Logs
Apologies for the late log, we have just come back from a 10 day holiday to South Australia, spending every minute we could with family Today (Wed 25/9) we checked out of the accomodation in Port MacDonnell just after 8.30am so we could find a few more caches here before heading to Meningie for the night. We checked in to our accomodation and straight away headed off to Raukkan as it was already about 4pm and we wanted to do a circuit of the lake before dark. We arrived at Raukkan and made our way to the Church which is on the $50 note and the birthplace of David Unaipon, also on the $50 note - very cool! We looked a bit more around there and then headed to this cache which was right next door to someone's well set up campsite. We decided to ask them straight away if they had heard of geocaching and he immediately told us where the cache was lol so I gather he has had a few visitors there over the time lol. Next stop - the ferry across to the othe cache here .... wait, what?? the 24 hour ferry is not running?? Something about the breakwater .... noooo .... oh well, back to Meningie the way we came! We've just had our 15th Caching Anniversary this year!TFTC SnappyTomCats - GJMMelb
Down narrung for a light house activation with ham radio club and thought grab a cache or two tftc
Found at 3:11 PM GAFF1.G'day Diane & John! - we are camped just 58 metres from your cache and so actually walked over this time! Looked around and then spotted the container right in the middle of a nasty prickly bush that is growing from the middle of the tree Gently and carefully put my hand in to grab the cache - but !@#$ it got me just a bit though [B)]Replaced it in a slightly less antagonistic spot - about 15 cm away and placed some extra vegetation camo so it can't be seen as easily by muggles.Interesting to read about your caching history Thanks to SnappyTomCatsFeedback: Our pprass stamp died a couple of days ago and now I have to write our name and date with a pen - takes ages and slows us down. Can you help!
Tftc that was funny. Were sitting in the car waiting for network without knowing if there any cache here. Actually we park 10ft away to the cache lol. Spend a night here
Found this whilst on a weekend away for a camping trip with gridge98, we went to Kingston SE, Robe and Cape Jaffa. Thanks for the cache.
A quick stop and find here today, cache is all good. This weekend Courtneyrose_ and I headed away for a few days to Kingston S.E and surrounds for the local parkrun plus find a few caches and enjoy the weekend away, most of the logs books were signed with our names others signed as COCO. Thanks for the cache
We were camped here for the weekend for some much deserved R&R. A spot we like to meet family.
We were also joined by a group of Amateur Radio operators for the weekend which was interesting.
Checked the cache and all good and dry

Thanks for the beautiful location, i want to say this was a quick one for us but no. Tried in the cover of night but muggles were camped quite close, so waited until they had departed the next Morning. Once they were gone it was a nice quick find in kn great condition thanks
Found had to wait for muggles to leave exactly where this was but got it with riotgirlckb
DNF - thought it was a busy long weekend at the campground. Great chats with all the campers we met while searching tho!
Extremely windy today and with several muggles and fur babies camped in the immediate vicinity, I did not persist in amongst litter and lush undergrowth. Instead, took 2 hands full of litter to the bins. Another day.
We just missed the ferry but the driver was so kind, she turned that ferry around and picked us up! Nice quick find. Thanks for the cache!
Today is a once-off pubic holiday. I and J plus the little one took three ferries on River Murray (Tailem Bend, Wellington, Narrung). And of course, we tried some caches on the way. Today we scored 22 caches, including Traditional cache, Virtual cache, Mystery cache, and Lab adventure cache. Only one DNF.
This cache was the only cache we tried after taking the Narrung Ferry.
I got two mobile phones, one cannot pick up signal, the other can occasionally pick up signal but not accurate. So I wander around, checked some spots, then found this cache.
Good-sized container. Took nothing, left nothing. Signed the log book, and placed it back.
Thanks for the cache, SnappyTomCats.

Our thanks to all the COs for taking on this Geo-guided tour. We have enjoyed ourselves, but it is time to turn West again.

Great co ords made for a quick find. Very windy here today as we watched the ferry punt make the crossing. Nice spot thank you.
A quick find on the way to Raukkan to see the ‘ famous’ church.

