It's a beautiful spring day and the deadly treadlies need some dusting off. TNLN SL TFTCSubmitted via Garmin Live Geocaching
Had a second look and found it! Easier than we thought. Thank you for the little treasures! Very happy 4 and 8yr olds!
We packed the ebikes and headed to the big smoke for a couple of days. While Mr Morris conducted some business, Lady Morris joined the CO and hit the trails. Despite the smells, the blunt pencils and all the works going on - it was a great morning's ride.So cute seeing the feathered ones cooling off. Thanks for adding the trail Robmc
Spent the morning with Chewinprickes on our deadly treadlies completing a maintenance run on the FT and KCT trails. All caches are now in good condition and ready to be found. We could not find this cache, so it is now replaced.Robmc.
Had a nice day traversing parts of my old stamping ground, and reliving memories fast dissapearing into the past. This one appeared to be gone but thanks to the company I keep, it magically reappeared. Thanks Robmc
The weather looked like it was going to be nice to us today so it was decided to head to the other side of town. We encountered a couple of snakes but they weren't interested in us and slithered off home. Most finds were made although we did have to leave a couple and search for them on the way back and a couple of others seem to be missing. We got a little bamboozled with the tracks but it was a lovely day to be out and about. Thanks for placing all these caches for us to find.
It was a lovely day for a scooter ride! I encountered tiger snakes on the path twice in different locations, and I had to swerve my scooter to avoid them quickly. Thankfully, I narrowly missed them! I ended up with a pretty bad sunburn by the end of the day. Robmc, thank you so much for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area.
A failure to keep an eye on my GPS as I approached this cache meant that I overshot GZ. After quickly backtracking a short distance, I arrived at GZ and began searching for this cache. I managed to locate this cache relatively quickly and, after opening it, I had the logbook signed and soon placed back where I found it. I signed my name in the logbook as 'PagC' due to a lack of space. Before setting off to continue my journey to the next cache, I spent a few moments looking at the pond. There were a few ducks and many neatly coloured swamp hens(?) enjoying their time floating around in the pond and foraging through the tall grass.TFTC
Todays mission is to grab enough caches to get the solstice souvenir. With that in mind I looked at the map to find a nice cluster of twelve or more with out to much of a walk and somewhere I could park. This little bit of the Federation Trail and Kororoit Creek Trail seemed to fill my requirements and had a plenty of extras if the dreaded DNF occurred. With all that in mind I parked around 2pm and headed off.I took forever to find this one looking in all the wrong places eventually I found it and it was way easier than I was trying to make it.Thank you Robmc for the series and the opportunity to get the latest souvenir
Almost took it home as it was windy didn't want it to blow away. Seen some cute ducks
I found this cache today on my 35,000 step walk from Sunshine to Laverton via the Kororoit Creek Trail and the Federation Trail. Passed a second of the PTPP caches to get to this one. Took a bit of spotting before looking at it from the right direction. Thanks from D B-A
Out and about with My good caching mate Omegaman1971, there are always plenty of laughs while we are turning caches into smiles.
This is one of the caches found today.
Thanks Robmc for the cache.

Have had my eyes on the Federation Trail series of caches for a while so was grateful for the caching opportunity that presented itself today. With SpursNorth in company, we started on Fitzgerald Road and finished the day at Altona Gate shopping centre for a well deserved snack before heading home.
A blustery but mostly pleasant Friday afternoon minus the intermittent unbearable stench along the trail. With thanks to Robmc for placing and maintaining a variety of caches.

Out for the day geocaching with my brother Ketchthor. Some good spots threw out the day and no DNFs which was amazing. TFTC
Well there was a Dick on the pond…. It must have known! Thanks Robmc for placing this cache and contributing to this great game. Happy trails, Deanside
Out for a few hours with Deanside, started on this trail and then went further afield. Another day of sunshine, good finds and lots of laughs. The pond smells quite putrid now, unfortunately
Spent much longer searching here than we would ha e liked - especially given the aroma that was emanating from the search area!!
Thoroughly searched the wrong area, yet again, before circling back to where we first started looking.
Another quick explore and we spotted what we were after.
Log signed and everything replaced as found. There's certainly a fine used coffee cup selection happening here!!

Quick, easy fine, when you’re on the right side of the path, not near the grass
I went looking for a small cache, but only found a micro. I hope that is the correct cache and not a throw down. If it is, the cache page should be updated.
Thanks to Robmc for the cache.

We weren't sure how successful we would be here today after the recent string of DNFs. Did a circuit and had a think about where it could be safely tucked away, not in danger from the growing coffee cup collection. After a little hunt it was found. A bit sad to see a Coot trying to eat some styrofoam in the pond on the way out.
Got to the two Ponds, saw the long grass try my best but no luck this time
But I found a cute teddy bear instead

This part of this trail has been sitting there on the map looking at my every time I look at it, so today I decided to finally head across the painful bridge to see if I could find them.
I was hunting around for a while, ended up finding the log in the bag with no container but not the one with the container.
**Thanks to Robmc for placing this cache.**

Ponds looked clean, ducks looked happy. I think they were mocking my inability to find it.
Knowing I had a trip out here for work I put the scooter in the car for this trail after work. Plenty of smells out here with the various factories around.
Lots of baby ducks here. Cache took a few moments as I was expecting a larger cache, but soon found it.
Thanks to Robmc for the fun and the adventure.

