TasmaniaJoolay and I have travelled to Tasmania on a caching holiday. We are hoping to see as much as we can in four days and find a bunch of caches. Qualification: I have checked Project-GC and qualify for this challenge. I have completed my finds calendar. Thanks for hiding this cool Challenge membsec
Happy to find and claim this todayJoolay fulfills challenge The YCDIT Challenge Series #9-366 Hidden Date (GC7YJH2) according to https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC7YJH2/38085Tasmania trip 2024 with Kittykatch. Day 3 though we arrived late on day 1. Working to get all states and Territories in a year and counties. First visit to Tassie so excited to experience everything. Thanks for getting me out and about membsec
Today we headed out from Sorell to find a few caches. We couldnt go very far as our car insurance was a drive less pay less deal which runs out on Saturday and we only had 50kms left.we finished the day today with 6km for tomorrow. Great planning I think .We found a few challenge caches and went on a nice walk by the freeway. We found all the caches that we looked for which was a bonus. I think this was one of the first challenges I set myself not long after starting caching before challenge caches were all the rage. GPS was going crazy with the power lines above but I eventually spotted the hide. Tasmania Trip Day 10. For my last day in the Hobart area, I dizzied to have a go at some of the challenge caches in the area. Mostly the YCDIT caches, even though I will be relying on non Tasmanian caches in the most part for the qualification. I managed to get several other caches along the day and for once was not out until the end of the day. I Finished the day with some LABs in the botanic gardens and then went to a local pub in Battery point for a quiet afternoon and dinner. I off to Launceston tomorrow as the end of the trip draws closer.I went down to the end of the old coach road to look for two caches. The first one eluded me initially and I continued onto the second before heading back for another look. This time successfully.I will note this for now and verify my qualifications in the future. Thanks for the cache membsec**Albida**
On secondment to Melbourne, Australia, combined with short holidays here and there. Day 34/74, Saturday. My mini-holiday to Tasmania! Just four days but better than nothing. Today I woke up at my accommodation in Port Arthur and then I spent the day driving and walking here and there. For the night I drove to Hobart. I visited places I will remember forever - such as the Remarkable Cave in the Tasman National Park and Mount Wellington area. I also visited some caches that were important for me because of some challenge caches, etc. I had so much fun today! This was a quick find. The coordinates are good even though the place has changed. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Vaasa, Finland! I certainly am travelling to some hidden little places while out signing these challenges. The next couple of days Ill be staying, caching and exploring around Hobart.Todays plan is to head out and sign the logs of all the nearby challenges, then slowly work my way through achieving the requirements so I can, fingers crossed, put a on my map.TFTC membsecKeep smiling

As indicated by our friends from the North Island the original tree has fallen or been pushed over. Recovered the container and attached it to the rather poor specimen that abutted the original blossoming tree. Coords are still OK and new log put in place.
Goldy and Jimmy are holidaying in Tasmania for a few days. A quick trip away from our regular life to see sights and find caches.I'm aiming to continue my daily streak and fill some Jasmer grid spots. As well as find some challenge caches and as many virtuals as I can.It was the final day of stay in Tasmania. We were driving from Eaglehawk Neck to Hobart and finding some challenge caches and virtuals before and after our event. We really appreciated the effort by all CO's on our trip. Thanks for having us!I had narrowed my coordinates down to one spot where I was confident it would be. However, I found nothing. Eventually, I realised a fallen tree was present too. So, I reached my hand under and felt the cache in the first spot I felt. It's unfortunate that it's on the floor, hopefully the cache can be returned to its proper state soon. The actual cache container is in good condition. The log was signed as "Goldy and Jimmy". I've found the South Australian cache, which means i definitely qualify here too!pineapplegoldy](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=pineapplegoldy) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC7YJH2/38085 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.366 dates of 366 completed. Adelaide to Hobart Road Trip.
Day Six: New Norfolk to Hobart Airport and a flight home.
Weather: Chilly morning, sunny day.
The last two of the YCDIT Challenges that don’t require a TOTT. I swung past the south end of Old Coach Road on my way to the airport last time, and didn’t spot a suitable park. This time Ive parked near the “Tunnel Hill” trad and walked down.
I remember going to great lengths and driving considerable distances to get the last two days to complete this grid. Since then I’ve paid no attention to it all and have completed at least five loops I think.
Thanks for the challenge membsec.

