After having worked late last night, and working all morning, I figured I deserved a proper break and headed for Shakespear park. Its a beautiful area wed visited with the kids before we found out about the best outdoor hobby in the world. And so close to Auckland! It really had not occurred to me that hiking pants and woolies were by now a bit overdone in the warm 20 degrees today. So after a little hike along the beach and around the paddocks, and finding around ten caches, I felt like an overdone steak ice cream next! Cleverly hidden cache
Nice quick find. Thanks for taking us on this loop!I like the idea to have a tube in the container to get the log out! All dry inside but log is pretty full. We were able to squeeze on, but unfortunately we ran out of top up paper. TFTC!
Well I did it again and missed a cache. Might need to go to spec savers. The screen glare caused the green spot at Pink beach to blend in with my phones image of a camera. It was obviously a photographically special place according to the map. Oh well. I'm happy to come back. This cache took us a bit off the beaten track here but we managed not to disturb the lambs and their mums. The weather was improving and we had plenty of time before school pick up with the Grandkids. A quick and easy find at the meeting of the fences. Thanks for your caches out here
Most of our group had walked ahead, so we only had a minute to put our hands on the hide. The hint was specific enough for us to grab it first look though!Beautiful views from the top of the hill across to Tiri. Thank you for hiding this!
#908 Mr 40 ran ahead to find this one while Mr over-40 plodded behind, complaining about his back.
Miss 9 ran ahead to find this one I read the hint out to her. Good easy find on a post dinner pre bed walk. Found with beansproutnz. Tftc
Out for an evening walk now it's cooler and picked this one up in one field of sheep and one of cows. TFTC
Another nice and easy find amongst the friendly cattle. A lovely day for caching. Thanks for the cache!
Quick 5th find of the day.
The cach is safe and dry.
Thanks for placing this cach G2

We had a great day walking and caching around the Shakespear Regional park today. Many thanks to the COs who have set up caches here - it’s such fun! TFTC
M24: there was a random item parked right by GZ, as I approached it, turns out no one was in there or around it, making this cache find way easier. Nice and easy find, log all good and signed. TFTC.
1947. 10:22 am. Yet another quick find heading around Shakespear Park. TFT(Rakino)C.
Having woken, breakfasted, and packed my tent I set off for the peninsula and a walk around the Shakespeare Park.
Not the end of the trail for me today; I’m just getting going. A quick find in a likely hiding place.
Thanks G_2

Plenty of people around so had to wait for a few to pass before we quickly found the cache, thanks
Doing this section of the park in a bit of a wonky order to make sure I didn't miss any caches out, so after finding Team SEAC's "pesky green dot" I backtracked to go around the point and find this one. I did not have my bike today so I could wander wherever I wanted. This was a nice easy find after giving directions to a muggle who was on her way to the beach.
All good here, thanks!

A day exploring Shakespear Regional Park. We ignored caches that weren't on the track so, after walking along the beach and passing school kids building rafts, this was our first find.
I headed out to Shakespeare Regional Park this afternoon for a, nearly, three hour hike. After finding "Tiri Bunker" I returned to the main trail and continued my ramble. But, I soon left the main track to take this trail to this GZ. A clear hint meant I found the hide in the very first spot I checked. Nice when that happens. When I stood back up and looked behind me I noted a good view of Little Barrier Island, so snapped a pic to share. Cheers for the cache placement!
A quick look but didn't find it so moved on to catch up with my muggle friends.
Nobody around on a very blustery day. The early tentacles of cyclone Gabrielle tickling the coastline. Nice quick find. TFTC
Today is a nice day to visit this regional park for the first time.
Mrs rattll jumped on the bike and headed in an anti clockwise direction. There was an occasional side track and the odd cache I couldn't get because of muggles, but all in all a successful tiki tour around the park.
I left the bike near the trail and walked to this one.
Thanks for putting this here

After meandering here, and enjoying the marvelous views, we are collecting any remaining caches in this, our local regional park.
Second visit here.
I don't know where I looked the first time.
Found it straight away today.

So today a crowd of 14 Team SEAC members encompassing 10 different caching names travelled north to the park and attempted all caches in the park. Logs were signed SEAC to save space. The weather today was perfect. Another nice quick find with so many people looking. Definitely not the end of the trail for us today, only about halfway around the trail, and cache 14 out of over 40 for the day.
Out with my geocaching buddies from Team SEAC exploring Shakespear Park. All logs signed Team SEAC.

