Found this while on a day jaunt getting away from the rain & easterlies on the coast. Much nicer inland! Decided to return, & camped only 200m away in the bus; be rude not to find this one! We actually got so distracted reading signs & mushroom spotting, that totally forgot about the cache, so had to loop around a 2nd time to get it . TFTC !

We're waiting to leave for Australia on our boat. Time to kill so next adventure was to head to this forest. Nice easy find, although slightly cleverly hidden. But a good search will reveal it.

Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit & doing the things that we want to do we had been staying near Okaihau, in Northland we decided to go for a drive to the Puketi Forest Park walk some tracks & see what we could find this ending up being an easy find, log signed & cache easily replaced pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #4,925 for us!

Find #632Found while walking Te Araroa - new Zealands long pathway from Cape Reinga to Bluff. Thank you to all the cache owners who place and maintain these caches, and thank you to all the people who help me and others on the wayTaking a rest day here to let my ankle recover. Was relieved to find this one after getting stumped at the lookout. Coords were spot on for me and cache is in great condition

We didn't find the last cache and felt very guilty walking about amongst all the seedlings while we were looking, so it was a relief to find this one quickly. Also saw a huge native snail while we were looking. So exciting! Cache is all good. TFTC

The rain cleared, so I headed out for this short bush walk and had the track to myself.
What a beautiful area. The track is very well kept and the tree's and bush are beautiful.
I went past gz at first but turned around when I noticed the distance starting to climb again. I spotted a very likely place and sure enough, soon had the cache in hand.

Many years ago we had done this Nature Trail before we were Geocachers, this time here with GPS but not totally successful. Found this cache fairly quickly, thanks Full0fun (we also found a couple of yours in Paihia a few days ago).

Holidaying in the Far North. Escaping the sun and heat by going for a walk in Puketi Forest. We have visited the campground and nearby Manginangina Kauri Walkway previously but we have never walked the nature trail. Cache quickly located once we spotted the correct hint item. We enjoyed our wanderings here and spending time amongst some forest giants. TFTC

Swapped the cache with a bigger one. Track improvements are fantastic.

Set out for a morning walk after staying in the DOC camp. An interesting place with all the little signs. Quick find. TFTC.

After spending most of the day in the hot sun at a sporting event up north, I thought I should make use of the long evening to pick up a few caches in the Puketi area before heading home.

After a nice walk around the loop walkway, the cache was a nice quick find here in the hint location. TFTC

Found it even tho gps was playing up. Added some mini swaps coz the kids were disappointed it had no treasure

This geocacher reported that the container is damaged.

After Aroha Island we are spending the day at Puketi Forest. We did this short nature trail, very nice trees and great to have signs with names everywhere. The lid is broken and there is water in the container. The logbook was fine. We replaced the zipbag by a smaller one, and placed the container to prevent water from getting in and staying in the container. It will need some maintenance. Thanks for placing this here and telling us about the trees.

After a full days hike on the TA I set up camp and before removing my boots I headed down the loop track for a couple more ..nice quick find tftc

Stayed the night at the doc cam site so decided to go and look around the track before I start my walk to kerikeri gor my next stop on my Te Araroa adventure.
Just love being in the forest and if only the trees could talk

Staying the night so checked this out. All good.

We found this one easily, without looking for it, it was just next to the path, not hidden... We did not know if it was normal or if it was suppose to be hidden somewhere. We logged and left it exactly where we found it. Nice walk in a beautifull forest. TFTC.

Verry easily found since the cache was almost on the track, just on the side. I don't know if it's normal but Thank for the cache. Verry nice walk.

Not sure how I missed this last time I tried. My geo-eye must have been offline. This attempt had the cache spotted as I approached gz. A quick easy find as it turns out. TFTC.

Found on a dot day while getting some fresh air in the beautiful forest. Dipped in a TB but not enough space for it to stay. TFTC. Love this forest!

A rather quick find despite compass being a little off - followed that geocaching instinct. TFTC

Definately found this one. Replaced as found. The last cacher needs to go back and look again bru.

I looked in the only possible object and there was obvious camouflage but no cache. i am not convinced the previous finder actual found it.

Gave 15 minutes of search time at GZ here. There was the obvious hint location; and then there was the spot the coordinates seemed to point to. Neither had a cache visible. Didn't go too far off trail though since we're not supposed to do that. Got to be continuing on now- we're hiking the TA and have many kilometers to go today!

After getting established at Puketi Hut this afternoon, we went on a family walk around the Nature Trail before dinner. A quick scout for this one on the way past, but despite checking two likely hint items, I had no luck here. Thanks anyway!

Yah {FTF} with my buddy GraciesGPSfun. I've been away in Auckland and thought I'd miss out on the ftf. I'm glad to be out walking in the bush again. A quick find once we got on the right path. We then grabbed the other new cache, did maintenance on one and headed back to have lunch and a chat at my buddies. A neat day, TFTC
