Just heading north with nothing else much to do on a rainy day so just a quick stop
On holiday with busy paws and we are caching on our way to Motueka. It's definitely easier going this way. Thanks for this cache Sidewaze.
Collecting a few more 'minute' caches. Another trip up to Nelson then Blenheim for the night for work.
Quickly located it in the obvious spot, nice! Now to continue with my journey...
TFTC Sidewaze, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 4 today, making this find #4231

We are not stopping very often today as the weather is wet!! We haven't ventured on this road before. It's great to have a good hint when looking in the rain. Thanks for bringing us here
It was so good to find a Cache where there was plenty of room to park with our wee Caravan on the back on the back of the truck.TFTH

Driving back to Christchurch (to fly back to Canberra), I made a few stops to grab specific caches needed to help qualify for some challenges. Cache easily found. TFTC.

11,139. I have been in Nelson for the past 2 days. Today we are driving to Christchurch via Lewis Pass. We stopped here on the way south to do this cache. We parked across the road in the flat area of grass and walked to GZ. Glad we didn't have to ascend to the underpass. The cache was spotted in the first place checked. All good here. We signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks Sidewaze for the cache.
Nice to have somewhere easy to pull over as we travel in a bus. Nice easy find and great view TFTC.
Found with NZDi. We are heading to the Wet Coast on a trip to help support the Hokitika and Franz Josef post-Covid lockdown tourism industry. The package includes a nights accommodation in Hokitika and Franz Josef, entry to the West Coast Tree Top Walk and the Franz Josef Wildlife Centre as well as a helicopter flight over the Franz Josef Glacier all for $299 per person. We had two glitches on our trip, the first was when we were turned back at O'Sullivans bridge due to a slip at Lyell. The second was going into Level 4 lockdown at midnight tonight cutting our trip short. The slip at Lyell wasn't much of a drama, as we detoured through Springs Junction causing a 30 minute addition to our travelling time.
Our main caching target for this trip was to gather enough metres to climb Puncak Jaya in the GCHQ Reach the Peak Challenge.
When we got to O'Sullivans bridge just south of Murchison, we were told of a slip blocking the road at Lyell, so rather than waiting for it to be cleared, we took a detour via SH 65 and SH7 which should only take half an hour longer. Not having cached much of this route we selected three caches to do on the way and this was one of them.
Follwing the hint, I checked out the obvious place first and was rewarded with an instant QEF PnG.

Found with StreetWalkerNZ en route from Christchurch to Nelson.
Good parking going north and a good viewpoint of the underpass, which was not being used while we were there.
Cache was a quick find, which was good as it was a bit drizzly at the time, now time to swap drivers. TFTC.

A quick find. Took me a bit to figure out where the clip clop was going then realised there was an underpass. Slow learner, huh, since it was in the title! I noticed quite a few after that. Must have been end of milking time. Tftc. #6756
Was pleased to hope out of the car for two minutes on the long drive from Nelson to Christchurch.
Travelling home from a wonderful few days walking the St James Walkway - a definite recommendation for those who like a straightforward multi-day tramp.
It's not an afternoon to linger long and I'm pleased I finished walking before the rain started.
I was up to size and did not need to 'pass' on this find.
Thanks Sidewaze

Found on my geocaching road trip on the way to Canterbury Faire. With scattered showers, I passed over some caches, but Hopefully I'll get them on the way back
Family holiday time...a couple nights Kaikoura, a couple Picton & finish off in Nelson.....
Kaikoura and Picton done.....and Richmond done...time to head for home. Roads pretty busy so don't really want to stop - easier and faster to keep with the flow! So this was the only cache of the drive home to Christchurch. Ah well; there is always 'next time"....

Almost 12 months ago, 15th Jan 2020, we were heading to Nelson to visit Grandchildren, and found a few caches. Lost the book, now after tidying my desk, there it was all the time! So finally logging. TFTC
Quick find here. No problems at all. TFTC Sidewaze.
Driving home to the top of the south after spending almost a week in Christchurch. We decided to get some caches on the trip home as we had time up our sleeves, and our caching finds in Christchurch were a bit skinny. So we just looked at ones on our side of the road going north, and that did not require too much effort getting off the main drag. Good fun. Thanks all.

That is a tiny underpass! Normally I'm zooming past here with no time to stop but today I fixed that. Thanks Sidewaze, your cache is in good condition.
The reason fo the name was clear as we arrived at the cache area. Then a quick find whe we followed the GPS. First cache as we headed to Hanmer Springs to meet the CO and others - for non caching reasons.
Thanks.
Thanks.
glad to have good parking room , towing. Easy found, cache nice and dry. Thanks Sidewaze
Visiting the South Island as the grown up kids are on Uni holidays. Heading up to Nelson today collecting some caches on the way. Wonderful sunny day although cold and frosty to start with. Trying hard to contribute to domestic tourism post Covid.
First time over Lewis Pass. Loved the scenery with all the snow capped mountains. Cache all fine. TFTC

Checked on this cache when I was passing this afternoon for the CO. No need for the replacement I had with me - the cache was sitting there right where its supposed to be waiting for the next cacher to visit.
I disabled my caches during Level 4 lockdown to encourage everyone to do the right thing. Now we’re moving to Level 3 I’m going to leave the decision to search for a cache or not to each individual. Remember you still need to stay in your bubble and a bit of hand sanitiser before and after handling a cache would be appropriate. Keep yourself and others safe.
PLEASE, stay safe and keep others safe by observing the rules.
Remember all things must pass - - - and that includes the upheaval caused by Covid-19.

