Not many vans really nearby, we stayed right here about 10 years ago. A nice find thanks.
A great trip over to Queensland.
Was able to put a few smileys on the map.
This was one of them.
Now catching up with logging them with five minutes on the computer.

Fascinating stuff about Barcoo - but what is missing is how the name "Barcoo" came about? That would have been very interesting.
We are camped just 42 metres from GZ and when we went over to find the cache we had a bit of trouble as there were muggle campers setting up on each side - however they were pre-occupied with their work and ignored us in our retrieval and replacement exercise
Thanks 1muggle.

Travelling homeward bound to Busselton from the Townsville Mega, how lost can we get?
It’s been 2 months since the CacheQld mega and we are still in Queensland, that’s still a long way to go to get home to WA
But the fun bit is, finding all these geocaches along the way.
No matter where we park our caravan for the night, it’s always an exciting day to see this great country through the eyes of the local geocachers.
Thanks to all the COs for showing us your favourite spots along the way.

Quick stop here before calling it a day and heading to the bottle shop. Swearah took a quick step up and boom, cache! TFTC!
Krcamber and I had a big day of caching and decided to grab this one on the way back to the accommodation (via the pub obviously…)
A quick spot at GZ and soon we had the cache in hand. I love these kind of tree climbs - they’re the ones I can do!
Thanks for the cache, 1muggle

Out early this morning to beat the crowd. Ha ! A whole family found the cache just before us.. TFTC
We camped overnight but there were muggles in their van right at GZ. They left next morning so geohubby wandered over to find it while I finished up in the motorhome. Nice easy find. TFTC
Found while traveling on my 'Quest to the Cape' trip from Adelaide to the northern tip of Australia on Cape York Peninsula. The plan was to tour along the Strzelecki Track to Innamincka, out to Noccundra and through Quilpie, Blackall, Barcaldine, Hughendon and Ravenshoe to Cairns, then out to Weipa and up to the top. Based myself at the Barcoo River Camping Area at Blackall for two nights, heading out each day to do a circuit of caches in the area. A remarkably easy early morning find here as I discovered that this cache was just 15 metres away from where I'd set up my tent!!! Thanks for the cache 1muggle!
Went back this morning, muggle still encamped at GZ but thankfully had taken his clothesline down so I had no qualms about wandering up to locate GZ. As he was out and about I introduced him to the game. Even let him find cache and as a result I believe we have another player who will introduce his grandchildren. Nice easy find. TFTC
Someone camped at GZ and by the look of it have their clothesline right at GZ. Can’t get this one today. Here for the QLD Golf Masters. Might see if they’ve moved on tmrw.
Busy place this time of year, parked enough to hide GZ.
Well, this journey started about 12 months or more ago, skip 2020 and we find ourselves planning a long-overdue road trip. This means one thing ... a cache run would be involved. One or two different routes where planned caches were studied, some more than others (manly puzzle styles), and a plan was hatched.
It includes the most number of puzzles we have ever solved personally, Wherigo's, and even a few 'FTF' (FTF) FTF caches. The distance that was driven is approx. 3500 km. Over some 10 days. 14km of muddy, red, and black soil 4wd only slip-sliding heart-pumping road - which we got through without incident only to get bogged a while later on the side of a tar road doing a U-turn.
The total number of caches found is yet to be determined, could also depend upon my logging them, as those who know me also know my lack of logging or length of time to do so could mean the correct total will never be shown. Still, it’s not about the numbers.
Logs have been signed with any one of the following, JABs, FWBs, TasReach, MEMO, or TR. Often depended upon who was signing the logbook, time of the day, length of the days caching run, sleep-deprived state, condition of the logbook. Penned often in the first available spot (except in the case of new cache), in between other cache's names. Hopefully to help extend the life of a logbook. The date was not often recorded, again to save room and maybe a little time.
Distance travel is undetermined, basically, fly from Hobart to Brisbane, drive northerly to Gympie, out through Gayndah, Monto to the Westwood, and then turn west straight out to Longreach, with a part-day layover to collect all those 92 solved puzzles. Home is hopefully via Jericho, south through Mexico and into Blackall then down and cross to Roma, Toowoomba Brissie and fly home.
Meeting up with great family friends of ours to share part of this journey MEMO, the cache name TasReach or TR for short was born, been both Tasmania and Longreach. So wished each cache could have its own story, but in that case, I would never finish logging. So I thought a long story was better than a TFTC. But hey thanks for the cache anyway.
JABs.

Watched a idiot trying to get out in the mud some mother’s do have them. No need he may have stayed here another night. All good with the cache. Thanks for this one
Fortunately the muggles who were camped right next to GZ when we walked over from where we were camped nearby were not home so we were able to search unhindered. Still felt conspicuous, but we were able to make a quick find and be on our way.
It was only a short drive from Tambo to Blackall today, but we did find a few caches in Tambo that we had not done yesterday before we left. A puzzle we had solved last night, the final for a wherigo we did yesterday, and another 15 stage Wherigo. Then it was a few more caches en route.
Set up in Blackall for a while now.
Thank you to the local COs for developing and maintaining the caches. You are much appreciated.

