Short morning stroll through the Molonglo River grasslands and had to go for this one when I spied it on the map!Started down below (see pic) then worked my way up above the ledge before sparring with some spiky soldiers and attaining the right level where a quick and slightly precarious find was made.Cache in terrific order, as is the view. Thanks! Fav point from me for sure.
Wow! It's been a while between finds up here. I guess I can't really talk because on all my several previous visits I've managed to avoid this one. satisfying to finally log a smiley today TFTC
Getting up here was hard. Very hard. Lots of blackberries.
Thought we knew where the cache was but it was covered in blackberries! The cache wasn't there which was a good thing because otherwise I would get scratched up so much!!
Then after about 10 minutes of stumbling around, I went down a bit riskier route which went to the prize! Thanks for the ammo can! TFTC 2 Leg Drive! Fav for the ammo can and amazing location!!

I love large caches! A nice easy find, the view from GZ confused us at first as we didn't realise we were looking at an island in the middle of the river. TFTC
Tankengine had some cache maintenance to do at a cache in the area and so I asked if I could come along and then if he would like to join me for a couple of outstanding caches I had.
I’m so glad to have come out to this one. Great views! But I’m also glad I came now - the blackberries are starting to take over a little.
We sat watching the world go by, the birds fly and some hikers follow the river. It is a lovey spot. Tftc 2 Leg Drive!!!

It sure was nice to get out after far to long of no exercise, so with GreyHams we made our way out into the Denman area on a lovely spring day for our allocated 2 hours of recreation. Felt good to be out and its a nice area to walk in with views, great rock outcrops and a few areas of running water. Found a deer antler which was sort of cool so lots of boxes ticked, and a few caches found along the way.
This cache has been sitting out here by itself so today it was good to stop and make our way across. A little up and down to reach but the cache is in a great spot and the views are really nice. Always love a quality container and a large so a FP for the cache, the blackberries are not big but gave anough issue... gave them a good stomp for good measure! Thanks for the cache 2 Leg Drive.

After being cooped up at home for far too long, Aquilus1 and I got out and about in Denman Prospect. Bit of a loop and a lot of up & down, but the fences were kind as well as the caches. One or two tricky ones but all found eventually. Pay attention to the hints people!
Did this one on the way back as it had been here all by itself for far too long. Steep climb, but made the find easily enough. Blackberries were not too nice though

#11795 - 10:53:00 AM; The weather forecast wasn't promising and I needed soem finds for the daily calendar challenge, so headed over for a wander along the Woodland Trail. Left this one for the return journey and was glad I made the approach from above and that the rain was still some way away. Did the Mountain Goat trick and eventually spotted a likely hiding spot. The blackberries also contributed to the experience as I managed to locate the nice sized cache and add my name to the log. TFTC 2 Leg Drive
Found it! Although I think it is in a pretty dangerous position.. there are a few safer places it could be placed & the blackberry bushes are the worst.. all in all a fun cache to find & a pretty cool cache container.
Out and about today along the river corridor and this was my first stop. Took few minutes to get the right the spot but then all was good and the great size caches was in hand. Great to see an ammo can out in the field...beats the you know what out of the micro we get these days.
Thanks 2 Leg Drive.....neat little spot with great views. Fav point for sure.

Decide to do the woodland track on my day off with my geowife wow what a view and we have enjoy the walk seen too many kangaroos and one sneaky fox TFTC 2 Leg Drive
The phone kept urging me on - just five more metres.......to a great spot. Found a nice-sized cache right on the edge! Good fun. TFTC 2_LD
An excellent find! Just watch out for the BlackBerry bushes though, especially if you are wearing shorts. Very scratchy. A clever hide with an amazing view!
Found at 1:38:00 PM
Out on a walk for exercise and caching today. Jumped the fence at the nearest approach and made my way to the cache. I was expecting something bigger! When I were a lad this passed for a regular.
Thanks 2 Leg Drive

In caronavirus quarantine, you can still exercise outside, thus caching can still keep you sane. Decided to do a walk in coombes and surrounds, starting at coombes park, heading north along jogalong track then walk along molonglo river. Overall a 9km loop there and back, finding some challenging caches, enjoying amazing views and sunshine. This cache was slightly off the path requiring mountain goat skills. Found intact, tftc
I had one batch of caches along the Molonglo river in Coombs left to do today. The track took me to the first two, then it was cross country to a cliff for a great view. I could have returned to the track, but instead I went down to the river and up to the lookout for my next cache. from there I checked out the dam and the map of the trails before heeding into the suburb to get my last cache of the morning.
Wow, this one had the potential for a misstep. Between blackberries and drop offs I am glad to get back onto firm ground.
Thanks.

