My first cache in Mount Alexander Council area. Now I only have one more council area in Victoria to log a cache in. One up on the Murray River and NSW border. The log is good, but the cache is starting to crumble, with some small holes. I left a couple of tiny (waterproof) duck trinkets. TFTC Benjamin Screamer.

I was i the area needing three caches as I am working towards a challenge cache. Seeing that this would probably be a reasonably easy find it was on my to do list. It was as suspected an easy find. Thank you Benjamin Screamer for placing and maintaining this cache for our challenge and enjoyment.

Continuing on my way to Bendigo I knew exactly where I was going to need to get ready to pull off the road as I've travelled this road often enough over the years. I was about to turn off the Highway I noticed the rather large amount of water across the track at the bottom of the mound. With all the rain we've had over recent weeks and especially these last few days, I knew it would be very muddy underneath and I've bogged previous Beemas when out caching over the years, so I decided to head up a bit further North and try the other entrance - not even a puddle this way . The Geotrail was quickly spotted, and cache logged and returned. There was quite a serene feeling here today. I enjoyed reading all the informative story too. Thanks Benjamin Screamer for highlighting this area. After a long hiatus away from caching I'm finding that I'm quite enjoying picking up a few today enroute from Ballarat.

Nearing the end of the school holidays and we decided to take the kids out for the day. Went to Mt. Franklin then a beautiful lunch at the Farmers Arms and a spot of Geocaching on the way back to Bendigo. Found with Kendal Clan and signed the log. Thank you

Glad we did it in winter because there's long grass.

24-Apr-24
Never send a man to do a woman's job. Mr Beetle jumped out of the van and headed to the nearest thing that fit the clue despite me telling him we were at least 30 metres away from GZ.His excuse being that he thought he saw a geotrail.Left him to it and wandered off with the ETrek to GZ where this well maintained cache was quickly found. Thanks Benjamin Screamer.

21-Apr-24
On my way towards Ballarat. Not aiming on getting there in a day. Lot's of caches to get.

As we were leaving Guildford in the PeuGEOt we grabbed this one. Why not? We did the one on the way in. Hard to imagine a tent city for so many people in that area. You'd want to gotten on with your neighbours.

Cache was soon found after going to the wrong fence post first. Log signed and cache returned.

10-Jul-23
Nice big easy find heard a lot of stories about this Geo. Thank you for placing it here will be back to find a few more in the area.

20-May-23
On the way to Bendigo for the weekend and stopped off for this one on the way past. Grass is still long, but a decent 'cacher trail' led the way to GZ. Cache was signed in situ and then it was back to the car and back on the road.

Thanks for this one Benjamin Screamer....cache all good.

The boys wanted a bigger cache and we know Benjamin Screamer always provides the goods. Left lots of spare swag to top up the cache again. Thanks!

03-Nov-22
Found it! Very long grass but I followed the track of the last finders that were still visible.

A truck driver on the road looked at me, sometimes I wonder what muggles think we’re doing.

Signed the log and back as found.

I have thought about mowing the area around GZ to eliminate that path, but that would be silly!

22-May-22
Found 1pm
Nice and easy due to the obvious track through the long grass.
Thanks for the cache.

20-May-22
Cruised up to GZ for this cache, and the local cocky was doing some harrowing in the adjacent paddock. His focus was on his job, so we got on with ours. A quick find, with some very uneven ground, fellow cachers reading this, take note. Left a geonickel. TFTC!

Many thanks Benjamin Screamer for providing and maintaining this game piece for our enjoyment.

No kidding about the long grass. It was a great camouflage as muggles drove by, I could just squat and be totally hidden!

Dropped a tb

Find # 9840
Found with Tyred n Cranky

Off for a Sunday drive down Castlemain way. The day turned out to be a great winters day out caching. Perfect temp and sun shining all day long.

The bush tracks we tackled had some eye opening situations but the ol' 2x4 Triton made it to most GZs. The tougher ones we legged it up the hills and along the toughet tracks.

All in all, the targeted caches were all found, some took a little longer to locate than others and we had a lot of fun along the way.

A quick find among the long grass.