It was time for a return trip to Tassie to explore the southern part of the state. I paired up with OzHockeyChick for a 5 day caching blitz with some sightseeing in between. Today was Day 1 and after a relatively uneventful flight in we were off and racing.
OzHockeyChick had DNF’d this cache previously so it was redemption time. The cache had been replaced since the last visit and was east to find today.

Today I set myself a challenge of finding 3 challenge caches in this challenging weather of rain and high winds all before going to pick up AnaSwamp and IDontHaveOne2001.
This cache didn’t take long to find at all. I really wanted to visit that large item but I’ll need to check out something else first.
Thanks for the cache!

Our time in Tasmania is rapidly coming to an end, and this is our second to last day of caching here. With many more solved puzzles and challenges we want to find, many of them short uphill walks, we know we have a full and active day ahead of us. Since our earliest days of caching we have enjoyed completing Challenge caches, and also like to set personal challenges to give some focus to our caching. So not surprisingly, this YCDIT Challenge series was a must-do for us.
This is not a challenge we ever targeted, but we do like doing First To Finds, so that has led to some finds on days (such as Christmas Day) where we might not otherwise have ventured out caching. We enjoyed the drive to this one, and the walk on from here. But the hunt for the cache here nearly ended in a DNF. We used the hint to search for the cache, but could not find anything. We narrowed down the hunt to a certain spot, but still nothing. And then one of us spied an empty metal ring hanging there. Without much hope of success the other, who was closer, searched the long grass around the base of the tree, and actually managed to find the bison. Signed the log and re-attached it firmly to its anchor ring. All good here, thanks.

Found and signed with dalerious .
Thank you membsec for providing this CC .
Cache found in good condition unless otherwise specified .
We had every single Challenge Cache that Tasmania had to offer on our list to sign. We also had every cache that would ensure we would qualify for that challenge, on the same list. Unfortunately, we had to forego some on this trip, but we sure were blessed with the amount we achieved.
We had this trip to Tasmania on our wish list very soon after we met. The meticulous planning began a few months ago when we finally set a date to sail to a place that I had been before, but never cached, and for dalerious, a place he cached, but never really got to see the real beauty of this place, and all it's glory. God's country about sums it up.
We started our adventure in the North West and traversed the entire Island in 10 days. We thought the weather was going to thwart our plans, but all it did was change the itinerary a tad.
Where back home was flooding, we had mostly sunshine here; apart from the North of your lovely state, and our thoughts were with those who were affected both here and at home.
Caches here took us to extraordinary places; one's we will never forget.
We also got to meet some cachers; we can't wait to meet the rest .
We humbly thank all the CO's that provided these Challenge Caches, and we can't wait to put a smiley on them in due course .

Thanks for the challenge cache Membsec.
Finally I can check this one off. I signed the log for this one about 12 months ago, but for the last 16months, a cache placed on the 19th April has been my one last find to qualify for this challenge.
On the weekend just past, RLD4963 and I made sure we had this date covered, by finding one published in 2005, and then another in 2022. It was a bit of a diversion, and RLD4963 did a lot of driving, but it all added to the weekend away.
Thanks for this series of challenge caches. Of course, now there are more to do.....

In Tassie for a few days with beckNmonts and Earthbound Chief. Have been having a ball and continued along our merry way with some fun cache finds.
Day 3 was about challenge caches and picking up some of our solved puzzles.
Today was a bit of a tougher day with some difficult climbs up some mean hills. Found lots of great caches with full size log books and even managed to see a rainbow over the harbour.

We have realised that we have nowhere near enough time to find all the puzzles we have solved for this trip. So what will we do? Focus on mainly challenge caches that required no solving! What did ahomburg, Earthbound Chief, The Morris, myself and nominally Mazda StarBounceSky, the Standard Poodle, spend all those hours solving for? I suspect it’s because we are strange and enjoy it (seriously, thank you for placing them CO’s).
Earthbound Chief, ahomburg, Mazda and myself started the day at our now “regular” breakfast spot, to caffeinate for the day, then headed off again with our gratefully borrowed fishing pole and ladder! (Please hit us up in Vic, I’m happy to return the favour)
Thanks for the caches and puzzles we have had fun solving, membsec

Today we found The YCDIT Challenge Series #9-366 Hidden Date on our travels. We are on a lightening fast visit from Melbourne just because…well, maybe it’s all those puzzles we solved during those many lockdowns! Having the opportunity to sign some actual logs is exciting!

