And an uneventful climb to find it on a quite warm Spring day. Great views from here! Thank you.
It was getting rather steep coming up this hill, so parked the bikes one corner before, and walked up the rest of the way. Cache found in the obvious spot. I really shouldn't have worried too much, as once I let go on the fear factor, coming back down on the bike was a heap of fun... getting braver all the time. Nice vista from where we dropped the bikes. Beautiful day to be out and about. TFTC Noikmeister
**Today:**
Mount McDonald seemed like a good location for today's exercise / hike ! I asked DSD if he wanted to join me, and despite already hiking this mountain before he also was keen to get out of the house for the afternoon!
Managed to find 5 caches up here today, with no DNFS! Saw a couple of other people near the trig station at the top, but apart from that it was fairly quiet on the hill
**This Cache:**
Not sure why this has to be "Uneventful", I think every cache find is eventful! It was a good location to take a break at before heading up the mountain.

Today I walked from the Mt Mcdonald carpark along the Crusher Road track to do a series iof caches in Uriarra Forest. On the way back, I mistook this hill for the summit of Mt McDonald. But the view from here was worth the extra effort. After signing the log, I continued up the mountain to the top where there are extremely good views. TFTC
After several weeks cooped up 'working from home', I needed to get out and get caching. I ask Aquilus1 if she is available, and sure enough she is. Trying to find a days caching that we both want to target, especially while Namadji is closed, was a little difficult, but we settled on Uriarra where Aquilus1 was missing about half the caches, and I was missing all but one.
So, which ones to target? We decided on ALL. OF. THEM. At least that was easy.
So we started with the 'west' loop first, which included a dirty great big hill, part way down and then back again. Very pleased to also pick up three puzzles long solved.
On our return to the car, no having suffered enough punishment yet, we then went and did the 'east' loop. It involved more down and then up.... but at least it was a long, sort of relaxing (if we ignored the ankle/feeat/leg pain) descent back to the car.
All caches found, though some took longer than others. Sorry for the generic log, we did quite a few!

When GreyHams asked if I wanted to join him for a bit of caching, I was indeed keen and also looking forward to get out for some fresh air and exercise. It ended up being a lovely day to be out in the area, and we sure got a lot of fresh air and a huge amount of exercise!!!
There were two close by but different sections we were looking at targeting, a few caches I had previously found but both sections held ones we both needed. Which ones do we decide to do... yes, ALL. OF. THEM!
Provided for a lot of walking, we got a lot of steps in but it is a nice area and still quite green after the rains from a while ago so made for a nice day as we walked the trails. The order for the day worked out well with the big hills tackled first and after our lunch of champions we moved across to the second area and once back up to the flat levels behind the village, much easier going to end the day on.
All caches were easily found but the one which took a lot longer hidden well but luckily spotted for the find. Thank you for your cache which led to an enjoyable day out!

A hot round 5km walk to pick up a handful of caches today. Sad to see the bush so so dry and dangerously stressed. Quick and easy find with great views over a very dry dam. TFTC noikmeister.
Grabbed this on the way down from the summit. We detoured to another knoll on the Cobby's Loop trail, finding views of the Cotter covered in a lot of smoke. Afterwards, we returned to Uriarra Village. Stopped at the Cotter to see the Murrumbidgee river well down due to drought. The campground was well used, including someone's pseudo-glamping effort with solar panels and a TV hanging in a tree. A TV for camping, WTF?!?
Se great views along the way and the cloud cover makes the walk very pleasant today. Quick find at gz. Tftc
This was one of the only green spots left for me in the area and after the nearby FTFs I passed so close by this one that I couldn't resist extending my hike. Normally no problem at all was I a bit in two worlds as I was surely pushing my leg a bit at this stage but no problem in the end. Quick find at GZ and enjoyed the views on the way back down.
Thank you Noikmeister for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

