Ramtops. Again. Because apparently, Ankh-Morpork isnt cold and miserable enough already.Patrician insists the mountains will do us good, as if fresh air and stunning views are what the City Watch needs. I suspect he means out of his hair. Either way, were here, freezing, and apparently under attack from a particularly aggressive mountain goat that decided to charge Nobby. I dont know what Nobby did to insult it, but I believe it. Even nature finds him annoying. The locals here in the Ramtops seem nice enough, though their idea of "helpful directions" involves using words like "yonder" and "back a-ways," none of which seem to correspond to any known map. Asked a farmer for directions to a nearby village and was told, Go down past the big rock, then keep left of the hawthorn bush until you see Old Man Crumleys barn whats left of it. Very reassuring. Carrots convinced were on the right path, though, which probably means were lost.Anguas on edgesomething about the mountain air puts her wolf nose into overdrive, so now shes growling at every strange smell, which, around here, seems to be every smell. As for me, Im busy wondering why I ever thought policing Ankh-Morpork's criminals was the worst job I could possibly have. That was before I knew Id be trekking through goat-infested mountain passes in boots Im convinced were designed by a sadist.Maybe Ill just become a shepherd.
CaptainVimes and I have crossed the pond to attend the Geo Toroa mega in Dunedin and tour around the South Island for two weeks. It's so windy up here we thought we would be blown off. Thanks TeamCacheventures and happy caching
A thoroughly stunningly clear day winding my way up the mountain in awe of the incredible landscape. Thank you for placing here. TFTC
Beautiful views at this lookout. Better views of the airport than the other cache I reckon.Super windy and cold, but managed to see 3 planes takeoff which was a highlight - fav point for this.TFTC!
After a day on the slopes, a quick swing in to the great viewing spot here. A nice easy find! TFTC
Good one thanks its a very good one when you are coming down the mountain hardest difficulty we have found 2,5 going to try a 5 for fun probably not gonna get it
Beautiful day in n Queenstown. Headed up the mountain to hike to Lake Alta. Finding a few caches along the way.TFTC.
#7345Day 7 of our NZ trip, we have a spare day starting up the Remarkables, then well see!We stopped here first, in case we were tired on the way down and forgot.... we had a go here in 2019, but left with a DNF, the cache presumably missing at the time. Your trigs here are great, so many hiding spots - found after a quick search today, DNF avenged! The views are fantastic....TFTC!!
#7345Today is our last full day in NZ for this trip, so we decided to head up into the clouds up to the Remarkables! Had an awesome morning doing some roadsides, along with a few walks as well!DNF avenged! Quick find here, its been a few years since we were here, I wonder, was it missing or were we just blind? TNLN SLTFTC
First cache on the South Island! Came to visit my son and girlfriend with RaptorKing 350! Training new muggles! Incredible view watching the airplanes land and take-off! TFTC!
4 years since our last New Zealand visit and first visit to Queenstown. Great first stop to take in the views before heading to airbnb. SL TNLN TFTC!
I went ahead and a car with Kaja and Jazz picked me up 5 km down the road. Amazing views. Mouth full of a dust...And that box like a reward:)Thanks for the cache and greetings from the Czech Republic!
A couple of South Australians exploring New Zealand, quick stop on the way down from a hike up the mountain. Found quite quickly and signed without some Malaysian muggles noticing. Although they did want a photo with us, I guess assuming we were locals, they weren't disappointed and still wanted a photo. TFTC
On a tramping trip with Kiscardi to the ski field. Had to stop and get the odd cache. Good view. All good with the cache. Thanks
Excellent views here. Saw a plane fly through the valley a long way below us to land. Cache found and log signed.
Mum found on our way back down the mountain. QEF. Amazing views and such different blues in the different waters. SL TFTC
Whow, what a beautiful view from here!!! Thanks for making us stop here! Our first cache in NZ after 7 years. We need to find some more caches here to keep NZ no. 3 in our international listing.Best wishes from SuToMiOl from Berlin, Germany
Today we are traveling home to Brisbane from Queenstown after a fabulous 15 days in the land of the long white cloud. With a few hours to kill before our flight, it was decided a spot of geocaching was in order. Quick find at a rather scenic view point. Very windy at the GZ today. TFTC. TNLN. SL.Find # 1665.
Quick stop on way down the mountain having been up there for the day while kids snowboarded. Definitely worth the view!
Found this one by accident last week (01/05/23) while acting like a child on our sightseeing drive. Beautiful spot!

