Attempt 2 on a visit to Silverton for Metal to the Max, our gps was throwing us out but once in the right area it was an easy find
Found this cache in a very sad place for a lot of people. The cache was in good condition. RIP all that are here,
Working with geo-dad Cliff5009 to grab a few caches. He got to this one before I did though.I have the autobiography of Pro Hart, and always visit the gallery every time I go through Broken Hill. And readily remember the Oh Mr Hart series of ads. Always a funny thing to see.My squiggle is now in the log. Thanks to CO for placing it here and the history.
Had a quick find here today , Thanks to Thewhitedoggang, all is in good condition
TFTC GREAT PLACE TO VISIT, WENT TO GG GRANNIES GRAVE. PRO HART AWESOME RESTING PLACE
Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi. Staying in Broken Hill for a few nights and grabbing a few caches as time permits, given we are travelling with muggle friends. Had just come from the Pro Hart gallery, having purchased an original screen print, and thought that it would be appropriate to visit the graveside. B, in her career, had done a lot of his business books, and his accounting books were always decorated with his art and were impressive. Arrived at the grave and was impressed with it. It was simple but entirely appropriate for him. Took the obligatory photos. Then wandered over to GZ, and quickly located the cache, but someone had jammed a small dinosaur into the container and just about broke my pocket knife, getting it out to extract the log. Signed the log and replaced it in the cache but not the dinosaur. Now back to our van for drink o'clock. Gratias pro cache thewhitedoggang
After walking from one end of the very long cemetery to the other end we found the cache quite easily! TFTC
We are well aware of the artwork of Pro Hart, but we have enjoyed seeing some of his sculptures around the town today, particularly his giant ant sculpture and some of the smaller ones out at the airport. We were not aware of his broader visual artworks aside from his paintings. After paying our regards to June Bronhill, we came to visit the grave of this artist, which in itself is a beautiful work of art. Log signed where all is well here. Thanks thewhitedoggangA FP added. Domsky
Mr Hart would be very pleased to have those people come and visit him in place of rest Thanks thewhitedoggang
What a massive cemetery. Got our daily exercise walking from one cache to the other. Did have plenty of stops as we looked at various graves. So many young ones. TFTC
Wow, I have to wonder if indeed Pro Hart would have wanted such an ostentious grave. We found your cache today 20 May 2024 1:58pm , while enjoying another day in our beautiful countryside. TFTC thewhitedoggang
Who can't hear the name Pro Hart without thinking of the spaghetti tossing Stainmaster ad..? One of Australia's greatest commercials and a legend of the art world. TFTC thewhitedoggang.
Great piece of local history. We are hoping to see some of his artworks over the next day. Tftc
#19595 - 3:27:00 PM; Day four of a road trip taking the long way to Adelaide from the National Capital with the geohoney. Spent the night in Broken Hill, and after grabbing brunch, we set off to Silverton for some sightseeing, collecting a few caches in and around the town, before heading back. On return to Broken Hill, we did more sightseeing and caching as well. All were found in good order and returned as found once the log was signed, incliding this one. TFTC thewhitedoggang
We love being on the road and caching gets us out walking. A few up here in Broken Hill that weve missed on previous visits so well make up for it this trip. Team effort by the middle and not so small one whilst the big one and the geodoggie kept watch for muggles!Having read one of the previous logs we soon found the location and after a little thinking the log was in hand. We did need to do a little maintenance and replace the log book for the next finders, lucky we keep spares and a toolkit with us.TFTCTFTC
Don't look where the location is set. Aim for 3 grave rows in on your right. Can't miss it haha
A quick find here, cache is all goodHeaded over to the Capital GeoBash in Canberra, ACT with Freddo over 5 days, travelling through the central part of NSW before caching around the hinterlands. A nice few days over with great weather. Thanks for the cache
With a full day in Broken Hill we attempted to find all the caches that were new from my last visit in 2019. We found all bar one.
Naturally, the GPS wanted me to pull up on the side of the major road and wander over to GZ. Being unfamiliar with the area and it still being dark, I quickly brought up the aerial shot of GZ and identified a much better approach. Hoping access would be permitted before 6am, I was pleased to find it was indeed and soon found myself within a few short meters of the location. A quick scout around and I had the cache in hand, swiftly followed by my name in the log. I returned the container as found and made my way out, only to realise later in the day that there was another cache in here that I missed. Ah well, thatll have to wait some time now until I am in town again. Cheers whitedoggang.
A little cemetary detour to see ProHarts resting place. We visited at the same time as one of his family members who told us some stories including the anger still felt about the acid attack on the grave a couple of years ago, and how they still fear it could happen again. Cache quickly located and a little wander revealed some stunning graves. The granite cat silhouette one row over is amazing. Tftc
We do recall the ad where he paints with tomato sauce, spaghetti, wine, mustard, etc, on the carpet wonderful! The cache had lost its lid so we replaced the tin with another we had. Good as new again. Thank you for luring us to this location.
Made the 7+ hours drive to Broken Hill with my muggle Dad for a family funeral express visit. Haven't been up here for almost a decade so made sure to nab at least one cache in my very limited time. TFTC
Found by iamapom at 11:11 on 29/12/2023. Thanks to thewhitedoggang for the Traditional. This is Iamapoms find number 2769. Greetings from Melbourne Australia.

The three of us were spending a weekend in Broken Hill. Mr Tardis and Teen Tardis were off finding some caches while Mrs Tardis was in the tourist shops.
Mr Tardis found this one in the first place he looked - don't you just love it when that happens? Gotta love that old TV ad, definitely a cultural favourite.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache thewhitedoggang.

We have several of Pro Hart's Artworks at home - Prints of course - Not Originals and as we were staying at the Nearby Caravan Park, we wandered over to take a look. Wow it was bigger than we expected. Found the cache after a bit of a search.
Freddo and Team Waldron headed to warmer climes around Broken Hill, Cobar, Bourke, Cunnamulla
and Charleville.
After a cold start in Broken Hill the weather improved once we got further north. Sadly our last night in Broken was wet which, pardon the pun, put a dampener on things.
All up it was a great week away and lots of caches were found with only 3 dnfs.
Thanks to all who placed and maintained their caches. The occasional cache was damaged and we refurbished it and we also left new logbooks as required.

It took me a while and I even looked straight past it at something else.
What a beautiful stone and very fitting for this wonderful artist. I used to love the ad with the poor cleaning lady.
A favourite point from me.

On wY into town, stopped here. It wasn't published last time I was in BH.
Alas lid broke off, and log is full and soggy.
I'll stop by on way home and fix up.

Thanks
Addendum... came back and replaced the logbook, and a baggie. Didn't swap tins as didn't have a painted one...

No trouble fining the cache but the coords are little out. Just expand the search area. The nearby PH grave is stunning, decorated with one of his most famous artworks.
We had to come back for another try… our GPS was out… but we found it with the help of a lovely council worker
Unfortunately we couldn’t pin point this one but I loved the grave of Pro Hart…very fitting….
Second cache not far from accommodation, done with Trodectus. Arrived GZ and quickly had CIH. Log signed and returned. TFTC
Found with Coybear2000. We are visiting Broken Hill for a few days so we are doing some caching as well. We drove here, parked and walked to GZ. C quickly had CIH. Log signed and all replaced and we headed to the other cache here. TFTC.

Quick easy find. The head stone is absolutely stunning and befits a great artist. RIP Pro Hart. SL TFTC
