It's a beautiful spring day and the deadly treadlies need some dusting off. TNLN SL TFTCSubmitted via Garmin Live Geocaching
Took the geopup on a walk along the Federation Trail today, considering we needed to find a cache to fill in a gap in our Finds by Founds Date calendar. Found this one on our travels.TFTC
Trying to tidy this section with smilesOn a whole succeeding but will have to revisit someThanks for the trail
Couldnt find ,maybe misplaced by someone but cool tunnel and hope I get my next one
Very hard and someone put it in the wrong area in the crack before you enter/ hint
We packed the ebikes and headed to the big smoke for a couple of days. While Mr Morris conducted some business, Lady Morris joined the CO and hit the trails. Despite the smells, the blunt pencils and all the works going on - it was a great morning's ride. Thanks for adding the trail Robmc
Spent the morning with Chewinprickes on our deadly treadlies completing a maintenance run on the FT and KCT trails. All caches are now in good condition and ready to be found.Robmc.
Had a nice day traversing parts of my old stamping ground, and reliving memories fast dissapearing into the past. Certainly remembered riding through here in the old days. Pity about the rubbish though. Thanks Robmc
It was a lovely day for a scooter ride with Geo-turtle. I encountered tiger snakes on the path twice in different locations, and I had to quickly swerve my scooter to avoid them. Thankfully, I narrowly missed them! Geo-turtle managed to take some photos and a video. I ended up with a pretty bad sunburn by the end of the day. Nice hide here! Robmc, thank you so much for placing this cache for everyone to enjoy in this area.
The weather looked like it was going to be nice to us today so it was decided to head to the other side of town. We encountered a couple of snakes but they weren't interested in us and slithered off home. Most finds were made although we did have to leave a couple and search for them on the way back and a couple of others seem to be missing. We got a little bamboozled with the tracks but it was a lovely day to be out and about. Thanks for placing all these caches for us to find.
I certainly made finding this cache much more of a challenge to myself than it needed to be. When I began searching for this cache at GZ, I was constantly checking places where I was confident the cache would be. None of these areas I searched eventuated into finding the cache. I had searched high and low, near and far but was unable to locate it. I felt as though I had been thoroughly searching and checking all of the suitable locations for this cache but I could still not find it. By this time, I had been searching for quite a while now and I was on the brink of calling it quits. It was only during my final sweep of the area that I found it- in a location I had already checked multiple times. I genuinely do not understand how I managed to miss it all this time. Relieved to have had finally found it, I quickly grabbed it to sign the log sheet. The cache and log are both in good condition and, after signing, I placed it back and continued on my way along the trail.TFTC
What a lucky find, glances right as it while parking my bicycle. Surely would have taken a while otherwise! Tftc
Todays mission is to grab enough caches to get the solstice souvenir. With that in mind I looked at the map to find a nice cluster of twelve or more with out to much of a walk and somewhere I could park. This little bit of the Federation Trail and Kororoit Creek Trail seemed to fill my requirements and had a plenty of extras if the dreaded DNF occurred. With all that in mind I parked around 2pm and headed off.My last find for the day and I am happy to report no DNFs and 12 happy smiley faces along with the new souvenirThank you Robmc for the series and the opportunity to get the latest souvenir
I found this cache today on my 35,000 step walk from Sunshine to Laverton via the Kororoit Creek Trail and the Federation Trail. Enjoyed the walk through the tunnel. After grabbing this one I had my second snake encounter of the day as I saw the last foot of the tail slither past my foot and into the grass. Thanks from D B-A
Out and about with My good caching mate Omegaman1971, there are always plenty of laughs while we are turning caches into smiles.
This is one of the caches found today.
Thanks Robmc for the cache.

Have had my eyes on the Federation Trail series of caches for a while so was grateful for the caching opportunity that presented itself today. With SpursNorth in company, we started on Fitzgerald Road and finished the day at Altona Gate shopping centre for a well deserved snack before heading home.
A blustery but mostly pleasant Friday afternoon minus the intermittent unbearable stench along the trail. With thanks to Robmc for placing and maintaining a variety of caches.

Out for the day geocaching with my brother Ketchthor. Some good spots threw out the day and no DNFs which was amazing. TFTC
Both ConnieandRick and I were looking on the wrong side until the other party found the cache. Thanks Robmc for placing this cache and contributing to this great game. Happy trails, Deanside
Out for a few hours with Deanside, started on this trail and then went further afield. Another day of sunshine, good finds and lots of laughs. Luckily I found this quickly, was worried it would be a long search.
I chase souvenirs... but I detest streaks. Unfortunately the current Wheel-of-Challenges campaign is about a 28-day streak, so we'll see how far Pacman gets.
A look at the map shows many unfound caches around Laverton and the Federation Trail. So no shortage of caches for this streak - just the mojo to work on then.
I started off yesterday with the extra challenge of a playground. Today it was the challenge of getting through the detours of parking around an industrial area, walking through the dumped tyres and impromptu tips, and finally onto the Federation Trail. Well, this was the random cache I chose for today and if you're not cycling the FT, you have to work around whatever it takes to get to GZ . The cache was a quick find, with accurate co-ords and good hint (I still had a hint on my phone from some previously save cache page - still applied).
On the map this had seemed like a quick local cache but it ended up being a 20km drive and a 1km walk. This is just day 2, so that 28-day streak is looking rather like Tom Cruise's currently launching 'Mission Impossible' .
Anyway, that's the first 'easy' streak completed and 1st souvenir scored.
Thanks, Robmc.
Streak souvenir chasing status = 2/28.
Easy - completed today.
Medium - in progress.
Hard - MI7!!!

