Intended to find all of the river walk caches. But again we failed. Two finds, two DNFs and didn’t bother on the other
Although number one this was our last on the trail, what a great walk very enjoyable.TFTC
Staying in Gympie for a work course, and managed to leave early enough to fit in a few previously unfound caches along the way. Went for a walk along the river, it's a gorgeous spot. It was rather busy with dog walkers even in the hot windy middle part of the day. Managed to find all the hides after a short search. Love the canoe launch rails, what a great idea!!

Thanks for the fun trail Sir Bruce, I'll let Andy tell you about the epic adventure back to the geomobile.

I have been working in Gympie lately and on my way home grabbing a cache or two. The job will soon be completed so I thought that I might grab these caches along the river.
This one was found easy enough when at GZ.

Had the opportunity to go caching with Wazza9 and Nana Nel and took it. We had been wanting to do the river walk series for a while plus others around the hinterland of Gympie. Such pretty country side. We enjoyed our day of caching. Thanks for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.

TFTC,
A big day for me, 1-38 for the day. I joined with Nana nel & Liz and Bruce today to start my caching experience in this area.
A great day spent with great people talking, walking, driving and looking into spots many people would not see.

Here I reached the start of this caching trail,
which was half way through me walk
Cache found in the likely spot,
logbook signed
Time to retrace me steps,
and tackle *those* steps along the way
Thanks PB for a fun little series of caches [^]

How first find for the day and first find while visiting Gympie this trip. The cash was hard to retrieve as it had gone in a long way
I'm pretty sure I know where this was, but a group of muggles showed up and got in their car that was parked right next to the GZ. I waited around for AGES for them to leave, but they didn't. Eventually I ended up calling it quits. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they're all still sitting in the car there now
Lots of muggles about and GPS was not close but using our 'Georadar' we chose the most likely of places and it was just having a rest from the sun. TFTC
First time on the River Trail, will be back. Lovely walk and this was our 4th cache for the day. Found after a short search. Now to walk back to the car.

Out for a walk and decided to look for the caches along the River Walk. This one was a bit tricky as we know where it is however no one was willing to stick their hand in there. TFTC
21/12/18 145pm Found it TFTC SL. Visiting from Mackay, had nice swim. Easy find.
Thought we would drive up to Gympie and have a look at the river walk and do the caches along the track. Soon spotted the cache container and with no toad guards had it out and signed. . Thanks powellbruce.
After just finding #5 and having already grabbed the ones in between on another visit, we drove around to this end, being limited in time this morning.
After skirting around the roped off new path, we soon found a likely spot near the weir but as others had mentioned, were a bit hesitant to reach right in. I could see the cache and J used the umbrella to try to coax it out but ended up moving it further out of reach. He then put his phone torch on and discovered that the cache was being guarded by a big fat toad in the hole. Now we definitely weren't putting our hands in! A stick was employed and finally the nice big bison saw the light of day.
Took pineapple & 1966 penny, left Guide badge & blue bird.

Hi there PB1973.
We are currently staying at Standown Park, Standown Park. It was originally set up as a Veterans Retreat for ‘their mates and later opened to the public to enjoy. Over the years it has grown to become a "home away from home" for many Veterans of all ages and all conflicts plus their families.
Today's venture had us heading in to Gympie to bag a few caches. As today is Remembrance day, we just had to finish the day with "Remember".
>They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old;
>Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn;
>At the going down of the sun, and in the morning
>We will remember them.
All up we found 13 caches & DNF'd 0. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places while we meander around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache about 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Small Toy.
Regards
Ian & Penny.

After a wasted day of listening to two engineers brag about which one of them could fit more degrees in a triangle, I knew I had a big night of work in front of me. I was going to be working hard cutting into an eye fillet, strenuously working hard lifting beers towards my mouth and taking on the considerate workload of pushing buttons all night, because pokies can’t push themselves.
I decided that I would fit in a walk before starting work and opted for the only trail in Gympie that appears to be flat. If I had to walk up and down the hills around town it would only mean that more work needed to be completed tonight.
As I approached GZ, I ran into a sign that broke my feeble heart. The track was closed! I knew my geocaching license was up to date and I contemplated ignoring it and jumping the fence because generally public safety announcements and fun-burgling beaureaucratic red tape are things that attract the average cacher.
Thankfully this cache was on the right side of the ledger but it meant that all the others on the trail would need to wait until the next time I’m in town. It also meant that I had to decide whether to continue my stroll up and down hills or start work early. I did the conscientious thing and walked to the bottle shop and bought a cold bottle of Savvy B. We’ve all got to make a living somehow. tftc

Nice stop at the weir.
Thanks for placing these caches. We had a beautiful spring walk along the river in reverse order. Now to get back to the car!

Visiting from down South, I went out with my mate Madwizzard to locate a few caches around his superb area. This was one of them, and we enjoyed the walk along the river bank. tftc.
Out with Crustyvarmint on this beautiful spring day. We found this cache in a short time and signed the log.

Seams to be missing or gone deep into hiding will investigate when I have more time.
We had a good search around but no luck at all here today.
Our last in the river walk & our only DNF.
Thanks

There were lots of people about, so I had no luck with this one. I will try again later. The find at no 5 has given me a clue - I think. Thanks
GPS had us roving in circles. Geodaughter found it but wasn’t keen to extract it... “I’m not putting my hand in there” TFTC
We decided to do this walk today before heading home.
This was the first one and we soon spotted the container.
Signed the log and returned it to where we found it.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks powellbruce All good with this cache

There was another car parked here but wasn't sure of the whereabouts of the occupants so had a discreet poke about with no success. One for another day.
My last find in this series I did a few circles but soon spotted a place and there it was a nice shiny new cache. Thanks for placing these along this way.
Beautiful scenery here but the GPS wouldn't settle at all - had to use the satellite image before finding the little blighter. Favourite point for the lovely walk but will have to return for #3 TFTC powellbruce
Joint **FTF** with jfindit @ 0935 # 130 very surprised to find that no one had found it yet
Spotted these while at the Widgee event, as I normally have a local map of stars or the green boxes were not too hard to spot. This one was a little more difficult to find than the others.
Sunday morning seems a good time to have a go, Jim (jfindit) joined me for the trip into town, picked up some fuel and supplies while in town.
I thought I knew the walk, but Gympie Regional Council have done a great job on upgrading the whole river bank.
Thanks Bruce for thinking of me

This Day in Music
1973, Led Zeppelin's fifth album Houses Of The Holy was on both the US and UK album charts. The album spent a total of 39 weeks on the US chart. The cover art for Houses Of The Holy was inspired by the ending of Arthur C. Clarke's novel Childhood's End. It is a collage of several photographs which were taken at the Giant's Causeway, Northern Ireland, by Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis.

We came we looked, and looked and looked. Decided to head down and see if we could find the others. After three couldn’t finds we gave up. Love to have a message from the FTF cacher to tell us how blind we are.
