OCW Geospark62. Took a while because of all traffic. Trying not to look conspicuous on the side of a road while the cars park is hard!! TFTC
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Today we moved from Morisset to Maitland. Once we dropped off the van and had some lunch it was off to try and complete the Map of Tasmania. Boy was it hard work with multiple DNF's at the start, we were even doubting our caching mojo after a while. Mr F wasn't a happy driver as the roads were very busy, glad it was the weekend, assuming it's busier on weekdays[?]Got home at sunset with only 1 left to tackle tomorrow. It's a shame cachers seem hesitant to log needs maintenance and DNF's both of which help Cache owner keep on top of pending maintenance.Liked this container alot. Fave point added.TFTC kingfisher_au
Reperio 10:50Today was Day 2 of our return to Newcastle escapade caching trip, and Master Vitruvius and I started on some caches around the Cessnock/Maitland area. We decided to finally tackle the R&D series today, and along side navigating some of the dangerous and at times illegal places to park, we managed to get through the series pretty well, and found most of the caches in good condition. It was nice to be able to revisit this area again after moving away. This one had me on the wrong side of the road until a random check on the opposite side soon had the cache in hand.Gratias kingfisher_auAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Wow what a day out caching for the first time with KAZ444 we had a great day and made over 20 finds. We finished with a wine at Kurri Kurri Bowlo. All in all it was a great day and we will repeat.
Nothing to be found here. I checked up to 15m from GZ just in case the co-ords were out or there had been cache creep, but had no luck.
I was after some calendar finds today and had decided a few days ago that a trip north would be just the ticket. There are still a number of caches to snaffle around Kurri Kurri so thought to make that my target. And then the weather decided to have a say. But when I looked on the BOM Radar, Kurri Kurri was a few kilometres north of the rain band. I just need to get there. The rain as I approached the Mooney Mooney Bridge was horrific! And the traffic slowed as I went past a jackknifed semi - must have got there only a few minutes after it happened as there was no sign of any emergency vehicles. Finally I reached my target, and had pleasant weather for the whole of my caching day. Perfect.Well it would have been if not for a number of DNFs I racked up on a P&G powertrail.###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###And the DNFs start!
Looks to be missing could have been a number of different packages found near but be careful we opened one thinking it could be the cache and it was full of used needles disgusting
Staying the weekend camping in the Watagans, we went out on the Saturday to find some caches, when we stumbled over this series. We decided to do the whole series, even though we started from the end.Well done, well guarded.
Ha! Love it. Found with MummyPenny. Gets a fave for giving is a laugh. Thanks kingfisher_au.
Hahahaha nice play on the usual container for this type of find. FP awarded. TFTC!
This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 12445.
I was out today trying to find a few caches to help me along the way to this months challenge. It had been a while since I’d been out this way and I made my way long between storms. Not much room to pull over but got there.
Thanks kingfisher_au for the cache.

What to do with a free day in Hunter Valley that does not cost anything?
Having heard of all the deadly creatures in OZ though, should I be venturing into the scrub or putting my hand in strange places?
Thanks for the first 8, we ran out of steam after that. Regards 2 ancient Brits.

Found today with nellc while on a drive around to get out of the house.
Stopped a bit up the road and walked back to retrieve the cache but then a local in a badly operating vehicle stopped almost across the road I walked away back to the car to sign the log. Then after they left leaving a lot of rubber and smoke behind, probably the reason for the badly operating vehicle, I replaced the container where I found it.
Thanks, kingfisher_au for this cache by the way this was a great looking container.

Enjoying a short break in the Hunter Valley to play golf. Thought we'd snag some caches while here. Nicely built container. Not usually a fan of this style tin, but really like this tongue in cheek version!
Thanks for the effort put in

Found with My Dad (DJANT) and my Brothers (dart16 & Jedi Anakin) I have my own account now and am trying to catch up to the boys Thanks for the cache.
Well 2020 has been a relatively slow year on the caching front due to COVID-19. If it wasn't for that it would have been a trip to the USA and Geocaching's 20th year celebrations.
However the crew got back together and The Rats, Hoojar and I teamed up for a few days caching up around the Hunter area. First it was to finish off some of the older OZGM series caches then up into the Watagans for more. Most of Saturday was spent tackling the great Dogs Head Trail then on Sunday it was down into Newcastle city for some great caches.
This was another find on our trip.
TFTC!

COVID has really put a dampener on this year’s caching ability, but it hasn't stopped my enthusiasm to get out and find a cache whenever possible. So, it was with excitement that I was keen to catch up with Steeba and Hoojar for our first caching weekend of the year.
We targeted a number of powertrails in the Central Coast and Hunter region over our 3-day caching frenzy. The weekend threw up a bit of everything, including a plethora of finds, mountain bush bashing, coastal caching, weather that varied from beautiful to bizarre, sleeping under the stars, some close calls with the flora and fauna, lovely local hospitality and most of all, a great time away with my mates”.
Thanks to all the C.O’s for placing and maintaining their caches for us to find. Apologises for the generic log but with so many finds I couldn’t personalise every one of them.
Saturday dawned early with spectacular views from MacLeans lookout and a few nearby caches, one of these include my 19000th find. From here we headed south deep into the Watagans where we completed the LMHS trail. Our day concluded with a few caches around Kurri. Thanks

