Checked all the spots i could think of at the gz with no luck. Second time back to find this cache.
I have been watching this developing subdivision with interest, there sure is no shortage of work for builders these days eh. It seemed only one house is occupied as yet, though I could be wrong, another residence had a complete set of gumboots at the front door. It all is such a different scene than this time last year.
Thanks for the cache .

Had to check out this new subdivision on our way past. The Seagnoid wanted to track the streets so we ended up going up and down all the streets before returning here for a quick snag and tag. Cheers. Then The Seagnoid tracks the shortcut and another road thats cordoned off while I go snag Toby and pick up up close to the entrance.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geotrip to Nelson. We are on the hunt for points for the Carnival season so targeting the best caches Nelson has to offer. Zara is keeping the neighbours company while we zip around with Toby.

According to the map this is a cache in a big empty square. Farmland. According tot he cache description this is in urbia. And urbia it was. Taybeedragon and I drove around the square looking for a way in, then I turned on tracking on my gps and we drove up and down every road to plat them, so I can later add them to the maps. Will do that tomorrow. Then went and found the cache, which was very much not in farmland. While Taybee was one with the log, I grabbed the GPS to mark out the shortcut walkway, then walked back via the blocked off road while the dragon drove back and picked my up at the entrance. Tomorrow: updated maps!
With the latest Groundspeak promotion, Cache Carnival, I loaded my GPS with a pocket query containing all caches with 10 favourites or more between Nelson and Motueka. Over 1000 carnival points, should be enough to get me to 500 and the Grand Poobah souvenir; Rio de Janeiro. Except that I forgot the other aspect of the game, and I started this trip with 350 points, achieved while sitting on my arse, doing nothing. Taybeedragon has bet that I can get to 500 without finding a single cache, simply due to others placing favourites on my caches.
So anyway here we are, Taybeedragon and I, targeting better-than-average caches.
Took only 8 cache finds to get to 500 points. Yet to see if I could have done it with no finds at all...

A quick find after attending a local event hosted by the CO, subdivision seems to be progressing very quickly but the little walkway will always be a nice feature for the area. All in good order.
A quick find after an event hosted by the CO. All quiet here today, all in good order, signed log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache bullertrout.
A second trip 'over the hill' in the last 3 weeks and the third consecutive Saturday I've passed the Tennyson inlet turn-off. Suppose that makes me somewhat of a creature of habit! The reason for todays trip was to pick and buy a car for mrs capperz after the recent moving on of the Honda Cinic to our daughter. We'd checked out a few options 2 weeks ago and were sure what make and model it was to be, today was all about the real essentials; kms, age and colour. We settled on one model in particular but missed the 'cut off' of 1200 when the Warrants can be completed and the all essential paperwork done. So we must come back on Tuesday after Nelson Day and prior to Waitangi in a small (one-day) window of opportunity. Hope to get some caches when over that way too! Once all that faff was out of the way and we'd had a pie for lunch it was time to head off and get some caches whilst they went to the shops. Nowadays the start of any options are quite distant after mopping up new placements so I settled on Wakefield as my centre of target. Managed a decent haul of 12 caches in the 2 hours available and back in time to collect the pax before heading back whence we'd come.
First up here along a new road into the housing estate and after initially parking on the main road and wandering, I headed back for the car and tried witha park n grab option. Immediate success and replaced as found.

Quick find while heading home after being out for the day with geocaching family who were up from Christchurch. Thanks for the cache.
In town on a wee family summers holiday visiting family. Heading back to my Sisters after taking all the kids for a swim out at the Salt water pools in Motueka. Grew up in Richmond - this was all orchards when I was growing up......a burgeoning subdivision now! Weird seat with a view of not much?!
Time to return to the fold, and find a few new caches, this being the first for some while and very nicely hidden in an obvious place, certainly no hint needed. Nicely done and thanks for the cache.
out and about on a bit of a circular drive for a few caches this evening as a bit of distraction from other things. I didn't realise there was so much development going on in here. nice peaceful spot at this time of day. TFTC # 13,197
On my way home from Mot this afternoon and being a Sunday it seemed like a good idea to head into this new subdivision. All very quiet. Just how I like it. I sat down and wondered about the positioning of these benches. I think I’d rather be facing the other way. More to look at.
A quick find and sign.

