Sad couldnt find. Bit over grown

The cache is quite small. TFTC

Quick find thanks

Made a choice today - wanted to get in some walking exercise, find caches, and not have to walk up hills. This series was the closest compromise.

Saw the cache but had to backtrack after passing another walking muggle - everyone was out today apparently! Tftc!

01-Jan-22
A free caching half day for the Crystal half whilst the rest of the family stayed at home and played in the pool. Picked an area that had lots of caches we've not been to before. Last one in the series... Yayyy... Can finally put this series to rest now ... TFTC

I've never been a fan of caching alongside busy four lane highways, but this series has my closest unfound traditionals to home, and I need a few numbers today. I walked the half kilometre from my park at the bottom of the gorge - quite hot in the late afternoon sun. This was a nice quick find. TFTC.

18-Dec-21
3rd of 5 this evening, almost missed this one, but looked again and it became clear.

27-Nov-21
#1759. Yes, I know this series is meant for cycling, but on a traffic-light Saturday afternoon, it was no problem to use the grass verge for parking 177 metres south of GZ. There is even a lowered kerbing to drive over. Easy walk to the hinted mark and retrieval of the pill bottle . Tftc Yeetrees.

29-Sep-21
The CO told me he was moving to Hawke Bay, so I better get on to these before they get archived. Here was me thinking I had plenty of time - the new cycleway is not slated to start till 2022. So I came out this way after work. I need two caches for today's objective - to get my caches up to 10 per date and to further my streak. All the other challenges I am working on are sorted for today. Nice tail wind to the cache, so it's probably going to be a bugger of a head wind home again Sad.

I only found one cache, and that was after a quite a hunt too. The other two caches here have been cleaned up? hidden in a hard place? (The one I found was very easy). All nice and dry inside.

That's two caches today, time to head home. The trip back was not to bad, only 10km/h slower than the trip here. I'll be back soon for some more...

07-Aug-21
Found a replacement cache dated 24/5/20. Didnt find the other one referred to in a few logs. Did spend a bit longer searching but you really are quite exposed on this walk so one log signed Smile TFTC.

01-Aug-21
Another cache that I couldn't find but this time I was more determined. Used the hint and a stick to really get into this one. Signed both logs and returned them all to the spot. Tftc

01-Aug-21
Second time looking for this one. Almost had us defeated but managed to dig out eventually. Found two caches together and signed both. Oddly, neither seemed to have been signed since 2019. Is there a third cache here, perhaps? TFTC.

28-Feb-21
I was really keen to get out and grab a few caches this afternoon. As we are back in COVID level 2, I went out armed with hand sanitiser and gloves. I parked at the Petone end and decided to walk along here. I pretty much had the trail to myself this afternoon which meant that I could search uninterrupted which was nice. I had absolutely no idea as to what the hint meant until I arrived at GZ... a nice quick find here. So the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in its spot all ready for the next geo-hunter. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC!

This one was quite exposed so I fixed that just a little.

Staying in Petone but visiting friends in Wellington. Today decided to cycle into Wellington collecting as many caches as possible. Surprised that you actually had to start on the main highway but then got on the seperate cycle path. Interested by how many cyclists choose to remain on SH1. Once I got a feel for the hides they were generally quick. Did have 3 DNF along the way. Thanks yeetrees for the series and getting me out here.

31-Aug-20
Quick find. Tftc!

25-Jul-20
We hired bikes and after we headed out along the coast we had time before returning the bikes to do this trail. Most of the caches were quick easy finds. TFTC

13-Jun-20
After also reading this had been replaced I was pleased to make a quick find in the most likely of places, TFTC

24-May-20
A plan was made to aim for 50 caches in a day with ThatWeirdGuy04 & TwigNZ we didn't fully hit the amount but we did get over half of what we were trying for before the rain set in and the light faded.
thank you to all the COs for placing the caches

24-May-20
After losing the best part of 2 months worth of caching adventure time due to Covid-19, I have been keen to get out and about for a good solid day's hunting. So I was spending the day caching in Wellington with Mar1sa and ThatWeirdGuy04 , primarily to do the Recycle Trail along SH2 and as many others as we could fit in.

Today we would be walking the route, but to try to minimise the total amount of walking I had thought it might be possible to do numbers 20 through to 27 as park and grabs before heading off to Petone to walk our way back to Ngauranga railway station. A good idea I thought. Shame about the lack of parking on the old Hutt road! But somehow we managed to follow that plan and achieve what we wanted, whilst also treating the trip as a form of maintenance run for the CO, as discussed with him.

All log entries today read as either "Team TMT" or simply "TMT" depending on space.

