With a few spare hours today I drove down to Logan for another short stint of caching. With the obligatory trad, mystery and multi found quickly today, I had some extra time so I thought I would drop by and have a look at this Earthcache. I often struggle with Earthcaches but this one wasn't too hard. The answers were pretty easy to figure out and were sent off to the CO. Thanks RoddyC for the nice clear explanation given in this Earthcache and for the easy to understand questions. I did not know the difference between breccia and conglomerate so I learnt about that today.
After grabbing a bite to eat, I headed to this earthcache. I took photos so that I could answer the questions and the one required. With all the information gathered, I continued on my way. Answers have been sent to the CO. TFTC
An interesting exercise in observation in a quiet little park. It took me a few minutes to decide on my answers, which I will message now. TFTC!
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 149 - Logan Day 2. GCLOGAN event day 1. Grimraider, Kitty Katch, Smitten Granny and I set off to do some Labs near Rochedale and Sunnybank before the first big event for the week at Underwood park. There was a great food van onsite and there even some caches to do around the area. We were all allocated Where-i-gos for the afternoon, so off we went each separate group to give them a go. Once we had finished that we used the rest of the day to do some local caching around the area we ended up in after the where-i-go was completed. It was a latish return to the van where I cooked dinner and tried to do some of the logging I should It is going to be a week of falling further and further behind. After finishing our where-i-go, we headed on to a few more local caches. Having just done a cache around the corner, we decided to have a look at these rocks. There definitely seem different enough to not be here accidentally. We worked our way through the questions and prepared a set of answers that has been sent in.Thanks for the cache RoddyC49209.14 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Silver Shuttle A#232**Albida**
Thanks RoddyC for all the caches that you have contributed to our wonderful game. This was the last one found today while travelling with Albida33 and Kittykatch. Answers have been sent. I hope you found them acceptable.
GCLOGAN TripGreat to find these interesting boulders to examine. Answers have been sent to the CO. I am travelling with GrimRaider to GCLogan and then to western NSW on our first trip with the van. Thanks for hiding this cache RoddyC
We needed a few more points for the current souvenir so did these 2 earth caches. Always appreciate a RoddyC earth cache. Always educational and interesting. Thanks RoddyC for the cache and all you do for the game.
Our mission today is to complete a series of earth caches on international geocaching days. Out with legend and snigglepops exploring some south side places.
Out to collect some Cosmic Quest points on this International Geocaching Day with Legend WTGT and ILTW. Nice day for it.
Having come up to Brisbane for a great event this morning wed decided to visit a couple of Earthcache locations and this was the first. We chose this one because we didnt want to do a long walk today and so this was perfect. We learned some new things. Sent our answers to the CO who very patiently let us know a little more information for which we were grateful. Thanks for organising this learning experience about the world we live in RoddyC. Cheers and happy caching!
Have sent the answers through to CO. A quick Earthcache to do on a very wet morning in Logan, helping me to accomplish my Spell A-U-G-U-S-T in August challenge cache requirements. But Im already very wet (& now cold) from doing a nearby UGO. Now were in IKEA and using the Dyson hand dryers to make a feeble effort at drying off my t-shirt! All self-inflicted for the sake of geocachingGrateful this Earthcache didnt require university degree level geological knowledge to answer the questions!
Over visiting from NZ and using the time to do as much caching as other commitments allow. With the dodgy weather today, I decided to concentrate on catching up on logging. However, later in the day the rain eased off, so with the admin nearly up to date, decided to head out for a local cache that didn't involve rummaging around in wet vegetation. This EC was a perfect candidate.Answers sent to CO & just hope I got the counting and classifications right. TFT(E)C
A short stroll to find these out in the open. A bit of a climb Athen into the answers. Thanks for the find and geology lesson
On an agenda to finishing spelling July with different caches.. these 2 nearby seemed to fit that criteria. Cute little park.. no one around besides for me, the ducks and the Plovers oh and the neighbourhood dogs.. Answers signed and sent (accidentally twice sorry Roddy)..
This cache was on my target list for a challenge Im currently working towards completing. So after finishing work at 6 a.m., I headed out to collect the necessary information required to log this cache. The sun was just making its presence felt and was starting to burn off the chilly 10C when I arrived at the GZ. I had the park all to myself which made collecting the necessary info easy. Once collected, I sent my answers (plus selfie) through to CO.Currently working on completing GC5JETV "Can you spell JULY in July?" Challenge cache and I needed a cache beginning with the letter U. This cache fits the bill perfectly.TFTearthC RoddyC. TBs Prado Owl ; The Great Leap Forward Geocoin ; Bee Croc ; Rawhide ; RobS72 2000 Finds GC ; Forest Hill Ear Tag ; Iceland Geocoin ; and Kiwi Bird visited.Find # 2225.
Out today with Hatzofff on a maintenance run. I wandered over to study this earthcache. I wonder who put them here and why. Thanks RoddyC. All good with this Earthcache.
When we pulled up there wasnt much car parking available because there was an open-house in progress. So I had to play the superiority card and pulled out my geocaching license. I didnt feel good about pulling rank on common folk and the people (our subjects) werent happy but they made space for us to park. The first thing we saw before we were regaled with rocks, was a baby bird sitting on one of them. It had clearly fallen out of a nest in the tree above us because we could see lots of them. It would have been easy to feel sorry for it, but who hasnt wanted to kick their husband or wife out of bed because the farts they do in their sleep would kill a small army. We felt sorry for that bird but it wasnt in distress. With maybe 10 or 11 secret spices it looked like a yummy snack. We got to meet some fellow cachers at GZ who were chasing the same EC souvenir as us. Hello to the GRuBs and thankfully they didnt take our answers because they were wrong. Mrs Woodyrothwell and I thought that we had aced our first EarthCache and even did an embrassing victory dance that looked like we were having a stroke. We submitted our answers hoping that the $100,000 university degrees our parents paid for werent a waste of money. They were! tftc
Seeing there was a souvenir on offer for an Earthcache off I went to the nearest Earthcache to me. Also ran into fellow geocachers woodyrothwell and his wife. Answers and photo sent.
Visited Urban Earthcache to make the observations. Interesting assortment of feature boulders here. Thanks for the earthcache RoddyC!
Having been stuck at home with tradies on site for a while now, I took the opportunity of a public holiday to get out & do some exploring. I’m not crash hot on earth caches, but am giving it a go. Answers & photo sent to the CO. TFTC