**Found on our February - March tour around the South Island. Logging back home in Auckland in Lockdown isolation**
Travelling today from Hanmer Springs to St Arnaud finding a few caches along the way. Travelling north so had an easy stop. Loved the humour of the cache name. Thanks.

Found while returning home to Blenheim after a weekend in Hanmer. Beaut day today for a few stops. TFTC
Quick find - so glad that it wasn't in the underpass !!! Found on a trip with my husband Stretch0 heading home to Motueka after a trip down south - Thanks for the cache
A quick stop fr this one and it was real quick as i nearly sailed past. The find didnt take long and soon cache was returned and we were on our way again . Thanks for the cache.
I always remember as a kid wondering if you drove down the farm track really quickly, if you could "overtake" a car on the road. Probably not. Cheers
Parked the camper van easily here. JDScout and I are on a campervan holiday from Christchurch to Collingwood to Havelock and back home to Christchurch. Geocaching is on my agenda. We both like biking and walking too. Thanks Sidewaze for placing this geocache it is find 8079 for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Make my wall back down to oamaru, from Blemhiem, taking the long way of coruse grabbing the odd cache here an there. Many thanks to all the cache placers. -Bitsprayer
We sussed out this hide on the way to Christchurch on Friday night so that we could make an instant find on our way home. After a fun but very cold weekend in Christchurch we stayed there long enough so as to time our passing of this one in the early hours of this morning. There were only a few vehicles on the road at that time of the morning so we did not have anyone else to think about as noone passed while we were there.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Day 4 of a 4 day road trip. My mission on this trip was to travel South and West and then East and North. This road trip was all about the numbers but not quite in the usual way. In fact it was hours and hours spent on the road in search of minutes (and caches). I'm filling in gaps in my 'minutes' found across New Zealand in order to complete the 400 minutes challenge for the cache GC7YQZ8 - at the start of this trip I had a 52 minute gap to fill. My last cache for today and for this whole road trip. Time to push on home to Nelson. What was amazing was that as I came over the Hope Saddle, I could smell the smoke from the fire in Pigeon Valley. It was very strange and eerie driving through what must have been smog, smoke and cloud and fog all mixed up and hanging around the trees. Anyway, TFTC, Biggles.
A quick and easy find. Cheers
We are on an extented Waitangi Weekend cruising around the Coast. Today we drove through to Hanmer Springs, via the Upper Buller gorge. Weather is more overcast today, but still great for touring and caching.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

With a few cache's along the way.
Co navigator (pdaddy94)had to have a smoke so we pulled up and grabbed the cache. Tftc

Despite having a list with several options on it this was the only cache that I ended up having time for today. I was last in a long line of vehicles ( and had been for a while) following a green juicy van that seemed oblivious to that fact. So when there was nothing coing in the other direction I happily turned and stopped here which was a great way to ease my frustration. TFTC # 13,258
There was no way were stopping for this cache on the way to Christchurch in heavy rain but different story on the way home. Left a TB. Thanks Sidewaze

Paddle chick and I were heading back home after spending the weekend in Christchurch as it was my grandsons 12th birthday. Thanks for this cache Sidewaze
A bit of a mad dash to Nelson for the day, to take a car up and fly back home (complicated story) and this was the 1st cache I stopped for on the way. I didn’t realise it was so new !
Thanks for this cache, Sidewaze.
Thanks for this cache, Sidewaze.
Holymu: Yes, it's a family name. I taught a family member some years ago and we talked about the farm. I have no idea if it's still in the family.
FTF With Holymu. On our way home from the Coast we have been known to make detours that substantially increased our carbon footprint. There were two reasons today so we made two detours It transpired we snug in with little time to spare. I liked both the hint and name of the cache. A fav. Thank you Sidewaze
FTF with Hazedarus at midday.
We were on the way home from the Coast and would normally come up through Inangahua but since this was published Sunday night it made sense to change our route and come home the longer way. We thought we had a good chance of FTF (sorry bullertrout) but wouldn't have been surprised to see it already claimed with so much passing traffic.
If the signage is to be believed it is definitely undersized, how are these names derived? A family name perhaps?
Thank you Sidewaze.

Found on way home from a family event down south. Thought I had a chance of a ftf but was beaten to it by a couple of hours