Approached this one with a little too much confidence of knowing where to look.
Turns out we were wrong!!
After scaling the hill to search is thr most reasonable places, a look at previous logs indicated that we had overshot the area.
Back to the bottom amd a bit of a look around and we found something that caught our eye.
Height was certainly an advantage in the retrieval, as well as some careful placement when popping it back so that it didn't fall.
Thanks for yet another wild goose chase (self inflicted, of course!!!)

Pretty dark in the tunnel on an overcast day so happy to come out the other end. Searched either side of the path before spotting the hide.
Found without any trouble, although the hint doesn't match and there doesn't appear to be any camouflage hiding it.
My thanks to Robmc for the cache.
My thanks to Robmc for the cache.
This area had a bit of grunge to it. We had an idea of where this one could be and thought it might have been nabbed by the recent artwork additions of the spray can variety. Actually, just the camo was tagged and the cache safely tucked away behind. TFTC
So last night I called up BackPAQer and like you do.. I said lets go find some caches...
so after some debate on which trail we would tackle we decided to FT and KCT track.
So early morning start with two scooter and BackPAQer and myself hit the trails.
Hot day for it considering it is spring.. 33C out there today..
Day started badly with two Did Not Finds in the first three...
But we ended up with 27 Finds and 7 Did Not Finds and picked up a trackable
It was a fun day out and even managed a great lunch and a pint in Yarraville to break up the day.
Thanks to RobMC for the trail. Sorry for the generic logs
Thanks for the cache and the hide
log book has been signed and returned

*Cache find # 14133.*
This part of this trail has been sitting there on the map looking at my every time I look at it, so today I decided to finally head across the painful bridge to see if I could find them.
This one took me a little while to find as I was looking way too low because of the hint, in the end I found it at head height.
**Thanks to Robmc for placing this cache.**

Checked this cache, and it is indeed gone.
Now replaced and ready to be found.

And this was my sad face. Confirmed my idea with previous finder, but no luck. Oh well. Watchlist

I'd spent the day yesterday at the Grand Final.

Great morning for a ride and some smiley's.
Little dark thru here.
May need some TLC this one log is a little wet.

It has been a while with all the cold rainy winter weekends that we have gone a scooter ride but my smallest geokid and I headed out today to this trail. The weather was almost perfect and there was a small section I needed to revisit to avenge a couple DNF's I had a while ago as well. There were quite a few "interesting" smells emanating from some of the industrial areas.
Parked on the side of the track and spotted this one as soon as we turned around.
Thanks Robmc for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Found the cache and a couple of hooligans on motor bikes doing wheelies through the tunnel
Today's 'brief' stint was an 18km (we thought it would be about 10) walk which took us nearly 5 hrs, along a bike track, my bike is currently in pieces.
By this point, day1976 was finding all the caches while I sat down whenever we stopped.
Day1976 went up top, I stayed below, no way am I climbing that hill in my current exhausted state...
I found it while day1976 searched in vain.

Found with ilukaperi on a short day stint in Melbourne's western suburbs.
I thought I knew where this one was, but after 5 minutes of search, it wasn't there. Then Iluka found it in a place I thought it wasn't.

Oops forgot to log this after finding it on a ride on Sunday. Took a few minutes but finally had it in hand. Thanks for all these caches along the FT.
Out with au.fait & xambo4u, we were doing the FT trail and part of the KCT trail. We had a great day with lots of talk and laughter. Searched, looked and found. Thanks Robmc.
Out and about with echidna44 and au_fait for the day doing the bike trail here. We left one car at one end and one at the other. Enjoyed good company, weather excellent and mostly success. Found the hint confusing here so we used some geo sense and the echidna44 was on a roll here. Cache in excellent condition. Thanks for the journey Robmc
Out today in the excellent company of echidna44 and xambo4u on an overcast but fine day. Just perfect for doing a length of the Federation Trail. This took a bit more time than others along the trail but was spotted eventually TFTC Robmc
Yay! My son finally got into it and found the cache. Off back now! Good break to the lockdown long weekend. Go doggies!
Had just about given up. Stopped to have a drink and a snack and something seemed a bit different.
Thanks to Robmc for this hide.
Mr S spent a while here and finally spotted the container on the ground. Well it looks like a Robmc container, right colour and all but no log.
Mr S kept looking for another container but none was found.
So perhaps it was it. So a piece of paper wassigned and inserted and the container popped back where it fitted.

While helping the olds get their travelling dwelling serviced now that they are finally able, for the first time in months, to cross the river and visit, I took the opportunity of a nice stroll on this part of the Federation Trail.
It was a fun game of leapfrog that netted every second cache on the way west, with the remainder nabbed on the return.
Thanks, Robmc. This took a little longer than it should have... Next time I'll have a proper look in the first spot I check.
