Met with land owner when we arrived at this cache. Land owner asked if we could remove this cache due to prior incidents to do with geocaching on their Land. Cache has been removed from location.
This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.
Out on a caching trip with Talla64, Taybee and TaybeeNZ. We were met by the very nice landowner who had a chat with us and requested that the cache be removed. So we did as she asked and she was very grateful. Thank you for the history and the cache Madge Family, but sadly this one is no longer there and should be archived.
On a mission to Manawatu with Floweydaze, Taybee and TaybeeNZ to pick up as many caches as time allowed today. Log signed as TNZFT to save space on the log sheet. With many logs replaced being "unsignable" and with CO's permission replaced missing logs and containers where required. Nice day after so much rain in the area, lots of evidence of heavy rain run-off water around. See Flowerydaze's log TFTC Madge Family
Based ourselves nearby for a few days to complete some of the local cache trails.
Another great caching day with no rain, great to be on the back country gravel roads with only bunny muggles and if ROS hits one there will be no further communication from the navigator and that’s it for the day.
No problem with the find TFTC.

I was able to fit in a bit of rural caching in the Manawatu today. An unexpected opportunity to escape the concrete jungle and enjoy the rural countryside for a few hours. No worries here.TFTC
A microscopic diversion off the main drag and alongside GZ. A few metres adrift but soon had the cache in hand, it was dry, clean and signable- yay.
After a relative famine of caches for me recently due to a number of factors I planned to head to Feilding and catch up with tommygun9 for a few mutual search targets, I was in two minds of what to get up to prior though, I was keen for some fishing to maintain a recent trout-less sequence (it continued!) and settled on another trip up the beautiful Pohangina Valley, it sure does turn on the style come Autumn. I've managed to track down some/most of the Wildbore Multi finals too and was keen to cache in those numbers.
A modest haul of 11 caches up the valley and 5 more in Feilding later in the day and a good day to be out and about. Edven bumped into Edvern out at the wetlands entrance and a nice catch up with her and her husband. Thanks to all COs for their hides today.

Mrs Rubbishparty was visiting Palmy for the weekend so decided today to explore the East side of the Pohangina valley having explore the West side last week. Started with a great walk in the Fern track then a few drivebys. No problems finding this one and don’t think I was being watched! Thanks Madge family for the smiley.
Collected under the watchful eye of some that already had this one. Collected while on a days caching with AGCNZ, Yeetrees and Edvern. TFTC
Spent the day in the area with edvern, Tramper Ted and Yeetrees after the poor weather put paid to a planned tramp. This one was a quick find by Jill of Tramper Ted. Signed log, TFTC
Found 13/9 with Deonrocks and zayn2016. Was a bit worried about being watched but we quickly found the cache. Interesting little place nearby. I wonder if someone still lives there. TFTC
Today's adventure was planned for the caches on the eastern side of the Pohangina River. I had thought about staring from the top and working my way down the river.
The next reincarnation of the post office sending mailing was sending it by the internet. I wonder if I am on the internet with the cameras stated on the nearby signs.
Cheers for the cache.

Decided to get up early this morning and try and Solve the Mystery at the Museum, having a few caches to get, I was deciding on a few options, but options being thin and far between, it was time to go to greener pastures. Having a few more caches to get in this area a plan was hatched and it was time to go and pick up the remaining caches to see if I could solve this Mystery.
After finding GC7GMT2 - Freedom Camping (Manawatu), this was the next cache that I had on my list that I wanted to find in the Pohangina Valley, I decided to go to the top and make my way back out and make my way back out of it as then I wouldnt have to back-track.
Arriving near GZ, I managed to find a safe parking spot not too far from GZ, it was time to make my way to GZ, arriving at GZ and was about to look for the cache when the local farmer rode by with his son on the quad bike and asked me about the cache and where it was hidden, he wasnt too worried about it and after track down the cache in the most obvious spot, he was soon on his way again.
Managed to retrieve the cache, signed and then replaced it back as found. Thanks Madge Family for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (14616).
Now it is time to make my way back to the car and to the next cache on my list another cache closer to solving the mystery. Now where to next ......

