An enjoyable long weekend caching with friends around the Southern Tablelands.Quick find in a beautiful location. TFTC WaywardWoman!
A cool and fun day of caching around the Central Tablelands. This cache was a straightforward find in the obvious location. Container and log in good condition. Beautiful tree! Thanks!
Tankengine, Youban and I left Bathurst and the team to do their own thing, while we headed home - some of us have to work tomorrow. So along the way we picked up a few caches. This cache: Found quickly. Which is lovely for once. Tftc!!!
Chooo ooo [Found] on the way home of our caching invasion of Bathurst with dty73 and youban! Thanks WaywardWoman!
A bit reserved. The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of Oz Mega GeoBash MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza, e_smilie, and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. A quick find here, cache is all goodHeaded over to the Capital GeoBash in Canberra, ACT with Freddo over 5 days, travelling through the central part of NSW before caching around the hinterlands. A nice few days over with great weather. Thanks for the cache
Sweet spot to stop for a break… if it wasn’t 5 degrees and raining! Haha
*The generic bit for today's logs*
Spent the night in Bathurst but didn't do much caching there due to the rain and it being 5 degrees when we left! Rained most of the way home, so picked a few caches here and there to find. Heading south... it's the last day of our trip 'north for warmer weather': North East Victoria to Central Queensland, via Curtis Island! Just under 6500kms of caching, chatting and avoiding the cold! We have enjoyed the great variety of caches along the way. Thank you to all the COs who maintain them for us to enjoy.

Came out to Carcoar again this evening to find a cache for the day, and once at GZ, the cache was quickly discovered. Nice little spot here.

Easy find. Cache in good condition. Have left a couple of new AAA batteries for someone who might need to shine a light
Ty who ever put that geocache there it was hard to find because it is half in the ground
Little bit damp today after having over 100mm of rain fall overnight. COM084 seems to find these tricky ones a lot easier than me.

Out on a two day road trip from Canberra with LuckyL10n to the Orange and Bathurst regions to grab a few of the Joshwa27 puzzles. We headed up through Cowra, Carcoar, Blayney and Lucknow picking off the puzzles, as well as a few other multis and trads that time allowed. The weather was kind to us and it was great out and about for a while.
Like most of the caches on the trip, this cache was found without issue and out names were soon in the log book and we were soon back on the road towards the next one.
Thanks for this cache WaywardWoman.....

#14795 - 10:54:00 AM; Day one of an overnight caching mission around the Mid West Region with Sol de lune. The major focus of our mission was to collect "History of...." and other solved puzzles around Carcoar, Blayney, Millthorpe, Orange and Bathurst and many other little towns and villages along our route. Only one DNF today along with 40+ finds. I had a few extras on Sdl today, which he had logged on an earlier visit. Logs were signed or stamped to record our visit. Many logs were damp, with a couple very soggy due to the recent extended period of wet weather. Apologies for the generic logs. TFTC WaywardWoman
Carcoar is such a picturesque small town. A quick find, and cache and log are good. TFTC WaywardWoman.
I'm not sure why this was an issue last time I was here...maybe there were people around. No hassles today. Nice and easy. TFTC

Day Two: Lithgow to Cowra.
I didn’t cover a lot of distance today having been lured to Sofala with the possibility of FTFs. I’m in no hurry and it’s been a great day.
It has been many years since I have passed through here; didn’t we used to go through the middle of Carcoar? GZ here is one of those spots that I wouldn’t have gone into without a cache and logs indicating that it’s ok. I’m embarrassed as to how long it took me to find this one, but the light was fading and it’s been a big day.
Thanks again WaywardWoman.

Today I managed to find 75 Caches for the day with my friend Sui_001 & Loci612. It was an amazing day of caching. We had 2x DNFs for the day. We spent a total of 12 hours caching before I had to head home to do daddy duties. One of the highlights for the day was finding some Persons Tree Frogs near one of the caches that we found. Lots of driving to find the caches today. In fact it was 636 kms in total. I love geocaching so much and the friends I have made along the way make it all worthwhile. Thanks for all the caches and sorry for the generic log for this cache, but with 75 finds today it is hard to write a different one for each cache.

Geocache Poem
By DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.

I am currently writing more detailed logs than usual. This is because of a challenge provided by Project-GC called "The Author" Badge. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to write an average of one hundred words or more in each Found It log. As of 9th November 2020 my average was 160 words per log, which seems close to the 200 words per log target. However given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After 7600 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 160 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before this year ends. Progress has been better than anticipated.

*ALL CACHES signed as " **AB!** " for Adventure Boys! which today included Loci612, DSD and Sui_001 to save time and space in logs, and also dated 21/6 at minimum.*
With a day off work, myself, DSD and Sui_001 decided on a daytrip to tackle a small section of the "TRLT" series, and surrounding caches. We left Canberra at 6am and got back at 6pm sharp making it a 12 hour round trip! I managed to bag 70 finds for the day, a huge amount can't remember the last time I got that many without being at a mega event anyway!
It was a very successful day, with only one DNF from memory and a couple others skipped due to having along strings of them. My favourite part was driving up Mount Macquarie with spectacular views! We visited towns such as Cowra, Woodstock, Lyndhurst, Carcoar, Blayney, Barry and Neville.
Thanks to all CO's!
ADVENTURE BOYS!