Hi from Tauranga. Down with family for a few days to celebrate a milestone birthday. What better way to start the day. The weirdest thing here is that with 8 of us looking we found two caches ad per photo.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Had to broaden our search a little bit but found it eventually! Good hide.

The three of us climbed up the short hill. M and Beeba could not locate the cache even though there were not many places to look. I found it straight away. Well camouflaged. We continued to drive up to the ski field and had a cup of tea from our flask and some muffins that our friend had made. Then walked up to see the ski building and ski lifts. There are two travelators for children to go up to the learners and intermediate slopes that look like lots of fun. We saw a group of people who had been up to Lake Alta for an end of season swim. I bet that was chilly. Good to see how to get to Lake Alta as there are three more caches up there. But none of us were up to the extra walk today. Maybe one day!?
Down around Queenstown geocaching. This was the first find on our trip. What an amazing place. The views are wonderful. Had a great time watching planes land far below. We would not have found this place with out the cache being here. Thanks TeamCacheventures & Family.
Managed to see 2 landings and 4 takeoffs. Included in the latter was a beautiful hawk that was less impressed with us, than we were with him. Impressed by the cache too of course. Thanks.
A nice quick find thanks. Another lovely view point, cheers. Here as a fav point as there was a native flacon sitting of the fence when we got there. Way cool. We turned back from here for a cruise back down the hill.
Ms_KR and I are on a wee South Island break. Today we cruised around Queeenstown. We live in an amazing country, and today was one out of the bag. Glorious, weatherwise and the mountains were just stunning.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Finally I've wrangled some time off work so it's off to Queenstown for a little rest & relaxation... and Geocaching! We were down here for 7 days and even managed to join forces with DavidsonClan on a couple of days. I didn't have a huge hit list - it was mainly just some of the PMGT's I was after - but I made time for many others as well I was up nice and early for this one - and managed to get lucky with the access arm at the bottom stuck open. Peaceful drive and a beautiful sunrise. Cache found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords, a good hint and straight forward placement. Cheers TeamCacheventures & TFTC
Took a little longer than it should have but got there. Out caching with indiboo.
Thanks for the cache, TeamCacheventures

We have been in the area for a week and today its time to head home but we had a couple of hours to kill before our flight so decided to take a drive up the mountain. I was surprised but super happy to see the green dots on the map...of course we had to stop.
Scrambled up and took in the stunning view before grabbing the cache and signing the log.
Thanks for the cache.

Definitely a remarkable view. Well worth the stop. Thanks for making us stop! Found with Madcow2 and Mumandme. TFTC
Definitely amazing views from the trig. We were all thrilled to have made the trip up here. We definitely worth the drive and short climb
Three stays. Great views. Quite breezy, but isn't that part of caching. A group of us travelling north to do a few caches together. A fun day in the sun, nice to see blue sky when we were here. TFTC
A group of keen Southerners decided we'd had enough rain for the week and took a blat to Queenstown for the day where we hoped the weather would be warmer and drier.... which it was. Considering it's Gibbston Valley weekend the roads were surprisingly quiet! Watched a couple of planes taking off while here. This was the second attempt for me, the first time it had been muggled. Although the cache write up pointed us in the obvious direction the clue took us in another. TFTC
Having a caching day in the area. As there was a group of us the charge for using the road was minimal. I've never been up this road before & the views are absolutely amazing. Even spotted a few planes arriving & departing ZQN & my what matchbox size they are from up here. After admiring the views & photos taken the cache was quickly found. Could have stayed longer
Cache is no longer on the trig
TFTC Fav point from me

After our last day of Ski at the Remarkables for the school holidays, we stopped for the view and the cache. Easy found, both container and logbook are in good condition. Thanks for the cache! We even waited for a plane to take-off! Strange to be above the plane.
**CACHE MAINTENANCE**
After a nice day of skiing, we stopped here to do some quick maintenance.
Cache in same spot and ready for the next finder.

Last of three caches located “up the hill” today. Stopped for this one on our way downhill after a quick look at the skifield. Took a moment or two to locate. Much of the view was obscured by low cloud, but the little I managed to see gave me an idea of how magnificent it would be on a good day! I’ll be back! #3307. TFTC.
Coordinates a bit off but after checking the activity we realised we were looking in the wrong place. Great views!
**For your Information**
There is now a $10 cost to drive up the Remarkables road.
This started on February 3rd 2020

We came up the ski field road before they start charging for the opportunity to drive to the ski-field in summer. There was a cool wind blowing but good views. We've been up here before for a cache so knew what to expect.
