On the face of it, this was a regulation find but I was happy to get my hands on another large sized, nicely hidden container. The sign meant nothing to me but I have since seen information in the cache description that has helped me out. As a child, I was an avid reader (still am, really) but the Pooh series of books didn't make it my way for some reason.
Staying nearby so went exploring this reserve after dinner. Nice change to find these large caches. Tftc
We visited Pooh Bear in his large home. It is well protected from the other animals and humans, especially those on mountain bikes.
Met a young dog walker who was interested in geocaching. Wanted to know if we were responsible for the piles of torn paper she had seen around -we weren’t.
After caching in the countryside south of Bell Block yesterday we are finding a few caches before we head back to PN.
Out and about with LNM1961 revisiting Taranaki and collecting caches.

Pooh bear was a favourite character of mine in my childhood, so I was pleased to be able to find his house here, and he able to add my name to his log.

I walked the bike from the zig zag intersection to here but was then able to ride out to meet Ms M at the next intersection.
It had to be at the base of one of these big trees and it was. Another lovely big container. A.A. Milne’s books were a childhood favourite of mine. I still have my copy of a house at Pooh corner.
Thanks for all the time, energy and expense you have spent in creating this series. Much appreciated. +FP

This one gave me some trouble. Lost internet coverage and GPS was all over the place. Had me way off. When it finally settle down the find was made. Tftc.
We went for a walk with Granny and Koro and found this Pooh's House cache. It was fun. Thank you for the cache.
Initially we went too far off the track clambering over the large cut down tree. On our return to the main track we saw something that caught our attention and then spotted the large cache. Loved the well themed log. TFTC
Hah the last one to be found in the 100 Ar wood, so a wee walk with the geohound and a mate while visiting above the dam, surprisingly rough track but not too muddy. GZ was interesting, a big circuit of felled or windblown trees looking for the obvious signed. Finally sweeping back to the main path and there is the sign with the cache nearby. All good and dry TNLN TFTC BB..
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on ANZAC day, our last full day in New Plymouth.
The track was a bit gnarly in places on this side of the loop, so surprised that the terrain rating is so low. Finally got to GZ and the cache was quickly found.
Swapped the milk bottle TB in the cache for a beer bottle opener - I think Pooh bear needs something stronger to drink. TFTC

#21025. Heading back to the car now on an interesting track. Quick find here. TFTC.
What a treat to have so many large sized containers in such a small area. They are few and far between in our neck of the woods.
I spotted the hiding place for this one as I approached the area, it was perhaps a little more tricky to get to than what it use to be with the vines lying at the entrance. I usually break my fingernails when opening this type of container but I am pleased to say they are all still connected.
Another large container with lots of bits and pieces for the kids to trade, I can just imagine little kids faces and excitement when they find these caches.
We are in the North Island to try to complete the PWGT Tahi section so we are having to head to the far north. Along the way we will pick up a few other caches that take our interest such as those with lots of favourites or size large or letterbox caches or some that will just help us to fulfil some of the various challenges we are working on.
With the new souvenir challenge we need to use the app to log the finds, but as I like to waffle on and write my stories on my laptop I am writing these while back at the campervan.
Thank you for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

A relatively quick find, though a little difficult to get to due to fallen trees in the area. We loved the sign. We saw a TB in the cache but left it for someone else to move on. TFTC Phronimos.
Clomp, clomp we came with our big boots on, but they were not much help because they seemed to take us around in a circle. We were about to put our head in our hands, when sure enough, there was a sign. A sign that we had been hoping to find. We joyfully report that Pooh's house is all good. Earns a fave from us. Our #4997. TFTC
Stumbled about cursing gps reception under tree canopy’s until I practically stumbled over the cache.
Was worried this one had been taken out by falling trees but all good. I do so like honey

Visiting New Plymouth for the weekend. Nice sunny day to be out caching. Enjoyed this walkway particularly with all the memories of Pooh bear and his friends. Cache and log all fine. Great to have a few large caches together. Happy to add to the favourites. Thanks phronimos for getting me out here.
ANZAC weekend in Taranaki. Focused on Adventure Labs and also whatever will be handy. This hide was one of them.
I like the size of it!