"Food was cold, the burrito was so poorly wrapped that it looks like it was just scrunched up in a ball and it fell apart whilst trying to eat it. There were no serviettes to clean up the mess created by the explosion the bad wrapping created. There was too much garlic sauce that made it even messier to clean up. I felt that the burrito artist had very little idea what an actual burrito looks like and how it's meant to function in the whole fast-food convenience world. The one saving grace was that it actually tasted like a burrito. I will not be ordering from this store again for quite some time."
Do you think you're living an ordinary life? You are so mistaken it's difficult to even explain. The mere fact that you exist makes you extraordinary. The odds of you existing are less than winning the lottery, but here you are. Are you going to let this extraordinary opportunity pass?
At that moment he had a thought that he'd never imagine he'd consider. "I could just cheat," he thought, "and that would solve the problem." He tried to move on from the thought but it was persistent. It didn't want to go away and, if he was honest with himself, he didn't want it to.
She patiently waited for his number to be called. She had no desire to be there, but her mom had insisted that she go. She's resisted at first, but over time she realized it was simply easier to appease her and go. Mom tended to be that way. She would keep insisting until you wore down and did what she wanted. So, here she sat, patiently waiting for her number to be called.

Spent a couple of days on the road doing a pre-lockdown pandemic caching run through the central tablelands of NSW. With cold nights and beautiful days I headed for the TRLT (The Road Less Travelled) and the scattering of caches in the towns nearby.
The recent wet weather made the roads slippery at times and many of the caches had taken on some level of water... Thanks to all the CO's for your hides.

It was time to return and try to finish off the remaining TRLT series with Rapidlywild. Probably not the best time to go with rain and snow forecast, but we have never let the weather stop us before. So packed all the winter woollies, thermals, gloves and beanies and off we went.
We nearly got all the elements over the weekend even in one day snow, rain, fog, sun and wind but there was also some pleasant weather thrown in there for good measure. Roads in some places were a little hair raising but the trusty 4WD got us through safe and sound.
With permission from some of the cache owners we replaced saturated logs and on a few occasions caches.
All in all a good and successful long weekend away, lovely looking countryside and views along the way.
Thanks for the hide and adding to the fun WaywardWoman and thanks for another fun filled weekend away RWLD.

Last month, FFLL and I begun the tackle against the TRLT series and managed to get a huge chunk done. Well, we decided we wanted to get it finished so with snow on the forecast, we bit the bullet and packed the thermals and set off to have some fun. We had rain, fog, frost and even snow but it was an awesome weekend for sure We reached out to the cache owners of the ones we had to complete to inform them of our intentions and also advise that we were happy to complete replacement maintenance if required, so we came across a few that after extensive searches, we didnt locate, so we replaced as approved by the CO. A large number of replacement log sheets left along the way also to assist with the caches with soggy log books.
Lots of places visited across the weekend, including lots of old churches and old cemeteries across the land. Grabbed a couple of the TRLT caches en route to Blayney, was too much to just drive past them haha [:o)]
Thanks for the hide WaywardWoman And thanks to the FFLL ladies for another fun weekend out and about the TRLT trails and others

The last cache for the day and we thought this was a very charming location. We weren't expecting to find the cache there as there was a massive amount of decaying leaf litter in that area, but we found it quickly even so!

We did some of the TRLT caches a while back and it was great to be back doing some more. Love the different styles of hides, some creative, some not and the quirky covers we discovered on some. The countryside is looking awesome and we enjoyed the rural locations and wonderful views. Thanks to WaywardWoman for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.

We have made it to Carcour and time for a relaxing sit in the sun min this small reserve. Now to explore the town.
This was our sixth and last day of seeking out caches on this mega long geocaching trail. The weather today was once again perfect, with hardly any wind and lots of nice warm sunshine. We did end up having to miss out a big chunk of the trail as just before GC7TRQ6 a halt was put to our progress on finding the forest road closed to all vehicles due to some very active logging going on (we had suspected as much on the way to the forest having become very aware of a large number of massive logging trunks both entering and leaving the forest). We therefore had to turn back and miss out the next big loop, instead picking up the trail again at GC7V5KD. Never mind, all worked out at the end of the day as we then got to do a chunk of the trail that we hadn't expected to have time to travel along. Once again we loved the scenery and the truly beautiful countryside the roads less travelled took us through. Who knows, maybe on a future visit to Australia we might get to travel along the currently "not yet found" sections of the trail? This one was a nice quick find once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book to the strong smell of rotting apples and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe

**# 23893** Found on a fine sunny Autumn day with MrsRoosta.
Another trip around TRLT series to do the latest few sections.
Some of the roads are VMLT (Very Much less travelled) and that's a good thing.
Mainly good safe hides and nice quick finds.
Thanks for the cache and the series WaywardWoman,