What a cute little park in the middle of suburbia and with an Earthcache too. I have sent my answers to the CO. TftEC
Today, jesswrigley and I planned the morning with a mountain bike ride in Daisy Hill / Koala Bushland Coordinated Conservation Area. We roughly followed the waypoints of [MTB Madness](https://coord.info/GC1J639) whilst making a clockwise loop around the area, followed by an early banh mi lunch.
I then had a solo afternoon that I utilised to visit many of the Daisy Hill *Parks and Recreation Series* caches, and finally, I took a visit to Kimberley Forest Park before then needing to dash to make a Brisbane CBD pickup.
I always enjoy EarthCache lessons, even with the simple ones, as they not only bring you to places, but they give you a background and lesson that is relevant to the geology feature that is present (how many of us are guilty of not reading the descriptions of physical caches when we are out and about, unless we have trouble attempting to find it?). So this EarthCache appeared to be simple, but as I was with the CO team here, I was too busy chatting that I missed reading the description. I quickly scrolled down to what I thought were the required questions, and I was beginning to answer the three particle-size questions that felt quite complex. The CO was quick to point out my blunder, and then the rest was fairly easygoing. A good specimen to have had an EarthCache. Thanks RoddyC for the EarthCache organisation and placement.

Another appointment on this side of town. I guess I should be grateful that each appointment takes me to a suburb where there are caches to be found. This was a nice easy study of the rocks and even Mr10 was able to help me (well he was forced to help me as he should have been at school!)
I have been out targeting some Earth caches to learn about rocks and how they are formed. Loved these examples of rocks and i hope that my answers are ok. I was debating with myself about my answer. Thanks once again for taking me here and for teaching me about the rocks around. Giving this one a FP for all the fun
Another nice cache RoddyC. TFTC. damn phone died so had to rely on the Princess for the hunt. Cheers again from the Jester-kiwi and the Princess
Tuftc. Another great hidden park cache. Attempted this on the way passed as we forgot about Earthcache day until late. Have to carry my geostepdad as he forgot to charge his phone and it died on route so he had to rely on mine. Next time, I am making sure I have my spare power bank with me in case this happens again. Sent answers to CO and hopefully are correct.
Karicka asked if I’d like to cache today, and I jumped at the opportunity… so with a small select group of targets we planned… starting here, I arrived early so decided to have a whack at this Earthcache…
I fondled the boulders as per the COs request…