Today I was out caching with my son ThatWeirdGuy04 and one of my regular caching friends Stardust718, with the aim of travelling around the Pohangina Valley to attempt as many caches as we could manage in our day, concentrating on the Wildbore series but also stopping for any others along the way or else caught our fancy.
All logs for today were signed at either "Team S.T.T" or else simply "S.T.T" as space on logsheets allowed. The weather forecast had not been the best for today, but we set of in the hope that there would be enough dry spells or at least breaks in the rain to allow us to collect enough caches to be able to complete the Mystery at the Museum event currently running through Groundspeak. After about 8 hours of caching we had collectively found 46 caches, with a further 7 DNF's, which was sufficient to enable my son and I to complete MATM.
We were able to park close to this one, and once we had sussed which Hint object applied, the cache became a quick find. It is in fine condition so the log was duly signed and the whole thing replaced exactly as found.
Thanks for placing this cache.

I teamed up with ThatWeirdGuy04 and TwigNZ for a day of caching in the Pohongina Valley to work our way through the requirements for the Mystery at the Museum event. I'd looked at the Wildbore series when it first came out but hadn't had the chance to come out here and find them until now. We had a good day finding 46 caches in 8 hours between showers of rain. We signed the logs with our team initials - S T T or team STT depending on space. We were pleased with the condition most of the caches were in today so very little maintenance was required. The roads were however, rather narrow with the edge begin quite boggy so many of the caches we had to park away from and walk back.
Went to the wrong hint object first after parking next to it then noticed the other. A quick find after that false start. Log and container all good so signed and replaced.

How interesting to see this building still standing. We must have driven past several times and not realised the significance. Neatly hidden. A favourite for the history here, thanks Madge Family.

Saw this cache come live, and decided to hold off getting this one as we had a specific challenge in mind so toay was the day that we would come for a drive up into the mighty pohangina valley and do a maintenance run on our ones out this way.
Once at ground zero this cache was a quick find.
Thanks for the smiley and the placement
Managed to venture inside a few years back.

bit of a geocaching weekend for us and at times we joined forces with other teams so logs have been signed either 2 Bulbars, 2x, bwx depending on how many in the team had signed the log before.
The weekend started midday Friday and finished about 6 pm sunday. We didn't go too hard and stopped for sleeps and good meals basing ourselves in Feilding . The weather was good all weekend although it did rain a little bit at night.
Many thanks to all the COs who placed these caches making it possipble for us to enjoy our hobby.
I must say sorry for all the cut and paste but if we really enjoyed a cache I will add a bit at the start of the comment so you don't need to read right through.
Thanks to our driver who supplied the car and the good person who put a thermos and a few snacks in the car for us so we could keep our strength up

A quick find and a good cache, despite a muggle car being parked right next to GZ but there were no muggles in sight! I quickly wrote the log and re-concealed carefully.TFTC!

Team BOP decided that with the MEGA rapidly approaching, we need to boost our numbers so we could try for a milestone number at the Mega. I am approaching my 3000th cache but was still about 325 caches away from that. Reaching the milestone may or may not happen, but this weekend certainly was about the numbers. I had an initial target I was trying to beat and that was my highest number of caches found in one day and we comfortably beat that, achieving 158 caches (subject to confirmation, once I log them all).
The best way to do the high numbers is with power trails and out here, there is a smorgasborg of powertrails.
We loaded up the van, gathered up all seven of us and headed to our accomodation somewhere in the middle of nowhere, getting there well after dark. The location was convenient, as it was right in the thick of a power trail territory.
There was no splitting us up, as we only had one vehicle, so we all experienced the cache locations, some beautiful and some not so.
As with powertails we have done in the past, there was a high proportion of waterlogged caches, but unlike powertails we have done previously, we managed to find every cache and were glad to be able to clear out an area. Also, with powertails, comes cut and paste logs, to which I apologise for.
Thanks to all those CO's who have placed the caches out there. Without you, our fun road trips wouldnt exist. We all had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend and got home completely shattered. It was so worth it.

