Reperio 10:00I was headed to Sydney this evening for a 2 day course, and so it gave me a great opportunity to find a few caches along the way. I took in the little detour to do this series, and for the most part of it, all the caches were found, although most had wither wet logs, or needed maintenance in some way. With the series being situated along a busy road with not a lot of room to park in most places, the process was a lot slower than expected. All in all though, a good day was had. This one took some time to find.Gratias aries44duoAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV

Out and about again, left Queanbeyan very early this morning and headed to Sydney via Bateman Bay and along the coast. Not after big numbers of hides but after getting LGA numbers.

Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today

Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides I found.

A small challenge to find, but we got it thanks.

Cache had gone for a wander from its home. A quick chat with the ballasts and reassuring them we weren't there to destroy their home and they showed us where we should be looking.
Cache placed back in hidey hole.

Up from the Can visiting family. The geobro, goldfinger777, had a 'leave pass' for a few hours so off we went for a holiday geomission! Big Grin

After getting out of the geounit and making his way a few metres into the scrub, goldfinger 777 had a nasty sting from a bullant. Luckily it was only one, as just as we looked down to see what stung him, hundreds came swarming out of the nest we just stood on! SurprisedSurprisedSurprised

We made a VERY hasty retreat then went in from a different direction where the cache was found in a few moments.

Thanks for the hide, aries44 Smile

Dan decided to cycle Heathcote Road to do these caches. He thought that it would be a bit easier than trying to park on this narrow and very busy road. This was very nicely hidden. Deserves a FP. TFTC aries44

Found on a perfect Winter day for a drive down to the Gong and surrounds. Wink
Met up with fitzy65 and minniek for a fun day out and a big caching adventure.
A few good safe hides and not many muggles around.
Cache condition is OK/good.
Thanks for the cache aries44duo,

Headed out for a days caching with fitzy_1965 and Roostaman.

As the light faded we weren't so quick in making finds.....as well as battling through all the underbrush....parking was a bit precarious too.

Both Roostaman and I actually picked this one up during our search but just as we were about to give up I took a closer look and found the sneaky hide.

20,892. Found during a caching loop from Moss Vale, Wollongong and up to the Sutherland Shire with minniek and our caching Mate from Wagga - Roostaman !!

I mentioned to Roostaman - who was in Moss Vale for a few days caching - that we were heading down Wollongong way for a few specific caches, and we decided to team up again for what turned out to be a pretty epic day. Heading up the highway now and we started the SSFTFH Power Trail. The traffic was picking up now and parking was 'fun' ! Bush-bashed to GZ for the sneaky find. Glad we had brought our torches !

Apologies for the late log just a tad busy with the fires. Again another christmassy cache find on Boxing Day with only a few minutes drive from home it’s a case of calendar filling and an outing to burn off some seasonal treats. I always enjoy seeing caches like this, I have one just like it this sitting in a container ready for deployment. Quick find, replaced as found TNLNSL TFTC

Back in Sydney for some more meetings and time for a few more caches in this series, today I came better prepared for the charcoal.
After a short this one was in hand.

# 5824 Grabbed while overnight in Campbelltown after a Xmas party. After a few DNFs in and around Campbelltown, I decided to try my luck on this trail. It was getting quite warm and I knew I would not have time to complete it. I enjoyed the variety of caches and the bushland, but sadly this road is one long tip.
Thanks aries44

Well after a day at a conference today was my free day to grab a few caches around the Sydney area. My first target was the Sunderland ftf trail and after that the plan was to go through the suburbs grabbing a few caches on the way back to the hotel. Ended up with 73 for the day plus a few dnfs, which is hard work on your own.

Tftc and making my day so enjoyable.

The caches on the Sunderland ftf trail were brilliant. So much work into making some of them.

