We have come across some similar puzzles to this one before, and with some experience from them (often painful) we have learned a bit and while it took us a while to open it was not as long as it often can be. Past experience sees us manage to put them back together much quicker than we have before.A favourite from us for the effort gone into the cache. The weather this morning was not looking great, cloudy and overcast after some rain overnight but we decided to head out anyway down to Kurri Kurri to check out the murals. We took the loop route caching as we went before spending time in Kurri to look around, complete a Lab and have some great local fish and chips before heading back the more direct but busier way.We came across some great 3D printed cache containers and a couple of innovative ones as well, also completing a multi. We managed to dodge the rain and had a good day out.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache kingfisher_au.**SKI Pair****
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Today we moved from Morisset to Maitland. Once we dropped off the van and had some lunch it was off to try and complete the Map of Tasmania. Boy was it hard work with multiple DNF's at the start, we were even doubting our caching mojo after a while. Mr F wasn't a happy driver as the roads were very busy, glad it was the weekend, assuming it's busier on weekdays[?]Got home at sunset with only 1 left to tackle tomorrow. It's a shame cachers seem hesitant to log needs maintenance and DNF's both of which help Cache owner keep on top of pending maitenance.TFTC kingfisher_au
Wow what a day out caching for the first time with KAZ444 we had a great day and made over 20 finds. We finished with a wine at Kurri Kurri Bowlo. All in all it was a great day and we will repeat.
Found on a weekend away with the hubby in Hunter Valley. We stayed up in North Rothbury which is quiet and comfortable. Then headed towards Kurri Kurri on our last day before heading home to look at the murals there. Took me a little while to work out how to open, but happy to have got there. Never found a container like this. Was quite impressed and enjoyed getting it open ( though a bit frustrating at first).FP from me.
Nice container. Took a little bit of time to unlock even though it wasnt completely closed. Signed log managed to get put container back together but could not get completely down also. Replaced as found. TFTC
Found it!Oh no, a field puzzle! These can be very tricky. Fortunately it only took a couple of minutes to open the container. The lid had not been completely on when I found it and I could not get it into a tight fit when I replaced it. There was some water inside, but it may be condensation after the extreme heat this month. The log in the zip lock bag was dry.Nice container!TFTC # 5815
#10279 (7 of 11 today - including 2 Adventure Labs)I was after some calendar finds today and had decided a few days ago that a trip north would be just the ticket. There are still a number of caches to snaffle around Kurri Kurri so thought to make that my target. And then the weather decided to have a say. But when I looked on the BOM Radar, Kurri Kurri was a few kilometres north of the rain band. I just need to get there. The rain as I approached the Mooney Mooney Bridge was horrific! And the traffic slowed as I went past a jackknifed semi - must have got there only a few minutes after it happened as there was no sign of any emergency vehicles. Finally I reached my target, and had pleasant weather for the whole of my caching day. Perfect.Well it would have been if not for a number of DNFs I racked up on a P&G powertrail.###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###I do enjoy these, even though some infuriate me at the time. But I have a method, and it got me to the log after a minute of two.Added my ink to the log, replaced and away to my last unattempted cache in the series.Gets a favourite for the container.SLTNLN TFTC
Staying the weekend camping in the Watagans, we went out on the Saturday to find some caches, when we stumbled over this series. We decided to do the whole series, even though we started from the end.The muggle dog across the road did not like us being there, but we persisted. We also struggled a bit to open up the cache, which was another one well done.
Found with MummyPenny. This proved to be good practice for a tricky blue box we came across later. Thanks kingfisher_au.
We are heading up the coast to avoid the coldest of the winter weather in Victoria.
Out grabbing a few of this series while we are staying in the area.
The great container was found but then took a lot long to access. Given a fav for something very different.
Thanks kingfisher_au for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

Another great cache to check out on our travels. Thanks for the hours of work that went in, we will have to come back another time to finish the rest of the series!
This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 12450.
I was out today trying to find a few caches to help me along the way to this months challenge. It had been a while since I’d been out this way and I made my way long between storms.
Thanks kingfisher_au for the cache.