I went for a tiny cycling trek along this side of the Molongolo river, and collected some caches along the way. It's a nice place, though alarmingly barren still, if taken as an example of bushfire recovery.
Isaac's View: Took me a bit longer than I anticipated of a Large sized container; the coordinates danced around a bit, but eventually I approached at the right "level" of the stepped outcroppings.
Thank you for the cache!

A slow 6km walk around in a loop crossing the Molonglo River twice following the cache trail. Totalled 250m ascent/descent over 3.5 hours having lunch at 1.30pm at the 'Life Support' tree up on the hill over looking Denman Prospects and Coombs.
Took a while to find with GZ out by 7m ie: much further down from the 'platform' (at the top?) than expected. Plenty of blackberries attacking today. TFTC 2 Leg Drive

I missed this one on my last visit, so walked down/up to it today. Searched around for quite a while looking for the 'platform'. GPS kept telling me I was 3m away, even when moving 10+ m to a different spot, so just had to check all the likely spots. Got to an awkward location and spotted the container. After a few adjustments, it was retrieved.
Thanks,
Thanks,
I was in search of more large sized caches so I took aim on this one. I’m not to fond of long grass or rocks due to potential snakes and thus cache had lots of both overall it was a fun adventure off of the beaten path. TFTH
A very enjoyable stroll out to these rocks. Had to be pretty careful given all the rain this morning, but persistence paid off and the the cache was found after a couple of minutes. Good to see a 'real' cache container for a change.
Cache still in place. All checked and in good condition.
Terrain rating 3.5 means a climb in and around the rocks.
Good luck

It was a cold bleak day and the wind was really biting. Had a few goes but could not really identify the platform so wandered aimlessly checking out each outcrop. Didn't find the cache, but then the wind kept whipping my hair into my face as well, so not the best conditions to be looking and clambering around steeper parts. Will be back for another go soon! At least there were no snakes to be seen and the roos must have thought we were nuts
Found after a 10-minute search. Full log to follow.
It was a little harder than usual to get to GZ because there's some construction going on. Suburbia is growing on some nearby land. "Build brick boxes one by one, they block my sun." I suppose we all need somewhere to live. I just wish there was a bit more effort put in to making the houses carbon neutral or better. But this is a big tangent and I didn't intend to go there.
Anyway, after a good search, it took me a few minutes to get the cache out of its spot, and then I saw all the swag in there. Alas I had brought no swaps so I left all there for someone who is better prepared.

Deviated from the Woodland Track for this one. Took me awhile to find this one as there's so many levels but find it I did. Great spot to sit and listening to the flowing river. Finally dropped off my trackable "allrounders Treasure X Trackable" as I thought this cache was worthy of starting its journey.
Thanks again 2 Leg Drive, a favourite for me!
This was the 9th of 20 caches found today

Found with Trodectus. This one was quite difficult, especially avoiding the blackberry thorns! [:(!]

Found with Decrypter. We were out for a walk after lunch and we decided we'd head for this cache. We arrived at GZ and started searching. Our GPSs didn't settle and after some minutes we expanded the search area. Eventually D came up with CIH. Then we headed back to the car. TFTC.

Why during the hottest week of the summer did TikvaNZ and I decide to go out caching? The answer is not exactly clear! But to our credit, we both agreed an afternoon jaunt was a ridiculous idea and it should be best done early morning. So here we are, ready to get at them, just past sparrows fart! We targeted these caches as, to be frank, TikvaNZ does not have many left to get in the ACT! Unless otherwise noted, caches were found in good order and in accordance with any hints!
This cache: last cache of the morning, and a nice big one! TikvaNZ remembered where this one was, which saved us some time on our way back to the car.
Thanks 2 Leg Drive for the cache and the fun!

**This Cache:**
The last cache for the day, was much too hot to do anything else, we were starting to get quite heat exhausted already despite being armed with hats and water!
Not entirely sure why this is listed as a large cache, but not complaining given how rare they are to find
A really awesome spot, and my favourite container type Well done for finding this location and great hidey hole!
Thanks 2 Leg Drive

**Molonglo River Reserve Track:**
After driving down here for a FTF with Flintstones and Dino I suggested we do a few more caches to make it worth while, we all agreed that this trail wouldn't be too taxing in the heat as the terrain is quite easy and you can follow the path for most caches.
Flintstones and Dino started off by finding my puzzle cache "Winter Tramroads" (GC7ZWXF) which they had already solved, so I got the pleasure of watching them make the find at GZ
We then headed down the track and grabbed charlotteleclerc's caches on the way past, before lokipagen's cache at the lookout. Also grabbed two GA caches along the way.
On the way back to the car I detoured past "Issac's View" by 2 Leg Drive which the others had already found on a previous visit.
All up a really great walk, the track is already quite overgrown however despite how new it is! And one of the bridges has been well and truly underwater in the past! They obviously didn't expect how high the water would get up too!