Found with mnance101 today. A nice spot to sit here under the tree with a breeze blowing to answer the questions. We discussed the answers and sent them through. A quiet little park. Tftc
Here to do a puzzle cache with KerriMG so better try and work out this earth cache. Hope my answers are satisfactory

Late start for the day. As I was heading towards Victoria Point I rung Muggle65 and Green Geckos to see what they were doing. Green Geckos said they were heading Southside. I ask if they would like to help with some high D/T caches. They said yes.
Why waiting for them. I did 3 waypoints for Adventure Labs.
My finds count for today was. 9 Finds the breakdown was 3 mystery, 2 traditional, earthcache and 3 waypoints.
We were in the neighbourhood and Muggle65 said there was earthcache here. Okay add another one to the smiley list

We &I were in the area & an Earth cache was on our list to tick this afternoon. The more I do the more I learn. I will keep logging EC’s and become better.
Dayboro QLD Mega - Day Four:
The fourth day of our mega road trip with buhfuhguh!
Another 12+ hour day of caching, one of the highlights was finding nine Earthcaches, I am sure that is a daily record for me! Just crazy! A whole bunch of challenges, wherigos, virtuals, letterbox's and Australia's most Eastern cache were also good to grab. A very long but eventful day!
We started in Casino, NSW at 7am and finished up in Bray Park, QLD at 10pm completely buggered! Thanks to all the CO's

This Cache:
Another Urban Earthcache, it's even in the title!
Love a nice, quick Earthcache too, and the questions for this one were very straightforward.
Examined the rocks, took a photo at GZ which I won't post here as it shows the rocks, and answered the questions. Sent off to the CO and approved!
Many thanks RoddyC, interesting boulders in this park!

As soon as we walked in I realized I had been here before to do this EC! Not the first time this has happened I also remembered I had a nearby DNF to avenge! TFTEC - logging today before I forget again!
Out with EatSleepCacheRepeat and hunting down some Earthcaches. This was a nice quick cache in a little out of the way park area. TFTC!
A couple of weeks ago we had the opportunity to be down south for the day. We visited various parks in this area and this was one of them. We are still to revisit this park to collect another one which had stumped us on our last visit. We will be back!
We also enjoyed visiting this earthcache and have sent our answers to the CO.
Thanks RoddyC for taking the time to place this one here.

Out and about today grabbing some Earthcaches I had spied on the map whilst visiting family on the Gold Coast. I managed to visit 5 different Earthcaches today which was great also picked up a few random traditionals that were nearby.
Love visiting Earthcaches when away, get to learn some more new things about different locations. Submitted answers and photo through to the CO who gave a very quick thumbs up approval to log - much appreciated
Thanks for the Earthcache and geology lesson RoddyC

Answers send. A surprise to find rocks of this type in this kind of place! Made it more interesting, thank you for bringing us here. It has been a while since we done an earthie, a nice change. Thank you for bringing us here
Once upon a time, the STWs were confirmed Earth Cache haters and geology avoiders. How time does change things! These days we not only tolerate, but enjoy, completing Earth Caches, so when we pulled up here and Roddy C suggested we could complete the EC while he checked on a nearby hide, we were thrilled to do so.
In the decade or so that is has taken to convert us from EC-haters to EC-lovers, we have learned an awful lot about geology, and the content of this simple EC was already familiar to us. As the CO was already with us in the park, we just had to rattle off a few simple answers to him (no email necessary!). All our answers were correct and the CO gave us permission to log.
What an odd pile of rocks! The talk of breccia reminded me of where I first learned of it, back in Malaysia where a number of the limestone caves in the area had some impressive examples.
We found the three rocks here as odd and fascinating as the CO himself did. Thank you for pointing them out to us!