I'd spent the day yesterday at the Grand Final.
I left the car in the CBD.
So back I went on the treddly to pick it up.
Great morning for a ride and some smiley's.
Arriving here it was time for a swim.
Well maybe needs a little filtering first.
So I'll just sign the log.

It has been a while with all the cold rainy winter weekends that we have gone a scooter ride but my smallest geokid and I headed out today to this trail. The weather was almost perfect and there was a small section I needed to revisit to avenge a couple DNF's I had a while ago as well. There were quite a few "interesting" smells emanating from some of the industrial areas.
We arrived here to the "lovely" smell of the duck pond. My geokid then said "found it" but it was the old log book with no container which we signed and placed back in the hole in the side of the concrete tank thing.
We kept searching and found the new cache as well and also signed that log book.
Thanks Robmc for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

I'm not saying it isn't there. Due to the olfactory assault, I just didn't look very long.
Thanks heaps, Robmc.

Not sure if we it was an old one but found a logbook on the ground. Had a bit of a look but didn’t find anything else
Not quite where I thought it would be! So glad to be getting out of the stench!
Be warned Jacko - The stench is getting much worse in this neck of the woods. Poor duckies
Not quite where I thought it was going to be hit glad it was still a quick find so we can move on out of there! #stinky
Today's 'brief' stint was an 18km (we thought it would be about 10) walk which took us nearly 5 hrs, along a bike track, my bike is currently in pieces.
Not much shade through here.
Poor ducks, they really should do something about this.
Doesn't smell nice at all through here. I held my nose while day1976 found the cache.

Found with ilukaperi on a short day stint in Melbourne's western suburbs.
The poor ducks. It looks absolutelty gross in there.

Ride for maintenance.
The main track us underwater after all the recent rain, but there is a small track to the south that will allow you to follow the trail, and collect the cache without getting wet.

Out and about with echidna44 and au_fait for the day doing the bike trail here. We left one car at one end and one at the other. Enjoyed good company, weather excellent and mostly success. Looking at previous log we thought we were in for a long look but while au-fait looking the wrong place the echidna44 quickly had it in hand. Cache in excellent condition. Thanks for the journey Robmc
Out with au.fait & xambo4u, we were doing the FT trail and part of the KCT trail. We had a great day with lots of talk and laughter. We started to search the wrong spot, but soon found the right location. Yes, there were birds on the pond even though it was full of scum. Thanks Robmc.
Out today in the excellent company of echidna44 and xambo4u on an overcast but fine day. Just perfect for doing a length of the Federation Trail. The sharp, eyes of echidna44 soon had this one in hand TFTC Robmc
The wind was blowing from the slaughter yards, and GZ was a bit on the nose.
Checked on a maintenance run (and I mean run!).
All good and ready to be found.

Took a while to find, well there must be something good in the ground around here after observing how high the grass has grown.
The pond on the west side looked like raw sewage and the coots were having a ball, hate to think what it is doing to their well being.
The pond to the east at least looked a little more presentable, but who knows what is dissolved in there.
Time to keep on heading further along the trail.

"Found it" might be a bit misleading for this one...
I was out on a bike ride and saw a young couple looking for something. I gave the usual "Everything ok?" to which they replied "Yeah all good". But there was something familiar about their behaviour so I asked if they were cachers and they said "Yes!"
They introduced themselves as gracewalkr and about_500 and they agreed to let me join them. Well, before I'd managed to whip the phone out, gracewalkr had found it and we all signed the log and went our merry ways.
Thanks to gracewalkr and about_500 for letting me log an unexpected find, great to see some young 'uns enjoying the game!

Found with the help of a fellow cacher who happened to be passing by (parkinsonb2) also alongside anout_500
Took a bit searching with it being so overgrown but came away with a smiley face, TFTC
First serious day out caching since COVID outbreak.

While helping the olds get their travelling dwelling serviced now that they are finally able, for the first time in months, to cross the river and visit, I took the opportunity of a nice stroll on this part of the Federation Trail.
It was a fun game of leapfrog that netted every second cache on the way west, with the remainder nabbed on the return.
No water birds today.
Thanks, Robmc

Found by Mary and David at 13:28. At last we are caching again, and collecting the Wonders souvenirs. D tried for this one almost a year ago, but there was a lot of water around it. No problem today, and we saw two wood ducks as we approached. Glad of some shade too - who would have thought we'd need shade so early in the season. Very messy path users - rubbish everywhere! Also some interesting odours/scents/aromas from the pond mud and the nearby industries. A nice quick find. Our thanks to Robmc.
Despite the flooding, as described in the last Owner Maintenance, the cache can still be found.
It is temporarily smaller, but there is a logbook to be signed, and you don't even have to get wet!