This cache was initially a DNF for us. We had a very thorough search of GZ in line with the Hint but after 15 minutes of the 3 of us looking we had resigned ourselves to seeking advice from the CO, after which we came back later in the day and replaced the missing cache.

The new placement is completely in keeping with the existing Hint.

Thanks for putting this series together. I have never walked or cycled this route before, so these caches gave me the perfect excuse to finally do it.

24-May-20
No luck with this one either Sad will come back later hopefully

(Sorry for the copy/paste log, logging in real time 24/05/2020)

Found today with TwigNZ and Mar1sa, signed log as TMT for Twig, Marisa and ThatWeirdGuy. TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache

Despite the hint we were unable to find the cache. TFTC

I have a 3 month sabbatical mostly traveling around the planet. My goal is to find and log 1000 caches. New Zealand is my 4th station traveling from south Christchurch to north Auckland, my first visit here, its far away. This is my sabbatical-cache #714.

04-Feb-20
Day five of my road trip from Auckland to Nelson in my newly acquired convertible cachemobile. Finding a few caches along the way. After leaving my motel in Petone and making my way through the Wellington commuter traffic, I parked next to the Ngauranga station and tried to find as many of the Recycle series caches as I could. I had a few hour before I had to catch my ferry to Picton. It would have been nice to have my bike here but I had to make do with Shanks Pony. Apologies for the cut and paste logs. I'll mention anything that stood out for me. Found as per the hint. TFTC, Biggles.

20-Jan-20
It was time to finish off the Recycle Series that I started yesterday. I parked in the same place as yesterday but it is disppointing that #16 and #17 had to be archived.

I spotted the hint item quickly.

Cheers for the cache.

#5156/5
TFTC.

15-Nov-19
Another quick find, easy to spot where it was on approach and it was just a matter of timing with traffic. TFTC Yeetrees.

A rare trip to Wellington this weekend for me, so I decided to take the Friday off work and get across the moat early from Blenheim to do some exploring.
The main reason for the trip was a national pub quiz competition in Upper Hutt on Saturday night.
Our team had been invited to it, but didn’t take the offer that seriously initially.
But then things started to fall into place.
With free car use and free accomodation in Mt Vic. sorted out, and other plans woven into the fabric it was not long until all 6 of the team regulars saw this as a distinct possibility and a GOOD THING.
So we signed up, planes and ferries got booked and we started looking forward to some fun. It’s not often a road trip chance presents itself, after all.
But first, the caches. For me today the plan was a few (hopefully) simple stroll and grabs followed by a sweep across town toward a Mt Vic. afternoon rendezvous with the next lot of the team to arrive by ferry.
So by plane, bus and train I was at Ngauranga by 7.30am to start the walk. Good fun, a few DNFs throughout the day, but I expected that as these are urban hides, and some high quality finds too. And Wellington turned on a cracker of a day.
Thanks all COs and sorry for this cut and paste bit, any relevant issues about the particular cache are in the first sentences.

13-Nov-19
Heading back to do some tasks and decided to park waaaay back along the road and stroll down and find a few.

Today is transition day for me in the city. I have one large-ish group of people to get from Upper Hutt onto the 0800 ferry and then collect a hire-van. Then I have some minor tasks to coordinate through the day before collecting another smaller group of people from the ferry and take them to their digs. The weather was calm and warm enough and I found a few caches, including 4 of the Welly-based TMGT series. I also managed to get my first Adventure Lab caches after having been awarded one if my own (and getting them listed). A good day for caching.
Down the last few years I've had to come over this way for work a few times and have had a combination of personal vehicle, borrowed car from a friend, and good-old on foot as modes of travel.

10-Nov-19
Took a bit, TFTC!

15-Sep-19
Having read that there was likely to be two caches here, I expected this to be my easiest find of the day; especially since the hint object was very obvious. A few minutes searching revealed nothing so I moved along. After finding all the others on today's agenda, I decided to have another look on my return journey. This time, I did find a treasure that was better hidden than any of the others. So, even though this is not my preferred style of caching, I did quite enjoy the walk and the differing challenges on offer. The owner has made a good job of positioning the caches.

18-Aug-19
Needed a cache today to deal to a dot day. Decided to drive down to the bottom of the gorge with the geohound to find one or two of this series later this afternoon. Landed up locating four of them. Took a few minutes to spot this one, or should I say the two of them. Not quite sure why there’s a double up! Anyway signed both before moving on. Others have commented on the chewed containers, so I won’t! #2671. TFTC.

18-Aug-19
Out grabbing a few caches and completing the recycle series. Thanks for the cache.