Hi membsec, greetings from Toowoomba!
Adding this placeholder log, whilst waiting for Project-gc to catch up with my latest find.
For quite some while I still need a find a hidden date of 18 July, and today in Toowoomba I found GC8WYV3 and have attached a pic of the view.
There a several connections and coincidences between me, both caches, and indeed both COs and so I would like to keep the two logs consecutive.
A fav point.
Hopefully you will indulge my "Found It" log until technology aligns the data.
Cheers to EPs.

Hello membsec thank you for the cache
This one took some time to find so I was lucky EeePees was there to spot it as I was looking for it some distance away.
Not sure when I qualified but I do.
Thank you for the challenge.
Just before I grabbed your cache a muggle walking by recognized what we were up to saying she had found it before by accident.
A day caching with EeePees trying to find some more pole and ladder caches.
Of course whatever else comes up on the way.

We were nearby after completing a rather long distance multi and decided to head to this cache. Mrs H had her geolenses in today and spotted the cache quite some distance away!

After flying in from Townsville yesterday, I claimed today to collect some challenges and old caches.
This series was the main target of the day. Funny that yesterday I was signing below Mackay local OzGeoker and today behind Townsville’s godfather Karicka.
No problems collecting this one after completing all 3 of the finds calendars.
Thanks membsec for creating and placing this for us to enjoy.

Having to extend our stay due to the lockdown we made a trip to this area today.
These challenges were on my radar since we began planning this long weekend, now we Findlay got here.
Know that I meet the requirements, have not considered how many loops I have completed but maybe I should.
Good find at GZ

Signed this cache back in April on a trip to Tassie to visit family. I had about 17 or so dates to fill so have set about finding the specific caches in order to qualify for this cache.
A caching trip on the weekend allowed me to get the remaining 3 dates needed and this calendar is now filled! Tftc membsec, I enjoyed this challenge, adding a FP.

Hi membsec, thanks for the cache and the YCDIT challenge series.
I'm still four kangaroos short in the top paddock, although I reckon you've thought that all along!
KingSmev and I picked up Davinells after their 1 week campervan lap around the Map of Tassie, and a few YCDIT caches were on their bucket list.
So we popped by here to sign the log, although GPSrs were all over the place, so it took awhile to locate, hopefully the locals didn't get too suspicious.
Hope to qualify soon!

When i was looking over the Geocaching map i saw this one reasonably close to home in Rokeby.
I opened it and thought "There's no way i'll qualify for this one, but out of curiosity i ran the checker anyway and was very surprised "Sweet!" i will go look for this one really soon
That was 3 days ago
Fast 4WD to today (Monday 22 February 2021) i made this one 1st cab off the rank whilst on my way out towards The Airport and 7 Mile Beach area to find several hides for the day [^]
A bit of a look around for the wee hide hanging, then removing spear-grass nasties outta my socks for over 5 minutes [:o] [B)] i was SL of this hide at 11:27

Found but can at this stage only log as a note, I reckon I would almost have every day filled in, except my ability to one log all my found caches and second log them on the correct found date. Still will add this one to my bookmark list of found and yet-to-be-logged caches.

Tarbit needed to be in Tassie for work so we made the trip over from VIC and spent the best part of two weeks here on the east side of the Derwent. I had looked over this challenge cache series and having qualified for most of them I planned an early morning trip to collect a few. After a find nearby this was back towards where I had parked the car. Took me a while to locate this one after looking in a few different spots before finally hitting the right one. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the challenge cache membsec.

