Too many muggles during school holidays to replace. Will do in a couple more weeks.
Have another maintenance run planned for in a couple of weeks with some replacement caches.
Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to Auswanderers for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

One last try before going home... nope... sigh.
Thanks to Auswanderers for the fun and the adventure.
Thanks to Auswanderers for the fun and the adventure.
My second try here and spent a good 10 minutes following the hint. Many nice holes for a bison but no luck today...

One of the team has been under the weather for some time. All is better now so this will be fixed soon.
Hi Auswanderers
We are coming to the gold coast from nz beginning of sept and would love to find all your caches in this area. I am crossing my fingers that you will hopefully replace the missing ones before we come ( no pressure though)
Thanks for placing the caches that you have we are excited to be able to explore the area finding caches

Despite a long search. No luck for me today. Had fun looking tho with geohubby.
Replaced but as the numerous previous caches had disappeared or destroyed, the format has changed.
Another DNF for the Auswanderers series Looked everywhere around the tree, but no luck. Will try again for all our DNF’s one day!
Found on the ground log soaking wet so put back where i guessed it would go
Down to the beach today. A bit on the chilly side until the sun came out. Big dumping waves. On holiday from NZ, Big dumping waves today. TFTC
Gotcha! This one was clever and tricky! Glad to have made the find!
After a fabulous time at the mega it was time to point our compass towards home. It has been a fantastic trip so far but there are still a few exciting targets to hit on the way home. Thanks for the cache.

Absolutely loved this one, very cool and a tiny stink crawled onto my hand and scared me to death tftc
Found with Joolay and barb2e on our trip to Dayboro. Picked up this one while getting the oldie nearby
Thanks for hiding this cache Auswanderers
Thanks for hiding this cache Auswanderers
Very sneaky! And got the shock of my life as there was a very cute gecko living in with the cache.
Down the coast for a few days and since the weather isn’t conducive for a swim what better to do than cache!! Who cares if we get wet caching . Thanks Auswanderers for the cache and the series. Loved this one.
Once we'd accertained where GZ actually was as apposed to where we thought it might be, Mr. Herbz made a lucky find by putting his hand on something which was, in fact the cache. TFTC
Having parked in Burleigh to complete a nearby multi, I knew I still had some time... so here I am... I’d forgotten how pretty Burleigh can be, and in every sense of the word...
I managed to lay my hand on the cache immediately as I sat down... so while “pretending”to have a rest so as not to arouse the suspicions of the nearby backpackers, I made my mark and returned the cache as found... tftc...

We tried these some years ago with little success. Today being more aware of this cache owners devious and creative hides we had more success. Fav point alloc. Thanks Auswanderers. Very pretty along here and parking was no problem.
Will disable this one again! Now holidays are over will be able to give this one some love.
This one had eluded me again. Pretty sure I found it on my last visit but the log was stuck. Today was no cigar. Will have to come back another time.
On a Christmas trip to Brisbane to delight the kids. A part of the trip was also to spend a touristy day in Gold Coast and Mt Tamborine.
After an old traditional up the hill and the nearby earth cache, it was time to check this one out. But it turned into an 'oops' as despite a decent search and referring to some old logs this still remained hidden. Clearly cache blindness striking...
The views are magnificent! Well worth a stop here just for the sake of them alone!
TFTH Auswanderers!

This location is paradise indeed, the cache hide is very inventive and a pleasure to find. Signed log and replaced caches as found. Fav point for me.

Just a Trifle and I are staying at Labrador and today we headed off towards Tallebudgera.
While we were on the walk for the the AL we stopped to grab this cache. Sadly the container had slid out of its holder and was too far down inside. Although we tried several methods for retrieval, it was still not removable. A message was sent to the CO and they have allowed us to log the find. TFTC, Auswanderers.

Up in Qld with Bar2e. Quick find on our first day running around. So beautiful here.

Checked on this one again! Was not where it lives but still findable. Replaced log and returned to its rightful spot.
Oh how we looked and looked for this - twice. But to no avail. One day we'll come back.
Found on a road trip with OBC, almost missed it until the geokid goes hold up, this feels weird Great hide!
Fourth cache of the day and ninth of our Gold Coast holiday. Rain can't dampen our fun, we have Bunning's ponchos, oversized raincoats, dodgy umbrellas, and ugly rain proof jackets. So with coffee in our systems and laughter in our bellies we headed off.
This cache helps me with the attribute challenge - to collect a cache representing all possible cache attributes. Hidden in plain sight, but well hidden indeed. What a clever cache. So simple and yet so effective - well done. And a beautiful view too . We stayed here a while to watch the surfers and enjoy the sunset. Really loved this.
TFTC and TB visit while I am here.