Some field puzzles really frustrate me, but thankfully this one was only one maze and not 3 sleeves of mazes inside each other!! Solved while admiring the mural across the road. Thanks for a fun cache, deserving of a FP
Loved this cache, a little puzzle in the bush. Found with Steam koala while going out for some smilies.

Found with My Dad (DJANT) and my Brothers (dart16 & Jedi Anakin) I have my own account now and am trying to catch up to the boys Thanks for the cache.
Well 2020 has been a relatively slow year on the caching front due to COVID-19. If it wasn't for that it would have been a trip to the USA and Geocaching's 20th year celebrations.
However the crew got back together and The Rats, Hoojar and I teamed up for a few days caching up around the Hunter area. First it was to finish off some of the older OZGM series caches then up into the Watagans for more. Most of Saturday was spent tackling the great Dogs Head Trail then on Sunday it was down into Newcastle city for some great caches.
This was another find on our trip.

COVID has really put a dampener on this year’s caching ability, but it hasn't stopped my enthusiasm to get out and find a cache whenever possible. So, it was with excitement that I was keen to catch up with Steeba and Hoojar for our first caching weekend of the year.
We targeted a number of powertrails in the Central Coast and Hunter region over our 3-day caching frenzy. The weekend threw up a bit of everything, including a plethora of finds, mountain bush bashing, coastal caching, weather that varied from beautiful to bizarre, sleeping under the stars, some close calls with the flora and fauna, lovely local hospitality and most of all, a great time away with my mates”.
Thanks to all the C.O’s for placing and maintaining their caches for us to find. Apologises for the generic log but with so many finds I couldn’t personalise every one of them.
Saturday dawned early with spectacular views from MacLeans lookout and a few nearby caches, one of these include my 19000th find. From here we headed south deep into the Watagans where we completed the LMHS trail. Our day concluded with a few caches around Kurri. Thanks

With restrictions starting to ease in our Covid World, it was decided that 2020 caching really need to kick up a gear, and so a plan was set in motion for The Rats, Steeba and myself to head to the Newcastle and Hunter region. There were a few trails, power trails, and Lab Caches that would be hitting our radars, along with a milestone for The Rats. We headed off on Thursday evening and turned for jome on Sunday afternoon. A wonderful long weekend was had, and our cache finds topped 450 for the trip. All in all it was a great success.
The caches were excellent. Some indeed were amazing, and favourite points have been awarded. The company, as always, was faultless. The weather was varied. We had sun, rain, wind, colder, warm, more wind... A bit of everything! We managed to find a few nice spots to camp, and enjoyed the company of Big Matt and Marcus Vitruvius for dinner at a local establishment on Saturday evening.
Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Thank you to all cache owners for their hides.
Cheers

The effort gone into creating this one is amazing. Space for the pencil and log... wow.
I joined a trip to Maitland with Aquilus1, dty73, Tankengine, Barb2e, Kitty Katch & Joolay. The weekends main game was to do the dogs head series, but along the way we did some old caches around Sydney and did as many Maitland caches as time allowed. The return journey was via some old caches and some challenges that may or may not be met one day.
Day 2 was the dogs head series and three other series around Kurri Kurri. The R&D caches and many other Maitland caches are absolutely fantastic containers showing great creativity with new tools.

A four day caching trip up around Maitland collecting a number of caches of interest to suit everyone along for the fun. A lovely area, very scenic, green and lots of historic locations. Also some great caching to be done while in the area as well as on our way there and home.
The 'Dogs head' was a main focus of the trip, and took us the the best part of the day along with a few smaller trails and a few as we passed but a lovely scenic area to spend the day in. Most caches were straight forward finds, a few took a little search and others are great 3D printed designs or LARGE! Great trail through a great area, thanks for the cache kingfisher_au.
