Spent about 15 minutes looking high and low and couldnt find it - started to rain so couldnt stay much longer but will try again when the weather decides to be on our side
School holidays and time for a road trip to Auckland to visit family. Todays mission was to find 11 different types of caches. We organised an event and a CITO in Cornwall Park to help with the numbers. Woke up early and headed out West to collect this traditional. Thanks for this smiley
Hint gave it away that the GPS was slightly out and pointed us in the right direction. From there is was a reach around until finding the right slot..

Find #196
GPS had me in the middle of the grass but I didn’t let that derail me. TFTC

Took a wee while... actually put hand on it but didn't realise it...5 mins later touched it again and realized I found it.
We were on our way to have breakfast nearby and were a bit early so stopped off to look for this cache.
It was a perfect time to search as there was no one around and we made a nice quick find.
This looks like a nice reserve, we will be back sometime to explore it further.

Great hiding spot! No pen to write names unfortunately. Will have to come back
Love this type of caeche and a seat is always handy when filling in a log. TFTC
Checked on this and found the lid and log missing. I was about to leave and disable the cache but then found the lid on the ground under one of the seats so reunited it with the bottom, added a new log and it’s back in place all good to go.
Found something matching the hint, in the right location, but no log. Guessing this must be the cache, so logging as found. TFTC
First geocach I've found in a while. Found quickly after DNFs on the other two in the park. TFTC.

Ran out of time bummer i couldn't find it, kept leading me back to a tree (nothing to do with magnetic) overall good day of caching while son played soccer.
Nice quick find here and hounds got to socialise on the walk across the field to get here. Tftc
GPS led us to the middle of the patch of grass. Hint took us to the building. @G3NI3 found it straight away for us
Keylev and I were on a mission to really crank up the numbers today. So better get to it!
This was a fun one. We ended up not being sure as the GPS was all over the place. Since the hint suggested being magnetic, there could really be a few places, but not close to the GZ. I wondered over to where a couple of muggles were enjoying a beer and one of them asked me what I was doing as he's seen other people do the same!
I eventually found the cache and he said "Oh, I knew it was there but just wanted to see what would happen!" lol! that guy...

There were groundsmen all around as I approached but fare enough away to be unseen by my searching. Soon had this one in hand after GPS settled and replaced after signing in.
Passing by this park and noted the cluster of caches that were placed by a friend who has helped me many times with solves whilst I've been living here, thank you. Parked up and walked the loop to snag and tag all four caches, nice area to stretch the legs here. Cheers Merlot58.
So, my time living in the area is rapidly coming to a conclusion and I move South in a couple of weeks time back to the Manawatu region, though have plans to head back here periodically to visit and explore, once more. After my work chores were done for the day I headed out once more and my targets were a few solved puzzles out Blockhouse Bay/'nearby' areas. Once upon a time I had hopes to get my Project-GC puzzle badge up to diamond and have been chipping away steadily, another 6 for the haul today. Once again some good finds and big thanks to all COs for their hides.

As luck would have it NZTravellers, B4Dawn and I realised that all our other work and social commitments aligned to give us some free time this week so what better way to put this to use then some afternoon / evening / night caching the WHOLE week!!! This is day 3 so by now the early work starts so that we could finish early and have more afternoon caching time was kicking in but we were not going to let that stop us. Unfortunately both of the NZTs had to pull out of the adventures so it meant only B4Dawn and I were on the caching hunt tonight.
Got to GZ and headed to what I thought was an obvious spot but nope....B4Dawn had headed in the other direction and soon got chatting to 2 muggles who were sitting in beach chairs chilling under the canopy. Whilst I continued in al the wrong spots he made the find whilst still chatting to them as they had asked what we were doing. As we were signing the log they said 'oh we knew where it was all the time as we have seen people here before putting their hands up pipes and looking high and low - its fun'.....they thought it was cool that we have a hobby that gets us out the house and exploring.....they must have a right laugh about how long it takes people to find this one and all of our antics.
Thanks for the cache.

Did not have a magnet at the time but luckily it was able to be pulled out with fingers. As others have mentioned, the GPS is a little off but still quite close. Thanks for providing some New Years fun!
My partner and I found this pretty awesome cache after a lot of searching. The location on the map is off by about four metres. The hint was awesome though and made total sense.

Nice quick find but had to put my super sleuth on as there were people hanging around...with Sportynz
Found it awhile ago, haven’t had a chance to log it until now. This one was quite cunning.
A plan was hatched to try and find as many different combinations on the D/T grid that we could in one day. A route was planned and planned again a number of times. It has been months in the planning but today it was coming to fruition.
I left Hamilton at 4.45am and met up with ABCDF4 and eyespyben in Huntly before arriving at our first cache at 7am. It was a long and tiring day with the last cache found as darkness set in. And after a celebratory dinner at McDonalds I got home at 11.00pm.
My calculations is that we achieved 47 with only 2 DNFs. Thank you to all the cache owners.
Nice quick find here today. Thank you for the placement.

We had talked about this personal challenge, D/T Grid for sometime, so decided to attack on long weekend ( Waitangi),EyeSpy first up at 4.30am,so time to rise as KGD will be here soon and left Huntly for our first cache in Ak at 7am. Lota of laughs, plenty of U turns, tree climbing, muddy gumboots, very steep climbs and plenty of Kms travelled. Our total over the period was 47 different D/T ratings and only 2 dnfs. Thanks to all the Cos for a great day in the Supa City and KGD for his organisation skills. Usual obvious place.

Was out and about with Ryan this morning and the weather determined which caches we would stop for without getting too wet. This was a nice easy quick park and grab. TFTC
I thought I was going to be thwarted by a couple of muggles doing physical exercises right near where I thought I was going to have to search. Luckily, they packed up and left so I had the place to myself. I soon found the nicely hidden container. I enjoyed my stroll around the BBRR. Thanks, merlot58.
Had been over here to claim a recent puzzle solve. After a quick bite at the local Melba we thought a few more caches before heading home were in order.
Noted this park had a little mini series in it so thought this would just fit the bill.
A quick easy find.

Yay! Found. Needed a few more steps today and this one is nice and close to home. Didn't have a pen so will need to sign next time I'm out. KLR
Found while on a trip north with tmann421.

Owing to a small minority not observing the lockdown for Covid-19, I am disabling my caches until we are through the other side
Took some thinking, but after reading some posts, found it in a very logical place.