Out this afternoon with SmudgeyCat finding the rest of the caches in the Sutherland Shire FTF Hounds Power Trail that I hadn't already previously found. Was searching for these as part of the clue hunt to solve the Mystery at the Museum puzzle.
Most of the caches were easy to find, though the 'hanging' ones were generally a lot more difficult. Due to the recent bushfires, there is some dead-wood undergrowth and black soot still on the stems and trunks. So a word of warning - don't wear good clothes, as they will get covered in black soot, and possibly scratched. Also drive, park, and walk with care along the road, as in some places there are big trucks rambling past just a few feet away. You'll probably need a good five hours to do the entire series, and four eyes are definitely better than two for some of the finds.
For this cache - read the hint, and eventually found the cache black in brown. Found with SmudgeyCat M. TFTC Big Grin

I decided to take myself on a little drive along this road studded with caches - I could not belive how busy it was, I had to be very careful pulling off the road and back into traffic. Great set of hides, TFTC!!

04-Jul-19
Found at 10:50:35 AM: GAFF3 in the company of Alansee.
What a tough cache that was - much more difficult than a lousy D2.0!
Thanks aries44duo

04-Jul-19
Did these in the company of pprass. The day started off iffy and steadily went downhill weather wise. We managed 16 of the series before giving it away. The cars and trucks didn'nt help either.

18-May-19
This was the last day of our current geocaching holiday in Australia, and so we couldn't resist the opportunity to make the most of the last few hours we had before heading off to the airport to fly back home to search for the first 26 caches in this series. It was a crazy road to cache on with the traffic being so busy and fast, and so with the close spacing of the caches it really felt like playing dodgems as well as geocaching! This one took longer to find than it should have, but maybe because the recent fire had made the clue one of the least black objects! We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe

Good hides, and good fun.

#6117 (1 of 4 today)

I need a find today for my Calendar Finds goal. Just the one, of course. But in the spirit of overdoing it, I decided to try for a few more than that.
My problem was today was shopping day, so I couldn’t get anywhere much before 4pm. So where to go?

Decided on the SSFTFH Powertrail, despite the long drive to get there. That way I can stop when it starts getting dark. Now the only problem is where to park!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
On approach I assumed the cache would be in a certain area. Once I got there I noticed something, then ignored it.
Nothing spotted and I finally came back to that first spot. And that something. Yep, there it is - CIH!

Log was quite damp, but still managed to sign - which I expect will be an unreadable red blob in no time.
Hmmm, that stretch of road ahead looks disturbingly close to the trees...

Tackled the 'Sutherland Shire FTF Hounds' powertrail today.

Pros:
Variety (users and containers)
Coordinates (pretty accurate)
Great to see the regeneration here after the fires!

Cons:
Dangerous road (100km/h, high traffic area, limited shoulder space)
Pollution (rubbish and car parts)

We were stopped by the Australian Federal Police, but after explaining what Geocaching is, they let us go on to continue the rest of the trail.

Thanks!

Trip away with woolwood9 and slowly heading to the Clear Waters MEGA.
Stamped logs as TM/WW NZ.
Another nice find for us today, thanks for putting this cache out.

*Really felt unsafe in places on this trail - the traffic was crazy!!*

Thanks for the placement

24-Mar-19
Browsed this power-trail and impressively, it has tripled in size since my last visit about a year ago! So brought my cross-bike down to whittle a few more away.
Due to muggle activities (#15) and placements on different sides of Heathcote road, I eventually visited in the order: 13, 14, 16, 22 to 31, then 21 back down to 17 and 15.
Thanks to all the CO's who have contributed to this collaborative power-trail.
Clearly, the geocaching community is alive and active in the Sutherland Shire.

#4788- Out caching with thomo31 and the road getting busier. An instant find with spot on co- ords. Thanks

11-Nov-18
With 30 in the FTF series, it was time to give this trail a crack. I had Team MavEtJu with me to lend another pair of eyes and hands and we made it from 30 to 1 in 3hr 15min. There were a few uncomfortably-close-to-speeding-traffic moments which does detract from the journey but it’s not really a park and grab scenario either.

Effective camo here, nicely played!

Thanks aries44 for being a FTF hound and participating in the series.

Out finding some local caches, disappointing the amount of rubbish on the road side, quick find, signed log and replaced. Thanks to aries44.