TFTC. A nice quick find after coming into camp on a nice warm day. I’m visiting from the Hunter Valley near Newcastle.
Day Five of our caching adventure in Blackall. Today we attempted some caches in and south of town.
Thanks for placing this cache here. Over the years, Geocaching has taken us on many adventures and to lots of wonderful destinations all over Australia. Without 'caching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic wanderings. 'Caching has also introduced us to a diverse group of like-minded people, many of whom we now call friends.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny

Quick and easy, thankfully the muggles were camped further over near river. Was dry enough to sign.
07/01/21 After doing caching around Blackall yesterday decided to tackle the remaining caches on the powertrail. Completed all active caches to #166 to end (426). Some caches have been listed by me as require archive as they are widening the road and these caches were in the section of trees that have been removed. Roadtrip Mackay to Emerald to Barcaldine to Aramac to Blackall to Jericho over the these 3 weeks. Lots of puzzle solving before and during trip. Thanks to all for creating this trail of caches for our enjoyment. SL logs where required. All caches discovered were in okay condition unless I mention below and even with all the rain the dirt road was accessible. Continued after dinner with some nighttime caching around Blackwater.
Blackall Trip Day 1. Spending a few days in the area caching and sightseeing. Quickly found, logged signed and replaced. Thanks.
I am heading up to Barcaldine region for a week of family time and of course geocaching. Sorry for the generic post. Especially because I am going to find a lot. TFTC
Great cache. Thanks for arranging and interesting placement. Fav point. Our thanks to 1muggle for placing this cache and enhancing our enjoyment of the area.
Day eight of my outback Queensland trip and hopefully I will get Blackall completed and be in Barcaldine by the night. Wow there is so much to do in and around this town and some really fun caches. Again I will have no problems in continuing my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day.
Meet up with Willis007 for an early start, as there is a good deal to get completed today. Plus it was nice to have company on the drive around today. The plan was to do the loose caches , the Evora road trail, wool scour trail, Ravensbourne road trail and anything else as we pass. with most of the hard work already done it was a matter of signing logs today.
All good with this cache and with the log signed and cache returned as found, it was onto the next one. Thank you for placing it here, I really enjoyed the drive around this area today.

Found on my solo camping trip north from Adelaide.
After spending the night camped at Blackall, I made my way to Tambo today, essentially via the Heartland Wherigo series, picking up selected caches along the way.
I camped quite close to this cache last night and grabbed it this morning before I left.
Thanks 1muggle for the cache.

Stepped up to retrieve the cache, which is safe from flooding here. I experienced the **rains** firsthand last week and the place quickly morphs into a mudbath

Another hot day was in store so we tried to get going early with ilook4geo to get some caching done in the morning. We had a reasonable day but the heat did slow the hunt down, as we did not want to suffer heat exhaustion. Took lots of water to drink.
We enjoyed the caches we found, signed the logs, replaced all as they were found and hurried back to the car for protection from the heat. Thanks go to 1muggle for placing this cache.

Spent the day caching in the Blackall area with goingplaces2, but it was very hot, so some we just passed by. Thanks for this cache.
Been here a couple of times with au.fait but a couple camping within 6 metres of GZ stopped us even looking. While out and about , heard on the grapevine that the couple had signed up this morning. Straight back to make an easy find.
Thanks 1muggle for placing this cache.

We are now on our way to The Springs but just had to check if the part of the car arrived (which it didn't). A quick stop here to grab this cache. Hopefully will be around for a while unless the rains do come. Very dry here today.

In town for QOGM 2019.We have had a wonderful weekend with friends old and new. Our thanks to the organisers and CO's for all they have done to make the weekend so great.
I've had some technology issues over the weekend so instead of logging in order, I am logging today what I know we have found just to clear the backlog.
All caches were in good order, our TB's visited each cache. TFTC

Queensland Outback Geomuster 2019 trip to Blackall. Day 3. As the heat picked up during the day I traveled from Wyandra to Blackall via Charlieville, Augathella and Tambo. I arrived in Blackall in time to do a few caches and join in my first evening happy hour surrounded by great caching friends. I arrived a bit earlier than expected, so I spent a bit of time around town collecting caches as I went and met up with a few other cachers along the way.
Thanks.

TFTC,
Sorry for the Generic log, I had 57 finds today.
Today was a big day caching with Coongoola ( who we met along the way ) and Nana nel south of Blackall.
The puzzles I completed were a team effort by myself, Nana nel and Everlasting who came on board due to problems I was having and at the request of Nana nel. She showed me so much.
