That's really cool. Thanks for bringing us here. Cheers

Wow, wow, wow! What fabulous art. I had not intended to search for caches other than a specific one that I had targeted for my current challenge. However, at some stage, I obviously had a look to see what else was around, and this was one of the caches that popped up. I have never been on this road before and love the area. After checking out the art, I had a quick look for the cache and signed the log. TFTC The Farmers 5 and for bringing me to discover the area. Unfortunately the lid is disintegrating and needs replacing.

I have been here before before, many years ago, I started caching. The sculpture is getting more character as it gets more lichen. TFTC

Found while doing another section of the Vampire Series. For years I have put off doing the vampire series as it look "too hard" on the map. Well I'm glad I started to do sections of them as they are far easier - terrain wise - than I originally thought. Today I knocked off the 5 caches I had left down this area. I parked at the Gigerline Reserve entrance and walked down a now familiar track. After finishing this section I went for a drive for a few more Trads. This was a nice quick drive by find. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then continued on to the next one. Thanks The Farmers 5 !!

Weve been farm sitting in the neighbourhood so thought after 3 weeks on our final night we would do a cheeky cache on our way back into town! Loved this cache!!! Thanks for the cache

#16279 - 12:25:00 PM; Out on a caching run through and past Tharwa with Sol de lune to top up the daily finds calender. Most of our finds were in the Vampire series, but grabbed a few others in the area as we were passing. A couple of damp logs here and there, but most caches were in good condition when we added our names to the log. Decided to include this one as we were close. Some interesting artwork a little further on from GZ too! TFTC The Farmers 5 Smile

Out this way with LuckyL10n and this way our next stopped. Wasn't sure where the road went however we headed a little further to grab this one. Once at GZ the cache was a quick find.

Thanks for this one Farmers 5....

Loved this sculpture which is perfectly placed on the side of the hill. We had so much fun admiring the views and the sculpture that we forgot to sign the log.

We were on to the next cache down the road when it was realised that we had forgotten to search for the cache so on the way back we stopped off AGAIN. TFTC The Farmers 5.

Caching along Smiths Rd today I popped in to look at this artwork (and the ones a little down the road) on the way back. Really, really cool! Thanks Farmers 5 for highlighting this - an obvious favourite from me.

Good to give this cache some love after over a year unfound. The last log entry in the cache is from 8 January 2021; I couldn't locate the apparent previous finder's signature in the log.

Exploring southern Canberra today and decided to take the scenic drive down to this cache. Some very impressive properties out here and it seems like a peaceful place. An incredible piece of artwork overlooking the valley below - it must have been a huge tree to carve out something that size in one piece. Thanks for taking me here Farmers 5. A picturesque place to go for a drive with some of my friends in the future.

Saw this one sitting out in the middle of nowhere and decided to make the trip and find. A very nice looking sculture though I like the ones further down the road near the entry to the property. I often wonder how people find these fascinating things in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, TFTC Farmers 5 and a fav point.

Out for a morning's caching with JBACT. Honeysuckle was our first point to start at then on to Smiths Road. Beautiful sculpture visited before looking for the cache. TFTC.

An early start to the day, meeting dty73 just on 6.30am at a mutually convenient location. With Dty73 jumping into the passenger seat we headed off South, ‘Vampires’ and a number of nearby hides the goal for the morning. Parking as close to our first target as possible it was a steady hike along the banks of the Murrumbidgee. Picking up the Vampires without issue, before we knew it it was time to retrace our steps, the remains of an old flying fox not suitable for crossing the river. Not that we would cross if we could, it was always back to the geomobile for the drive onwards. For the most part everything looked the same, the occasional tree, gully or bush tricking us into a wrong left or right turn. Nothing of consequence, just a pain, literally, pushing through something we’d previously gone around. Once in the geomobile it over the river/bridge, the water steadily flowing, but nothing to be concerned about. Picked up ‘Sunshine makes me CHIRPy’ and continued up and along the well maintained track until hitting Smiths Road. Turning South, a small detour to ‘The Hawk’, an interesting place to spend a few minutes, ‘Gossoon Gully’, a little muddy but nothing that couldn’t be wiped off BEFORE getting back into the car, and then right at the very end of the road ‘Murrumbidgee Meander VI’. Some nice views looking back down and along the river, noted a few good swimming spots, just a little too far away (down and back up). Threw a few stones across the river, and for those who are interested, reached the other side. Back again to the geomobile, heading North back along Smiths Road, alighting at the old chimney stack where it was up and around the nearby hill(s) to complete another group of Vampires. A nice breeze at times, always welcomed on a warming and sunny (inbetween the clouds and that dust) day.

Time was too quickly upon us though, family commitments and the cricket on the TV. Called it a fun and successful day and drove back to town, dropping off dty73 were it started some 7 hours before. Just as we were saying our goodbyes, alert, alert alert, new geocaches published out and around Coombs. Well…….

Thanks to all the cache owners and of course to the wonderful dty73. Always a pleasure.

Tankengine and I thought we would go for a drive today after such a huge walk yesterday.

We had seen the photos and read a couple of logs and thought that this one might be interesting enough to go and have a look at. It was a bit of a drive, but there was enough around to keep us entertained along the way. I got to pick up an extra cache, we passed a couple of farmers and their poor starving cows, the road surface changed a few times, but my little car was all good with that.

We arrived at GZ which was very obvious from the road, and the cache was quickly found and signed before we had a closer look at the sculpture. It was very well done and wow does it have a great view! I was very jealous of the farmers out here. Tftc The Farmers 5!!!

Found on a rather warm Spring day with dty73. Nice carving of a hawk here (pic attached) - I'm assuming done with a chainsaw. In a nice location too, overlooking the valley. The farmers were busy on the roads around here, with their cows on the nature strip, due to lack of feed in the paddocks. So it was a slow drive for a bit! Thanks for the cache The Farmers 5.

Yesterday I competed in the ACT Spring 6hr rogaine (11am to 5pm) based near the Mt Clear campground. I spent the night there, then did a detour to find this cache on my return home. A quck find at an interesting spot. TFTC.

*FTF* with DSD @12:22pm Big Grin

**This Cache:**

Thanks to DSD's extreme passion for geocaching and FTF's we were able to make this one a reality today, and boy oh boy we did not regret it!!

Quite comical that it was published the **exact** minute that a caching event was beginning in Canberra..... So all the geocachers were gathered in one place! We stayed at the event for 45 minutes before DSD decided we would be the first ones to make a move and come find this cache!

After a long drive down south, and then speeding along the dirt roads at 90km/h we soon made it to GZ. And what we found was truly spectacular and not expected!

Found the cache quickly, and then admired the piece of artwork. The gate was wide open, so we stood next to it and both took a pic with it before heading on our way.

Great location Farmers 5, and now I fully understand why you decided to hide a cache all the way out here! Well worth a visit people! Favourite point allocated for bringing me here Smile

*see brief outline of entire day below*

**The Day**

Two events on the same day on a weekday! I'm sure I can count the number of events I have attended on weekdays on one hand, so to have two of them on the same day was a treat! Made plans with DSD who also had a day off work, and decided to make an entire day out of it, caching for three hours before the first event, and then a further 6 and a half hours between the two!

Was an extremely productive day, picking up **5 FTF's**, **7 Puzzles** , **3 Multi's**, **2 Events**, **Unloved Years**, **A Dozen Pathtags between us** and Traditionals inbetween!

Thanks to all the CO's and everyone who we met up with today!