This challenge cache was one of my hottest targets during our holiday to Hobart because it was a personal goal of mine.
Just over 6 months ago I was trolling Project-GC and found that I was missing 3 days for this particular statistic so set about rectifying it. The last and only cache we needed was 2 hours from home and I felt like we had achieved something but nothing to sign for it when it was completed. Surely there was a challenge cache with our name on it.
We found one in Margaret River WA and I was so excited to sign it but then everything turned to sh8t when we had a DNF on it. The CO replaced the cache the day we got back to Queensland.
When our Hobart holiday got closer I was checking this cache every day. I had qualified a long time ago but desperately needed to have my name in a log for it. Thankfully we found the cache and after signing the log I feel a kilogram lighter but it could have just been gas. tftc

This one looks like little muggles have been in the area so have moved it away and not so "seeable". Very close by, have updated coords and the hint.
Coordinates changed from:

Coordinates changed to:
S 42° 51.696 E 147° 25.368
Distance from original: 23.1 feet or 7.0 meters.
Little muggles must like the bark from the previous location. Hint have been changed to assist in the find too.

After beginning with a CITO event at Bellerive Beach, which was a nice opportunity to meet dome local cachers, I spent the remainder of the day travelling around the eastern shore and down the Tasman Peninsula picking up a few caches I had targeted.
I’ve been lucky with the weather, with another fine and warm day. And I’ve enjoyed some great caches, including some pre-solved puzzles, challenges, multicaches, a letterbox, a virtual and some traditionals.
This was one of a number of challenge caches that I identified as targets for this trip. Whilst I know I meet the requirements for most of them, there are a couple that I probably don’t yet qualify for.
This is one of the challenges I qualify for, as confirmed by the challenge checker at Project-GC.
Thanks membsec for the challenge and the cache.

Finally, after purchasing a ticket in November last year when the fairly cheap fare to Tassie was even further reduced the time had come to travel down and cache in a brand new state! After scaling the heights of the nearby mountain it was back to reality at ground level. I'd never been down this road (and track) before so found it interesting. The long concrete 'slide' coming down the side of the mountain looked like an exciting thrill ride but we'll leave that for another day.
The coast was clear as far as we could tell so we made a quick dash for the cache. What a cool hidey-hole! Thanks for another challenge cache membsec.
Now off we're down the track.

And so begins the a "milestone" Birthday Celebration of one half of Membsec [^]
Whilst down from Brisbane for this "secret" celebration we decided, (well I should say IolantheK decided) to gather Mebsec's Tassie Geo-art and their Challenge series
Cache itself was an easy enough find and was dry and in good condition [^]
T-Tech does not fulfil challenge The YCDIT Challenge Series #9-366 Hidden Date (GC7YJH2), according to https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC7YJH2/38085
(only missing December 22)
So even though I didn't qualify my name is now in the log [^]
TFTC Membsec we look forward to many more "milestones" to come (although I don't think you'll reach 1000)

T-Tech and I flew from Brisbane to Hobart to be part of the milestone birthday of Lady membsec last night [^] It was a great celebration! Today we are attempting to collect all of their Map of Tasmania and YCDIT Challenge caches!
A tad tricky to be stealthy here in full view of the house, but I think the rain kept them inside. A quick find by T-Tech. TFTC, membsec.

Traveling along on my solo mission this afternoon and I soon found myself driving down this dirt road. Shhh don't tell the hire car people
At GZ my navigational device was having a bit of a hissy fit and so I wasn't too sure where I should be. Using my geosenses though I soon honed into a likely location and soon had the well hidden beasty in hand.
Being FTF on a similar challenge cache up in QLD I knew I definitely qualified for this one.
Thanks for the challenge cache membsec

Hi membsec
My last available cache in this series at the moment; but will be working on the others where and when possible
This was a very quick find on return from #8 in the series
Sainted at 1745 hours without raising the interest of the adjacent residents
Am enjoying the series thus far; especially here; never been on the track before so another thank you to you and caching for the new area
TFTC and cheers

We headed out this morning to find the rest of the new challenge caches that we qualified for and we were rewarded with a *FTF* @ 9.28 am as log book was blank. We parked near the cache but as there were muggles around we headed to #8 first. A quick find on our return from #8. Nice to see challenge caches appearing en masse in Tasmania. TFTC

Quick find, think I attacked this one from the wrong starting point. Got there in the end. co-ords good. With challenge caches being new to us we mistakenly logged a find before realising there was an physical cache. TFTC Membsec
