No luck here today even though we looked amongst the rubbish bottles and visits by numerous dogs.
Despite a thorough search, no luck here today.
Too much rubbish & dog excrement.

I'd had a look for this one yesterday but after 10-15 minutes, I left without a smiley in the ledger. Following a bit of a think about what I'd seen or hadn't seen, I decided to mosie out for another search today. Thankfully last night's contemplation worked a treat and I finally spotted the sneaky hide at 17:30.
TNLNSL, although our licence geocoin had a visit to mark our first find for October. Thanks JuNiDiAn.

It was very nice to finally find this one. No wonder we had trouble finding it in the dark and it didn't help that my phones GPS showed I was 6mtrs off GZ at GZ. Doing our impromptu CITO's meant we were looking in the wrong direction. TFTC JuNiDiAn
All good at GZ. I was sitting nearby signing the the log when a passing elderly Italian lady engaged in conversation, firstly about the heat; yes it was 35 degrees then I heard all about her family, her children & grandchildren. TFTC
I was having another attempt at finding this cache after reading previously logs. It was still not an easy find as it tends to blend in well with it's surroundings. But eventually I was able to turn this frown upside down. Woopee. This cache has been a thorn in my side for a while now but finally found. TFTC.
Yes indeed, the cache is still in play folks.
Took a while for me to find it because I was looking too low, but there it was!
That’s my cache for today and continues my streak.
Ok, off to street orienteering at Oak Park now.

Fear not folks! The cache definitely IS here. It’s well camouflaged but not really difficult.
Lovely little urban patch of green. Even with a seat under a tree.

Sad face - searching by torchlight Bunadoorian and I looked high and low around this park. We searched where the pin is on the map, where both our phone's said GZ was and then extended the search for a lot of this park - after over an hour we gave up. We filled the nearby bin with empty bottles, rubbish, paint spray cans , and even a dead scooter! But unfortunately a cache was not found.
Grub62 and I were hunting around for this cache for over an hour and preformed our own little CITO. No luck. We looked up and down, around GZ and elsewhere. TFTC.
Giving a hint for a cache as easy as this one would contradict the whole game of Geocaching.
Where is the rational for a hunt/search for a treasure if everything is just given away...?
Yes, I know that my beloved Melbournians like the easy grab & go...
Ok, here is a hint: OPEN YOUR EYES AND YOU WILL (OR BETTER SHOULD) SEE
Happy caching!
Also, everyone is free to do some CITO - instead of complaining that some idiots use this little park as a dump, just take a bag next time you go caching and remove a bit of waste at the GZs you visit.

Caches without hints annoy me the most .
Addendum:
And so ends my streak, 2 DNFs tonight, 1st hide no hint- possibly missing cache. 2nd hide here was the same result D2 should not be that difficult, many muggles watching from their cars and foot traffic eyeing me suspiciously as I wandered in circles. In the end I had to admit defeat and I think I will never return to find this cache leaving the blue sad face on the map to signify how my 111 day streak came to an end.

After finishing the Mystery at the Museum challenge yesterday I thought that I would spend the day mopping up some of the Parkville caches before they are archived.
On the way home I took a detour for this cache. A fairly quick find. TFTC.

Suscoe called by here this afternoon.
Finally located this one when Mrs. S. Spotted the hide.
Thanks for this hide.

Visiting from Townsville Qld, and stopped in briefly with Whereswayneo, but DNF
Bingo! Nearly walked away again but there she is. Just as much rubbish as last time. If I lived here I’d run a CITO event! TFTC

I found myself driving close by with nothing better to do, so stopped for a quick squiz. The needle pointed away from the original sticky hiding spot from a few years back, but I still looked. It took a good few minutes before I managed to stand in the right place, and suddenly there it was, in a spot that looks made for the cache.
Thanks, JuNiDiAn, for a bit of fun. It really is a shame some people don't appreciate what could be a little gem of a park.

Out with xambo4u, we found this quickly, even though it different this time round. Great hide, thanks JuNiDiAn.
Out and about with echidna44 for another very enjoyable day of caching, and a magic day it was. Sun out but not to hot. Now clearing out the last of our Parkville puzzles etc. Nice easy find in a different style to what it was last time when we were here. Thanks for the cache junidian
Quickly passed by for some travel bugs to visit.
Cache is alright, where it is supposed to be and waiting to be found...