Headed up this way today after one of our group suggested (for the fourth attempt) to take a walk around the park....as we had camped up here a few times before, we jumped at the opportunity, plus it was an opportunity of catching up with the group after being locked down by Covid-19.....parked nearby, and headed into the park.

A visit to this park was originally planned for June 2020 but the weather thwarted that event, it was rescheduled for Aug 2020 but then lockdown and restrictions meant we were not allowed to gather or cache, it was planned again for Jan 2021 but only a couple of the crew were available but many wanted to do it so we said we would find a better time. Today was that day, finally!!
They say good things come to those who wait and boy was this worth it....great weather, views, caches and of course the company!
The minis headed down with Mrs Stik-a-Crane to the camping area as they were needing lunch but the rest of the group headed up here to grab these last couple of caches.
Thanks for the cache.

The Team SEAC group were hitting Shakespeare Regional Park. We had attempted this 3 times previous but were thwarted with COVID lockdowns and bad weather. NEITHER were an issue today as we were greeted with an amazing day and a LARGE proportion of the Team SEAC members turning out. The kids were in full force with B4Dawn diligently pushing B4Dawn VERY Mini cacher ALL the way around the park in a buggy type pram! All logs signed Team SEAC to save log Paper.

Team SEAC was out in force today with a mission to knock off the caches to be found in Shakespear Park at the end of Whangaparaoa. This had been on the cards for quite a while now but had always been thwarted by either COVID or bad weather. Today was our fourth attempt at getting the crew together and claiming this area.
Continuing our trek around Shakespear Park and we came across this little cache. With a little departure from the track, we had one of our party continue on to the campground where we were going to stop for lunch as the kids started to get a little weary and this last push on this part of the track would probably not have been as pleasant. Not only that but pushing the buggy cross country would be a bit difficult.
So, the rest of us continued towards GZ. Upon reaching it, the search began and it wasn't long until the cache revealed itself to us.

Out with Team SEAC to get these caches. Apologies for the repetitive logging but couldn't upload my file to gsak for some reason.

Team SEAC organised a cache finding outing to Shakespear Park. Great company & a stunning autumn day. My 9th today & another quick find. Signed as SEAC. TFTC
We ended up continuing on the gravel track across the field and heading down before I checked my geo-map and realised I'd missed the turn-off. I headed back whilst mrs headed down to the camp ground, and I hoped to get the 3 available caches (one was probably missing). Soon arrived here and there were a couple of slower walkers behind me so was able to drop down and make the find and sign in whilst they admired other views. Cheers G_2.
With the huge choice of Regional Parks and places to go it's often a struggle to work out which cool place to head to next, and so the weekly Sunday breakfast discussion soon identified Shakespear Park as the destination, has been a while since last over that way. Not a huge amount of caches, more mopping up the outliers, and going to the waterfall for the first time after seeing pics online. A very warm day, glorious sunshine and plenty of space to keep to our own part of the track(s). Picnic lunch and back home for a cider in the garden - nice! Thanks to the COs for their hides.
In line with the NZ Geocache Reviewers guidance on what Covid Level 3, Part 1 looks like, geocaching IS permitted, but there are not to be any events or any new listings. It seems the NZ Covid website has failed to maintain pace with Lockdown level amendments and changes and is still lumping Geocaching in with Orienteering and other gathering type activities. Link from Facebook; https://www.facebook.com/NZGeocachingReviewers/ for further details.
Update - Level 3.2 due to be applied in Auckland region at 2359 09 Nov 21 will be allowing new listings to be published, still no Events though.

We looked for this in January but had no luck. Today celebrating GeohoundandI 's birthday it was an instant find. Don't know how me missed it last time.
A nice quick find as we walked around the park picking up a few caches and avenging a nearby DNF.
After signing the log we were about to head off but noticed an unusual ambience at GZ.
The situation got louder by the second but the reason was soon understood when we spotted the nearby sign and we couldn't help but think of Edvard Munch and his famous piece of art, as evidenced by the attached photo.