After a couple of days couped up in the van when the sun appeared today we quickly headed out to get rid of the cabin fever. An explore around Burleigh was just what the doctor ordered. The middle of a working week made it easier to snag a park in the coming and goings and the passing traffic of muggles didn't give us a second thought as I snooped about GZ. A hint in the manual put me onto the right train of thought and I eventually had CIH. A nice urban hide here Auswanderers, a FP given in return for my smiley.
Headed here early this morning and managed to jag a carpark nearby. Thought I’d try this one as no one directly around. Found it pretty quickly, a nicely camo’d cache! TFTC!
After doing the ocean view walk / rainforest circuit I randomly had a look for nearby Caches. So I went for this one, looked around and around, sat down because of too many muggles and was wondering. But suddenly I saw sth suspicious. Can it really be? Yes it does. What a damn cool idea.

A friend recommended me to come here on an evening to sit and relax and watch the surfers. So that's what I did and then noticed there is a cache close, so I walked over the carpark and was hoping for a quick find but it wasn't.
Immediately I noticed a nice hiding spot but nothing in there.
I walked in circles and had a good look at every hole, under leaves, in any branches, nothing.
I was about to give up and read some previous logs, then I noticed the owner and realized I have a TB from him that I found in New Zealand. How nice if his TB visits his cache I thought, so no way to give up. I went again to the first place I looked at, sat down, looked again and nothing. Then I noticed something rattling in my hand. Turned out I had the cache in my hand without knowing it!! How funny is that. And I only noticed when I turned it around because of the inner movement.
I had taken it out of the hiding hole, to look IN the hiding hole without realizing that this is actually the cache.

found this morning while killing some time before a meeting, lovely spot here. Thanks
2nd attempt at finding this. Thanks for replacing it. The first attempt we saw it had fallen inside beyond reach. TFTC!
Well our luck was with us for this one we parked right next to the cache before we knew it was there , so a true park n grab

Up here from Melbourne staying in Helensvale but finding ourselves here catching up with friends down at the beach.
After a lunch at the surf life saving club, the rest of the OSHFAM clan played at the beach whilst I made my way up to the cache.
It was after I had been up to find the 2001 cache up the hillside that I stopped here. Car park was full but most people were down the beach so I only had to watch out for the odd muggle walking or driving past.
At GZ I made a quick find. I really like the way this is disguised and hidden.
I picked up a fallen frangipani flower and put it behind my ear. My favourite flower. Such a sweet smelling beauty.
Thank you for the cache here Auswanderers
Fav point for a clever hide in such a high muggle area.

Parked right next to it for an instant find despite all the muggles traffic today. First find of a short visit to the Gold Coast. Thanks.
Quick find with eagle eyed tassie expat while visiting from Vic. You need to be crafty. Tftc
With muggles in their cars at gz, this required some sneaky work. Started collecting flowers and spied something NQR. Grabbed another fallen flower and tucked cache under the arm. Sat down for a drink in the shade whilst signing the log. Returned using same acting technique. TFTC
After grabbing the nearby earthcache Caro and I decided to grab this one too. Thankfully it was a Monday and a little quieter. A quick grab before signing our names. Great hide and TFTC Auswanderers
It's a very smoky day today and the views were certainly not what we're used to from up here.
Loved the clever hide. TFTC

Wow - what an ectracool hide! Had the cache in my hands for three times, heard suspicious sounds, but no container. Finally, after a little brainfitness the log was done. Favo for the good idea . TFTC!

Checked this one today. Obviously a previous finder has replaced or dropped this without its camo! It was not to seen in its hide! The camp was still there in the area though. Replaced log so all good to go.
We made a wish on the thistldown nearby that someone, one day, may dig that cache out of its burrow. For now I think surgical equipment is required. I hope it's waterproof! Dig deep x
Down to the Goldie this week, and despite every night being very very late, I enjoyed my dawn walks. Today it is Beautiful Burleigh Beach end to end and back. Last one in this direction - I've missed more than I've found for sure, but a chance here to breath the air as I watched the surfers and paddle boarders do their thing in the ocean. I spotted this one real quick - but I couldn't actually get my fingers on it and I fear it will now need a little rescuing. Or smaller hands.
Thanks Auswanderers for entertaining me at this location.