Got a call from StrangeTrousers who had a free afternoon – “want to come caching?” answer was “yes please.” So it was off in his trusty geomobile to go explore Molonglo. Another great find with a great walking track with signage, places to sit, look outs which captured beautiful views. The last part of the tack had a few prickles but most of it was easy to walk. Loved that there were lots of blackberries and sampled a few. Return visit required to harvest some for the freezer. One of the highlights was seeing two wedged tailed eagles and watching them flying & sitting in a tree scoping out what next was on the menu. My new walking backpack worked a treat carrying my water for the hot part of the day at the beginning. Will bring good camera next time I am out and get some photos too.
Love finding this place through caching and coming back for a swim, birdwatching – photographing and some blackberries.
Great views out here. ST made it to the cache as I was oooohing and arrring over the views just above GZ.
Thanks for placing a cache here and giving me a reason to come explore and see this place.

#4703 5th for today
A rare combination of a 1/2 day off and weather not too hot. What to do ? Stupid question. I gave CBRChic a call to see if she was keen and as usual she was, so off we drove to Coombes to grab this newish series of caches along the Molonglo. It started out quite hot, but there was no hurry but a change came through about 1/2 way and the temp dropped to about 22C - very pleasant.
We were pleasantly surprised by this track, not just for the caches, but it was quite scenic too. We spotted a couple of juvenile wedge-tailed eagles up close as well as a hawk of some sort.
We loved this one. Not the blackberries so much, but I took revenge by eating some.
Thanks to the COs: 2 Leg Drive

A nice morning to cache. I made this more difficult than it needed to be by not looking properly and walking straight over this the first time I went passed it. TFTC
With the weather forecast to only be about 36 degrees today, it seemed the perfect time to go out for a long walk in open country! Actually I chose the Woodland Track expect I might spend much of my time, you know, in a woodland with trees and shade. Not quite...
A terrific spot here, once you dodge the blackberries. And an easy find, once you dodge the blackberries. The views over the river are, indeed, very pleasant. TFTC

Great spot for a cache and a real challenge despite its large size .
Many will dnf this .
Top views with the photo attached 6.50 pm Sunday night .
Many thanks to 2 leg drive for the tricky hide.

Tftc. This cache reminded me of a recent cache of the COs we found - a multi on Black Mountain. Down a hill and in a crevice at the back of some rocks. This one was a little pricklier and with a better view but both were great caches. Thanks to the CO.
Found with The Matetrix. Another warm taek session over we headed over field and under plough. Well, underpass, over barb wire fence and through blackberries. The find didn’t come straight away but with it came some great views, and no wiggly sticks. Favourite added for the time with The Matetrix. TNLNSL TFTC
Close to home so went for a short walk. Only one black snake on the walk there. Was not expecting blackberries but it adds to the fun. Took 10 minutes to find. TFTC.

A nice walk to GZ, then it took me longer than it should have done to find the cache. Once at the correct level, it was a quick find. After signing and replacing the cache, I admired the views. TFTC.

Decided to come out for a walk to this one today. A nice little walk, although I don't think I took best approach! What with gullies and blackberries and fences (my kind of cache ) Certainly nice views from GZ - another brief fight with a blackberry and the cache was had! Wow - haven't seen a cache like this in a long while - reminds me of caching in the 00's! After signing and returning, I checked my options for my return walk. Although not ideal, I decided to go back the way I came! All in all a very nice cache experience, so a favourite from me. Thanks 2LG.
Yabba Dabba Doo *FTF* at 2:44pm with Dino! left my FTF pathtag for the 2TF.
Dino and I were happy that we could fit this cache into our busy Saturday, or rather that it fitted itself into our schedule by popping up when it did. We had been to this place a few times of late and so we knew exactly what was awaiting us. A short walk in and we were at the described outlook, cache spotted quickly but took a bit longer to extract it as we had to find that one specific angle that work. We then took our time with SL and making some swaps. Left TBs and took your pathtag, made some swaps and enjoyed the scenery. What a great cache and location, a FAVpoint from us.
Thank you 2 Leg Drive for putting the cache out and maintaining it.