G'Day My Fellow Geocacher,
How are you doing on this fine day? I’m DARKSIDEDAN aka Daniel from Canberra, Australia and I have had the pleasure of finding your Geocache during my travels as a Geocacher. This cache was an easy find. I signed the logbook either Darksidedan or Darkside or DSD.
Your cache was found in good condition with plenty of room in the logbook
I love discovering Geocaches, Trackable items and collecting Pathtags. I have added your cache to my growing list of “Found It” logs. I hope that you enjoy Geocaching as much as I do. For me geocaching is a way of life. When I am not Geocaching, I am thinking of Geocaching. I would like to say a very big than you for placing your geocache and for maintaining it for the Geocaching Community. In 2019, I won the right to place a Virtual 2.0 Cache from Geocaching.com, but I have not placed it yet. I am just trying to find somewhere that is worthy of a Virtual Cache.
Here is a little information about me. I have been geocaching since 2015. At the time of finding this cache I have over 5600 finds plus 340 hides. I am the creator of the “Duck Dip” Lab Cache that won 2nd Place for the Australian Capital Territory in the State Vs State - Battle of the Lab Caches at the OzGeoMuster - The Gong Mega 2019 in Wollongong, Australia.
Now let’s talk Pathtags. Currently I have over 4600 Pathtags in my collection plus about 500 Etagz. I currently have two of my own Pathtags (45762 & 46950) with another one in the works.

I have included with my Found It log an Original and One of a Kind, Geocaching poem that I have written. I hope that everyone who reads it gets some enjoyment out of it.
Geocache Poem by DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.

I am currently writing very detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC called "The Author". This Badge challenges geocachers to write logs with an average length of more than one hundred words per log. As of the 14th August 2019 my average Found It log is 125 words per log. I would like to get all my logs up to more than 200 words per log but I will have to wait and see how I go. Currently I am just trying to get my average up by finding and logging as many geocaches as I can. My apologies to anyone who finds my lengthy logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain the highest level with this challenge. After more than 5,800 geocaches (which includes all cache finds up and including this cache, I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task very soon. Progress has been better than anticipated.

A CBC trip round and about Cotter Dam specifically to invite muggles to find caches for me . TFTC Noiky.
Out early on a clearing Sunday morning to finish off the Back of Cotter trail, complete the Village People trail and to summit Mt McDonald, collecting as many caches located along the way.
A few muggles out walking their dogs, the usual hoards of kangaroos and the odd horse grazing away. Some good hides, one I’ll just have to return to find and another that looked to be looooooong gone. Fine views on the way up Mt McDonald back down to the dam and beyond, as well as across to the South from the summit. With limited time for today’s adventure had to leave a few caches closer to the water for next time. Headed then directly down to Brindabella Road for the quick(er than back the way I came) hike back to the geomobile.
Thanks to all the CO’s for placing AND maintaining their hides. Apologies for the generic log, any specific, important or casual observations added at the end. I will be back, sooner rather than later. TNLNSL TFTC

Found at 11:54 AM GAFF1 in the company of noikmeister and DogboyOz .
Set up our caravan at the Hagan's and then we quickly worked out a tour to do on our bikes. A two hour route was worked out which ended up taking 2.5 hours.
This is where a Ranger went past in a car - so jealous [xx(]
Thanks noikmeister

A nice day to be out caching (and training for next months ACT 24hr rogaine champs). With a cluster of unfound caches, particularly TE caches, the area near Uriarra Village was perfect for a long walk. After a steady climb up from the car park on Brindabella Road, past the lookout and upwards to this cache. Cache soon found. Left TB. TFTC.

Great day for caching, went on a bike ride and the views on this mountain were great!
On my way to the trigs around Cotter Dam and Uriarra. These caches were a bonus for the day. I was tired and appreciative of the chance to stop for a breather and a cache find.
Spent a couple of hours around Mt McDonald this morning to complete 5 caches. TFTC.
After visiting the top, walked down to this one to make a quick find, then back up the hill...
Thanks,
Thanks,
Both me, TheSkype and 2 muggles veered off the village series caches to this cache and what do you know, a joint 2nd to find. No point trying to outdo T.E but I'm happy with a 2nd to find. This area is spectacular, loved it. Tftc.
Chooo ooo [FTF] just after sunset. The views of the sunset on the way up were spectacular (pic attached). - I chased a wombat up the hill for a bit, and given it kept pausing, I was able to keep up with for a while. Well, at least until I needed to veer off the path. Also startled a rabbit and a couple of roos. Views were still very nice at GZ, although the sun was truly gone now... It was dark by the time I got back to the car. Now for a longer hike for the next FTF! Thanks Noikmeister. Fav from me.