With restrictions starting to ease in our Covid World, it was decided that 2020 caching really need to kick up a gear, and so a plan was set in motion for The Rats, Steeba and myself to head to the Newcastle and Hunter region. There were a few trails, power trails, and Lab Caches that would be hitting our radars, along with a milestone for The Rats. We headed off on Thursday evening and turned for jome on Sunday afternoon. A wonderful long weekend was had, and our cache finds topped 450 for the trip. All in all it was a great success.
The caches were excellent. Some indeed were amazing, and favourite points have been awarded. The company, as always, was faultless. The weather was varied. We had sun, rain, wind, colder, warm, more wind... A bit of everything! We managed to find a few nice spots to camp, and enjoyed the company of Big Matt and Marcus Vitruvius for dinner at a local establishment on Saturday evening.
Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Thank you to all cache owners for their hides.
Cheers

I joined a trip to Maitland with Aquilus1, dty73, Tankengine, Barb2e, Kitty Katch & Joolay. The weekends main game was to do the dogs head series, but along the way we did some old caches around Sydney and did as many Maitland caches as time allowed. The return journey was via some old caches and some challenges that may or may not be met one day.
Day 2 was the dogs head series and three other series around Kurri Kurri. The R&D caches and many other Maitland caches are absolutely fantastic containers showing great creativity with new tools.
Thanks for the cache kingfisher_au

Found with and signed the Capital Crunchers who are: dty73, Tankengine, Joolay, kittycatch, Albida33, Barb2e.
A four day caching trip up around Maitland collecting a number of caches of interest to suit everyone along for the fun. A lovely area, very scenic, green and lots of historic locations. Also some great caching to be done while in the area as well as on our way there and home.
The 'Dogs head' was a main focus of the trip, and took us the the best part of the day along with a few smaller trails and a few as we passed but a lovely scenic area to spend the day in. Most caches were straight forward finds, a few took a little search and others are great 3D printed designs or LARGE! Great trail through a great area, thanks for the cache kingfisher_au.

replaced a wet and soggy log as cache left up the wrong way please put it back bottom up with protection
This container should stand out, but it doesn't. ?? Had to look twice to see it. Funny how the eyes play tricks. Cache is full of water. Found the lid very difficult to slide. Log is mush. Needs maintenance.
Nice one.
TFTC
Unfortunately the bag the log was in wasn't closed previously so the log is soggy mush.

Ginger lane is closed due to construction works.
I’ve tried accessing the street from both sides and was able to get to the middle two by foot.
I think the builders weren’t appreciating the fact of me roaming around there so please avoid going there for now until construction is finished.
Thank for the very nice boxes
Hightech enables it

In Kurri for a weekend of Geocaching with Wazza9, quick find, stamped the log and replaced. Thanks to kingfisher_au for the great series and the well crafted containers
TFTC,
Visited trackables.
Came up here today with the idea of achieving more than we did. After a while, the numbers didn't matter and rain stopped us from doing some walking caches at a critcal time.
Great to have a chance to do a variety of caches placed by different cachers, thanks for providing and continuing to maintain your caches.

Doing the series in hope of bringing up a milestone today. What an interesting bunch of containers. Shame about the busy road. On a Saturday morning as well. Imagine what it must be like on weekdays.

I saw this series and really wanted to do it. Would of taken a few hours printing out some of those containers. My favourite would of been how you attached the one with the skippy hint, no relation to my username there. TFTCs
Another one I made a quick find at so not much to say TFTC

We loved the 3D containers and thank you for the effort that you have put into making them. This is the first time we have seen this style of hand made containers. All caches found are in good condition. SL TFTC
This was a really fun series of caches to find. Each container was different and all were very well made. We looked forward in anticipation, along with ilook4geo, wondering what the next cache would be like. Many thanks go to kingfisher_au for creating all these containers and placing them along this road, which was not overly busy on this public holiday Monday.
Found this series along with goingplaces2 and enjoyed each find. All logs were signed with two names or initials. Thank you for a well constructed series. This was an enjoyable run. TFTC.
After finishing the Dogs Head earlier in the day, we were still in high caching spirits, so continued on to tackle some other great caches and trails in the area!!!
Caching today as part of team Capital Crunchers (fitzy_1965, minniek, specimenX, Nibletricecakes, Joolay and Roostaman) on our Maitland long weekend adventure. So glad we made the trek it has been truly delightful! As an added bonus we all hit a milestone (mine being 3000) AND racked up the most number of finds we have ever found in a day!! 310! An all round epic adventure. Thanks so much everyone!!

Headed to the Maitland area with fitzy_1965 & SpecimenX for an extra long weekend of caching.
Day 2 saw us joined by nibletricecakes, Joolay & even Roostaman (who happened to be staying in the same campground as us by chance). Dogs Head Trail was our main aim with others collected along the way.
With the big trail all finished, we pushed on to see if we could get over 300 for the day. All puzzles that we found were pre-solved before heading to the area.
All caches where found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. Logs were either signed or stamped as Capital Crunchers, CC, Kapital Krunchers or KK.

This was such a fun series. Totally recommend it. You never know what is around the corner.
Up in Maitland with Nibletricecakes, Fitzy1965, MinnieK and Specimen X, to do the Dogs Head. We will go by the name of Capital Crunchers. We had solved quite a few of the puzzles before coming up and after doing the Dogs Head started on some of the others around the area. This trail is included in the list of to do's.
Our logs are signed CC, Capital Crunchers or stamped depending who wrote them.
Thanks for the effort in creating these trails and maintaining them.

After finishing the Dog's Head and Road to Wollombi Trails we headed along to do the R&D on the Road to Kurri Kurri Trail. Once again this was an amazing trail to do with some fantastic containers. All were found in great condition, signed and replaced.
Thanks kingfisher_au !! We really appreciate you putting out and maintaining these caches.
