Logs
As the summer months come to an end, and with daylight savings ending for us real soon, it's time for an extended weekend trip to Rotorua (from Wellington). Lots of activities are on the agenda, and geocaching is one of them. I had several specific caches marked to find on this trip, some to meet specific requirements, some were such fun puzzle solves that I just had to come and sign the log, and are some just because. This cache is one of them.
GPS lead me straight to it here Safe and dry.
Thanks to Mc Jandals for placing this cache here.

Nice little find off the track. Thanks to the person who left a pencil as we left the pen in the ute.
Thankful for the hint on this one, else I think we would have gotten lost. It’s a good distance from the track. Thanks for the hide.

Further along the track, not a bad trail, should actually go for a run up here to the top North South track, at least most of the caches will be ticked off by then or it wont be much of a run
Mrs Geckoh left me to it from here onwards to the next one while she went back to look for the puzzle one.

A nice day to find this cache, nice and cool under the tree canopy. Not too hard of a walk to get this one, will be nice during summer.
Not the best weather today for the heavy thunderstorms . Another fantastic hide Thanks
Great walk even tho gps had me walking around in circles for a bit. Up here at lodge with a group for a couple of days. Lovely time away. Thanks for the cache
We had a lovely day out kayaking and then walking the Ngamuwahine Track. The hint was spot on and quite specific, so the cache was quickly found. TFTC
We found the clue very helpful for this one. Once again our GPS led us right to the right spot and was a quick find. Always expect a bit of bouncing around in the bush. Thanks for the hide
New Year’s Day: A solo effort today... My brother is a cleaner. His best days are public holidays because most businesses are closed. He is able to do his job without having to factor in customers. I asked to be dropped off at Ngamuwahine while he went to work. I had no idea how long either of us were going to take...
I tend to be a bit dismissive when relying on my iPhone gps when under tree cover. Again, it was swinging all over the place. I was within 15 metres of ground zone, so put the phone away and navigated by sight. I spotted a good host on the periphery, but that didn’t match the hint. I looked up and figured where I needed to go. The cache was visible - it’s been a few months since it was last found. Thanks McJandals and TFTC.

Easy find while tramping the Ngamuwahine onto the Leyland O'Brienhad lunch on the banks of a stream returned via Bobs loop which was a bit more up and down, while crossing one stream found pockets of hail (snow) which had not melted away we were on the edge of light hail earlier in the morning, cache in good order.
Found 2.30pm
Spotted laying out in the open a bit. Signed and returned under cover. SLTFTC

The gps was pretty much spot on then little one spotted it very quickly. Then little one shouted found it before Mr and Mrs even made it to GZ, thanks Mc Jandals for this cache.

Find number 5559. On a walk with Boges. We wanted to clear the track of the caches. It is a nice track to walk and I had not done it before. Thankfully this cache was quickly found and signed. We were about to head back but our GPS told us there was another further up. So on we went. Thank you for the placement.
In January I had surgery so I wanted somewhere flat to go to see how I went. I called KGD to see if was available and he was so off we went. The weather was fine but with a strong SouWest blowing and track not too wet tftc
We had both been eyeing up the new caches around Ngamuwahine Track since they were published, but with the walk being to short for a day mission hiking and a little two long for a quick find a short mission is what was called for.
Found this cache on the way back from Ngamuwahine Track cache. GPS was a bit out for us but the clue put us in the right spot to claim the find. Nice container too.

Heading out with HKCB for a few caches up in the Kaimai's to mark the start of the official start to winter (in our minds at least there are only two seasons, daylight savings, not daylight savings). We left early in the hopes of keeping in the good books with our respective wives, cause you never want to piss them off.
Have been meaning to grab this one for some time but as usual the time was never quite right, hence it being published for so long. So plans were made and finally we were going to knock the ones along here off. On the drive in we were fortunate to see a nice little hind standing on the raod. We saw it, it saw us and just stood there, but of course by the time I got the camara out it had decieded to bugger off.
Arrived at the parking coordinates and headed up the track, with slightly cooler mornings and a good track we made most excellent time and it wasn't long. was glad to be crossing the streams after so little rain and then soon had the cache in hand. We had decieded to grab these caches along here on the return so we had something to look forward too.
Thanks for the placement and short walk.

Walked on past, we must have been walking faster than we thought. Grabbed a tag, will log that when we get home
This one was a quick find as it was partially uncovered and just happened to glisten in the sun light. Don't expect it to be so easy for the next geocachers haha. Cheers Mc Jandals, TFTC

A day off and a nice place to visit before I clean the car. This one was easier than the first to find and glad I made the right approach. Lovely bush and a lovely walk even in Jandals TFTC
Did my duty then nipped off to blow off some steam. Very humid here today even though it's not as hot as recently. Nicely hidden cache though not too long a search needed. TFTC.
So on wards and up wards in our Sunday best ...by this time the dress shoes are full of leaves and a tad uncomfortable...as I zeroed in on GZ I summed up the various approaches and thought this is the way the CO would go KL took the low steep road I came in past the men’s room and walla we both spyed the all but glistening cache at the same time ...thanks McJandels for another great cache and well Done DC most people would have signed and taken the glory ...so much appreciated you are a gentleman you even left the TB ...thanks

Found by accident yesterday while using the nearby mens room. As the cache hadnt been published I signed back of log sheet so I wouldn't upset the FTF hounds who should be at home cooking dinner for the CO .I see that there are a couple of other new caches as well so will be back at some stage. Congratulations on your Joint FTF Kahluis and Mcwatt.
{FTF} Joint. Up and up thinking about lunch sitting in the van un-eaten, and the visitors coming tonight which I haven't prepared for . The sacrifices for an FTF!! This one was no trouble to find and GPS led me straight to it. What a beautiful area up here, but surprisingly very warm in the shade - no respite!
Thanks for bringing us here and another great cache Mcjandals.
