The cache wasn't on the removed windmill. Next time I drive passed I will check it out.The windmill near Ampol is a different one. We were a bit sad the other night to realise the one at the showground has been removed.
The name of the cache suggests that the structure is a Comet Windmill? We camped at the showground (as we do yearly) for 5 days for the Rusty Iron Rally. The second entrance to the showground has no structure other than a rough ticket box. There is a magnificent Comet Windmill in a park near the Ampol Service Station on the way out of town, heading south. The photo taken and posted the logs on the 23/11/23 by Rubystone2 shows a windmill...it isn't there now (photo showing and empty paddock at co-ordinates posted above.
Tftc Great night at the Macksville show. Sneaky find as the show was packed. Log is too wet to sign. Cache was in place and sealed
TftcNot quite where I was looking last time. But easily found without too much grass. The log was almost full and damp so added another piece of paper Turned a bluey into a smiley
Short drive on from previous and another quick park and grab. Great to be easy to park here as the ground is rather wet and wouldnt want to park on the roadside. TFTC
Spending the day riding around Macksville and Nambucca before the GIFF Event tonight. A quick find but if nature had been having a better season that might not have been the case. TFTC Nudge74.
Its 5 years since we had a DNF here. Pleased to have found it todayBill & I had a week away geocaching so headed up to Coffs Harbour for 4 days.Returned to Nacksville to attend the GIFF event, the last night at Kempsey to cache there & at South West Rocks. The weather for the 1st few days were quite wet but managed to find a few in the area.Geono. was camped at the Comet sports ground also, so we spent happy hours with them. Thanks to all the COs for hiding their cache.
We stopped at the Show grounds for morning tea.. no one else around. Enjoyed the Comet and moved on. STL TFTC
It was not where I thought it would be, given it’s name, but I did manage to find it hanging around
Heading north we picked up a few caches along the way and this was one of them while staying in the Kempsey.area.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

This was not what I was expecting. I found a silver bison not a clear bison as mentioned. The log is wet and falling apart. CO will need to do maintenance on the log.

A short trip up the road to this next one. A quick search of the obvious with no luck, but then trusted the GRSr and found the cache.
Back to a quieter time, spending time with family and enjoying the beach, walking as well as fishing after a day out on the trails.
We have ventured out for a few caches regularly to keep our streak going.
This was one of those.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Nudge74.

The log was damp, and started to tear as I signed it, so only partially signed after the last entry.

Out and about caching today. Arrived at GZ. After searching for sometime, eventually found. TFTC
Probably the quickest find for the day, in fact spotted this one as I walked towards GZ.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Found while on a geocaching holiday with tmann421.
Enjoyed the trip around and all the great hides.
Stamped TM/WW NZ, or if in pen our full names

Glorious autumn day, just perfect for a drive in the country picking up a few caches. Searched for a few minutes before the tricky little blighter revealed itself.
its nice to see a Comet hale and whole, most of the ones I see have damage to their vanes or no vanes at all which is sad.
the cows here were much happier although more interested in my business than their grass.

Will pm you nudge. Trying to get some October caches. Many thanks to the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment.
A lovely, shiny COMET was spied from afar
I do love the optimism expressed on the sign.
But these Comet's have done their job.
As they melt away in the convenience of solar power
A quick find here

This was hard and took quite a while but I found it after looking from both sides of the fence. It should have been easy, a fellow cacher down home had a huge series where this was the only type of container, very frustrating! Thanks Nudge74 for a great hide.
Found at 2:11 PM GAFF4.
Ok - take 2!
We came back after being given some information - wow a tricky little hide!
There was a VW convention going on at the showgrounds - heaps of Beetles, Combi Vans and some weird flat top and side looking things. We later saw them at South West Rocks.
Thanks Nudge74.

DNF at 4:58 PM.
Last cache for the day and we couldn't find it. After a big day of finding hard and sometimes tricky hides, we were possibly a bit tired and so after checking the structure - we just couldn't see how a small tube could be hidden - unless it was planted i nthe ground

We had a good search around but no luck at all here today. Our only other thought that it may have been on a sign but only the post is there.
Thanks
Thanks

This is one of those caches that just took too long to find. We went over every inch of every piece of stuff around and in the end, it was just right there, looking at us.
I love the simplicity of these old wind pumps, and they just never seem to break down.
We hadn't planned on finding these latest caches but we have our favourite little granddaughter with us and she can't resist the ice cream shop beside the river, so we decided to find what we could.
Thanks for the cache Nudge