10-Aug-19
Another cache to try finish the mystery challenge. I found two cache containers here have sent a pic to CO, somethings definitely having a nibble

06-Aug-19
#7304. Got home from work and was looking at my August cache finds. They are a bit light on these days of the month as I am normally away in the field in August. So decided to boost the numbers. I have deliberately saved the Recycle series for a dark winter night. Tonight was that night although the moonlight was useful. Parked near Placemakers and made my way north in my Fluoro vest. Scolded a guy at the Caltex who looked like he was up to mischief behind the container. Good to be in charge in my official vest. Carried on along the path to GZ and another nice quick find here. This one proves Ngaio is not predator-free. A heap of gnawing on both plastic containers and lids missing. Log has been gnawed as well. Signed the log (the non-chewed part) and replaced the cache as found. Code collected. Thanks for the cache Mr Yeetrees.

Easy find for the Museum challenge. Tftc.

28-Jul-19
As I haven't got many caches to find around Palmerston North, I have to travel out of town to
complete the Mystery at the Museum challenge. An early morning start with the bike on board to find ten more gems and some more for the 35 cache souvenir on the cycleway between Petone and Wellington Thanks Yeetrees for this series of caches.

25-Jul-19
Something's definitely been chewing this! The lids of both containers have gone apart from the rims, and the edges of both container bottoms are going the same way. The log has received some unwanted attention too. I think there might be some of it missing now as I couldn't find signatures from recent finders that I found at caches on either side. Needs maintenance - and possibly a new home!

25-Jul-19
This geocacher reported that the container is damaged.

18-Jul-19
Out for a stroll this afternoon in an attempt to stretch the legs and get some exercise. Was tucked away so took a few minutes to spot. Outer cache container has been nibbled on by some critter, but inside is all good. Log signed and returned as found.
Thanks for the series and cache.

12-Jul-19
Hint made sense once at GZ Cheers Yeetrees.

12-Jul-19
Walked from Petone into Wellington collecting these along the way. All nice well hidden caches that were ok to find. Thanks for the series.

06-Jun-19
Have always wanted to do this trail. So today when I came over by ferry I had the bike in the car. Enjoyed the ride and today the sea was calm. This is the start of my North Island trip hopefully to the top

Found the cache while walking the southern section of the series from Ngauranga. All in order replaced as found.

This one looked like the outer container has been nibbled by a creature.

08-May-19
Went for a walk with one of the Yeomanclan to grab half of this series. Didn’t take too long to find. TFTC

05-May-19
Think we found the other cache, not the one the last finder reported as being damaged. The last log was 1/3/19 and it was a single container, a little chewed (by ? We wondered.). TFTC

27-Mar-19
I parked my car through the tunnel, around by Ngauranga Station and walked down to have a look for this cache. It didn't take too long to get to GZ and I soon found the hint item. Then it was just a matter of time before I located the cache.

When I found the cache it was in pieces and the log was lying loose. The lids of both containers were broken and had been thrown on the ground nearby. I located as many pieces as I could and put it (kind of) back together after I had signed the log. I put the reassembled bits and pieces back where I found the containers.

Apart from the lids, the rest of the cache is in reasonably good condition. At least everything was nice and dry.

Thank you

We were in the port of Wellington New Zealand for the day on Holland America's Amsterdam. Our main goal was to go North of the city and to get to the almost 5-mile bike path along the water and to walk it and to try to find all of the 28 "Recycle" caches on the trail. Mission Accomplished!

What a great set of caches!!! Thank you Yeetrees!

The caches were all clean, easy-to-find, well-protected from the weather by multiple insert containers for each, and the logs were in fantastic condition! We replaced one missing container (for Recycle Seventeen) and were also able to find the Archived Recycle Sixteen. We have given Recycle One and Recycle Twenty Eight FAV points, being representative of the entire series.

The CO was very clear that one should start at the mid-point of the series and do either the Northern or the Southern section first and then return to the mid-point and do the other section. So that is what we did. We were not sure how to get to the starting point, so we took a taxi from the main Train Station. It dropped us off at the #83 bus stop, between Recylcle Nineteen and Recycle Twenty. We did the southern section first from #19 through #28.

After completing the Southern section, we returned to our starting point and decided to do the odds ones on the way North and the even ones on the return to the South, so we could geocache in both directions.

When we finished the series, we jumped on the #83 bus, returned to the City and did 5 more caches there, before returning to our ship.

Great Day! Great City! Thank you

There is two caches placed there by me as when I went back to check I couldn't find the first one .

Bonus is there is a spare cache there so if one gets muggled the other will still be there no maintenance required

05-Jan-19
A nice walk (after a not so nice one nearby) led to an entertaining find. Easy to see why no one found the two caches - why keep looking after finding one in the first place? It was an odd combination of events that led Astro Hunter and I to discover two distinct caches by the same CO, with the same codes, here within centimetres of each other. The Wandering Dragons tried to make sense of it all, but we had a good, and memorable, experience. Thank you!