Team BOP on tour in the Manawatu-Whanganui Region... With Gap (of Fap and Gap), (Mr) Davidson clan, McJandals, NZFlossy, Philip.Perry, and TNXPro.
This weekend had been in the pipeline for ages. It was always going to be a mission for various team members to get coordinated leave passes... We secured accommodation in the rural heart of the Manawatu. This placed us well within reach of a massive trail of caches... We travelled in one vehicle, so our journey was filled with lots of laughs, and good times... Fortunately, the majority of caches were in place and were fairly quick to locate - thanks to straightforward hints and great coordinates. Many of the caches had not been found in a while, so containers were waterlogged, and logbooks were wet... Thank goodness for waterproof paper. A huge thank you also, to the various COs who made our weekend worthwhile...
The neighbours were herding cattle across the road. We parked a little way off and sent one of the Team in so as not to draw too much attention. TFTC.

Road trip time! This weekend Team BOP consisted of Davidson Clan, TNXPro, Squirrelnutcase, FapAndGap, McJandals, NZFlossy & myself. We'd had this trip on the cards for a while but only recently had we locked in all the details. We were off to central Manawatu and we had a very narrow list of ‘must gets’ so this trip was essentially a numbers mission. We had a great time and managed just over 200 finds. Most of the caches were found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and straight forward placements although we replaced a lot of logs and a few containers as well. A huge thank you to the CO’s as this was a beautiful area to visit and there was certainly an abundance of geocaches!!
On a road trip with Team BOP, having a blast and gathering a few smileys along the way. Please excuse generic logs in advance. Many Thanks to all you cache owners for the placements. Cheers
On a road trip with Team BOP to Feilding. Set off Friday night and back home Sunday. Lots of caches and lots of laughs with great weather and great scenery. Thanks to all the COs for giving us a awesome trip
a day out collecting all the wildbore caches that have been popping up around here, the rain was off and on and we took most of the day but well worth the drive and the great history of the area. - thanks for taking the time to give us some great inside to the area and of course the caches
- have emailed CO about location, had the farmer pull up behind us very unhappy that people have been in his paddock, and want to make sure that at no stage does anyone go into his paddock the cache is located road side so please do not cross the fence.

Nice quick park n grab with my fellow cacher. And what a cute wee cottage. We talked about whether the cottage was empty or still had furniture in it. Would love to see inside it. TFTC in this awesome series!
Early morning start to find some caches on Pohangina Valley East Road before ten pin bowling later in the morning. Quick park and grab here. Thanks Madge Family for the cache.
What better thing to do on this beautiful, fine, mild winter day than go up into our beloved Pohangina Valley and do some geocaching?
So we packed up a picnic and off we set, our sights on 12 Wildbore caches we had yet to find. Well we found 10, and enjoyed our peaceful day in the valley with it's lovely vistas of terraces, hills and valleys, snowy mountain backdrop, trees and birds - bliss.
All the way up the valley we have been enjoying the peace and quiet - there has been hardly anyone about - but that's good for caching. It belies the busyness of the past with forest felling, bush burning and so on that was going on all the way up here then.
This was cache #7 for us today. This was a very quick find, especially with such a good hint. We hoped we weren't being watched - we certainly seemed to be by ourselves. This was our turn around point today - time to head down to pick up the caches further south on the Pohangina East Rd (having come up the western side earlier). TFTC

I was up working in Gisborne over the weekend when these new Wildbore caches were released. I’ve got a couple of days off now to make up for working all weekend and I tantalisingly close to the World turtle for the Hidden Creatures souvenir grab, so I decided to head back up the valley for these new caches.
I didn’t have a particularly successful day I must say. The stars must not have been aligned as the muggle forces were working against me in the form of powe company staff or farmers working right near the cache spots. I only needed four more for the world turtle and thought that out of six caches, I would achieve this but I was wrong only achieving three but I have a slight finger hold on the turtle’s back leg now.
This was actually my first stop of the afternoon but soon after my arrival before I could start searching, this crazy guy screamed to a stop, and reversed in to the gateway at some speed and proceeded to just sit there. God knows what he thought I was doing but I decided that it was best I leave. I headed done to the nearby cache and the school bus passed me so I figured he was picking up his kids so I after finding the other cache I waited and he soon pulled away at a speed that was akin to leaving a crime scene. With his kids in the car. Made my way back to the go and the cache was quickly found. Bit muddy underfoot though. TFTC

#10,252. {FTF} at 10:12. We enjoyed learning the local history of Pohangina from this series. A farmer on a tractor was not too far away from GZ when we visited. Waited for a short while before they left from view. Quick find. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