TFTC,
Aiming towards achieving an average 4 cache finds per day for the year.
Out today to build my numbers and clear a few new caches from the area around mt base.

Found Smile -- 12:43 pm -- Thanks for the hunt and Thanks for bringing us here to this location *aries44*.

**Cache Condition:** Good.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
**Trackables:** None seen in this cache today.

**The Cache**
Didn't take too long to find but was a little confused for a tad. SL and returned cache to its hide'y hole. I managed to miss a few caches so had to return to get them which messed up my sequence. I noticed how pongy it is along this road today, I thought there must be a tip nearby.

**The Day**
Woke up this morning bright and early and wondered what to do today - ah yes, I'll go geocaching, and why not visit *Seemyshells* hotel and drop off some trackables and run the **Sutherland Shire FTF Hound(s) Track**, so I bounced out of bed and looked at the sky, very foggy and overcast looking, but I heard the sun was going to shine, and shine it did.
Gorgeous day and quite warm while on the trail. Had four left to find, and desperately wanted to knock them off, but I know there will be more caches coming out and after missing this find I figured the remainder didn't matter - next time will do. Had to cut the day short anyway and urgently get home. OCW *DustyJapserJet*. Had a fantastic day !!! but when don't I when I'm out caching.

27 = 22 Smile 1 Sad 4 [8)] not attempted.

Pleased to report I did not get bricked in by all the builder’s waste here. Obviously people hang out here and enjoy peeling burnt bark off trees... anyway. Once I believed the coords I thought something did look out of place and sure enough it was hiding the cache. Thanks Aries!

Quickly found.

TFTC A44,
Rainy day, but I needed at least one, so made my way north to this trail, also needing to place a new one... quick find at GZ as I know this COs type of container.
Cheers mate

Some thing looked too unburnt...

22-Aug-18
After successfully completing some Woronora River caches in the canoe we came this way to pick up the as yet unfound caches in this series. We worked so that the caches were always on the left hand side of the road, so partway through the list we did a U turn to find the rest.
There was no difficulty in finding the containers, especially as fire had cleared the vegetation around most of them.
It was good to see the regeneration of the trees and other greenery starting to happen.
Thanks go to aries44 for this cache placement.

19-Aug-18
...and a nice modification it is Aries44. Took a minute or two, but otherwise quite quick. TFTC

18-Aug-18
I did some maintenance on this cache this morning with Mrs Aries due to a couple of reports. It should be OK now after my modification. Cheers, aries44.

17-Aug-18
On the way to Ulladulla for the weekend provided an opportunity to grab the last four of the FTF Hounds trail. All caches were quickly found, however, I wish I hadn't worn light coloured jeans. TFTC.

15-Aug-18
Having been away for 5 weeks it was time to catch up on this power trail.

Nice to see the trees growing back (only if it is just to hide the amount of rubbish dumped here).

A little detour to pick these up on my travel on a beautiful winters day. Had to be mindful to where I was walking, didn't want to be covered in the back burned Sud off the trees.TFTC

On my way for a walk in the RNP, i couldn't resist detouring to find the next bunch of this series.
This one was a nice quick and easy.
Thanks for the cache.

05-Aug-18
With a bit of time to spare coming back from a compulsory IKEA trip today I finally could clear the rest of this series today. That is until there are new ones popping up? Traffic wasn't too busy this Sunday afternoon and I didn't ran into any coppers so took only half an hour.

I found this sitting in the open next to its camouflage. Replaced where I thought it belonged. Could do with a check.

28-Jul-18
I intended to clear out #24 & 25 in FTF Hounds series to finish it off, then #26 was published yesterday. So with the geodog in tow, I parked near here and made my way along Heathcote Rd. At GZ, I had trouble locating this little one and was about to PAF, when I saw something that looked suspicious. Turned it over and had black fella in hand. Sneaky hide. TFTC

28-Jul-18
#2142 on the way down Heathcote Rd decided to have a look for the new 2 caches in the SFTFH trail as the sun had already set.. Didn't find #25 but found this one like Brew earlier almost gave up as tgere is lots of black in the area especially with no sun to light my way.

With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache aries44