The final day of the Melbourne Parkville Mega event with the Godfather Freddo and gridge98, and it was a day of high terrain adventure caches, driving around collecting the Handbag series, and then riding around some more of the various river and rail bike trails collecting the Parkville caches.
This cache and contents turned out to be all good. Thanks heaps for the work and preparation towards this cache! Cheers.

xApologies for the generic log below:
Away for the weekend with Freddo and Davidwazza to the Parkville Mega.
My first mega that I had attended and I had a really enjoyable time.
Some of the log books were signed with my name others were signed with just a G part of the group name, a combination of KBJGD.
We were happily joined by KB who was a machine finding a lot of the caches.
Thanks to the CO for all the placement of caches, the earyh caches answers will be sent in the coming days also.
We were very successful in finding majority of caches but some we DNF.

I had looked for the original version of this cache, twice, without finding it. I had looked for the current version of this cache, twice, without finding it. On all of those occasions I’d been looking in the wrong spot - I had interpreted the thorns attribute to mean ‘find the spikiest thing around and make yourself bleed’ which is not what thorns means at all. Today it didn’t take too long before I was signing. Thanks Junidian
Took a little longer than I thought it would to find.. I like the fish !!

Really enjoyed this cache. I nearly gave up, but the geo-kids insisted we stay and they were the ones that found it!
I had a good hunt amongst all the rubbish, but could not unearth this one today. I shall return. Hate the spikey bushes, surely these count as thorns. I need more thorns for the Parkville challenge.
*Found whilst on a Parkville Puzzle cleanup*
Out and about with The Empire.
Back around the area again striving to cleanup before the Mega to ensure more socialising.
A nice walk around this area with a nice straight forward find.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment JuNiDiAn. Appreciate your efforts.

Stamped and returned as found...

Found by The Empire with Snap Happy
A move of the car meant we were able to check out this one. Snap was on his way back to the car when I made the find - a little bit away from our indicated GZ but here nonetheless. Thanks for the cache Junidian.

I saw the previous DNF’s and thought it may had gone the way of the Dodo Bird.
Persistence pays off sometimes, I wasn’t going to give up before exploring all possibilities.
Thanks for a good hunt. SL TFTC

Out with Greytiger on the hunt for caches. Greytigers sharp eye is in today and this one was quickly found. TFTC.
Thank you, JuNiDiAn for your cache, I had previously found your cache and got a smiley face then it disappeared, so I came back with amaali today for a second time and was not disappointed, a great hide and muggle free today.

Thank you, Junidian. Two goes to get this one, second time didn't take very long! Nicely hidden. Now to see what I can do with Merri Park.
Sadly, the trade for the sailing boat has sunk.
The wheels fell off the deal.
A trailer with flat tyres is about as much use as yacht with ripped sails.
As it turns out, the western saddle wasn't really ready to part company.
The thought crossed my mind to collect the naked Mr Ed's saddle.
Perhaps it could become a "companion saddle" for the western.
Or maybe not.
This little Bird was spotted using our 8 x 42 binoculars.
Nothing suspicious going on here officer.
I'm just looking for a Bird.
Ah!
There you are.
A few pics.
A most colourful specimen indeed. [^]

The World is going Crazy.
7 Prime Ministers in 10 years with the latest accidently falling into the position.
And here.
Two successive finds on the same treasure.
Last to Find
And
First to Find.
Don't know why a perfectly good treasure needs to be Archived and then a few days later reloaded in Exactly the same position. Still with banana prints all over it.
After an initial loss this placement has certainly had a controversial short history.
But looking around Mr Ed has still not picked up his saddle located amongst the strewn rubbish that appears around this site.
Is it valuable?
Don't know. But someone has swapped a saddle this week for a perfectly good sailing boat. The captain now has some new friends with the bananas hearing this news.
Anyway it will be interesting to see how long till the 8th Prime Minister appears. Expect an update before the end of this year.