Find No. 3488. Found with FUF009

A day out caching with FUF009, down to Castlemaine area, which turned out to be a perfect sunny winters day.
We cached a lot of bush tracks and luckily we were in FUF009's Triton as I don't think our van would of made it to some of the places we went to. We had a plan on what caches we'd do and managed to find them all. We had a good fun day which we all needed in these Covid times.

A quick find amidst the long grass which was the only camouflage this cache had.

The road was busy today but we were well hidden enough to search without detection .

Quickly found and signed the log a the container plastic is showing signs of being out in the weather with a crack in the lid that may let moisture in so maintenance might be required soon.

Thanks for the cache and for the interesting information about the area.

TFTC. We needed to get out for a couple of hours. Guildford looks a likely target. A multi and some caches all within a small radius of the village. A short drive from Maryborough and we were in the village. Nice easy find. Long Grass but there is a distinct trail to GZ.

Fence post covered in long grass too scared to search

Driving back home after a days kayaking and this popped up on the screen. Pulled into the service road and soon had the cache in hand. It was just a matter of getting back on to the road and getting homie for a rest now.
Will have to come back to the area as there seems to be a lot to see here.

This geocache is currently disabled because I support the government's non-essential activities restrictions that have been introduced because of the COVID-19 virus crisis. I encourage you all to suspend your geocaching activities ASAP. We must all work together to stop the virus spreading. The cache will be enabled in the future.

Had no trouble finding this well hidden cache today - we do enjoy finding some regular cache containers in these country towns. We took TB to assist it on its travels.

Probably our last find for today as we head for a wedding in Hepburn Springs - this one took us longer than it should have especially considering it’s size! The geotrail led us to GZ.

We are always interested in visiting places with gold mining history and the Chinese settlements within them. Thanks for the illuminating information on the cache page, which we took note and looked for the landmarks given. Loved the big container and SL at 5.20pm Left: bunny. #6400 TFTC Benjamin Screamer

Find #2164 for me. Found at 11:05 am with jtnsilo and my kids on our way to Ballarat from Bendigo. Well, with the young one at least since my older boy was sleeping in the car after a sleepover the night before where I assume he didn't get much rest... So many times I have driven past this cache, and so many times I have driven on by, mainly because I was leaving it to fill an empty date for the calendar challenge should I need a cache within an hour's drive from home. Well, with the calendar challenge finally completed last week there was no reason to postpone this find any longer so this morning I decided to finally stop here for the find. On arrival there was a muggle in a tractor stopped not far away. Thankfully he didn't hang around for long and once he was gone we closed in on GZ were we made a quick find. My 7yo daughter loved this one as well and we left a toy stag after she took a dinosaur. Thanks for bringing another smile to my daughter's face Benjamin Screamer and thanks for the cache!

05-May-19
Found at 11.11am warm sunshine and slight breeze making for a pleasant stop off. Thanks for the cache in a safe roadside stopping area.

15-Apr-19
I replaced the cache container today. Sometimes things are beyond fixing with gaffer tape! Log and contents are in good shape.

11-Apr-19
Last find for the day. The container lid is cracked and likely to take on water if it ever rains!

11-Apr-19
This geocacher reported that the container is damaged.

09-Apr-19
A nice quick find although the compass jumped around a bit. TFTC

08-Apr-19
Found It.... On our way home from the Painted Silos we picked up a few caches. It would have been quite a sight to see all the tents and workings all those years ago and sad there isn't any remains of them now. After pulling up a quick dash to GZ and the container was located and with the log signed we continued our journey homeward. Thanks Benjamin Screamer for the cache

08-Apr-19
Turned off and made this a quick park and geab cause did not want to stay in long grass any longer than needed. Distant mullick heaps spoke of a time once upon a time.

07-Apr-19

Out on a drive in the country and caching as we go. A nice easy drive by. Some long grass at GZ and plenty of grass seeds to to fill up my socks.

I nearly didn't dare to grab this one. Nice, easy one on the side of the road, apart from the scary walk through long dry grass in the height of summer. If I hadn't been able to see the large container, I think I would have given it a miss. Got the kids to stand back, retrieved, signed and on our way. Thanks for the cache.