SnappyTomCats, I found 6th Anniversary AD Narrung today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

As we where camping here for the Anzac Weekend, it was a no brainer to Check on the condition of this one. Log was fine, plenty of room still, Added a bit of swag for the kids, please, if you take something, add something. Thats how swag works. Also dropped a TB..You can take that without putting something in.
Camped here for couple of nights, a quick find once the bus camped next the cache hit the road. TFTC
Today was a hideously early start for a Sunday. But after seeing my footie team had won overnight spurred me into action.
I was at Morphett Vale by 6.30 and we were off to Wellington to meet the rest of the JAMS crew. We were a little bit early so we started off with one cache in Wellington.
Then we piled into Sir Spectres 4WD, we were crammed in like sardines and then headed over on the ferry for an action filled day of ‘out of the way’ caches that just never seem to be ticked off.
Then back to Wellington and towards Langhorne Creek for some old roads before splitting up and heading back home.
Just one more in Strath and then in Onkaparinga River Park before finally making it back home.
I was laughing so hard at one 4WD stretch that I couldn’t speak, it was a hell of a ride.
Fun day out.

A day finding caches with the JAMS Crew( Sir Spectre, mogni, JJ52 and Michells&hound). Plenty of 4x4 driving and bouncing around in the back seat. A real fun day. TFTC SnappyTomCats
Another JAMS day was organised and after a very early start we all met at the Wellington ferry where we all squished into sir_spectres 4X4 to go and find some out of the way caches that you just don't get to. We started off at Malinong then headed to Meningie via a round about route, then to Narrung and back to Wellington where we separated into 2 cars again and ended the day finding a few Roads that never were around Langhorne Creek before heading home. A fun day was had with lots of laughs and plenty of excitement driving a few sandy tracks. [^]
A quick find here before getting on the ferry and heading back to Wellington.
Thanks for the cache SnappyTomCats.

The JAMMS team rejoined for an adventurous day out exploring and grabbing a few high D and T caches as well as visiting a few we didn't quite get to for the JLWE. Some of the roads were a little bumpy but with three of us in the back of sir_spectre's 4WD we could only move so much, unfortunately up was still an option.
Thanks to SnappyTomCats from mogni

The full quota of JAMS crew ( jj52, allister w, Mongi, Michells&hound, plus myself ) where out for a drive today. The Wellington ferry is the location we meet and then we combined in to my 4 x 4 for the rest of the morning and the start of the afternoon. We headed off to Malinong then took a 4 x 4 short cut to some more caches and followed a geocachers path to Meningie then to Narrung, where i question if the Kartoo Road is really a 4 x4 track or just high clearance for the sandy patches ,and back to the Wellington Ferry and Allisters car. Two cars then headed to get some caches that where missed on the JLWE at Langhorne Creek. Again the crew jumped in my car at times since some of those used to be a road you just need a 4 x4 or it's a walk to the cache. A fun day out was had by all, even though at times it was a bumpy ride. Always good to get those out of the way caches off the map.

Found this cache while camped at the Narrung camp, as part of my 3 day kayaking expedition, where we kayaked from Parnka Point to NineMile Rd on the first day. Day 2 saw us kayak sail 33km from the bottom of Lake Albert to Narrung for the night. Day 3 was a 37km kayak sail from Narrung to Wellington in a 15-20kn tail wind - we made it in good time across Lake Alexandrina!
A great little camping spot here - we tucked the tents behind the reeds/willows and had friends from Meningie drop in for supper.
An enjoyable stay here, and a great spot for a cache.

Found on our tour around this area. There was a camper nearby and I always worry people will think I’m in the bushes to go to the loo but no I’m just looking for a plastic container. Tftc.
Thanks. One of the best free camps ever if you like green grass, scenery and pelicans (& toilets).
Just spent 3 nights at Wellington traveling around nearby far geocaching. Such a great way to discover many adventurous places.

