Called in to check today and all was fine here, remember this is just the start point for the next three most amazing places around gold diggings, I urge you to go on to the next three caches.
My GPS was well off for this one. Almost 15 metres off. Had me walking around in circles scratching my head for ages. Decided to investigate the most outstanding landmark in the area and quickly had the cache in hand. Thanks for the cache
Found this Fergclan cache on our way home from a couple of days in Tenterfield. I wish we could have ventured on to the other 3 in the series but my other half was hangry. He gets grumpy when he’s hangry. It was a quick find though and we signed the log and headed back to the bustling town of Drake on this holiday Monday. The man who was hangry got a pie to go at the pub. The food hadn’t eased his tiredness yet though so we had to go on with our journey.
Thanks for the cache Fergs. We’ll have to return another day for the others.
Cheers and happy caching!

My geodog Scruffy wanted to look for some caches so I thought "why not?"
So we headed out & tried to fill in a few gaps

Tank was covered in notes. Would like to go check out the mine and the other caches one day.

Easy find. Been through this area many times over the years, never knew this was here. Tftc
TFTC smile 8585 out and about with Hatzoff, Snickersallan, RoddyC, Patrol14, TMZ59 and miss millie geo dog, having a great time in Casino & Lismore.

Second day visiting from the Gold Coast with geo friends hatzofff, RoddyC, patrol14, grannysmith1947 and TMZ59.
The co-ords took us to some metal objects but after a fruitless search we spread out further and eventually found the prize.

Found at 11:49 AM GAFF3 at a distance of 12 metres.
This cache should be called "Mined where you stand" as some recent muggle visitors decided to take a dump here - and lots of it as well
Wonder how the water tanks were filled - would have taken many many tankers to pump water in there.
Thanks Fergclan.
Feedback: With the co-ords out by about 12 metres and looking for a nano in a large area, this should be rated a bit higher for difficulty.

TFTC,
After spending a few days around Tenterfield and on the move again making our way home, we have a chance to log our caches.
Took a drive out to Drake for lunch and visited one of the 3 drives providing Geocaches. There is no way to store water here. Nana nel saw a shadow.

On day trip out to Drake for lunch, search around for quite a while, we had given up when we walked back to the car and I saw something, while Wazza9 was putting DNF in his GPS I said do you want to sign this, signed log and replaced. Thanks to Fergclan
An interesting little drive off the highway - thanks so much for showing this spot!
Were sticky beaking around the area and came upon this cache . Unfortunately it’s getting late in the day so will come and do the others another day.

In the area and grabbing some caches for the new souvenir. Found quickly, no lid, but lucky the log is dry. Placed it back with a covering.
Cheers Ferg

The sight of four cache symbols on me GPS screen didn't escape me attention this morning
I headed up the hill to find this cache,
and go for a hike to the mines afterwards.
The GPS pointed to open ground,
but nearby was a likely spot where the cache was found
Tanks for the cache

Hatzofff and I are on our way home from Bathurst after a few weeks house sitting, and of course we have made time for caching along the way.
Arrived at the parking area and hatzofff began searching where her GZ was. Mine was in the middle of the track, but that made no sense, so I wandered over to the more obvious place and after a short search had the cache in hand.
Log signed and replaced on June 20, 2019 at 9:55 AM. TFTC, Fergclan.

Out with RoddyC returning home after house sitting in Bathurst.
Caching to day will take us home tonight. Travelling from Tenterfield via Casino.
Went to GZ but needed to expand our search. Wonder what the tank was used for.

I've been through Drake a few times. More than a few actually, hundreds - but not once have I asked myself why the little village is located there, or what industry used to support it. I've never even driven down a side street in this little place, except to visit the pissers. So after I found out that there were 6...yes 6 new caches near town...and no one else had found them yet...I had to go. I pulled up at GZ - what a huge tank! A quick search revealed the cache and the virgin logsheet was waiting for me! FTF! Yeah! I replaced the cache and left the car parked near the tank. Felt like a bit of a walk, and after completing the walk, I reckon it was a good decision to leave my i35 parked. If I had my 4x4 I could have driven it easily, but I would have missed lots of things along the way. Fancy finding an upside down old jacuzzi in bushes! Loved this cache, thanks Fergs!