A beautiful day to check out the views from here. The grass is probably a little shorter in winter, so not too much trouble with the find here. Tftc
We've managed to get to this hide in good time form our park at Waterfall Gully carpark so may get to attempt all the caches in the park in less time than expected. Was looking from the wrong vantage point for this cache at first but that was soon rectified and log signed my both miyself and my caching buddy today, [@WildTulip](http://coord.info/PRA2ZC5). Thanks for placing G-2!

On a geocaching expedition from Nelson. Way back in February Isis58, no.13 and I planned a trip to Auckland for the planned Mega event. When Covid struck and the country went into lockdown we decided to wait and see what happened - - that was less hassle than trying to get refunds on our flights anyway. Well, of course the Mega event was cancelled but luckily for us, flying was an option again by Labour Weekend. We changed some of the details of our trip but decided we would fit in as much caching as we could. We were joined by Mrs SoBad. We visited some amazing places, fitted in some walks, came across lots of people - - lots of traffic too. A huge thank you to the COs for hiding caches which presented us with puzzles to solve, took us to great places, were cleverly camouflaged, were cunningly hidden - - sometimes in plain sight - - all of the above and of course an equal thank you for the ones that just gave us one more smilie. We really really appreciated them all. Thanks !
We did have a short discussion about whether to continue on to here or head down. We decided we had the time and we were that close it would be a pity not to complete the full circuit. Really pleased we did. TFTC # 16,117
Not the end of the caches in the area found by INSS today. Lots of people enjoying the area on Labour Day today. Signed as INSS.
Thanks.
Thanks.
The boys raced ahead to find this one as it was pretty clear where it was going to be once you read the clue. TFTC
Ellie found this one. Careful with the fence though.

Found this one with a group of friends, Cachers.
I, Line_Moh, Danverkruus and Elviraxx, we met at the the park for a day of fun, tracks and caches, and we had all of that, plus swimming (some of us) and pizza in the end of the day. It was a very good Sunday in an excellent place.
Elviraxx using her abilities of Parkour found this one, and saved the group as we were almost giving it a DNF. Bit tricky this one as the fence is electrified, not something really serious but scaring anyway, hehe.

Very hot up here this afternoon but after making our way safely through all the cows and letting the muggles pass us by at the gate we made a deep forage into the long thick grass to make another find.
The grass is so thick at this time of year so I had to excavate my way through the greenery to the base of the post to find this. All nice and dry. Well designed cache container for ease of getting the paper out. Another nice hide from the CO.
The container was well encased in thick growing grass so it took a few minutes before it was exposed. Got there in the end! TFTC
With the forecast for sun and warm weather, I was keen to get out and stretch my legs while enjoying the sunshine. Decided to bring my niece and nephew along for the hike. We had to wait out a group of muggles, before we could search for the cache but it was a quick find.
Happy International Geocaching Day! Found it while in the area with International visitors on their Irish Summer holidays in NZ. All good at GZ. TFTC
Happy international Geocaching day! Had a nice walk in the park. Thanks for the cache!
Took a nice walk to find some caches on the international geocaching day. The views here are stunning TFTC!
We were in the park today with the "Meetups" group for an epic adventure around the park. Signed logs as "Meetups". Climbed the hill from the beach carpark and we are well on our way around the park. Covered 13km today. Made good time up the hill here surprisingly. Quick find. SL. TFTC.
Auckland Geocaching Meetup (signed as Auckland Meetup) event day and conveniently the last opportunity to get the mystery at the museum caches. Nice and quick. TFTC
Went out for a walk around Shakespear Regional Park with a friend today and took the opportunity to grab a few caches in the area, while watching all the cute new born lambs. A straightforward find here, TFTC!
Found a while back but forgot to log. A great trip in an awesome park. TTFC!
There have been a lot of caches hidden in Shakespear Park since our last visit, so it is an obvious place to come today for a long walk to find a lot. Quite a few people out walking the trail this afternoon, and we had to wait a short while here before making the grab. Thanks.
Quick find, had to wait for muggles to pass before signing the log though. There was a handy nail in the post to help poke out the paper too !!
Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, aka WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC

1st of 7 on this glorious day with the junior dispatchers. What a cool walking trail! tftc!
There were a few muggles enjoying the nice weather and walk but thankfully none close to us as we made the find of this one.
We were following a group of foreign muggles on our approach to this one. We had to control ourselves as one of them was so busy taking lots of photos, he stood in the middle of a fresh cow dung! Cache was quickly located in the first place we looked.