Found on a camping trip to the Coorong and Southeast areas with brisal5, FeatherWaite and a non-geocaching friend who was visiting from Tasmania.
My main aim of the visit was to show my friend around, however we also took the opportunity to find a few caches along the way. We had a great time visiting some of the beaches and other areas.
We were lucky with the weather - mostly warm and still. However, the last day was very hot, so didn’t worry about finding any caches on the way home.
I am planning to be down in the Southeast again in a few days to find a few more caches and attend the events at Millicent and Naracoorte.
Thanks SnappyTomCats for the cache.

ROAD TRIP! Time to head south and fill a few gaps near the Coorong that require a 4WD to access. [^] So I joined Featherwaite in the trusty Hilux and with E.gregory in his mighty Palace on wheels in support what could possibly go wrong. [?]
Day 1: Get there and find a nice spot to camp for the night:: It ended up being Tea Tree Crossing Campsite which we had all to ourselves. But of course there were a few caches to find along the way.
A pleasant little trip across on the ferry we had dozen of birds coming in for a feed. It wasn't Australia Day - in fact it wasn't even school holidays and yet this little free camp was packed with Grey Nomads. So we didn't drive in and stopped on the road and used the shrubs as cover to get to GZ and make a quick find. I rescued to TB to move along. [^]
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
***Thanks SnappyTomCats for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***
Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

Found during a camping trip to the Coorong and the Southeast areas with brisal5 and I in one vehicle, and e.gregory and friend in the other. We travelled around the Narrung Peninsula and down the Coorong where we spent the first night camped out at Tea Tree Crossing. Enjoyed some challenging driving and eventful cache finds, wandering bush tracks and strenuous sand dune climbs in very scenic areas. The second night saw us camp out in Little Dip before meandering the country roads in search of an assortment of Traditional, Earth, Multi and Puzzle caches further down the coast before heading back home via Lucindale, Padthaway and Keith. Thanks for the cache SnappyTomCats!
A quick and easy park and grab after taking the ferry from the other side. Dropped a TB.

After enjoying nearly all of our week in Meningie we decided that a tour around Lake Albert was in order while trying for some of the nearby caches. The weather was surprisingly cool for this time of the year but much better than caching on a hot day.

Interesting way to do the anniversaries, we just go some where nice for dinner and do a overnighter somewhere indulgent. No pattern, no letters just eating, drinking and loving.
We haven't been for a drive around Albert for a while so it was an interesting day tripper to do a lap of the lake. Everything looked well watered and the paddocks are looking good, we had forgotten how little the ferry was here, we are so familiar with the Wellington one which is a whopper in comparison.
Thanks SnappyTomCats for the cache and a look into your life. Found the cache, stamped the log, or did we write on it? hmm cant remember now, and replaced safe and sound as found

My final day of my weekend down at the south-east on the Limestone Coast, I finished up a little earlier than anticipated, and so decided to make my slowly north grabbing a few geocaches. I drove through Tantanoola (finding a couple of newly published caches), then through Millicent, found a few more of the GV2020 caches that were inaccessible the last time I was driving that trail, and then I managed to geocache through Hatherleigh. My intermediate pit stop was at Parnka Point along the Coorong, and managed to find an oldie and adventurous island cache. Then, rather than a flying visit through Meningie along the Princes Highway, a decision was made to turn left around Lake Albert. Consequently, a few stops were made within Meningie and heading out, and then consequently at Long Point, Pelican Point, Raukkan and then finally through Narrung catching the ferry across. I had actually forgotten about the ferry here, and it was late by the time I was heading across, that I was glad to see it operating at all hours of the day.
A quick find as it was only now that I realised that this road wasn't continuous, and I needed to rely on a ferry to get me across. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Happy anniversary SnappyTomCats, and thanks for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Hi there SnappyTomCats.
We found your cache **"6th Anniversary AD Narrung"** today. (This makes our find count 21337).
Today we headed out from Meningie to do the Scenic Lake Albert Drive. We enjoyed our outing and found 3 caches (& DNF'd 0) in our cache run. Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places while we meander our way around Australia. Thanks also for not placing an eclipse tin or a 200ml Sistema here. It made us feel really good to find this regular sized cache here.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.