A nice quick find while having a lunch time stroll by the creek starting from Paton Road. Not sure why they have made the path so wide though? TFTC bullertrout
Out with the dog this morning having a wander around the new subdivision. Thanks for the cache.
All day I had been waiting for the rain to ease as had planned to take an evening drive out somewhere to pick off some caches to move me on from a twosie day; all day the rain has come down and now its getting to dusk and if there's one thing less pleasant than caching in the rain, it's caching in the rain and dark.
But, if no cache was found today then my 3+ per day target would take a serious hit, and I'd be Up the Creek, so a local, nearby cache it'll need to be.
This recent hide - thanks bullertrout - has increased the number of local 'findable' caches out there and an evening visit seemed sensible given the location.
Navigating the warren of new roads, I parked close-ish, but could probably have parked closer. Shame I didn't as I was drenched by the time I reached the GZ.
A quick find was very welcome.

Lovely morning to be out and about. Haven't had a chance to explore this area before now. All good with the cache too. TFTC, Biggles.
Like the FTFer I was surprised when I arrived shortly after this was published to find the CO's car here. That was ok maybe I might still have a shot at the FTF but no, half way to the cache i met up with BT and KE too slow. I didnt need a cache that day for my calendar challenge so left it for another day, today is that day. A quick find thanks for hiding BullerTrout

Another enjoyable day geocaching with ulmusLynx.
Arrived at GZ and it wasn’t long before the cache was spotted.
Beautiful area.
Thank you bullertrout for the cache and bringing us here

Roads not on GPS yet but after a few false starts NO 13 & I found a walkway thru. Easy find in a currently peaceful spot. TFTC
We were out and about in the Lee Valley area and had recalled this cache existed as we drove there. So we took a slight detour on the way home. Autorouting was of no help but the way to access the area was clear on approach and we manged to park in a perfect spot. It was cold in the wind by then so a short walk suited us and the instant find was even better. Home before the very threatening dark could turn into rain.
Thanks. It would be a nice spot by the creek on a nice day.

I have a friend who lives very close to this subdivision, she worked nights and has had months and months of heavy machinery keeping her awake during the days as they prepared the subdivision. Then she has had a few months of noise associated with building. She will be very pleased once it is all full and the noise lessens. So while visiting her I have also watched and heard about the developments of this subdivision since it first started.
I had been by a creek all day today, well it was more a river than a creek. I was trying to get a feed of whitebait for my dad who is coming to stay for the weekend. It was really hard work in the wind to even see if there was any bait in the river. Got enough for him to have an entrée so that was worth it.
I was feeling pretty shattered by the time I left the river - so I was delighted to think this would be a nice easy find. I must admit I did not feel like having to head for the hills to find a cache today.
I parked and found a wee walkway to follow, it lead exactly where I needed it to be and an instant find was made. I was pleased that the builders who were in the area were far enough away to not see what I was up to.
Thank you for placing this cache, and thank you for the smilie

Thanks for the cach right in my back yard. So a leisurely stroll a long the new path by the stream and a seat to sit on and thing, from paddocks to houses in such a short time. TFTC
Out grabbing some of the new caches published last night. Made our way to GZ and found the cache alright but was keeping an eye on the very noisy doberman's in the paddock across the creek. That fence looked low enough for them to jump. Anyway apart from a lot of barking and growling, they stayed on their side of the fence thankfully. Log signed and returned and we were out of there before the dogs decided they could jump the fence. tftc
After a detour from further South for some maintenance and to check out some new placements since we passed last we got back in range and our inbox was inundated. We expected to be pipped at the post and so it was. To be second in what had to be a mad dash still has to be an "achieve" Thank you bullertrout
We were on our way home from Greymouth and had already detoured via Westport and Denniston so this detour was just a very minor blip on our trip. A quick find here.
Thank you bullertrout.
Thank you bullertrout.
FTF!!! I had just got home from work so this was perfect in terms of timing and location. Shot off to find the cache and was rather puzzled at the vehicle that was parked in front of me when I got there. It was the CO. Isn't this your cache I asked? All was explained and then we wandered along to make the find. A good spot for the cache and not where I had thought one would be placed here.
Thanks bullertrout for the cache.
