of the road in this same park in the children's playground back in July 2012.
Oh, and thanks for helping me paint those arrows on the road a couple of days ago as well...
Thanks for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

**Time: 2:48 pm**
**Date: Mon 30 Apr 2018**
Well this one took a lot of searching, but the nice construction was eventually located.
This area is a bit dodgy as kids and others can operate in here unseen, so who knows what goes on. My search dislodged a plastic drink bottle modified for drug consumption, and I imagine this would be an ideal place to use it. It had probably been hidden for reuse.
It's unfortunate because this is a magic location, and a great place to hide a cache.
This one is hidden really well, and might last. The previous one here wasn't, and eventually fell to the pressure of muggle presence, as I imagine this place gets quite intensively used at times by various age groups, sometimes in numbers.

**Thanks for placing this cache CTheExplorer**

Find #9446
{FTF}

This one got published just after we finished up at the watery confluence event so being just 6km away, I figured that I would have a go at FTF. Nobody about this section of the park except for a couple doing some pushups in the distance. I recognized GZ as the site of a previous cache search that turned into a DNF if my memory is correct. Took me about 15 minutes to locate this one, certainly bigger than I expected.

Many thanks to CTheExplorer for the cache. TNLN.