Cache # 1,486

Cache # 4,672 - came out this afternoon with Violet Butterfly and Astro Hunter. We were going to do one of the ones along the harbour, but had to give up after 200 metres going north because the winds were too strong. However knowing that there were still several more down here, we came to grab one of those instead.

Easily making our way to the GZ, VB had first crack and yelled out "found it!", but then pulled back so AH could also have a crack. They also yelled out "found it!", but looking in a completely different spot. Next thing we know, we had two caches in hand, both with the #23 and the code on it, but both with different sets of cachers' logs. That's why two different people claimed FTF - they found different caches within a metre of each other! Just to be on the safe side, we signed both logs and put them back in their respective places. Not sure that was what the CO intended, so they might want to check it out. Smile Certainly makes for a memorable cache, so will award this a favourite point on behalf of the series.

TNLNSL. Thanks for the caches!

A quick and easy find. Last of the series for now. Next time I will have my bike! Cheers

We are on our way back south now. A quick trip, so not much time for caching. Though we did have some time while waiting for the ferry, so we filled in the time quite nicely thank you.

Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

Another day where I had left it to the evening to go and get my cache of the day. I was going to attempt to get on my bike, but because we finally got the BBQ out I had already had dinner, so a gentle stroll was going to be the order. Parked up once again just after the bus stop at Ngauranga and wandered down. Got to GZ and pulled the cache out from the second spot I looked in. Signed the log, replaced, and wandered back. That's the last Recycle cache on this side of the motorway (unless the CO continues the series Smile. TFTC

Decided to do the recycle geocache trail this afternoon on one of my days off for the summer break. Busier than I expected, and had to dodge quite a few cyclists while signing logs.
Beautiful weather for a geocaching walk today. I parked at the northern end of the trail, and it took me a few hours of a leisurely walk to grab the caches and return to my car.
28 out of 28 finds today! Apologies for the cut n paste logs.

It became a quick realisation that a push bike was going to be needed to do this series, as I made a scan of my unfound caches on the map a couple of weeks ago. And so it was, dragged out the pedal pusher today and off to make a start. This was the 5th find of the 10 I did today, no issues here and it was a quick easy find.

Many TFTC and the series.

Well its Mega time again and its held in Wellington so there has been lots of planning envolved with puzzles been solved and trails to do this trail along the habour betrween Wellington and Petone was planned to be done after the festivities of the Mega but there was to be a slight hick up at the start of Friday morning before we set off for Wellington and that was a truck accident with a chemical spill blocking the road restricting movement along state highway one in the road not likely to be open until 8pm that night. so after watching the NZTA website up until 3pm a plan was hatched to divert to Wellington over the Piatua track and down the Wairapa to our desination right at ground zero so there we stayed for three nights, after entering into the Waves to Waitrapa and trying to get 10 lab caches and 11 differnt cache types in a day on the saturday. On Sunday Mr Rattle and I rode up to the summit on the Rumatuka incline and prize giving on Sunday evening and after saying good buy to our new found friends we hunted out the CO for this trail to see which the best end was to start was and he was very kind to point us in the right direction but before we could retire to our portable abode he asked us if we wouldn't mind replacing a cache at one of the placements along the trail as we agreed.
The next morning turned out to be another beauty so after breakfast we loaded the bikes onto the car and off to the start soon we were heading to the start of the trail when a couple of cyclist came along and said we were going the wrong way and tried to divert us onto the otherside of the motorway (not many caches that side) so after they let we doubled back and we soon found what we were looking for some of the caches we started to find had been released that morning we were not too fazed by that as we had come to do that trail today and get what we could and return another to get any others that would come out. We knew we were going to have at least one ftf as we had the replacement for number 3. and the CO was going to be a nice guy and give everyone that found this one a ftf for that day.
The only geocachers we saw while doing this trail was Huhugrub and as we had been told there is no where to hide on this trail especially toilet stops as you are in full view of the motorist wizzing by unaware to what we were actually doing.
Well a great day and a cool little trail we reached the end or the start and back tracked the way we came and as we were getting back to where we had started there had been more caches go live so we had a go for some and missed some and eventually got one but i think that is another story thanks for maintaining and (replacing this trail) as some more smilies we will be back to get the rest. Lucky last for the day and yay a clean log so its a (FTF) for us finally we get one from the log trail of the new ones that have just come out. Look forward to doing the rest on our next visit. TFTC and trail and the great weater couldn't of been any better.

The above is all true!!!!!!!! OR is it?????????