Off on the hunt. This time scared some muggles as I was behind a big tree. Like I was hiding. And they stopped as if I was going to jump out and mug a muggle. Good size cache again TFTC
Down in Taranaki for an extended weekend and taking some time on a drizzly morning to find a few caches instead of heading up to Pouakai Hut, which was the original plan. We had a lovely walk around the Huatoki walkway, picking up yellow smileys and enjoying the bush! TFTC
Nice big cache, cute signage. Left a wee giraffe to join the hunny party. Thanks for the cache!
Another great spot, the dog is enjoying the outing too. A bit of mud on the track which always keeps him happy TFTC

#12,164. A good short walk in the Huatoki Domain from Huatoki Street in New Plymouth. GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a short circling around. When the GPS reading settled, it was indicating 2 metres – so all good. The cache was in good condition. Although the logbook was a little damp, it was all right to write on. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and …

Thanks Phronimos for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
We soon had another good cache located.
*No problem, short search - good large container. Loved the walk around.!*

EtherLady and I are on our way to New Plymouth for a weekend away.
We've thrown the EtherKids out at my parents' place in Wanganui, and now we've arrived in the 'Naki!
Actually, today is go-home-day, and wouldn't you know it... the weather has finally decided to play ball! Typical [B)]
At an event in the Horowhenua a few days ago, I was chatting with the CO about a nearby challenge cache and mentioned that I was missing two Large sized caches to qualify for the cache. Having already said earlier in the event that we were heading towards New Plymouth straight afterwards, the CO mentioned that this series of caches hosted a couple of large sized containers that would assist my qualification.
This immediately put them to the top of my to-do list for the trip! (well, ok, second-to-top of my to-do list )
This cache was my second of such. Yay!
After packing up our gear at the accommodation in preparation of departure, we headed to the parking coords and started the hike.
@WonderfulWifey is starting to get a bit over it now, but as we're basically half way round the look, there's not much she can do about it...
As a Pooh fan, this cache definitely helped soften her feelings, which also lifted my spirits. What a good sized container!

-sandwich bag of kinetic sand that looked like it would spill through the container the next time it got poked by the pencil...

Mr rattll wanted to pick something up in New Plymouth, which wouldn't take long, so what to do with the rest of the day?
We had a bit of an issue with the GPS under the tree's today. Having got to about 5mts we looked around and tried a few likely spots but then realised the GPS had changed to about 30mts. It was jumping around a lot, so actually pin pointing GZ took quite a while, but the size of the cache meant it was easily spotted once once at GZ.
Nice to have so many larger caches to find today.
We left a pet rock - a lion.
Thanks for another nice hide Phronimos

Great area. Nice walk with dog and kids. Coordinates are pinging in different places making us really search for it.
Today was dot day so I picked a good cache and as it turned out there was what looked like a good little walk with a few more caches near by. It ended up being a six cache mission of three types that took about ninety minutes and 5000 steps.
This was the second cache for today. I spotted about five likely locations for the cache and it happened to be at the first one I tried. Like the last cache people appeared just as I was leaving.

A quick easy find at Pooh Bear's cutely labelled house and a favourite from us. TFTC
I loved the theme of this set of caches in the 100 Acre woods!. nicely sign posted just as Pooh would have done! as well as all the caches being a regular size or large ! for those ideas they all deserve a fav point from me i am up in New plymouth for a week attempting to put smiley faces on the caches i did not have or had solved but not located ot those that just seemed to elude me!
luckily with help of the two wonderful 'gentlemen' -local Geo cachers i have been able to knock all these cache of and put smiley faces to them all!.
thank you for this lovely walk in the 100 acre woods! I will post some photos later!

Very good hiding spot. We did hear a bee/wasp nest further up the track. Thanks fo the cache
Taybeedragon and I are enjoying this walk through the 100 Aker Wood. Nice to see a theme running through here. I debated the sign here - Sanders or Saunders? I had to look it up. The CO is right, I was wrong. Coords 16m out here. Not surprising under all these trees. More likely it is my GPS that was not happy about not being able to see the sky.
Day thirteen of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today is wandering about New Plymouth. It's Christmas! Merry Happy Birthday everyone!!
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* Lots of cache maintenance!

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](https://coord.info/GC87777) - you won't want to miss it!

Merry Christmas. Loving walking around 100 Aker Wood. Just had to visit Poo while we were in the vicinity. Left a calling card. Cheers. Another wonderful tree here.
Day 13- Merry Christmas, Wednesday 25 December. Around New Plymouth again today.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.
